One of the few things it's missing that I'm surprised it doesn't have is a ping display when you match with someone in ranked. I already had a couple matches where I fought against 200+ ping players and the matches were rollbacking like crazy. I want to be able to know how our connection is before agreeing.
Something I miss in recent fighting games is the unlockable costumes, in the past the fun part of finishing the story/arcade mode with all characters was not just to unlock the ending but to get a new alternate skin. That was really neat to discover, now alternate costumes are mostly DLCs so not only you don't have the joy of the surprise that you get when you unlock those costumes for the first time but you have to pay additional money for it.

@@hisradiancelordnasty Genius. DFO is definitely fun but the pc version doesn't have native controller support (when I last played). A console port may even just allow for native controller support for PC too. Used to play (M) Monk and (F) Grappler and on controller, ducking weaves for Monk would work so much better for me.
I am having a ton of fun with this game. I have been mainly just doing story mode with each character. Very good game hopefully they get the input delay figured out for PS5 as I only play on console. I don't play much online though. MK11, GG Strive, KOF15 and Now DNF Duel keep the fighting games coming on next generation.
Hope playstation fixes the input delay soon enough because this games needs to have crossplay that would be so sick this game would fr last a longgg time
My question is why don’t you play online I mean after you read the story there’s nothing to do the sky on the video provided all the information there’s only online and story mode other than that there’s really much not to do which isn’t bad for $45 the graphics are amazing the combat is awesome
@@Joshwiththehoodie i mean theres survival mode where theres 100 floors. Im not a casual but i play that when ranked queue is up i find it fun its like playing a minigame
So the rundown seems to be DNF Duel launched in the state Granblue should have been. Rollback, no dumb lobbies like DBFZ or Strive, decent roster, *it just works.* That's very good to hear.
The lobbies are there. The difference is that it isn't forced for Ranked, which is good. Casual play can have lobbies, just don't force that shit in every aspect of the online portion of the game
@@A1phaz0ne Yeah, forgot immediately in the video the casual stuff has it, but for the "just gimmie a match" players they don't have to deal with it, thank god.
As someone who's still pretty new to fighting games, I feel like this game has actually taught me how combos work! Now that we've abstracted aeay the need to twist my thumbs into prezils, I feel like I understand the flow and timing of combos better. I'm hoping this will help when I return to Strive. The one thing I don't like about it is that combos are LONG. I feel like I get hit once and I can't play the game for another 5 minutes. As someone who struggles with combos and prefers the other aspectsof fighting games, it feels really rough. I feel like I do no damage unless I do a big combo. My favorite character sofar is Crusader. It's very clear visually what all his moves do and I find them very intuitive. I also don't know this for sure, but it feels like I can mix and match moves in a combo more easily with him. I like grappler too, but zoners feel so strong that I don't feel like putting in all the effort of playing around them.
I get where your coming from, but to say that "you dont feel like putting in all the effort" shows that you just dont want to put in the work whereas someone else does. Think about it. Its inevitable. How in the world do I expect to win matches if I dont "feel like" putting in effort while the other person actually wants to put in effort and get better? You will lose. In this world, we cant expect others to play how we want them to play, nor can we expect competition to be nice to us. It's a fighting game.
@@danielsmithiv1279 Also, I said I "don't feel like" playing around zoners. Spamming projectiles from the corner isn't "working harder". Zoning is cringe.
@@Phadex7 I have played a grappler in other games, but in DNF Duel where the movement is slow, ever character is basically a mid range zoner and there are so many full screen moves, I'd rather dedicate my effort to a character that's less frustrating to play. The fact is, if you don't find the gameplay fun, you're not going to want to put in the effort in the first place. Passion is the animus for effort. And there are other characters I have far more fun playing.
The reason I've put 47 hours into this game in the first week (what I wanted to do with strive but couldn't) was how great the ranked system, tutorial, and training modes are. I really understood the game after the tutorial and the ranked system keeps me coming back with how fast you get matched. It's such a breath of fresh air from titles like tekken 7 and strive
My only gripe in the game is the movement. The initial slowness of the run feels awful and makes it so hard to navigate zoners. I don't mind the ridiculous normals and specials, but at least give me the tools to engaging with it more fun and rewarding.
exactly they need to fix that asap and also chip damage is insane with zoning sure you can role but u need a bit better role to get past for example rangers crazy lockdown shots time will tell if the devs listen to the fans they have a gem on there hands dont mess it up
Yea dashing especially should be way faster than this. Dash/lunge attacks are greatly faster to quickly get close to the opponent than to dash and lead to a combo. Very annoying.
