This song is so underrated. I only found this song after looking for Shep Pettibone remixes, I found his rework of this song. I have literally listened to this song more than 50 times since I found this tune earlier this week. Such a great tune.
The Breakfast Club asked the eternal question that we all wonder about: “How far away can you go and still keep dancing with me?” You can’t top that one. I wonder about it on an almost daily basis. Without The Breakfast Club, my eyes would have never been opened. Thank you.
I got my drivers license in '88. I was always into the more obscure groups then...Bourgeois Tagg, Device, PM, Tami Show, Wax UK...great pop songs from all of them.
Right On Track was one of the greatest singles of 1987 and I wish this song had followed it into the Top 10 here in the US. It’s great that this is a live vocal, I’d love to see a complete live performance from this band. And they were nominated for Best New Artist at that year’s Grammys (on tv at the ceremony, when their name was announced, the camera showed them shaking in their seats biting their fingernails I think, which was very funny), yet they lost to Jody Watley, who I love dearly

I‘ll probably never be able to explain what that whole album and especially Never be the same and Rico Mambo mean to me, how much they moved me and how much they impacted (sorry if my English is insufficiant) the summer and fall of 1987 for me! I had always hoped for a successor album, but I don‘t mind. I‘m simply glad I have this one. And Never be the same still breaks my heart - in the sweetest way. Love from Germany
@@doctorclu Yes, thanks for the information. I know these "new" songs and I like them. And I love their "pure", life-is-good mood - - hmm, hard to describe...it's something only 1980s music has, and Breakfast Club songs have it in perfection.

never heard that song in the 80's til few years back, it's an awesome song! still love the song "Right On Track" btw I'm 49yrs old yes I was living under a rock. lol
La música de antes tenía calidad. Los cantantes sii cantaban en vivo y se lucían! Tiempos aquellos🥹puro talento musical y vocal, The Breakfast Club,👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
We played "Always Be Like This" right before our surfing sessions at all the waves across the North Shore Hawaii in the summers of '88 into the 90's. Not one bad track on that album.
Mediocre voice if you compare with others of 80s, but definitely one hit wonder. Always thought this song was hi nrg, but it is new wave/ synth pop very close to hi nrg genre however. The magic hand of Stephen Bray in drums and lyrics writting is very obvious. It sounds like you listen Madonna from Like a vrgin or True blue albums.
Still sounds so good in 2024
This is like the sweetest food for the 80's hungry souls

man, I love this song. !
Suena genial
I loved this album in 88 when I was 15. Of course it's Madonna that brought me to this group. She was just so big.

She could’ve done a great version of this song if she wanted to.

Beautiful song. And a very good live performance 😊
Dan sang live. No phony baloney lip-synching.
All real there ! :) BC

One of the most unique tracks from the Breakfast Club album! I like Kiss And Tell more, but this song is still catchy.
The ENTIRE album is amazing!
@@oscarjetson128Definitely. I will say, my top 3 favorites will always be this, Kiss and Tell, and of course, Right On Track.

Host Nia Peeples, who has said “I do” four times.
I still don't understand why this fine song didn't chart on the Hot 100. It was pretty popular in the dance clubs up in New England.
This song was a top 10 hit on the Billboard Dance Chart, peaked at #8
