Their harmonies were fab. The combination of the beat group sound and the harmonies, and their amazing songwriting skills, made them top of heap ("toppermost of the poppermost" in John's words) in the early 1960s.

Love that you're reviewing Beatles tunes. They're my generation! I was one of those screaming crying kids! I appreciate the Beatles more now than ever. This particular song, I Feel Fine, is the first time in history of recorded music, where feedback was used in a recording. The sound was discovered completely by accident & they loved it! The Beatles are & will always be my fave band of all time. Check out the Revolver album next. That's when they started creating more unique music that was drifting away from the mainstream. But they couldn't get away from the mainstream - no matter what they did or which direction they went, they changed the mainstream with each albums! They became the mainstream but never stagnating! And their devout fans followed. There are so many insightful videos in UA-cam & I've been gobbling them up! You should too! Keep up the good work - you can never go wrong with Beatles tunes! You're gonna LOVE Revolver!

Loved your reaction. Great song. There are some pretty good live performances of this out there. The Beatles were a great singing band live.

Got the 45 when it came out in 1964 and couldn't stop picking up the needle and replaying that opening note. There had never been anything like it. Give Tomorrow Never Knows a listen. The bass line in Hey Bulldog is worth a reaction.

One of my favorite Beatles songs and the first time intentional feedback was used on a record and they also invented the music video etc

When one of the strings on a guitar reacted to being close to an amp it rang out. John decided to use that as the opening "effect".

If you really want to hear Beatles harmony, check out "This Boy", and "Because".

Do you know why the director put him on an exercise bike, instead of his drum kit? How strange.

Have a look and comment on this song by a UK star of the time (Dora Bryan - All I Want For Christmas Is A Beatle)

the guys didn't like to lip-synch and so they would act out some, sometimes pretty outrageous...