If you wanna go fast, pick Striker, Kunoichi, Dragon Knight or Swift Master. You shouldn't be allowed to go very fast if your normals reach half the screen or even full screen. That would just make everything fundamentally unreactable.
I’m with you. So many of these new games come out and they cater almost exclusively to this online crowd, which is fine, but online didn’t used to exist and a lot of us who came up in that time were left in the dust because not all of us care about online at all. Some of us just want that core experience back, in new games.
As a person who is relatively new to fighting games I can say that this game is really fun. After labbing a few combos in the tutorial I was able to find some great ranked online matches including a match with the dood himself. After watching this channel for almost twelve years I’m glad that my match was displayed in this video (Red Striker). Gg’s Max, and if any bodies planning on buying I’d highly recommend it😁.
im surprised how much i like it because i got bored quick with granblue and strive i like the gunner and striker characters its a fun game though i wish there was more characters
Short answer: Yes. Looks great, hella fun, easy for anyone to pick up (even fighting game noobs), surprisingly high skill ceiling, great netcode. I'm gonna log a lot of hours in this game.
the skill ceiling is so much higher than it looks initially even with the easy mode versions of motion inputs and stuff, its fun. good ass game, i'm glad i gave it a chance. absolutely despised it trying out beta 1 without any sort of tutorial or training mode. i wasn't even planning on buying it.
I loved DBFZ even though im not the biggest fan of 3v3 games, DNF feels to me like a 1v1 FighterZ and i LOVE IT, yeah mobility could be better but it hits for me on a note where Strive did not.
5:34 I 100% agree with Max here because there have been games in the past that have tried to chase e-sports as it's primary goal, and have failed miserably because of it. A community builds around a game because the game is fun for one reason or another. Games will naturally fall into e-sports and tournaments if people enjoy the game enough. Just look at Smash Bros.
I think Max doesn't get the point of when someone asks a question like that. When someone asks if the game is going to last; they're not asking about e-sports or prize pools. They're asking if the game is a flavor of the month where a large majority of the playerbase will drop off after a few days to a few weeks. People aren't trying to spend 50 bucks on a game where a large portion of the people saying that it's fun aren't be playing it 2-3 weeks from now...
People talk so little about local multi-player that I had a hard time finding if this game would have it... I mean, I can't be the only person in the world who still have friends who comes to their house to have a fun time playing right?
Honestly man I think local play is actually getting more and more rare as time goes on. Like for me personally me and all my friends are gamers have been all our lives but we like never get together to play games anymore because life just gets in the way. Idk how old you or if you’re still in school and still have quite a bit of free time but me and all the people I know who play fighting games don’t have much so if anything we might play online together like once a week if that
Definitely not, I'm part of that crowd too; fighting games, my friends and all the reactions you get from matches are my holy trinity. Since big locals or local tournaments are not a thing here, we also went and started a weekly "fighting game fans in my city gather to youth center to play matches once a week"-thing
Never in the history of fighting games has anything launched without local multiplayer, that's why nobody talks about it. It's like asking if the game has sound. The news story would be that it doesn't.
They patched the PS5 version of KoF. Now it has the same input lag as the PS4 Pro version. Feels great and hopefully DNF and Strive get the same treatment soon.
7:21 as a Chilean, I can confirm. Dude, even KOF XV was cheaper than this game at launch (THE DELUXE EDITION RN IS CHEAPER EVEN WITHOUT DISCOUNTS THAN THIS GAME ON STEAM, LMAO)
When people ask if it might last, they are referring to - Am I going to get matches my level down the line without resorting to discord?- which is hard to know, but a fair concern. I think a very small % care about pot price, otherwise they would not be playing a fighting game at all; I guess that the price money topic would show up when you are surrounded by top players, but down on earth we just wanna play. It does feel like Granblue v2, this time with rollback; I hope this succeeds where GBVS failed, mostly due a pandemic and bad netcode. Fun game overall.
