It's been three and a half years since that meaningful and lovely performance. Manus is now so much more a site of horror with continuing trauma upon trauma experienced by its vulnerable residents. It is the cause of our nation's international shame for the ongoing unconscionable cruelty and inhumanity of our government. Nauru's centre also has some very disturbing issues. Keep singing it, people.

This is very lovely. I live in the US, Arizona to be specific, and I'm a choral singer myself, and I admit I was not aware of Australia's asylum crisis until I happened upon your video and links. It seems remarkably similar to the crisis we are having right now, with children from Central and South America coming over the border by the thousands, fleeing violence and lawlessness in their homelands, and the breathtaking lack of compassion for them among both our citizens and our so-called "leaders." Thank you for this powerful message, one that needs to be shared.

Dear Katy, im not into bashing US, but if u will dig a bit online, you will find verifiable info that almost in every single case of violence in south in central and south america, it was caused by meddlying of US gnmnt in one point in history.

You see, that's the thing....coming across the border, we are a nation that has LAWS. And just coming across the border, regardless of why you're coming across is BREAKING THE LAW. I mean, I assume you don't allow any homeless person off the street to just stroll into your house and help themselves to the contents of your fridge, do you?

@@perriwenplays9215 If you had been born in a country where your life was constantly at risk & the promise of a safer life for yourself and your family appeared attainable, you would probably take it.
Not everyone is born into a life of privilege.

I LOVE what you guys do!! 'The Battle Of Evermore' so splendidly showcased your talents, and this work has very much the same inspired expression of excellence!

Personally, I've assigned my own meaning to the song as a Hurricane Katrina survivor, and seeing the general indifference people away from the event had about the storm after all the cameras left.

And now, it seems like the Harvey situation is the same. People were like 'oh, hey. That's tragic' for about a week. And now, the nation aside from the gulf coast is like 'what hurricane?'

Thank you! What a beautiful beautiful version. I saw Pink Floyd do this in concert and it's always been one of my favorite songs. This version brought happy tears to my eyes.

      A luz esteja virando sombra/
      E jogando sua Mortalha/
      em tudo que sabíamos/
Sem notar com os níveis aumentaram/
levados por um coração de pedra/
      Perceberíamos que estamos todos sozinhos/
      no sonho dos orgulhosos/
      Nas asas da noite/
      Enquanto os dias tremem/
      Onde os calados se unem/
      Num acorde silencioso/
Usando palavras que você achará estranhas/
      e fascinado com eles acendem a chama/
Sinta o novo vento da mudança/
      nas asas da Noite/
      Não dê mais as costas/
      Ao fraco e ao exausto/
      Não dê mais as costas/
      À Frieza Interior/
      Apenas um mundo que
      todos nós devemos compartilhar/
      Não é suficiente parar e olhar /
      É apenas um sonho que
      Acontecerá ...
Não virar mais as costas ?

Вам бы эти слова да в уши! да не в азиатские пилигримные, а послушали бы соседей своих, да издревле, словян! Защитили вас от врага страшного, приняли боль на грудь свою, а вы клянёте нас...
