In memory of the beautiful Sandy Denny.
A person who does not know Led Zeppelin would never guess that this comes from a rock and roll band. And that's why LZ is amazing. It's like drawing a line crossing all the music.
A lot of Zeppelin has a folk like quality so hearing it performed by a choir isn't such a stretch
@@jeremyhoward4437 Well...it IS folk as far as I'm concerned. Most people would call them a heavy metal group...and there is no question they did that genre...and with their connections to the blues...but you want to know how I properly identify Zeppelin in my mind? As a heavy psychedelic folk group. I think when you, I, we, and people look at (er, listen) to their songs you will see (again listen and find) that this more accurately sums up their catalogue than any other way, form, or fashion! Far out, huh?! I have SOOO much to say about this, that, and or it too! RAWK! 😁
Truth
My son Gavin took up the mandolin after I gave him LZ 3 to listen to.
HE HAS Become a really nice player. Gives me such pleasure to play(fiddle) as he throws in some nice Licks. Thank you John Paul Jones.
Zeppelin all the way!!!❤❤❤❤
This is like watching Midsommar The Musical
haha exactly
think the same
Totally !
Phenomenal version. I'm very picky about Led Zeppelin covers. This is the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Thank you ❤️
I like the one done by Heart!
Many in the choir would have been teenagers when L.Z. released the original.
@@juliemanarin4127 Absolutely Julie. This is very good, well worth listening, but Nancy and Ann did it best.
I often think this song is what sets Led Zeppelin apart from other bands. Although they have many masterpieces this one is a masterpiece onto itself and stands along as a shining example of the band’s brilliance.
“ The Battle Of Evermore"
The Queen of Light took her bow
And then she turned to go
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom
And walked the night alone
Oh, dance in the dark of night
Sing to the morning light
The dark Lord rides in force tonight
And time will tell us all
Oh, throw down your plow and hoe
Rest not to lock your homes
Side by side we wait the might
Of the darkest of them all
I hear the horses' thunder down in the valley below
I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow
The apples of the valley hold the seeds of happiness
The ground is rich from tender care
Repay, do not forget, no, no
Dance in the dark of night
Sing to the morning light
The apples turn to brown and black
The tyrant's face is red
Oh war is the common cry
Pick up your swords and fly
The sky is filled with good and bad
That mortals never know
Oh, well, the night is long, the beads of time pass slow
Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow
The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath
The drums will shake the castle wall
The Ringwraiths ride in black, ride on
Sing as you raise your bow
(Ride on)
Shoot straighter than before
No comfort has the fire at night
That lights the face so cold
Oh dance in the dark of night
Sing to the morning light
The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back
Bring it back
At last the sun is shining
The clouds of blue roll by
With flames from the dragon of darkness
The sunlight blinds his eyes
Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back
Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back
Oh now oh now oh now oh, oh now oh now oh now
Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back
Oh now oh now oh now oh, oh now oh now oh now
Bring it bring it bring it bring it
Bring it bring it bring it bring it
Bring it bring it bring it bring it
Zep is so much more than rock n roll.
Zeppelin has many songs of hope and love
Listen to In My Time of Dying
It is beautiful.
The Rain Song
This wins the coolest choir of all time! Totally enjoyed this and can’t imagine all the work that went into the music and the video production! This would have been great to be a part of. Thanks for sharing !
I enjoyed this, too.
Your performance adds another dimension to this powerful song!! Thank you
Led Zeppelin lives on.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Bring it back 💚
A testiment to eternal music
I must commend you all for the amount of work and effort it took to put this all together.
👏👏
there's no denying that this song possesses magical quality, 'cause it was made with magick, a Keltic one
WAOW! I did not expect to get chills, but the images of you all in the water, crushing the apples, dancing with the penants.... tingles. Thank you!
Years ago, I saw an interview with Robert Plant where he was asked what genre he would put Zeppelin's music, and he said folk.
I see lots of beautiful people.