5:10 my god thanks for being that guy I got very tired of seeing people try to make their “profound and moving and I’m important” statements That shit got annoying fast
All multi-platform fighting, sports, shooter or any other competitive game should always have cross-play. The player base is what keeps these games alive. Why hinder that?
I absolutely agree. This should be the default in this day and age. Especially in fighting games which is a niche genre. The player base is already relatively small compared to something like mobas or fps, and they (the console makers, not the game devs) divide it even further across the platforms by not allowing cross play. Especially Sony has been a pain in the a** the last few years when it came to cross play.
I been seeing more people wanting to see crossplay in more fighting games. I always get excited when I find someone irl that have interest in fighting games, only to find out we're on different platforms. Let's hope things changes in future 🙏
Was on the fence with this game cause of the lobby stuff which made me think it would be only online but glad they changed to a more single player style game. Definitely will try it
I got it on ps5 without a second thought after playing the beta. I haven’t noticed input delay but that could be down to the tv. It plays great to me and i actually like it quite a bit more than strive at this point lol.
Never have fallen for a fighting game as much as I have with DNF Duel. Since Xrd, I have looked for a game that gave me that same feeling. Strive turned me off from GG, SFV wasn't that interesting till later and wasn't my kinda game. KoF XV was the only game worth playing but yet again wasn't my kinda game. DNF Duel really saved this genre for me. My favorite new fighting game even with being on Playstation which I am staying on console, the Crusader Infinite and other issues. So much enjoyment, so much freedom. This game is truly one of a kind
exactly zoning is rough so far with the insane chip damage and i think roles should honestly go a little farther and forward dash should be a tiny bit faster but i super love the game
I'm the biggest MH fan I know and I still keep coming back to play DNF, it's just that fun. I keep wanting to play Sunbreak but finding myself back practising Ranger corner tech, or jumping online. Couldn't recommend more, easily my favourite fighter that's been released recently.
In terms of people wondering about the game lasting; there's probably a few reasons people ask this but in my region, I can tell you our player pools are going to be way smaller. So I think it's a valid question for those of us living outside the US/EU that don't want to wait ages for low latency games, at least outside of the first few months of the game releasing.
5:46 @Maximilian Dood Depends on where you live. I stopped so many fighting games because they didn't have good-enough online and I didn't have a local scene to play them.
Game is super fun. Been having a blast playing Inquisitor, Hitman and Ghostblade, and I really want to try Vanguard and Troubleshooter as well. I'd say it's definately worth it.
Personally it’s a 9/10 for me it’s a fighting game and it’s excellent as one I can care less about single player modes about story for that I play rpgs
What you said about special moves is abso-fucking-lutely my favourite part about the game! It has insanely flashy bullshit that each character does, and that's what draws me to characters.
I think when people ask “will this game last” or “is this game going to stick” it’s from a time perspective, I agree with your comment saying “if you love a game we will find an audience to play with”, but I think the main reason many of us ask is because many of us don’t have the luxury to wake up and play a game all day and make videos, many of us work a 9-5 job and have other obligations after so we just want to find a game where we can hop online and still have challenges but also not wast our little time we may have left in a day.
The MP refund system is similar to the actual system in DFO. Manual inputs reduced the MP cost and Cooldown of skill so them implementing a system that rewards you for manual inputs is very nice My only hope is for all the classes to be added eventually but if not at least Vagabond
I am loving this game! Character designs are among the best in fighting games and there is so much underlying depth in this game. I just want 3 things: Dash macro (GGS spoiled us) Crossplay Additional mixups (high/low, strike/throw)
I agree with the mixups, if you can't left/right shmix then every character ought to have a universal grounded overhead option. Another thing this game severely needs is some kind of burst mechanic. When you've got strikers and swiftmasters and kunoichi's landing these 30+ hit combos off of a single hit confirm, it just feels real bad when you have to basically just sit there and not get to play the game for 10 seconds...
@@TurntReynolds Everyone has one if you use conversion. It stops you mid air and gets you right back on ground on top of slowing your opponent. Jump > conversion > high or low.
