- The 142nd Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard is conducting flyovers for Memorial Day, part of a time-honored tradition to pay tribute to fallen military members.
The pilots are scheduled to fly over several cities across the region as part of a roughly 45-minute flight over the state.
Colonel Todd Hofford, a pilot himself, says it’s a moment for Oregonians to reflect and recognize the sacrifices made by the military members we’ve lost.
"The flights are also a public salute to our local communities whom we appreciate and respect, for their support of our Airmen and all those serving throughout our nation. It is an honor to protect and defend the Pacific Northwest and the freedoms which allow us to spend time with our loved ones on this National Holiday,” Hofford said.

I was sound asleep and heard them. They flew right over my apartment
These jets may be taking off from Portland, but the one with WA on the tail is from the 57th Wing at Nellis AFB.
Was the lead from JBLM?
Just saw it 4 months later. No, no USAF fighters in WA. Tail Code WA is for Nellis, NV. Maybe an Oregon pilot over there ?
