The Beatles didn't want their fans paying money for a song twice. That's why the singles don't appear on the official British albums.

Happy Birthday, Paul! Or should I say, "They say it's your birthday / We're gonna have a good time / I'm glad it's your birthday / Happy birthday to you!"

This song always gives me goosebumps! One of the keys to the Beatles popularity (in my opinion) was how well their voices blended. Similar to the Beach Boys, it was just a magical combination.

Thank you so much for picking this particular video!. It's so amazing.! BTW, a little factoid. You probably noticed John's smile when he took that high note in the chorus, cause during previous takes his voice broke there. Now that is priceless! Thank you J.Fro90 and God Bless!

They wanted to give fans their moneys worth on albums, not singles they already purchased. You can find the singles on Past Masters I and II.

The thing is that most of the songs that they put on albums was because the majoruty of these songs were originally the flip sides of their big hits.
I always enjoyed all the flip sides and now they are being recognised as, as they should be, as brilliant songs.

I have recently been revisting the Beatles after many years. I have always liked their music and could appreciate how talented they were, both as a group and individually.
A fan with a lower case f. But I was always drawn to their earlier years, before they became, for me, too avant garde in the late 60's.
Out of all their impressive discography, this song stands out for me.
Incredible harmonies, perfect understated musicianship, simple lyrics, and the perfect length.
And to watch it performed in grainy b+w footage. Capturing perfectly the zeitgeist of the period........Pure magic.

The Beatles didn't like the idea of people having to pay twice for a song so they didn't include them on the albums.

Reason one of infinite on why John still is my favorite Beatle. His voice really made you FEEL. Good choice! 🕊️

I've just watched The Beachboys doing Back In The USSR in their concert with Ringo on drums , amazing . The reason they do it in concerts is because The Beatles did a Beachboys sound in the middle of the song . Do a reaction without listening to it first , love to see 1st time reacts to get an honest look on their face , like this one lol

This is a older video that's been a Patreon exclusive , Ifor a Month, that youtube blocked right away. I wasn't aware that June 18th was Paul's birthday, and I didn't have my album analysis ready on time yet so with this one being newly available I wanted something to celebrate the day. And I really hope you all enjoy it & consider joining my Patreon!

It was a Brian Epstein thing. He was their manager and, as some have mentioned, he didn't want fans paying for the same song twice.
The record company in the US didn't always agree with that. So, sometimes you had US released albums with tracks removed and sometimes singles you wouldn't have normally had,

John holding his guitar like Gerry Marsden from Gerry and the Pacemakers another band you should check out. This song was my 14 year old sisters favourite song when it came out which I didn’t get at the time. I do now.

actually a lot of the British groups held their guitars high like that back then, not down by their knees like some did later and do now.

The Beatles and George Martin always thought it was cheating fans putting singles on albums well for the most part

@@Nina5144 I'm 76. I was 18 when The Beatles arrived. For 6 years, every month a new hit single, every six months a ground breaking album. "The kids these days" can hear it all in a couple of days, no waiting!.
Beatles changed my life. I became the roadie for a rock band, In 42 years of service I missed 4 performances. (The guys are still playing, but I retired in 2010.)