As a fellow Vanguard enthusiast, what do you do against crouching guard? Do we have an overhead that I just haven't found or do I just gotta wait until they decide they are done?
This game dont have regional price in latam this game cost 80 dollars (10.000ars) , this game comes out 1-4 of the average Argentine salary, it would be good if you have a voice, that you help raise awareness among developers to implement regional prices, this game comes out 7 times what guilty gear strive costs in Argentina
As someone who's lived through the release of the original Playstation and the absolute drought of fighting games on PC, it makes me really happy to hear that the PC has become the best platform for fighting games right now. And DNF seems really awesome. It's currently sitting at the top of my wishlist.
I love the classic approach - have the whole roster, super polished, and one unlockable boss character at launch, no DLC and a regular price. Add rollback on top for the multiplayer to be future proof. So the rest is now just polishing more and balancing, and maybe if the game does well another character and/or stage. I think this is the right approach especially with license fighting games, where any continuous addition to it would come with a whole bunch of licencing fees anyway.
Play Enchantress for like, 30 minutes, you'll run back to Crusader and Hitman first thing in the morning lmao. Something needs to be done for Risk v Reward on some folks.
They really alienated half of their audience with Regional pricing fuck up, same case for KOF 15. It's hard to justify buying when it costs 1/4th of your month salary. Even if someone bit the bullet and get the base game, DLC are also at full price which adds up to a lot over time/seasons.
i never jived with strive that game is all about rushdown rushdown and more rushdown maybe some people like it but not alot of people like just playing a game where your penalized for negative bonuses for backdashing alot just stupid design
I think one thing I would like to see in DNF Duel is a 3v3 team mode, sort of like the PVP from DFO. That and a tournament mode would probably be neat.
I am currently in bronze, and it doesn't seem like I will get out any time soon. But I also don't really care that much because the way the game is built means that even at a low level things still look cool as fuck.
This is the way I want all fighting games to be. Not trying to be live services(SFV). Just standard, old fashioned fighters with good offline and online play options.
Dosen't Survival Mode have a mechanic where you can buy powerups to help between rounds? I remember seeing a snippit of gameplay of that. And if that's the case, then that makes Survival mode WAY more interesting!
DNF is more beginner friendly than Strive since it doesn't force you to learn motion inputs to use special moves. It also has better and faster matchmaking.
My personal opinion owning literally every fighting game, Strive is my go to, prefer it over xrd, especially if you are a more casual player. DNF is good, if you're new to fighting games, you're gonna get smoked in all of them for a long while. I'd say just pirate both games, play them and buy the one that feels good to play, try out combos for all the chars. Online is great for both games.
Answer from PC version: Jfc they messed up the port. I'm used to some troubleshooting but goddamn, it was a mess just to get to online and every 2nd thread in steam boards is people having crash issues or being unable to rematch.
Enjoying the game quite a lot so far. I hope they address some of the weird input stuff tho.. Dashing/Running after normals and specials feels.. I dunno, weird? Its clunky and significantly harder than it should be. I find myself missing the run often. Im nothing special but my execution is traditionally pretty solid in the various games I play. It almost feels like the timing isnt consistent. Anyway, very much recommend the game. I hope they address the movement and the input stuff, but its still huge fun. I agree with Max, its a solid 8/10. I think it could see a 9/10 with some time and adjustments.
So when it comes to games fun is a huge factor for me if it ain’t fun then no point in spending money on it. Thankfully this game is FUN. AF !!! It has some of the best characters I’ve seen in a fighting game not just from an Aesthetic and design standpoint but from gameplay as well. Every character is strong! And fun to play there’s someone for everyone. very cool stylish characters with meaty and long combos for each one. The online is damn near perfect super quick to find matches no lag smooth as butter. This is a must buy at 50$ the fun factor alone is worth it
Lasting for me is not about prize pot but finding casual matches. I usually play a lot the first weeks after work. When I want to pickup the game 2 months later I want to quickly find Silver ranked matches rather than wait 5 minutes to find a player and only end up playing the die hards that still play daily on high rank.
