Hi Marlena, might I say that you look gorgeous in these colors! They flatter you and your complexion beautifully! Reminds me of the NARS Orgasm blush color! So pretty on you! My daughter used LaMer for twenty years. I used to tell her that her moisturizer was loaded with petroleum by products and flurocarbons which were found to be carcinogens or cancer causing ingredients. After shew did a little research she started using KBeauty and her skin has never looked so good. Thanks for a great, extremely informative video! 🥰
This is exactly why we watch your videos - giving us the real deal on so called boujee brands - thanks for being such a reliable and dependable source of information!
I'm only a few minutes in. I was unimpressed by LA Mer. Tbh, I had better results from Drunk Elephant, the Ordinary, and the Inky List. Vaseline, A&D ointment, and diaper rash cream offered similar results on my skin.
I live in Western Canada where they are given carte blanch to take the kelp for their products. It is estimated that 40 percent of the kelp has been harvested from the area which affects the environment and the diverse creatures that need the kelp to sustain the food chain. Not just their food chain but ours also. These Companies that make huge amounts of money need to be held accountable to find synthetic alternatives to make their products.
That is so important comment. For the price of 400 dollars for a mix of kelp with Vaseline, they are becoming mega rich while destroying the environment. That is beyond words
I don’t like their moisturizer but I love their eye cream! It is the only eye cream that actually visually helped my under eye and lid area. It removed bumps that no other eye cream did.
Their formulas are much better/more innovative than la mer, but they are still over priced, in my opinion. If you have the money to spend and you like their products, go for it. You can find very similar formulas/ingredients in Korean skincare products for a much better price. I’ve replaced all of my high end skincare with Korean brand products over the past two years and my skin feels/looks better and I have saved a lot of money.
I met someone who sells formulations to the skin care companies so I asked what she would say is the best and she said Augustinas Bader. $375 for a bottle and I loved it so much. Right now it’s too pricey for me but I will buy it again. I think my face looked better than it ever did. But when I go to Sephora or Ulta, I always put a dollop of the Dermalogica rich skin cream on my face and let me tell you it stays on my face the entire day and it’s only $90 so I might be buying that soon, it’s amazing how long it stays on your face and feels amazing.
@@JA-br1np I used Augustinas Bader a couple of years ago in trial sizes. I thought my skin felt better, but I wasn't sure if it was the products or the fact that I hadn't done anything for my skin in a long while. I need to revisit many different things now that I'm taking care of my skin.
I never comment, but just had to because this video blew me away! As someone who does not have the budget for expensive skin care, I loved this! I would love a series on this, as others have mentioned!
Moisturizers over $60/50g are not about quality, they are about lifestyle. La Prairie, La mer, Barbara Sturm, etc. do not offer anything supernatural that a jar several times cheaper cannot do. It is just that some people like to use luxury brands, and if they can afford it, then why not. It is none of our business how people spend their money. But for those who believe that more expensive means better (and buy expensive cosmetics beyond their means in the hope of magic) I have bad news. Over the past 20 years, I've tested countless skincare products at all price points (including some ridiculously expensive ones), and now my skincare routine costs me about $70/month. My skin feels great, and so does my wallet.
First off, yes, please consider the earlier suggestion of your own skincare line! Aside from your own skin and complexion, your integrity and honesty will knock it out of the park. If only this could happen; we can always wish! Am so grateful for your channel! Telling it like it is is so refreshing and brave not to mention appreciated!
@@omomo202 YES! Paula Begoun! Founder of Paula's Choice. I remember researching this because the way that book was written and her product descriptions on her brand has the same ring!!!! 😂❤
What blows me away is that I said pretty much the same important points that she said on here a few years back as a comment ( let me say, it was a bit long comment ) regarding the ingredients, the price for the moisturizer etc and I got so blasted, reamed, names called at etc and very disrespectful comments back from those that loved that brand and from just people thinking i was " judgy " soooo, i am glad that Marlena made a full video regarding this brand's moisturizer and she said everything i pretty much said and am glad that people are seeing what she is talking about.
I used it once because I had forgotten mine, OMG! So greasy, smelled like Nivea, my skin hated it. Couldn't wait to get it off my face. Thanks for these deep dives Marlena, you've confirmed yet again, that my feelings were validated. For $400 I could have several treatments at the salon, and I know I'll feel a lot better about that! Been a fan for a long time Marlena, love your videos and advice, happy to tune in. ❤❤
I've used PONDS cold cream since my grandmother introduced me to it when I was 15. Over four decades later and I still use it. So when I got a sample of la mer, I immediately said, OMG, this is a lighter version of Ponds cold cream and laughed my ass off!!! I have used my PCC as a face mask, lightly as a moisturizer and to remove makeup. It's still the best to me! I still laugh when I think about trying la mert!
I fell into the scam of La Mer & honestly didn’t notice a difference in my skin. The only thing I have left is the body crème which imo isn’t worth the price. Love this video. Can you do one on the Prada skincare? ❤
