The guy who took the day off work must feel good about that decision.
"best day ever"
it's not like it helped him avoid an alien invasion but oh well good for him
Actually all Black Mesa employees lived in a residential area inside the complex itself.
So yeah, probably dead.
Until 7 hours later...
Combine: I'm gonna end this man's whole career.
Gordon was awake for about 40 hours straight. What a fucking nightmare.
But then he was kept asleep for 20 years. He got his rest alright, lol.
Adrenaline + some drugs from medkits may have "helped" him
The suit will pump adrenaline into yer veins if you get tired, its a magical suit
He was knocked out for a few hours at at least 2 points in the game. That's more than enough sleep, you can stay up for 24 hours in a situation like the one he was in.

"This place is a lot bigger than I thought..."
- Black Mesa Security
The initial tram ride at the beginning of HL, seems designed to help build that illusion, of just how huge Black Mesa was. I was long impressed with that long tram ride. Those huge doors opening sounded rather ominous. Somehow you could almost sense that a disaster might soon be happening. Whatever were those huge heavy doors for anyway?
"I never thought I'd see a Resonance Cascade, let alone create one..."
- Black Mesa Science Team
"I bet you could get lost in this place really easy."
- Unnamed HECU member
Actually a lot smaller than I thought. Or more precisely, a lot more compact. Didn't realize how much everything is overlapping on different floors.
Given that they had to fit this huge research facility *somewhere* and keep it secret, it'd make sense for it to be as compact as possible.
Barney: That one guy that arrives early at the party, leaves early.
Gordon: Arrives late to the party he's hosting and the fun doesn't begin until he's there.
Shephard: Arrives late at the party he was not informed was happening in his house, nobody listens when he tells them to get out and is left to clean up alone afterwards.

This video made me realize just how much more terrifying Adrian's story is. Barney and Gordon made it out, the HECU were ordered to evacuate, the Black Ops retreated after the thermal nuke was planted, and all that remained within the facility was the aliens and him. He was left behind. He was alone. I'm playing Opposing Force again ... and this makes me feel even more dread. That feeling of total isolation and abandonment. When you know that no Backup is coming. No help is on the way. Really sets the mood.

Also, it somehow gets very cold and lonely once Shephard remains alone in the facility. I know the three main characters were not a team but I just can't get rid of that "left behind" feeling. Depressing and disturbing.
I think that's one reason I love OP so much more on an emotional level than the game proper - you don't know jack about this Shepard guy, he's the most random, anonymous grunt archetype, but when you're alone with Shepard you bond with the character all the same. There's a level of confusion and being overwhelmed that's not present in the laser-focused main campaign. You're journeying through the circles of hell. Halo: ODST achieved much the same thing in a similar way, though imo more 'stylish'. That might be why looking back it's the Halo game I think of most fondly. Gordon created the hell and saw it manifest, Barney peace'd the fuck out while the getting was good, Shep is left to wander around the aftermath - the hellscape now fully formed and the alien organisms now acclimatizing to their new environment.
It feels like everybody is dead or evacuated and that you’re just stuck for eternity.

The fact that Shephard is the last one to escape Black Mesa is terrifying, because he experiences the final hours of the aftermath with almost no one else by his side. He's completely alone in hell by the part where he's fighting Gene Worm and probably would've died in the nuclear blast if it wasn't for the G-Man pulling him out of there.
Beat The Dragon If there wasn't Gman there wouldn't have been a nuclear explosion. Shepherd disables the Warhead and later you can see the Gman enabling it.
Yes, but then the G-Man pulls Shephard out of the facility after he kills the Gene Worm and the nuke explodes right after. If G-Man didn't put Shephard in stasis, he would've been incinerated.

@@TheD736 wasnt that g man who killed the soldiers and turned it on to test gordon?
Could you imagine how terrifying it was for the scientists? And that announcement system that won't shut up about failures and needed support in sectors. It's must been hell for the military too. Being left out by the pullout, or being dispatched without them knowing what their orders are. Every time an air unit tries to provide something it goes down. Also, that fucking emergency broadcast.
Seeing all this from one perspective as a whole is terrifying.
Not only that, have in mind also that this may be showing as a real administrator from Black Mesa... what we've saw in the video... Imagine you're at charge of all that, you're doing your duties, and suddenly all starts falling appart... I just imagine how terrifyied should that person be, because he wouldn't've seen the three protagonist cameras...
I just think of being at my desktop, and from one moment to the other main failures begin, people starts dying, an unknown and unstoppable biological force starts taking over... after that the military start to take over... after that even they, scared as fuck, start to leave...
Me sitting behind that desk... wouldn't know what to do... should i leave for my own personal salvation? or should i stay and try to help others eventually putting an end to my life?
Funny fact: according to wiki of HL the administrator of Black Mesa at that time is Wallace Breen.