Biggest complaint about the matchmaking system, if you have it set to notify you about a match instead of auto accept, there is NO SOUND. If you look away for a little while or alt tab for any reason it is VERY easy to miss multiple queues. Not a big deal but it's the most annoying thing I've encountered.
I'll wait and see if max is still playing this in a month. Especially on console. Last couple fighting games I got cuz of Max recommendations like GGS and KOF 15 are dead on console and I feel like I wasted my money.
I feel like that’s a bad way to judge whether or not the player base is there. Max jumps around to different games. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s not a good indicator. KOF was hard to find matches on PC too. And GGS? Dead on console? I highly doubt that. Maybe ranked in certain areas, because of floor system. If you’re saying there’s 0 people in the park I don’t believe you. AND it’s getting cross play.
@@seanslayer2647 it's not "already discounted" that's a stupid mindset, the game's initial price is simply 50. Game looks fun and all but i simply don't really care to pay that much considering it's content, there are other fighting games i can play meanwhile.
Don’t know if this applies to a lot of players but I’ve been having this bug on the pc version that makes the rematch option not show up so you have to stare at the winner screen for 25 seconds till the game finally moves on and restarts matchmaking. It’s really annoying I hope they fix this.
Yeah my friend was having that bug too. No rematch along with the delay of it made it seem like more waiting between matches than actually playing them. Definitely needs a fix.
Not all games have made Maximillian clap at his opponent, that Crusader from the last "online matches" of DNF was something else to watch Adding it to the wish list rn
I'm liking DNF Duel, but I disagree with brushing off the 'is this game going to last' thing. That's a huge part of games for a lot of players, and it's a struggle for a lot of fighting games. Most players are somewhere in the middle between 'super dedicated' vs 'just a casual' and want to play these games semi-competitively by casually grinding ranked mode, so it's a 10x better experience when queues are fast and there's healthy player populations at every ranked level. Being someone in that group myself, a lot of fighting games feel unplayable after a few months when the only ones left are the hardcore fans. In a game with a big population like street fighter though, you can still have fun winning games in ranked mode regardless of your dedication level. In that setting you can be competitive even if you're just playing an hour a week. In a niche game that's pretty much impossible
He's saying that online matches are really fast to find, and I agree in terms of ranked mode, but does that mean I'm the only one having a stupidly hard time just trying to join the lobbies? Feels just like it did in the betas, it attempts to join for like 45 seconds and tells you it couldn't connect.
Maybe it's a region or a network problem? Idk how the game match makes exactly but generally it they try to pair client with the closest server possible and sometimes that specific server is not working properly.
Click faster. The lobby probably filled up. That happened to me a few times, but it’s usually when I’m taking my time trying to see which lobby to join.
I DO think this game seems to hit a sweet spot with the Soul Calibur-level audience between it's depth of play and simplicity of controls. The price point is the sticky thing, and it's not even because the game isn't unworthy, it's just because the economy got hard.
Still debating getting the game. I’m not a fighting game person at all. Tried DBZF and enjoyed it but fell off very early. I just know it takes a lot of dedication to play fighting games. But I’m really liking the characters and the fights makes my heart jump.
I wish the training mode had like a computer action option like after u hit the bots guard or the character they'll do the set action when possible like fighterz
I would definitely get it because it looks so damn good and the characters with their stylish moves and techniques sold me good on this game, sure its accessible because of the control inputs to pull off moves, but it has technicality and hidden depth inside. However i'll wait for a sale until maybe after season 1 dlc is complete. If you're a fighting game purist, go ahead and go for it, you won't be sorry.
While I'm still yet to buy DNF, I will say the betas were fun as heck on their own. So with the addition of everything they've added & improved on for the official release, I'd say the game seems very well worth it!

@Farz Wolf ❤️
@@Joshwiththehoodie He could also play DNF just for the Arcade. Alot of people still do that.
@@A1phaz0ne Yeah, forgot immediately in the video the casual stuff has it, but for the "just gimmie a match" players they don't have to deal with it, thank god.
o and lets not forget gbv was a mash fest with stupid players that got rewarded for broken stuff i dropped it after less then a week
Yeah… this game destroys granblue 🤣
It also had Goku modded into it day one so the game’s pretty much perfect
@@danielsmithiv1279 Counter point: You're a fucking nerd and neutral is fun actually.