Thank you for this. It just confirmed what I have always said about La Mer. For 40 years this cream has been forced on me at the counters. I have very dry skin and it has never done anything for me. I still have a small tub I’m trying to empty, but I dislike the smell so much that I have a hard time using it up. I use the Elemis creames you mentioned and they hydrate my skin much better.
Marlena, I am sitting here in utter shock as I had no idea how cheap their ingredients are. I have had the luxury to be invited to a LaMer Spa experience and it was absolutely wonderful and I've never felt more pampered in my life. However, while watching you go through the list of ingredients my jaw was dropping to the ground. I know that they harvest the kelp off the coast of Canada (if my memory serves me correctly) and that the kelp goes through a huge fermentation routine (it's a very long process) and supposedly that is why their price is so expensive. With that being said, I think sea kelp is an amazing ingredient for our skin, but using mineral oil and petroleum jelly to mix it with is so basic and like you said, cheap, cheap, cheap. I'm totally rethinking my thoughts on this cream. I have used it several times a week ( for over a year but only at night) as I have very dry skin and love the way my face looks and feels when I wake up. I would like to do a deep dive and test a couple of other products to see how I look after a couple of months. Needless to say, I appreciate this educational video so much as it does make me wonder. Hugs, KC
I have used it for year and I totally love it! It is super healing when my skin is angry! The seaweed is harvested for this product exclusively! But you do you!
@@giulitorelli I do like it a lot but just shocked at a few of the ingredients but I do know the expense of the sea kelp is the fermentation process. I used it last night before bed and once again love the look and feel of my face this am. KC
As a fellow very dry nothing compares to the softness of Charlotte Tilbury magic night cream. Just need the tiniest amount melted between fingers and patted it
La Mer (the original cream) is amazing, no wonder why it has been so popular for so many years..is because IT WORKS, it has healed my skin! I agree it could cost less, but is my OG face cream and i will keep using it!
Hey if you like it and have the money to spend, there’s nothing wrong with using la mer. There are just a lot better/more effective moisturizers out there at a much better price.
Thanks Marlene!!! The most expensive moisturizer I ever received was by a company called Kat Burki. I got it in a package I didn't pay for it, but it was really good. However I have found some Korean skincare that is just as good at much less money. Korean skin care is just amazing! Just my opinion
Korean skincare/ cosmetics is great but Koreans have their own textures (both innovative and those the Asia's like - much lighter). I personally don't like their creams, so I use cheap East European cosmetics.
I also read ingredient-decks in skincare, and am aware of these cheap ingredients in the La Mer cream. I tried it from a friend many years ago, and was not amazed - I have not and will never ever spend my hard-earned coins on this product! Thanks for sharing the info❣️
Nivea classic in the metal pot. It's a cold cream what was used for a long time here in Germany, sadly now it is not used as much anymore. My grandmother died in 2005 and she was 83, her skin was flawless with very few lines. She only used Nivea classic in the blue metal pot.
I live in Germany and people still definitely use it here! I, among many others use it and will never stop using it. I use it on my body and not my face though, because it’s simply not compatible with my oily skin on my face.
@@pippavombr5856I got caught up in the hype about Nivea being the same as La Mer and grandmothers had beautiful skin etc.., so I bought 3 small metal pots for $1 each to see if I liked it and to give one to my daughter. I put it on the back of my hand and the smell was so god awful gag I couldn’t get it off my hand fast enough and threw all of it away as fast as I could. I’m nauseous just thinking about that smell and it was several years ago I had that experience. That’s the nastiest stuff I’ve ever run across.
THANK YOU MARLENA ❣️ I have talked to everybody and.., for decades about LaMer scam of products - and even since 2015 with “skincare UA-camrs” “. I’m so happy I have never had the budget to buy the product. It has never been in my budget. My budget saved me. Thank you Marlena for saying out loud what I’ve always suspected.
I made my own skin care for 17 years and used to replicate high-end products and, in some cases, made totally new products with only the best ingredients. I aold things for a fraction of the price. If I had the space, I'd start again. Thank you for doing this!❤
Thank you for this. I never had the money to spend on LaMer but I always wondered what's so special about it to be so pricey. Very informative. Thanks.
Nivea cream is my favorite moisturizer i just rub a good amount in my hands and put it all over my face I then leave it to sink into my skin afterwards it leaves it all soft I'm 54 but people think I'm in my 20s of course I also give glory to God. Having him gives me a supernatural glow.
i personally have used la mer in the past i did not care for the moisturizer watching this video i know now why..... i thank you for this video i also heard there is no difference between their product and nivea keep it coming girl!
A note on Elemis…if you are sensitive to highly scented creams, Elemis is highly scented. I have super sensitive skin and Elemis burned my skin. Will never use it again!
@marlena what eyeshadow are you wearing? It’s so stunning! And the lipstick? It is so funny you did this video I just finished James Welch’s video on the history of La Mer and the story of this brand is more interesting than the actual product 😂