Yeah, it's really dreadful, seeing it from this perspective
Imagine a game where you are in the Black Mesa Disaster and are stuck in a control room after the explosion caused a collapse. You know will not escape alive. However, you can use the room to control the facility in a variety of ways, such as opening and locking doors, activating turrets, putting scientist calls for help over the VOX, activating robots to move crates, or changing machinery settings to either prevent or cause explosions and leaks. Essentially, you would be the facility itself. You would occasionally be able to catch glances of Freeman and other notable figures on the security cameras. Your goal is to protect and allow as many scientists to escape the facility alive before the black ops nuke is detonated.
As the facility deteriorates, the game would get harder as more things start to break down and become unusable. You would also have to constantly fight against HECU and Xen trying to hack and take over the facility’s systems.
Duuuude you are a genius with that idea I love it marry me plz

Echnew Shit I just realized that, noice

A couple of interesting things I noticed:
- Barney is technically the first of the three to go to Xen.
- When Blue Shift ended, the Saved number went up from 64 to 68. I wonder if that includes Alyx because we've yet to see what happened to Rosenburg.
- Black Mesa apparently has a decathlon. Freeman probably would've won it easily.
- Freeman cold-shoulders the fuck out of a Headcrab at 23:21.
- Military cuts loses on Freeman and evacuate around same time as Shepherd arrives. Guess his unit really was late.
- Genomes (Evolved Zombies) first appear in OP around 8 hours after Resonance Cascade starts, so eight hours is rough estimate of time for evolution on zombies to take effect?
- Actual Forget about Freeman radio message is first transmitted shortly before Freeman himself hears it. Likely on loop as final message from Military.
- 55:00 Gordon kills 5 aliens in time it takes for engineer to cut through steel door. No wonder they never stood a chance.
Some problems I noticed:
Gordon actually was the first to go to Xen. It happens right after the Resonance Cascade. Alyx is not included in the jump of saved from 64 to 68. She is "extracted" by G-Man at a later or earlier time. Also the term is "Gonomes" and it was probably autocorrect. Shepard's unit was late. The thing is, the portal to Xen Freeman travels with is synced. The Opposing Force Expansion has you go into the teleport chamber right as Gordon jumps in. Yeah Freeman would win that Decathlon. Also the H.E.C.U. were not the best in opening doors quickly, but they never stood a chance to Gordon.
@@jonaskovamees6948 Also, to be pedantic, Freeman was not the first human to go to Xen, but definitely the first protagonist.Well, that's true if you believe that the other human bodies on Xen occurred before the RC, but it could be that they tried to escape the complex using portals and ended up there. Who knows
Actually, Shepherd arrived in one of first waves during "We've got hostiles", people get this wrong really often.

