It was a Terrell Owens Eagles jersey and when he was playing he was super hyped up here but then he started acting up to get out of the contract and once he was cut he signed with our biggest rivals. He went from adored to hated, people burnt their jerseys!
I love your point about a casual observer saying you were so happy when, of course, it would not be common to show strangers your true feelings. Life is messy, many have experienced a long process of ups and downs before ending a relationship and so much goes unsaid about why we ended it. Worse, when one person has the power to make the other person miserable, you really have to hide your feelings.
Anyone that asks why did you stay so long has clearly never been in a relationship that is psychologically abusive. I thought everybody has had that spouse that you leave and go back leave and go back leave and go back until you finally figure it out. People that question you about that it really bothers me. Like I said before, This show literally saved my life from a man like that but he wasn’t just psychologically abusive he was physically abusive. Some men are really good at saying I’m sorry
Anyone else watching these videos late because you didn’t know about Holly’s channel until Girls Next Level started? I have to watch these in between impatiently waiting for a new episode on Mondays! 😅 I was 15-17 when Girls Next Door aired, and I was SO obsessed with Holly & Bridget. I never aspired or felt like I would have been sexy enough for something like playboy, but they were so down to earth and seemed so sweet and genuine you felt like they could be your best friend regardless of how “hot” or not you were! I related so much to their love of themes, decorating, holidays, horror/paranormal, vintage, kitsch, etc. Before the show I had never seen girls like me who were super girly, but also into horror and Star Wars at the same time. I think they did a lot to show there can be a lot more to us than one layer, and women can be smart, beautiful, and have quirky interests all at once. Definitely not one dimensional “characters,” and that shined through, even if the producers did try to keep you guys in certain “roles.”
I went to cosmetology school from 2009-2012 and the man who did all the hair for the Marie Antoinette movie came to my school a few times and did a bunch of the hairstyles on some of the girls in my class!!! He was the coolest and so sweet❤️ it was the COOLEST thing that he came multiple times

I liked this episode, but now that I’m 5 episodes in to the Secrets of Playboy revealed and reading your book it’s hard to watch anything about Playboy now. It’s just so much darker than I ever imagined ! There are things stated that I wished I could un-hear. 🙉 the way I thought it was at the mansion compared to truth is terrifying! I bet people would love to hear you opinion and input over the documentary, once the entire series airs. If you were comfortable doing that. If not, I TOTALLY get it.

I must admit, I was a fan of the Girls Next Door and had been recently re-watching episodes too. Then I watched "Secrets of Play," and wow, just wow. Holly, I think you were what finally cracked open this rotten egg. As someone that has gone through toxic relationships, I'm sorry that you went through that and even more sorry that so many people to this day enable what that man did to all of you. His defenders either didn't know the truth because their experiences were different or were just as guilty. The fact that people are denying these negative occurrences after so many people, men and women, have come out with the truth is mind-blowing!
All I had to do was figure out the truth about Dorothy stratten and how she was raped in The grotto and her husband said it was okay and then 3 days later he killed her for it like she could help it. That's all it took for me to see the other side I used to not want to believe it.

God I love these videos. I ended up watching along on Amazon video. It really feels like you’re stepping into another world. I was a kid back in the day but I definitely remember just how different it was compared to today, with the fashion and all that. Victorias Secret was a totally legitimate place to get clothes and shoes and they were really cute. Girls in my high school were all about it. To me, you at the playboy mansion was a special time in history and it’s so cool to see it all and kind of live that life with you, even if it’s cherry picked moments of the whole ice burg. I can see why you were there for it.