I remember reading that La Mer is basically Vaseline years ago, absolutely loved your ingredients deep dive in this video! I've been using the Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream and my skin loves it during the winter months! I did get a free sample of the Creme de La Mer awhile back and could not believe the hype, it did not break me out but it certainly wasn't life changing.
Marlena thank you for this! You look amazing and so beautiful!! Thank you for unlocking this, i remember getting a sample size of la mer and wanting it to change my life ... And it felt no different than my Neutrogena...
I’ve seen a lot of articles suggesting that it’s labour intensive to produce and use the meticulous fermentation which is used to extract the nutrients. Miracle Broth is as essential to Crème de la Mer as the sea itself. Fermentation is an art that works like alchemy. Individual ingredients can undergo a metabolic process that transforms them into micronutrients that the skin can more readily recognize and receive. This youth-renewing elixir floods skin with energy. Crafted with a blend of sea kelp, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, Miracle Broth undergoes 3 to 4 months of fermentation and exposure to light and sound waves, maximising its energetic potential. I’m not sure that you’ve looked into how the ingredients have been produced?? It’s not just about ingredients used, it’s about what they do to the ingredients. Whether this is true, I don’t know, but I’m tired of people not fully looking into this company and the formulation process completely. It’s not giving a non biased opinion of the product. Would I pay so much for a cream, no. But please don’t follow every other channel where it’s not throughly looked into.
There are A LOT of companies that use various fermented ingredients (sea kelp, rice, ginseng, propolis, etc) in their skincare products and charge a fraction of the price and is arguably more effective. The creator of la mer thinking playing music to the fermenting sea kelp is worth charging hundreds of dollars is just silly.
@TJ-bn2cn You're totally correct. She also totally flubbed the origin story behind La Mer which was created by Aerospace Physicist Max Huber after suffering really bad burns in a lab accident. He set about creating a formula that would heal his face. This was the 1950s....NOT 1981. If she can't even get the history of the brand right how am I supposed to believe the rest of this video? I use La Mer when my face is REALLY dry (I live in Alaska where we have 7 mos of winter) and it helps soothe my skin. I know they're pretty expensive but I can afford it as a treat. However I also love K beauty and many other skincare brands too. La Mer will always have a special place in my heart.
You go girl I love when you give us all these insights. You’re the best and so honest you are the true deal. I love you so much and have believed in you for so so many years. I’m truly a big fan of yours and I mention you gave me a chance with your company many years ago and I am so appreciative still to this day for that.❤❤
Im embarrassed to admit that i do have it, and everything you've said in this video makes sense 😅 Im forcing myself to get through it so i can alleviate some of the guilt over the price. Then i will go back to my nivea tubes. Lessons have been learned
I tried it too (and the serum) and they worked great. My skin looked healthy and moisturized and I had no breakouts or adverse effects. But it was not worth the price. I do like the smell and purchased Nivea to compare. The consistency is the same and they are the same moisturizers basically. The seaweed mix is the only difference. Mixed Makeup made a great video I watched a few years ago before I tried La Mer. ua-cam.com/video/tOVpEJ7HPls/v-deo.html
Thank you for the info i’ve never use LaMer , but I appreciate you taking the time to investigate the ingredients. I use dermalogica, and it is expensive, I do see a difference in my skin and I love it.
I love it. I have tried many brands and to be honest it does work. Is it possible there are degrees of quality of these products? And also is it possible it’s a special seaweed thing?
Yes, it is a special kind of seaweed. She is speaking only based on theoretical knowledge…she didn’t even try it for a period of time to see if it really works or not. For me La Mer is the brand that completely changed my perception of skin care - I cannot compare it to anything else. I’ve been using the moisturizing soft cream for 3 years now.
@@bilqn4eto777I’ve tried many skin products over the years and my super sensitive skin loves it! When I have freak outs from other products, it calms my skin. Maybe the combo is what my skin loves? I’ve even tried the cheaper moisturizer embryolisse (original and sensitive) and my skin was not happy. I am always trying new things, so I may try the moisturizer mentioned in the video at some point. 🤷🏻♀️
I've never been tempted to try La Mer, and now I know the ingredients I wouldn't choose it even if was only a fiver. Vaseline and baby oil on my face are a recipe for bad skin, and really drying. My mum would be happy with it though, she could use mineral oil with no problems 😊xx
Dear Marlena you are the best !! Thank you very very much for sharing this I’ve been getting it, thinking it’s a special product 🤦🏻♀️😔 thanks to you now I know. 💕💕💕💕
More than 20 years ago I bought a jar of Creme de la Mer because I have skin problems. A) It felt just like the Nivea cream (in the blue metal jar) that my grandmother used to use (and she had great skin even at 95!) and B) La Mer didn't work on my skin problems.
Thank you so much Marlena!! Thank you for giving us the truth. I loved your Makeup Geek products and bought alot of them. You are such an honest, no nonsense content creator - you have seen it all. Many Blessings Marlena!!
