Story content is very fun from base to LoS. I was a story player for a long period of time and drifted into HM raids/nim hopefully soon. Most of 7.0's big flaws were fixed in 7.1. Great community and there are very helpful guilds that have people willing to lfg and teach mechs/classes for endgame.

I love this game! One of the best stories! And a Star Wars Legends game still going I believe! As MMO I haven't really interacted that guilds and the ones I am part of are for playing how you want I am in love with the story single player though you can get friends or guild mates to help! Great game! I suggest it!
14:45 There is a common saying where I am from roughly saying "Better to have a bad eye, than a bad reputation". Basically, no matter how many years pass the game will always have this bad rep around it due to the faults of it's release (first impressions and all that) and it is a reputation that is really hard to change. As I was writing this I looked up for similar quotes in English so here it is: _Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold._ - Proverbs 22:1
For those that don´t know the game, it has a amazing story, characters are highly customized, you play your own story with your own character, the npcs are very well made too, and all the companions you recruit have their own story too and are very interesting. The Game is generous with F2P players, you get all the basic story and many features, if you are willing to buy anything, even once, you became a preferred player, getting most of things from the game. The downside is that the game has been going downhill in the last years: the expansions are not as great as they used to be, more features require you to be a sub to have access to, and so on. I recommend anyone that likes RPG to give a try on this game, they simple don´t make games of this quality anymore these days, specially things involving Star Wars, so enjoy while you can.
@@Raviis - lack of content - too easy, no grind whatsoever - events suck and aren’t unique whatsoever - little incentive for social interaction between players
I’ve been coming back to this game on and off since it first began. I just consider it an RPG that I wanna replay from time to time. This game has never tried to be more than what it is and that’s just an rpg with online elements. I think it nails that perfectly. My only major complaint is the insane inflation. Buying cool items and armor can cost a pretty penny sometimes unless your playing the CM. I doubt this will ever be resolved but there are plenty of non CM gear that’s good looking too
If they added a grey jedi and light sith type of class that’ll be cool like yeah they’re forbidden but that’s what’s gonna make the storyline more interesting and fun 😅
As someone who Just joined 2 months ago my biggest tip is keybind your ability and give yhe game a decent shake even if you Hate the combat I put 90hours into the class story and free dlc before I subbed and another 60 hours in all for the price of 15$ it's truly well worth it for a solo player
i have been playing since november 4th 2012 and i have every class except for bounty hunter and smuggler done so to the new people if your a big star wars fan like me then swtor is a great game to try
Because of this video I just want to say, yes it’s worth coming back too, every Star Wars fans should love and experience how the game was back then, I mean I started a few months ago because when I was 14 years old I got the game in disk form. But then I got my alien ware pc and now I almost play or stream the game on twitch. There’s adding new things and still keep the old things there for people to love about it. So to answer your question, YES…it’s worth coming back too in 2022
As many have said, the best thing about the game are the original arcs, with a unique story for each class. It's worth playing and replaying. The problem is that since the first expansion, the MMO model has changed. It became a storyteller, with ambiguous reviews and short chapters, and some group content, which characterizes it more as an online RPG focused on PvE. Nobody needs a guild. Not even knowing what happens in the game, on the planets, nothing makes you integrate into a community.
Yes I haven't played in a month because I'm taking a break but if you're new looking for a good mom try this out it's good for solo play has story's for each class and also fun to play with friends
I can answer that I came back after years recently tried it And And subscribe right after I tried it checked my legacy when I played first I did every thing multiple toons all sides and flashpoints pvp all it is worth it hi swtorista
In my opinion, the game is one of the best states its been in a while. Its been a lot of fun. Me and my friends started our own guild and have been leveling it up. We all enjoy the new content :D
My Guild World First 16 man Soa. We were able to pull in 3 level 50s from outside the guild on Launch week and they downed 8 man Soa on launch week of the game. And then we did 16 man Soa the next week, downed him and then we downed the Rancor boss. Which was the only boss available for the 2nd Operation at the time.