@@danielsmithiv1279 Also, I said I "don't feel like" playing around zoners. Spamming projectiles from the corner isn't "working harder".
Zoning is cringe.
@@johnhurley8918 Zoning is indeed cringe, but you reinforced his statement on effort.
It's such a breath of fresh air from titles like tekken 7 and strive
the training mode has its flaws.. you cant even choose what side you reset too lol. but everything else for sure is great
My only gripe in the game is the movement. The initial slowness of the run feels awful and makes it so hard to navigate zoners. I don't mind the ridiculous normals and specials, but at least give me the tools to engaging with it more fun and rewarding.
exactly they need to fix that asap and also chip damage is insane with zoning sure you can role but u need a bit better role to get past for example rangers crazy lockdown shots time will tell if the devs listen to the fans they have a gem on there hands dont mess it up
Game feel is 🤮
Feels a lot better to me on pc. Hopefully the ps version has the input delay fixed soon
This is the first fighting game I've actually enjoyed in some time, as a classic fighting game player.
Same here ! Refreshing !
I’m with you. So many of these new games come out and they cater almost exclusively to this online crowd, which is fine, but online didn’t used to exist and a lot of us who came up in that time were left in the dust because not all of us care about online at all. Some of us just want that core experience back, in new games.
Every character in this game is just fun to play. I'm loving the game and it's so hard to pick a character
I still need some practice, but man this game is fun af. Definitely worth it

SFV being the perfect example
@@theogravity866 exactly
I think Max doesn't get the point of when someone asks a question like that. When someone asks if the game is going to last; they're not asking about e-sports or prize pools. They're asking if the game is a flavor of the month where a large majority of the playerbase will drop off after a few days to a few weeks. People aren't trying to spend 50 bucks on a game where a large portion of the people saying that it's fun aren't be playing it 2-3 weeks from now...
@@kiefergray6189 yep, dnf duel def feels like a flavor of the month game, but I do hope the game does well
People talk so little about local multi-player that I had a hard time finding if this game would have it... I mean, I can't be the only person in the world who still have friends who comes to their house to have a fun time playing right?
Theres a big thing called local tournaments
@@owenjurk3 I still like to play with my friends eating pizza and talking shit.
Esta cara la wea wn
Carisimo, y encima que somos pocos jugando a estos juegos con ese precio debe estar bastante muerto el online y te da menos ganas de conprarlo

All multi-platform fighting, sports, shooter or any other competitive game should always have cross-play. The player base is what keeps these games alive. Why hinder that?
Companies don't like to mingle too much depending on stuff.
I think Sony has/had a policy of forcing companies to pay them if x% of the cross-play playerbase isn't on PS.
I been seeing more people wanting to see crossplay in more fighting games. I always get excited when I find someone irl that have interest in fighting games, only to find out we're on different platforms. Let's hope things changes in future 🙏
It looks really fun, so I think I might get it
dude its super fun and the netcode is amazing zoning is a bit strong now but with the roomered patches that will easly be toned down
Was on the fence with this game cause of the lobby stuff which made me think it would be only online but glad they changed to a more single player style game. Definitely will try it
I got it on ps5 without a second thought after playing the beta. I haven’t noticed input delay but that could be down to the tv. It plays great to me and i actually like it quite a bit more than strive at this point lol.
Taking quality character-design into account, IMO this is the arguably the best looking fighting game out there.
Yes Kunoichi best looking 😭
Never have fallen for a fighting game as much as I have with DNF Duel. Since Xrd, I have looked for a game that gave me that same feeling. Strive turned me off from GG, SFV wasn't that interesting till later and wasn't my kinda game. KoF XV was the only game worth playing but yet again wasn't my kinda game.
DNF Duel really saved this genre for me. My favorite new fighting game even with being on Playstation which I am staying on console, the Crusader Infinite and other issues. So much enjoyment, so much freedom. This game is truly one of a kind
I'm having a ton of fun with the game, once you past the first week bs (like in every other fg) matches feels very intense and i'm loving it
exactly zoning is rough so far with the insane chip damage and i think roles should honestly go a little farther and forward dash should be a tiny bit faster but i super love the game

The netcode is amazing i played People from Japan and the us with no lag at all from the eu

How's that a luxury it's literally his job lol
@@callofmetals24 yah it’s “His” job, not 99% of other peoples job, so many of us can’t afford to sacrifice our time on something we might not enjoy.