I hope this video came in sooner. Just bought the tub 1 and a half month ago. Some did say that it's not the ingredients, but the formulation or the process itself. Bull. Broke me out instantly.. but I had to finish the tub. Once i got it out of my routine, no more new breakouts. Skin started healing again. I use the cetaphil moisturizer now. Way way better. Never Again. I so regret this.
I read the title and immediately thought “duh” and I swear it’s like everytime a brand incorporates seaweed the price goes up astronomically (reminds me of the Uber expensive scam products that people used to pedal in malls). And honestly the packaging is sooo lack luster for a $400 moisturizer, I would expect it to be BEAUTIFUL.
Love your honesty, I must admit I've become a bit jaded with some of the influencers I've been following for awhile as they don't always seem genuine in their opinions. Please tell me what eyeshadow you were wearing in this video, it is gorgeous.
Thank you for giving us 2 good options! Ordering Mario Badescu today - sometimes my TJMaxx has his line! Never tried LaMer. I just don't believe you have to spend that kind of money on skin care. There are so many great affordable products available! I do like high end products but like to save money!
Looking at the negative comments about La Mer I found the most consistent comment was that it is too thick. When I initially purchased this I was told to use a relatively small amount, like the size of a nickel or a quarter or less and then warm it up by rubbing between the hands on the fingers. When you do that the application feels silky on the skin and almost like a liquid, not at all greasy or heavy. I was also told that the formula works to reduce redness and sensitivity. And indeed, I only use it in the winter when my skin is very, very dry and is easily irritated. When used this way I never have sensitive, red skin for the entire winter. I do not find that other moisturizers have this same ability to soothe the skin and make it less reactive.
Didn’t LaMer report their product contained a secret marine complex product that made it so effective. It’s not how I would spend my money but it has certainly been hyped up! Thank you for the info- knowledge is power!!!
I was literally just thinking about you yesterday! I had to do a make up purge and my lippies from you were used up lol I miss them so much, such a great formula you had!
Ohhh how she’s so right ! I know i worked for 20 yrs with this brand and others let me just say neutrogena is amazing! And it’s not lying to u insane!! Finally someone spoke up !! Thank u for telling everyone ur right on !
This is so validating to me because I said it looked just like the Mario Badescu !!! I agree with everything you said about the other creams. Thank you for this!!!
My mom is a big la mer user! Shes been buying it for years and to be fair she isn’t rich or anything (she gets “deals” and sets). Shes given me samples and honestly I’m not sold. I didn’t notice anything amazing. I get great results for a fraction of the price with lanaige or glow recipe (even some elf skin care)
It’s interesting because I have tried so much skincare and honestly La Mer is the only one that was amazing for my skin. I had received a lot of samples my SA, I thought it was all talk but the proof was in my sensitive skin. I’m 43 and it has really been incredible for me. You only need to use a super small amount and I can definitely use it under makeup. I guess I am the exception since it helped with my eczema as well. 🤷♀️
I’ve had excema all my life and I tried La Mer with no success. It actually broke me out. My determatologist told me to use La Roche Posay triple lipicar creme. It’s pretty good.
i’m with you, love la mer, i had a bad burn with a scar on my skin and used it and it went away… anywho, i’ve been using la mer for over 30 years, i get complimented all the time on my skin so i will still use this 😂
Unfortunately I use lamer full range and I have tried to find dupes and all that to hate lamer but I didn’t find one reason to hate it. I guess lamer is for our age younger people will never understand middle age skin problems
Marlena, the algae which are the first ingredient in LaMer are called Macrocystis pyrifera, not just any algae. Maybe it is important for the product composition? I've never tried any La Mer product, but there are people who swear by it. I'm just curious about the effects on the skin
Macrocystis pyrifera is the technical term for brown algae- aka kelp. Kelp does have benefits to the skin as it’s in many skincare products but the cost of that material wouldn’t still warrant a $400 price tag vs other brands who also use it and charge substantially less.
I got a sample years ago as well and it broke me out too. My skin isn’t sensitive and I can literally use almost anything and I’m fine. It still intrigues me though (I love skincare) 🤣. I’ll stick to my Tatcha. You look beautiful, Marlena! ❤
Oh! Oh! I have a question. Why are people still buying "collagen" cream when we know there isn't a cream or powder that manufactures collagen in the skin?
Okay I don’t know if I qualify for this subject but I use the algenist sleeping collagen cream but it’s a vegan collagen. I can remember the science on it but I had been going through all kinds of wierd with my skin and when I tried it out my skin did actually appear to be overall better in 10 days like the claim. Every once in a while I will go off it and try other things and I’m never happy. And trust me I’m trying because I’d love to save money. I don’t really care about collagen, I just care about feeling better about myself so I just keep trying other things and going back to Algenist 🤷🏼♀️
But it's a very nice humectant. I buy it during the winter because it's very moisturizing and my skin loves it. I do know, however, that it won't produce collagen 😂
@@tammystilettocollagen is only and only animal product. Plant based collagen does not exist. Whatever made your skin looking better wasn’t the collagen.