You will be disappointed. It was great under 6.0. Now it's shit under 7.0. Trying to regain the glory of 1.0 but making it more grindy, more elitist than ever and pissing off casual players left and right.
Been playing 2 months now while taking a break from FF14 - would recommend for sure. It's a fun game with good story. Considering it has a subscription system it does lack polish here and there, esp. compared to FFXIV so manage your expectations. The small playerbase also means that the endgame community is pretty small. So don't go in expecting the same level of in-depth game information and guides as something like WOW or FFXIV. There is one parser and it's..... I mean it exists. It does its job and it has a bunch of options but it really isn't user friendly at all. The SWTOR equivalent of wowlogs or fflogs.... also exists. But you don't need any add-ons. In-game customization is very nice. Dot timer tracking is a pain though. Watch the Josh Strife Hayes review in addition to this video. But that said, so long as you keep that in mind - it's a really fun game and I love the stories. The Imperial Agent story specifically is very worth playing if you ever enjoyed a spy book or movie or tv show and the Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Knight, Bounty Hunter & Smuggler stories are great too. The trooper storyline is decent. Also most of the voice acting is really good. Each cutscene is voiced. Don't go in expecting Wrath of the Lich King or Shadowbringers/ Endwalker when it comes to story quality. But it's a solid game with some flaws. The company running it needs to get off its ass and invest in this game cuz they have a solid product that just needs some love given to it. The content creators on YT are the people keeping the game alive I swear. Swtorista's website is fucking amazing for real. Oh and if it wasn't obvious it's better than all of the Star Wars sequels, the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
I have a hard time coming back to this game. Love it, but each time I return it feels... emptier. Everyone I knew who played is long gone these days. Just spent time on empire fleet in the Star Forge server and it was like a graveyard. Finally managed to get a couple of folks to talk.
I love this game but when doing stories with friends, (which I rarely do now because of this bug) I've noticed an issue and it is very immersion breaking. In cutscenes with friends, most of the time I see my friend in the cutscene. Glitching into my character or in front of my character etc. (The main story cutscenes, so now I just stream for my friend to watch) There is also another issue I've noticed... seeing players randomly in cutscenes with side stories/missions, and the only way to fix that is to esc and do it over. I wish these were fixed, we didn't use to have this problem before but I don't remember how long ago that was. Don't get me wrong though, I still like this game but it makes me want to solo completely because of these bugs.
@@Swtorista I thought it was funny for awhile too but not as much anymore. When my friend was joining my main agent story on my ship, I used the holonet and she was jumping back and forth over the thing. I saw her doing that and it made me laugh seeing her also dance (no bones dance) on the holonet in front of watcher 2.
If youre a fan of star wars and hate the new disney trilogy then yes I would recommend the game just for the storyline, I love reading the old republic stuff.
Hell yeah it's still worth playing despite the "behind the scenes" problems caused by EA, in fact the only bad thing I have to say about SWTOR is the fact that I want more Flashpoint missions having a Story Mode.
I've been playing many MMO's and SWTOR reminds me of a few of them bundled together... the only thing I don't like is how this game treats their F2P players as "Demo Players", since most MMO's nowadays don't offer anything beyond a F2P option (and with less restrictions) as subs are a thing of the past. I only know 3 MMO games that still do the sub thing, SWTOR is one of those... F2P players should have the full game (as is standard in 99% of MMO's), but maybe put a few typical restrictions (like an acct-wide bank, etc. that require real world payment). the way SWTOR puts restrictions on F2P players is a bit rediculous (main story rewards that can't be unlocked as F2P, really?). Before anyone defends subs saying "you should be grateful to have the main story as F2P", remember... this is the ONLY game that is this restrictive to F2P players. (at least WoW denies access to their game unless you pay the sub, this game should do the same as restrictive as it is) If you actually bothered playing another F2P game, you would see why this is a big deal... Do yourself a favor and DONT make SWTOR the only MMO you have ever played! sub-based games are getting phased out, and losing their player base because subs are a thing of the past. deal with it.