The zeppelin opened a door of fascination into Tolkien's middle earth,a parallel time and place before, now and to come.Magic.
Not here for the first time. Compliments from Munich. Great song 😊
Ever since I heard the rendition I can't get it out of my head. Awesome performance by all.
Bravo !
Every time I hear this rendition , it takes me days to get it out of my head.
I gotta say I'm floored . ... An Outstanding performance. Just wow !
What a masterpiece. Thank you for this interpretation.
This was absolutely fantastic ! Im a huge Led Zeppelin fan and edit their Wiki pages - this blew me away. Look for the live version of this by Led Zeppelin from Maryland - May 28th, 1977 - John Bonham sang the town crier part together with John Paul Jones - it's a fantastic version.
Lord Summerisle will be pleased.
Daaaaaamn. That was gooood.
Beyond excellent effort and interpretation.
Yeah...that works...overtime.
Excellent!
Morning everyone I've got a great idea for our next song, you gonna have to trust me on this one! Glad they did.
This is spiritual. Thank you.
The song is spiritual and about hope and love .
Just as many of Led Zeppelin's songs are
You should listen to I'm My Time of Dying and read the Lyrics simultainiously
Both Page and Plant were heavily into The Lord of the Rings. Page's "Dragon Suit" was Tolkien-inspired (Smaug the Dragon). The beloved, late folk artist Sandy Denny (Fairport Convention) sang on this piece and was the only female to ever contribute to an LZ recording. Other songs that LZ reflected LOTR include, Misty Mountain Hop, Ramble On, and Stairway to Heaven.
As many of their songs . I read the Hobbit and The trilogy twice because of Led Zeppelin. Love LZ and Tolkien
Page's black dragon suit was *NOT* inspired by Lord of the Rings at all.
THe woman who designed and made it, whose nickname is "Coco" (she still lives in Los Angeles) has stated that Jimmy Page wanted the suits for the upcoming Chinese year of the dragon which was 76 - 77. (he got them early in 75) You will notice they are Chinese dragons, and to confirm this, note that JP's astrological star signs are embroidered on the suit.
Page liked Tolkein (not as much as Plant, who wrote all the lyrics)....but the Black Dragon suit had naught to do with Smaug, & EVERYTHING to do with astrology which Page was into much more heavily (along with black Magic etc). As confirmation, HIs Zodiac signs embroidered on the pants to the left of the zipper on the dragon suit are:
JP's Astrological birth sign at the top (Sun sign), which is Capricorn.
JP's Ascending sign (Rising sign), which is Scorpio.
JP's Moon sign, which is Cancer.
I could only get through forty seven seconds. Quawk!
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was beautifully done!

💯
Wow! I love this. Respectful of the original, yet willing to divert in places. Beautifully sang. An elegantly crafted video which is both stylish and humourous. A group of ordinary people putting together a wonderful piece of music and visuals. Congratulations all.
Excellent, if a bit Wicker Man!
Really enjoyed this, so much fun. Very well done to you all.
What a great version of this fabulous song! Absolutely nothing is lost from the original. I love it! Great job!
Brilliant!
blew me off my chair, VERY WELL DONE,,,
Wow that was amazing
I think I got it, it takes 40 people to cover Robert Plant and the late Sandy Denny. Seriously though, nice job and take on this classic.
I sit next to the fire on the English summer night watching the stars listening to this
What amazes me is I hear Robert Plant’s voice in all of the harmonies. He had that ability in the way he bent his voice in distorted and magical ways. That was really fascinating woman’s choir.
Delightful thankyou
Sunday night in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA...just discovered this. It's fantastic. Even if software helped a bit, the choir's ability to end each phrase in tandem is seriously impressive and powerful, and very evocative. What a great rendition. Music unites us.
Me too. very impressive.
Fabulous.
How about that for a tribute to the greatest band ever. Great videography as well.
Totally
different take on covering this LZ classic.....and it really works !!! Rock on !