It’s actually Sea Kelp bioferment which is not as cheap as seaweed powder so there’s that . I’ve made creams and adding powders to moisturizer doesn’t work. But yes get yourself a jar of Nivea and mix some bioferment into it and bobs your La Mer.

Love when you call these companies out of their BS ❤❤
I don’t like their moisturizer but I love their eye cream! It is the only eye cream that actually visually helped my under eye and lid area. It removed bumps that no other eye cream did.
Augustina Bader is also very expensive… I’d like to know thoughts on that cream… 😊
@@lindseystein9676 thank you for sharing your thoughts.. it helps when one is making decisions on expensive skincare.
@@JA-br1np Thanks for sharing your thoughts and also the tip for Dermalogica cream… appreciate it!!
@@JA-br1np I used Augustinas Bader a couple of years ago in trial sizes. I thought my skin felt better, but I wasn't sure if it was the products or the fact that I hadn't done anything for my skin in a long while. I need to revisit many different things now that I'm taking care of my skin.
Love this video! Can you please make this into a series?!
👏👏👏
‘I need a cocktail for this!” - hysterical 😂

Please ma'am, can you do the same for hair products? Thanks@@MarlenaStell
I'm so glad I borrowed the book "Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me" in the 90's....Saved me soooo much money!!

I appreciate you so, so much !
What blows me away is that I said pretty much the same important points that she said on here a few years back as a comment ( let me say, it was a bit long comment ) regarding the ingredients, the price for the moisturizer etc and I got so blasted, reamed, names called at etc and very disrespectful comments back from those that loved that brand and from just people thinking i was
" judgy " soooo, i am glad that Marlena made a full video regarding this brand's moisturizer and she said everything i pretty much said and am glad that people are seeing what she is talking about.
Bless you, Marlena , for keeping it real. Demystifying the cosmetics industry is so important for us consumers. ❤
Have you forgiven yourself?
My father was a chemist and he said nothing will work better on your skin than Ponds.
I'd be covered in acne in about 3 days if I did that. No, it will not work for everyone.
Cerave is superior. The ceramics to cholesterol ratio has been proven to retain skin barrier
The LaMER TEAM must have had the laugh of their time from the beginning of the launch of this product TO THIS DAY and they must think people is “a product to scam the heck out of people..,”
I wouldn’t even consider buying a moisturizer for $400! Even if I could afford it, what a waste of money! I use good old Cerave love it!
Same here, the non-greasy moisturizer.
I use the Cerave lotion and cleanser in huge pump dispensers and it lasts nearly twelve months…. It suits my skin perfectly.
I love CeraVe!