I love how at 57:05 Shepard and Freeman intersect for the briefest of moments, but at the time Shepard only has bits and pieces about Freeman while Freeman has no idea Shepard is behind him when he leaps through the portal. The tracking on the map is excellent as Freeman's orange blip fades and disappears leaving just Shepard's green blip the last trackable player in Black Mesa.
But Shepard is not behind Gordon, in HL1. I am pretty sure, if I replay the game, I could look around and look around some more, and never see Shepard. Shepard following Gordon, is after-the-fact editing of the HL storyline, so as to tie Opposing Force into the original HL storyline, and I love how well that they did it. Azure Sheep does an even more radical after-the-fact editing of the storyline, in the area where Barney and Gordon enter the same level. Gone is that poor security guard that gets shot mid-sentence by the Special Forces ninjas as Gordon is riding up on the freight elevator. Yet Barney is unable to stop Gordon from getting ambushed. Is that Gordon's destiny or what?
I liked in Blue Shift, how the scientist criticizes Gordon and Lamba Labs for their insane mission, and he says that he just wants to get out of there. Another nice tie-in to the HL story.
@@yosefmacgruber1920
Shepard was later included in the port of the original HL game for PS2.
@@kompuglobalhypermega
I noticed recently, in watching YT playing of the original HL game, seeing somebody running else around right before Gordon Freeman jumps into the portal and goes to Xen. Who was that? Just a security guard who is maybe helping to fight the alien attacks? Or was that actually Shepard? A little "historical revisionism" after the fact? It could be easy to miss that detail, if I was too focused upon my game play and not actually looking for it. That is a nice detail for them to have fixed, in order to make the bigger HL story to be more consistant and believable. More than I might have expected. So it wasn't pre-planned with the original HL as a possible tie-in to the _Opposing Force_ sequel?
But wasn't there a similar scene in _Azure Sheep_ in which you pass through that lab also? But maybe that is after Gordon already lept into the portal? And maybe it was too late to revise the original HL for that, or perhaps some do not consider _Asure Sheep_ to be HL canon?
I was glad to see that my PS2 version, I seem to recall actually testing it after seeing it on YT, had the easter egg in which Gordon can exit the test labs area and return to where he got off the tram, his weight added to the broken catwalk causes the catwalk to collapse. Gordon doesn't fall, but the scientist out there on the catwalk is doomed and cries out "Gordon!"
BTW, I found some "unreality" in HL playing around with the Invincible cheat on my PS2. With that, you can jump off of the catwalk to the normally "fatal fall" floor below, and then walk around the bend from where the tram came from. What? It is just a dead-end at just around the curved bend, out of sight normally of the camera. Where is all that scenery we saw on the tram ride? It shows that it does not at all exist, in the current level load. It was a completely separate level, done cleverly to make it look like the two levels seamlessly connect to one another, when actually, they do not.
It would have been cool, had the game somehow triggered the "irreversible" previous level load, and allowed for me to continue to walk around the tram ride area. I am not sure how I could get back to the height of the tram though, as there likely are no steps nor ladders by which to reach any of those areas that I saw on the tram ride.
If you jump into the same portal Freeman did you would fall next to the platform and into the abyss, which then a screen similar to ones that would appear if alyx dies in HL2 saying “tried to create temporal paradox” or something
It´s really sad how just within minutes after the resonance cascade, however long it took Gordon to regain consciousness 50 people die.
Ironic that being the one to (albeit unknowingly) start the resonance cascade probably put him the best possible place to be during the first minutes of the invasion.

As if the alien mutants were not bad enough. Soldiers and special ops. What awful chaos. I am glad it was just a video game. Or was it perhaps a warning?
@@user-ev7fw9cf2s Race is an illusory concept. If we were alive in the early 20th century, French conservative politicians would be freaking out about "hun blood sullying the good French race" and the need to classify people based on their "Frenchness" and deport people who are too "Germanic" - the Czechs would be going into their newly-established borderlands and ordaining the people there as "Czechs" regardless of what language or culture they adhered in order to make their census stats - (and with it their legitimacy as a newly-created Nation) - seem more monolithic.
Many "race scientists" would be classifying people of Southern Europe and Central/South America as the "Latins" - a separate, more distinct group less "white" than other "races" - and politicians in the US would use this phony academic appraisal to justify cutting off immigration of the "Latins" - lest the good Anglo-American race be sullied with Catholicism and dark complexions. As people view the world on a bigger scale, the groups become more monolithic. Suddenly, the former "Latins" have their honorary white cards because it's more pertinent for some people to hate on people more distant - and this deemed more foreign.
My point is that race isn't concrete. It's conceptual and not even science can stand stationary when caught in the current of time.
I have these strange feelings when watching each segment of this:
1. Beginning: Before the resonance cascade it's just a normal day in Black Mesa it has a nice feeling of peace and safety.
2. The resonance begins: Everything is getting chaotic everyone is scrambled, scared and don't know what is happening. All alien creatures start to appear.
3. The conflict deepens: More creatures arrive. People try to get out and the military is sent to clean things up. By that point some are actually reaching the surface.
4. The battles between people, xen, and the main heroes: Many casualties in the Black Mesa. The place is getting abandoned. Scientists, Security Guards, and Grunts are either dying or escaping. Soldiers come in large numbers initially having the complete control over the surface and are killing the aliens (and personnel) in large numbers. The creatures start to get their environment into Black Mesa. Shepherd arrives as one of the last grunts at this point and the satellite rocket has been launched. Barney escaped.
5. Loneliness: Black Mesa is filled with Xen flora and fauna and X race appears. The facility is very destroyed and Black Ops arrive. Gordon reaches Lambda complex and Shephard sees him teleport.
6. End of Black Mesa: The Xen seems to have completely overrun Black Mesa. 90% of people died or disappeared and the facility is as someone else in the comments put it "cold". It is an alien environment now. Black Ops place the nuke and Gordon fights in Xen. When he's put in stasis Shepherd reaches that big worm thing and kills it. Then the nuke explodes and it's over.
It's a shame that this doesn't include Decay but it is featured in another video which is also very detailed.
Black Mesa Incident is a bit like the Chernobyl accident to me. It started as a mundane workday. The test went wrong people start to panic and die. Then the Military arrives and the environment is getting pretty dangerous. Then in the end the whole area is abandoned by people. The only difference is that Chernobyl didn't get nuked.
Now as I edit this comment which has been left as a mess a long time ago I realize that Half-Life 1 as a whole reminds me a lot of The End of Evangelion and Evangelion in general. Both series started in the 90s and had similar 90s aesthetics. Both were about alien (I guess you can call it that) invasion and both had military sent into a science facility, a large portion of which is underground. Both ended in near extinction of humanity in the long run and the list goes on. I know that neither inspired another since you can probably find similarities in many other series but I thought I'd mention this.
Also Chernobyl did not have the same catastrophic effect as Black Mesa did
@@roger5555ful nah, no global portal storms or 7 hours war but it did spray radioactive dust across most of Europe
@@roger5555ful I know it didn't. But it's basically a very scaled down version of the Black Mesa facility without aliens.

