- Watch my review of the Lún MEGA D45 high-end carbon wheels with HALO spokes to determine whether these wheels are worth it. I checked their assembly quality in-house and tested them outdoors to assess their pros and cons.¹
I examined their lateral and radial trueness, checked spoke tension and inside of the rim, and put them to the test on different terrains.

I’be never seen the point of carbon spokes. They are just way too stiff for anything but the smoothest road. People are just too obsessed about stiffness. Anyway, spoke tension or trueness of the wheel have nothing to do with disc rubbing. The disc is fixed to the hub and the spokes don’t affect anything there. Great honest review!
I think I understand that. Plus, if you find a combination of comfortable tires, frame, and carbon wheels, the feeling of stiff wheels outweighs the slightly worse ride comfort.
But I agree that a lot of hobby riders give too much weight to stiffness rather than addressing more substantial performance gains, like riding position/clothing, etc.
I know they don’t, maybe I just worded it wrong in the video.

Yes, it would be nice and believe me I would love to do such tests, but the limiting factor is finances. 🤷♂️