Thank you for this. I never had the money to spend on LaMer but I always wondered what's so special about it to be so pricey. Very informative. Thanks.
I almost bought one of La mers facial mists but I found one by skin labs that has similar ingredients for $8 and I love it lol

Thank you for this video. I tried a sample of La Mer cream many years ago, and I don't think it did anything for me -- not even moisturizing enough!!

Many people swear on Vaseline for skincare.
I tried the Mario Badescu seaweed cream and it’s nice but I don’t care for the scent. Not for me.
Marlena, you should do a skincare line...your fans would love that!

@TJ-bn2cn
You're totally correct.
I had a serious blackheads on my forehead when I tried Eve Lom massage/cleansing balm. 😢 lesson learned. Love your messages and the kyou❤

I’m truly a big fan of yours and I mention you gave me a chance with your company many years ago and I am so appreciative still to this day for that.❤❤
Im embarrassed to admit that i do have it, and everything you've said in this video makes sense 😅
Im forcing myself to get through it so i can alleviate some of the guilt over the price.

Excellent as always. You are reliable!
Thank you, girlfriend for always keeping it real❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ miss seeing you around at the events😘😘😘
I have been waiting for a video like this about La Mer! Thank you so much for such a detailed video!
That is exactly my experience. Nothing else has calmed my skin like this especially during the winter. 🤷🏻♀️
Best skincare video I've ever seen. Thank you for your transparency.
Didn’t LaMer report their product contained a secret marine complex product that made it so effective. It’s not how I would spend my money but it has certainly been hyped up! Thank you for the info- knowledge is power!!!
Thank you for doing this video!!! I'm an award-winning skincare formulator, and I've been saying for years that LaMer is a scam.
Thank you, Marlena. Will you review the La Mer foundation, please?

This is so validating to me because I said it looked just like the Mario Badescu !!! I agree with everything you said about the other creams. Thank you for this!!!
My mom is a big la mer user! Shes been buying it for years and to be fair she isn’t rich or anything (she gets “deals” and sets). Shes given me samples and honestly I’m not sold. I didn’t notice anything amazing. I get great results for a fraction of the price with lanaige or glow recipe (even some elf skin care)
Hey Marlina,
Please make a video for the foundations suitable for dry skin I loved the previous one for oily skin

Marlena, thank you so much for speaking up and I don't know what Estée Lauder was doing buying this junk.
Making money!
Seaweed is abundant.
It’s everywhere in the earth’s waters.
Why would a product derived from it be expensive?
I would love to see you do a deep dive on Augustinus Bader and La Prairie. Love the education you share on products ❤
@@MarlenaStell OK, thanks, I didn't know that :) I definitely agree that it's not worth that price tag.
I. LOVE LA MER, but im going to give Elemis a try in between using the La Mer
$400!!! And to think that $30 for my Roc was expensive 😂😂
omg, I've been using La Mer for years, so sad... I do love their scent and consistency🤣🤣
I heard it’s Aquaphor/Vasoline about a year ago…that’s why most drugstore brands are better than luxury brands…seriously! 😊
Is the buyer, who I’m not at all intending to put down by saying this, simply ill-informed and thinks you can generate collagen from a topical?
But it's a very nice humectant. I buy it during the winter because it's very moisturizing and my skin loves it. I do know, however, that it won't produce collagen 😂
@@tammystilettocollagen is only and only animal product. Plant based collagen does not exist. Whatever made your skin looking better wasn’t the collagen.
@@kadrikrimm8511 Collagen, and I’m no chemist, has a high molecular weight and doesn’t penetrate the skin. As the commenter above mentioned, it is a great moisturizer.

Thanks for this! We need more of this type of honest review. Coincidentally , I just ordered the Elemis cream since I’ve heard so much about it. Can’t wait to try it!
It’s actually Sea Kelp bioferment which is not as cheap as seaweed powder so there’s that . I’ve made creams and adding powders to moisturizer doesn’t work. But yes get yourself a jar of Nivea and mix some bioferment into it and bobs your La Mer.
Thanks for doing this! I also love the elemis. My fav❤
Oh Marlena... but my skin loves it. Honestly, it works like a dream on my crazy sensitive and temperamental skin. Dream shuttered :(
