Why TRF should people be afraid of disappointing Claire or making her mad about having their own baking techniques? It's not like Claire is the be all end all chef, supposed "Queen" on how to cook food. I mean, there's Gordon Ramsey, Anthony Bourdain, Alton Brown, and so many other top named, more well known chefs than Claire. Plus, there's country, regional, and family recipes handed down for generations. You do you, and let Claire do her own thing.
When you show that much chest, anything is possible. Apple pie. World peace. Anything.

I heard that the Bon Appetit job interview consists of one only and one question: "How do you feel about salt?"
Pretty crazy to me how scared Americans are of salting their food properly considering we're the nation of fast food and potato chips.
"Crust actually has flavour, they should have flavour" That's actually a big reason why I'm not a big fan of pies. It's not that I don't like pies, but most pies I've had have very disappointing crusts. Most people are fine with it if just the filling is good, but I've always like the main dish but also the ingredients carrying it. As an Asian, I care more about good rice just as much as I care about the meat and veggies I eat along with it, likewise with pie; if the crust is bad, I'm not gonna enjoy the pie.
I'm glad Grey Goose got their money's worth with those slow-mo shots of Rick drinking. That's priceless stuff.

BA always posts in the middle of the night where I live. I was about to sleep, but nope! I have to torture myself salivating over this pie while I'm in bed.
The best thing to do with pie crust scraps when you have them is to make some rugelach! Just take the scraps, brush with some melted butter, cover in sugar & cinnamon, roll up, and bake!
It would be very helpful if, when you guys release a video like this, you linked the recipe in the description. It's very frustrating to see something delicious that I'd like to make and have to filter through the Bon Appetit site trying to find it.

I found it! Search “BA’s best deep dish apple pie” the only major difference is the added vodka in the crust and Rick used allspice instead of cloves. He even mentioned it at the end to Carla 😊

If you want the recipe, you have to go to the site, search for the recipe name and filter through the results looking for the right one. It would just be easier if someone slapped the recipe link right in there so we could go straight to it, is all.

Wow, that's an impressive technique & great use of unique ingredients. Far better than 98% of the recipes out there. Not the cheapest or quickest method, but this guy knows what he is doing.
RICK IS MY FAVORITE ... there I said it! I love his style and his Nail Color and way that he Bakes and Cooks I would buy his cookbook if he had one!
I have to say, as a straight man, he makes more feminine clothing/nail polish/styling look really good and yet still enough masculine. Like dang, complete respect, that is hard to pull off.

As a kid, I used to steal the raw maize scraps when tortillas where being made at my church. A little salt and or Tapatío and it was heaven.

That is the most beautiful apple pie I have ever seen. I cannot wait to try this recipe. You had my mouth watering when you took it out of the oven and then when you sliced it oh my goodness I just wanted some so bad. I'm so happy I have apples in the house. Thank you for the recipe.