@@AzureRoxe my machine plays it just fine, it's 14 yrs old lol. The point of saying it's accessible to older machines is that not all older machines can run the newer games, it just lets ppl know they can most likely run still SWtOR if they're interested (not everyone can afford new rigs) 🙂
Absolutely. Started playing 2 weeks ago...amazing class storylines and killer dialogues. However, the game is very restrictive if you intend to be a pure f2p. Only subs can equip purple gear and hit lvl cap for e.g. I only wish there wasnt a credit and lvl cap for f2p/preferred players...
16:25 I bought SWTOR on launch but haven't played in years. The reason I looked up videos on it was because of the shows. Kenobi and Mandalorian reminded me of a live action Old Republic and gave me the itch. Calling it the New Republic in the shows made me think of the opposite, thus I'm here while downloading the client. 😉
So cringe the SWTOR creators that won’t admit the game is in the worst state it’s ever been, the BioWare team is bad. They ban/ block people from forums that love and critique the game, and SWTORISTA does the same thing ahha. So bad, enjoy you’re echo chamber.
i started this game few months ago becuse my friend introduced me and i can say its hand down my second (witcher 3 is first hehe) favourite game ever and swtorista you helped me a lot to get around so special thanks from a newbie :P now time to marry lana!
Just started playing a couple months ago and love it! But my jaw dropped when I saw the prices on the GTN, hehe, some items are like 100 million when i have 10 million max after 2 months of playing. So I made other chars to craft, so I dont have grind 100 million credits.
With all it's faults, it's still the best MMO in existance. It's just that MMO that all other players always, always, ALWAYS come back to, no matter how long they are gone. Outside of the core players who never leave, the vast majority of players appear to be "returning players". If you're in Europe or west Asia, you want to be on the Darth Malgus server. Players in the Pacific sadly have to deal with immense lag, though there are many of them. For those in the Americas, here are your two choices. If you're into roleplaying or into solo playing you want to be on the Starforge server. It has the bigger starter community. And biggest role playing community. If youre into pro gaming, end game content and playing MMOs in the long run, then you most definately want to be on the Satele Shan server. The Satele Shan server has the better quality players and the biggest end game community in the game with the most helpful players. And jump around guilds until you find the right one for you. It's an MMO, you want to be in a Guild. Find one that uses Guilded over Discord, as those are the ones always trying to be cutting edge wanting the best for their Guild members. For example all of the features you pay for Discord Nitro are completely free on Guilded with more features, no pay walls.
Don't forget to mention inflation and the Bioware team's complete ignorance of other game flaws as well. Aside from the storyline, this game could be completely ignored as an MMORPG, given that it only has a facade of RPG elements. It has a good storyline, but the rest is broken beyond recognition. P.S. The in-game currency is absolutely worthless, instead microtransactions are the only way to get cartel market armor sets.
Hey there, I'm brand new and really trying to get into SWTOR, however I'm heavily dyslexic and really struggle to read the endless tutorial pages and can't find a up to date beginners guide anywhere! I see a lot of tips, but I'm talking an entire disection of all the components in the game (eg-how to manage compaions, to what to use credits for, to what do the stats mean on the armour etc.) Is there a standard recommended video or is it possible to request one? I really like the look of the game, but I'll struggle to fully play through if I know I'm missing out on large chunks of the game. Any help would be much appreciated :)
Hello welcome to the game! 1) Don't forget, for any written guides you find, you can have it read out loud to you by your computer. "SpeakIt! is a Google Chrome extension that will read to you any text that you select with your cursor. Simply highlight the text, then click the icon to listen to the content. You can pause the audio any time." chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/speakit/ogcmdndkjibojdigkjpccjiekcdfdhlb?hl=en-US 2) The game is HUGE. It has ten years of content. So a single video covering everything would be probably like 80 hours long even in short form haha. I suggest people go section by section based on what they are interested in. For example I've got a guide just on companions. A guide for what to use credits on I don't think I've seen one even existing because it's such an open-ended question! Stats are also really complicated and really only relevant at level 80. Example here is a really indepth guide vulkk.com/2022/09/14/which-mods-to-buy-from-hyde-and-zeek-in-swtor/

@@ReveredDead so do you have a source that she is being paid by Bioware? I mean Maybe they do and if so I Will of course accept your opinion. Being paid to not be critical is disgusting, but is that really the case here?