And the survival mode is more in-depth that your typical survival mode. You can actually power up your character as you go. And I love that.
The MP refund system is similar to the actual system in DFO. Manual inputs reduced the MP cost and Cooldown of skill so them implementing a system that rewards you for manual inputs is very nice
My only hope is for all the classes to be added eventually but if not at least Vagabond
Vaga would be interesting, having the different weapon afterimages to swap between be a thing could be kinda neat
Max is the best at fighting game reviews fr
Kinda wished Max checked out Survival mode a bit, as that has some more RPG aspects.
I am loving this game! Character designs are among the best in fighting games and there is so much underlying depth in this game.
I just want 3 things:
Dash macro (GGS spoiled us)
Crossplay
Additional mixups (high/low, strike/throw)
I agree with the mixups, if you can't left/right shmix then every character ought to have a universal grounded overhead option.
Another thing this game severely needs is some kind of burst mechanic. When you've got strikers and swiftmasters and kunoichi's landing these 30+ hit combos off of a single hit confirm, it just feels real bad when you have to basically just sit there and not get to play the game for 10 seconds...

I'm new to fighting games and I just can't decide which game I should pick up, really leaning towards picking up either Guilty Gear Strive or DNF Duel
Dnf is better for you
DNF is more beginner friendly than Strive since it doesn't force you to learn motion inputs to use special moves. It also has better and faster matchmaking.
Preciate the advice guys!
There's 3 ways to get mp?
My personal opinion owning literally every fighting game, Strive is my go to, prefer it over xrd, especially if you are a more casual player. DNF is good, if you're new to fighting games, you're gonna get smoked in all of them for a long while. I'd say just pirate both games, play them and buy the one that feels good to play, try out combos for all the chars. Online is great for both games.
Answer from PC version: Jfc they messed up the port. I'm used to some troubleshooting but goddamn, it was a mess just to get to online and every 2nd thread in steam boards is people having crash issues or being unable to rematch.
They will be patching it they said
@@schemar17 Hope so.
I finally picked up strive on the steam discount so I'll be diving into that
I appreciate that they changed matchmaking to a more traditional one. Finally got through Arcsys though skull
If you do these videos in the future please be sure to mention if Arcade Mode actually has endings for the characters or not.
Just got into silver 1 today and man even though I get my ass beat I still have tons of fun I’m looking forward to getting better
And fun to play there’s someone for everyone. very cool stylish characters with meaty and long combos
for each one.
I would love to play this, but the price here in BR is ridiculous, it's acctually more expensive than triple A titles
Buff dash/run speed, buff throw, give us sexy outfits for every single character (especially crusader and launcher owo)
Easy 10/10
Honestly it would make sense for PC to be the hub of this game since there's gonna be a ton of DFO players interested in it.

Not all games have made Maximillian clap at his opponent, that Crusader from the last "online matches" of DNF was something else to watch
Adding it to the wish list rn

The review I have been waiting for!! Thanks Max!
It's a fun game, easy to pick up and play but it has depth as well. I'd give it a 7.5 or an 8 for sure.
While I'm still yet to buy DNF, I will say the betas were fun as heck on their own. So with the addition of everything they've added & improved on for the official release, I'd say the game seems very well worth it!

@@CreamChizu yeah was in the same boat was on the fence then I started watching videos of the game and had to check it out reminded me of guilt gear
Ended up just doing a trade in I only payed 18 $ for dnf definitely worth it!!
God dammit max been waiting on your review for this game, now i can go buy it. thank you.
I hope the next shonen jump versus game is like DNF Duel
Hmmm, this game seems fun so I'll try it out. Last fighting game I even tried to seriously play was injustice, so I do wanna get invested in one
Great review by Max! Super fun as it is, still needs some work.
They will probably patch infinites quick.
Personally, I want Burst and EX Dash with less recovery.
After that, just put more characters in. I can have fun with anyone on this roster and I hope this game has super long tail.