LanceTheBlueKnight When playing hl1 you see barney banging at a door in the beginning. In blue shift you see Gordon go past. Pink Sugar image what it was like for the other scientist's besides Barney.
Just remember that the casualties only scratch the surface of what the actual number of lives lost would’ve been during the incident. Only the people you see, scientists and security personnel... if you add up the unseen casualties of what would’ve been hundreds of staff, the unseen engineers and maintenance team that kept Black Mesa running, the contractors and site visitors during that day, the military personnel, the civilians in the surrounding area. When you think of those people, you begin to understand how grim this tale really was.
Also, as someone else in the comments pointed out - the portal storms that brought Xen wildlife to Earth occurred worldwide. Sure, it'd have probably been worse at the epicenter but still.
@@jamessinclair2898 it's said like a billion people died due to the portal storms. then the war came.
And most of those "saved" weren't actually saved - they may have been saved from whatever imminent crisis they were in at the moment one of the characters stumbled across them, but the only ones saved in so far as exiting the facility entirely are the 3 scientists that leave with Barney. Arguably you could say Gordon and Shepard were saved as well. That's 6. As far as we know, all the rest listed as saved actually end up dying in the nuclear blast.
I mean, it seems probable that at least some people who, in the opening minutes of the disaster, happened to be near a facility exit at that moment, went ahead and exited rather than stick around to find out what was going on, so there are probably quite a few more survivors out there we'll never know about. But of the ones we can confirm, the actual saves are precious few indeed.

Nurmayumad well said.
Maybe the half-life saga was the beginning of a new *age* of humanity. With destruction comes a chance for new creation. Humanity does have a chance to rebuild after Half-Life 2, the only way it can do this is to A. Destroy all combine on planet earth B. Destroy all records of Earth on the combine's data banks so that they can't return to it C. reverse engineer combine technology D. get rid of the anti-reproduction field so that babies can be made again. Humanity does have a chance at creating it's own cross-dimensional empire if these prerequisites are met.

New conclusions about the Black Mesa incident gained by new perspective:
1. Black Mesa is a truly gargantuan science facility, and the whole place was burning down in minutes.
2. The death toll at ground zero was pretty much 90%.
3. Barney and Co were the lucky ones.
4. All of this was the result of a particularly pure sample and an overclocked anti-mass spectrometer just 5% over full capacity - which was entirely G-man's plan, as was the nuke that got the Combine's attention.
5. I had no idea the events of Half-life took as long to happen as they did, and to think this was the invasion of Zen species and race X, the Combine were a far off beasty on the horizon and this whole event makes the 7 hours war look like a comparably pleasant snap vs a slow and terrible searing away of humanity from a facility designed to contain and study this alien dimension and its denizens.
6. From the first resonance cascade, Portal storms apparently we're happening all over the world - meaning that for the whole duration of this incident, everywhere on earth was undergoing something similar. No wonder we surrendered after just 7 hours, one interdimensional alien invasion after another and this last one has actual technology that isn't totally meat-based (but is instead mechano-meat based).
It's hard for me to appriciate just how absurdly violent and horrible an event this must've been - and I was playing this game as a kid while totally unaware of both the implications and the impact of what was being said in this event. Then again, I'm fairly sure Half-life is secretly the reason I became a real life scientist (though not in anomalous materials or anything like that).

