- The cast of My Family, along with producers DLT Entertainment decided that now would be a good time for to release the never-seen-before outtakes from the show.
Episodes of My Family are back on BBC One, Frodays from 8pm staring Robert Lindsay, Zoë Wanamaker, Daniela Denby-Ashe and Gabriel Thomson.

Loved him as Wolfie in Citizen Smith ' see he's still got it here.

I hold this show close to my heart - I grew up with My Family and always found it so relaxing and funny.
I found (and still find) comfort in the scenery and chemistry between the characters. Tis a shame the show never got the finale it deserved. Instead, the last episode was set in the pub and ended as if more episodes were to follow - which sadly wasn't the case.
I sincerely hope that BBC has the set in storage; I would love to see another season of this to properly bring this great, great show to the close it deserves.
2011.. The year My Family got kicked out and Two Pints of Larger and a Packet of crisps :( to make room for new sitcoms and nearly most of those newer ones all sucked lmao
@@GLBizzie Sadly I don't think the cast would return if given the option. They commented that they thought the writing was getting ridiculous and I think even flat out refused to do some of it. It's my personal favourite sitcom so it is a shame it didn't get a proper ending... Still a better ending than Two and a Half Men got though lmao

@@xenthejackal got it already thanks, but there is a slight niggle - the 2004 flashback episode wasn’t released on DVD at all and is only available to watch on iPlayer

I adore this series! Why is it so hard to find anywhere? Robert Lindsay is brilliant in whatever he does, and the rest of the cast are superb too!

working night shifts I missed many of these superb episodes. I have been watching the repeats and have laughed so much, it made my Christmas. Brilliant scripts, timing, acting, and production team. I have seen many comedians, comedy shows, slapstick, and "alternative" comedy. My family tops the lot for pure comedy. You really believe this is an actual family, and each character is a vital part of the team. Robert Lindsay, and Zoe Wanamaker are excellent together, and their timing and one liners are brilliant.
Can't believe Nick didn't appear in any of them, those must have been the hardest to do
Possibly the actor didn't sign the release papers to allow the use of any of the outtake clips with him in.

Very hard, as all the kids are now grown up. For example, Kris Marshall who played Nick is in Beyond Paradise for the BBC and looks much different. Gabriel Thomson who played Michael studied law and became a human rights lawyer. I think it would be hard to bring it back since the family would have changed so much.

@@emma-tu1sz The problem is most of the cast don't want to return - in fact nearing the end of it's run, most of the cast felt the writing was terrible. Zoe Wannamaker who played Susan said she and Robert Lindsay refused to do an episode due to the poor quality of the script. Also Gabriel Thomson who played Michael felt the writers destroyed his character by suddenly and without warning turning the character gay - he said that for first nine seasons Michael was always interested in girls. In fact sleeping and flirting with many, even one episode his mum catches him in bed with a girl, and also in the 2003 Christmas special it is hinted he lost his virginity to a girl on a Tube train. And then suddenly without any hint at all that Michael was interested in guys, they turn him gay in season ten. Gabriel said it was totally unrealistic and really unfair - he said they should have started hinting at Michael maybe bi-sexual around two seasons before this, but they didn't. So a lot of the cast are not fond of returning.

im a manual wheelchair user, but i have tried those motorised ones and i can completely understand the difficulty he had with that, sometimes they just have a mind of their own....

I absolutley loved this show as a teen i had a huge crush on janey. nick was my fav character he always made me laugh after nick and janey left the show wasnt as funny but still was brill to watch i will never get bored of this i hope they bring it back though
I don't understand why people don't like this show if I was that terrible then why did the BBC keep it around for 11 years think about that that while you're busy criticising the show there must be something to it at the BBC kept renewing it for 11 years I like it anyway what am I saying I loved
Mate, I like this show but that's a really, REALLY weak argument. A show can be absolute dog shit yet still bring in enough viewers to justify its continual production. There's a lot of idiots in the world who watch objectively crap television. 🙄
Then again, while show such as Mrs Brown's Boys are total s**t, many people seem to love then. So while rubbish shows continue to bring in the viewers, will not the BBC continue to air them? Sad, but true!

I bet there are more outtakes, ones that have yet to be seen by the general public!!
Most of these are actually in the episodes, they just cut to the next shot quickly and just redid the reaction shot afterwards

It's funny but the way main actress looks and sounds makes it impassable to watch it
As with Open All Hours, Dinnerladies, Last of the Summer Wine, Men Behaving Badly, Goodness Gracious Me etc I found this comedy series so utterly boring, no laugh out loud humour! Best comedies are Only Fools, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, We're Not Going Out, Gavin and Stacey, Extras and a few others I can't think of right now.
For British and Irish I'd add One Foot in the Grave, Father Ted and Still Game.
I would argue that maybe one negative opinion does not mean a show is bad, if you dislike it so much don't watch it. Although, as it seems, you must have a very dry personal life to be releasing unnecessary thoughts in places where they are clearly not needed; therefore may just require the extra entertainment.
4:25 I think these guys should definitely stick to work as a youtuber because working as an actor proves abit too much if you viewers know what I mean because I’m showing signs of autism which means I will not be laughing I will be absolutely mad and even say I quit and walk away and not come back again