For me texts were limited to I think 160 characters and you had to pay per text, so we'd squeeze as much information into one text as possible

Anyone else watching these videos late because you didn’t know about Holly’s channel until Girls Next Level started? I have to watch these in between impatiently waiting for a new episode on Mondays! 😅 I was 15-17 when Girls Next Door aired, and I was SO obsessed with Holly & Bridget. I never aspired or felt like I would have been sexy enough for something like playboy, but they were so down to earth and seemed so sweet and genuine you felt like they could be your best friend regardless of how “hot” or not you were! I related so much to their love of themes, decorating, holidays, horror/paranormal, vintage, kitsch, etc. Before the show I had never seen girls like me who were super girly, but also into horror and Star Wars at the same time. I think they did a lot to show there can be a lot more to us than one layer, and women can be smart, beautiful, and have quirky interests all at once. Definitely not one dimensional “characters,” and that shined through, even if the producers did try to keep you guys in certain “roles.”
I went to cosmetology school from 2009-2012 and the man who did all the hair for the Marie Antoinette movie came to my school a few times and did a bunch of the hairstyles on some of the girls in my class!!! He was the coolest and so sweet❤️ it was the COOLEST thing that he came multiple times

I liked this episode, but now that I’m 5 episodes in to the Secrets of Playboy revealed and reading your book it’s hard to watch anything about Playboy now. It’s just so much darker than I ever imagined ! There are things stated that I wished I could un-hear. 🙉 the way I thought it was at the mansion compared to truth is terrifying! I bet people would love to hear you opinion and input over the documentary, once the entire series airs. If you were comfortable doing that. If not, I TOTALLY get it.
@Samantha Black I never realized the playboy mansion was so dark. Granted it’s a man with multiple partners which some may not like but I thought it was consensual and I thought he was a nice sweet man that loved on all the ladies and that was why they all stayed. I had no idea of the things going on in that mansion and honestly now I wished I didn’t. I’d love to hear Hollys take on what is being said from those earlier years and if stuff like that was still going on when she was there ? I feel like she would never have stayed past day one of it were.
Omg I know!! I feel the same!! I read Hollys book when it was first released because I was already a fan, and she details what was required of them . However, watching the show and hearing/ seeing video of other Womens experiences just really disgusts me. What they made Lovelace do!!! And almost all playmates of the year had to sleep with him!! Wow.

I must admit, I was a fan of the Girls Next Door and had been recently re-watching episodes too. Then I watched "Secrets of Play," and wow, just wow. Holly, I think you were what finally cracked open this rotten egg. As someone that has gone through toxic relationships, I'm sorry that you went through that and even more sorry that so many people to this day enable what that man did to all of you. His defenders either didn't know the truth because their experiences were different or were just as guilty. The fact that people are denying these negative occurrences after so many people, men and women, have come out with the truth is mind-blowing!
All I had to do was figure out the truth about Dorothy stratten and how she was raped in The grotto and her husband said it was okay and then 3 days later he killed her for it like she could help it. That's all it took for me to see the other side I used to not want to believe it.

Yes! Something about Sondra is a tad off, but I do believe her claims are true. Good for her for speaking out (and Holly). People who have done horrible things should be called out.
God I love these videos. I ended up watching along on Amazon video. It really feels like you’re stepping into another world. I was a kid back in the day but I definitely remember just how different it was compared to today, with the fashion and all that. Victorias Secret was a totally legitimate place to get clothes and shoes and they were really cute. Girls in my high school were all about it. To me, you at the playboy mansion was a special time in history and it’s so cool to see it all and kind of live that life with you, even if it’s cherry picked moments of the whole ice burg. I can see why you were there for it.
I don't think that show could ever be repeated. Such a product of it's time, and it's own weird culture.

I mean it was such a good plot focus and when you took it to the golf tournament, I mean hello!!!! Such a wise investment if you ask me. Holly, I loved this episode and it was one of my favorites that I still watch. I think because your a Capricorn people will always think they know you but don't. We act like we're sharing it all but really they only see about 30% lol. Not to mention, we can be so depressed and hide it incredibly well like playing a role at a theme park. Marie Antoinette is a really interesting movie...great ambience. One of my favorites also. Sofia Coppola has some other great films if you've never seen them. My sister lives near the American Zoetrope building in SF...go there for coffee sometimes.