Same with gordon except he was put in stasis 2 times, first time in half life and the second being after half life 2, and gordon escaped being blasted by the citadel's core by the gman. He also escaped the gmans stasis because of the vortigauns. So just because they leave a disaster by super natural means doesn't mean the didn't escape a close death call yenno. ;)
"I survived Black Mesa and all I got was this lousy guy in a suit."
ShayoX I know Gordon took down the nilanth, but his excape wasn't near as great as Barney's or Adrian's. Barney had nothing but a helmet and a vest, and average weaponry, and Adrian had a vest and his wits, with far greater weaponry. But what made him amazing was that he saw the last hour the facility had, and stopped part of Earth being terroformed by the gene worm. What made Barney great was significantly worse equipment. Though, Gordon's adventure did save an entire species, and the Earth. (For a short time)
20-year-old game,
people still making videos about it, (and those videos still get the views)
if that doesn't tell you it's good, I don't know what will
It has better graphics but the main character animations and sound affects suck in my opinion. Idunno why but i loved the way Gordon moved in HL1 and 2
ET video game is 35 years old and people make videos about it too :P
Joaquín Jiménez find game "black mesa" by crowbar int
It's one of the best games (all categories) in history, probably in the top ten even. It will never get old.
Fucking Preach!
Seriously, this is one of the most intense (atmosphericly and in editing) and awesome videos I've seen in a long while. Like, you could have not put in radio chatter and the ambience. But you did! I really felt the eerieness and the tense moments just from looking at the map; it really adds to the emotions of the game. Time and casualty counter are a nice touch as well!
Overall, very well-put together video. It does the entire Black Mesa facility of the first Half-Life justice by showing us real-time disaster alerts, information, and tracking of each of the protagonists' locations (to be honest, never really thought of how big the entire facility was until you showed the size and depth of it).
its from call of duty lol, you can hear them talking about the white house and killing russians. Had the opposite effect for me since none of that happens in half life
The background radio chatter is from MW2.
lol glad im not the only one that spotted the MW2 background radio chatter (hanging around listening to the radio chatter at the beginning of "of their own accord" has payed off)
Three days after the Black Mesa incident: Now we have to rest
7 hours later: WTF DUDE
You god damn right
*laughs in Combine*
It’s actually worse than that. The implication is that the portal storms continued for months after the Black Mesa Incident, dumping Xen fauna all over the Earth. And then, once we finally barely got a handle on that by moving into large populated cities where it was easier to manage the infestation, then the Combine finally came in and stomped humanity in seven hours.
For reference, we know that the Black Mesa Incident took place after 1998 but before 2001, probably in May 2000 (fun fact: 9/11 could not have occurred in the Half-Life universe, based on the information we have, because HLA confirms that the BMI was sometime before October 2001, the tie-in material confirms 1998 was the earliest year, and in whatever year it happened it was in May). Portal took place in 2010, ten years after the Black Mesa Incident, which itself took place a month after GLaDOS gassed the Aperture facility, and we know from tie-in material that Portal was after the Seven Hour War (which is why the Combine don’t know about Aperture). Portal 2’s timeline is...iffy. I think it was kept intentionally vague based on whether they wanted to tie in to Half-Life later or not, but based on the decay times of nuclear reactors and assuming that the Aperture reactor wasn’t refueled after GLaDOS was first booted, Portal 2 probably takes place in about 2020. Conveniently, that’s exactly when Half-Life 2 and the episodes takes place. And Half-Life: Alyx is five years before Half-Life 2, or about 2015 or so.
@@Nathan-kk6lb uh... portal 2 happen between 50 and 50,000 years after the events of portal
Combine: Sup' bitches.
A fantastic work on putting 3 games of HL universe on one BIG table! Ambient music during the footage feels nicely chosen aswell.
However, i must admit that Shepherds timing looks incorrect. His appearance in action must've been started a way earlier than the footage shows.
He has arrived with the other troops on day 1. Somewhere when HECU operation on Black Mesa started. i think it happened almost in same time when Gordon reaches the surface on 1st time after disaster starts and meets the HECU military forces. Shepherd's helicopter crashed and he lost his consciousness for several hours. Then he awakens in the complex, rescued by BM personnel.
P.S. Ending of the footage:
- Detonation Detected.
So glad you haven't missed this part :D
must've or must have - never must of
I was kinda hoping the military would mention nuking the facility near the end
Totally agrees with Dante

The military didn't even know it was going to be nuked, so why would or could they mention it? The only people we know of who knew black mesa was going to be nuked were g-man and the black operator special forces and probably the united states government. And since the black ops are there to kill all, even the HECU marines, I doubt that the marines or military command even knew of the nuclear device.
Black Mesa was nuke ? Where is it mentionned ?
The sound editing makes this so atmospheric. Seriously, watching this is gives me chills in my spine.
I've watched this so many times. I've even heard the whole thing various times as I draw or do other stuff. It's only fair after all the effort you put into this. It's amazing. The whole thing gives me chills and makes me feel choked up starting from 5:15. The music build-up, the different screen perspectives, the warning signs spreading across the map and the casualties counter skyrocketing. And when the HECU arrive and replace the Announcement System with their own, it's a grim reminder of the shattered hope you feel when your supposed rescuers are actually there to kill you. And then, at the very end when Adrian's the only one left to escape and the nuclear blast goes off and the casualty/missing counter goes crazy and signal is lost... I can't reiterate enough how well made this is. You're awesome.
marry me
I know, this video is so perfectly constructed. it's amazing.
"The whole thing gives me chills and makes me feel choked up starting from 5:15."
Hahahahahahahahaha, I hate fanatics.
*looks at comments and sees the "Marry Me!" comment*
Me: Ah shit, here we go again!
This perspective of the disaster makes me wish that, if someone ever remakes Blue Shift, I hope they don't end it right after Barney escapes to the parking lot. It couldn't have been as simple as driving out of there. Black Mesa had an emergency broadcast that was ordering people to evacuate the entire state of New Mexico. It would be another perspective on the scale and how much of a disaster this is by having Barney witness the mass evacuation and how the public was reacting.
you're probably aware, they are remaking BL within Black Mesa! only up to chapter 4 so far, but I love that idea. it would be great to see the wider publics reaction to everything
That moment when you realise, Gordon Freeman can survive for about 3 days without food, water, or needing to take a shit. Gordon Freeman is god.
Edit: After reading some of your guys’s comments, there is a possibility that Gordon could survive. But I think that his mental state is fudged up after a long time with the disaster.
he took a nap after the ambush I believe ;)
hev suit
The suit practically has a diaper in it
And he got water in his mouth that he swallowed on multiple occasions
Maybe he was luckily constipated that day
He also got shit and piss in his mouth he swallowed on an occasion during residue processing, most likely. Yeah, Freeman is lucky to still be standing :p
Two things I have learnt from all this:
1) Barney was smart. Dude bounced out of there relatively fast.
2) Gordon really is a machine. Non-stop fighting and movement for about 25 hours.
And to be rewarded with a 20 year long nap.
And 3) adrian was unlucky and got the bottom of the barrel with his situation being abandoned having no back in and stuck in stasis
these games, all happening in one area, all fighting the same battle yet never meeting each other, showing the sides in each individual, a normal guard tasked for maintenance, a lab rat for testing purposes, and a military grunt, expendable and supposed to clean up all the mess remaining. All of these people, these games, when synced, all line up together, to sync in one universe, to sync in a single area, single battlefield. Beautiful. This is the kind of quality you almost never see today, all is planned accordingly. So good and beautifully made. Kind of thing I'd pay for (too bad, got all these as cracks)
How does you having them as cracks prevent you from paying for them?
Fun fact:Shepard actually saw Gordon jumping in the portal in Opposing force And also Shepard met Barney
@@countrymann1150 when did shephard meet barney
@@ChickenMayoSanga Shephard never meets Barney. Whoever said so made it up.
I don't know why but there's a difference between Gordon being alone in Xen, versus Adrian being alone in Black Mesa. Adrian's feels infinitely more empty, like that feeling where everyone from work has left and you're not even close to being done, while Gordon feels more like Matt Damon in The Martian.