Ive been away for 6 months no, and these youtube recommendations and reddit posts that keep showing have got me to return to this job of a game :P
7:31 The heroic on Black Hole for Imperials needs to be tuned yet. Way harder now than it was before level sync
Yes! even just for running the main story on each class, amazing experience.
I love this game! One of the best stories! And a Star Wars Legends game still going I believe! As MMO I haven't really interacted that guilds and the ones I am part of are for playing how you want I am in love with the story single player though you can get friends or guild mates to help! Great game! I suggest it!
DK general chat is always fun
Glad I gave this game a try. Frickin love the Knights of the Fallen Empire arc (currently doing Knights of the Eternal Throne arc).
14:45
There is a common saying where I am from roughly saying "Better to have a bad eye, than a bad reputation". Basically, no matter how many years pass the game will always have this bad rep around it due to the faults of it's release (first impressions and all that) and it is a reputation that is really hard to change.
As I was writing this I looked up for similar quotes in English so here it is:
_Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold._
- Proverbs 22:1
Yep! That reputation really stuck!
I recommend anyone that likes RPG to give a try on this game, they simple don´t make games of this quality anymore these days, specially things involving Star Wars, so enjoy while you can.
one of best games i ever played and im not even fan of MMORGPS
The answer is YES! At least to experience the story. Great job!
Thanks!
Started playing last month, and its the most fun I've ve had in a while. I almost have 100 hours and already put some money into this game.
last time i played in idk probably 2017 or 2016,i downloaded it back 2 days ago started new account and have been quite enjoy it so far.
I am a new player and I really appreciate it.
I finally managed tp get my hands on a pc after all these years missing swtor. Now i play it everyday
I wish they made it easier to get into operations.
Nice job Swtorista!
I just finished watching Mandalorian, the timing is perfect!
it’s better going into this game looking for a good, immersive Star Wars RPG experience, but don’t go in expecting a good MMO.
What makes it a bad MMO?
@@Raviis
- lack of content
- too easy, no grind whatsoever
- events suck and aren’t unique whatsoever
- little incentive for social interaction between players
@@Stak0 Thank you for the sincere answer. Just curious if I should invest time and money into getting to end game or not :)... might steer clear.
@@Raviis I’d play through the base story as that’s by far the best part. The raids aren’t bad, there just isn’t nearly enough for an MMO.
@@Stak0 Thanks again for the insight :)
Started playing this week. Subscribed, love it.
You're the best! Always appreciate the content
cheers!
600hrs and havent finished all 8 storylines even yet, greatly recommend trying.
even tho i haven't played the game in months i still think it's worth playing. still one of my favorite game to play despite all the issues
As someone who Just joined 2 months ago my biggest tip is keybind your ability and give yhe game a decent shake even if you Hate the combat I put 90hours into the class story and free dlc before I subbed and another 60 hours in all for the price of 15$ it's truly well worth it for a solo player
good tip, keybinds!
i have been playing since november 4th 2012 and i have every class except for bounty hunter and smuggler done so to the new people if your a big star wars fan like me then swtor is a great game to try
I came back just this year, and I’m lovin it!
welcome back!
Yes I haven't played in a month because I'm taking a break but if you're new looking for a good mom try this out it's good for solo play has story's for each class and also fun to play with friends
Wow, I remember the last video like this. Time flies.
All you had to say was - You play a wizard with a laser sword, flying around with a jetpack - and I was hooked.
I usually make them once a year, this one came later due to the delay of the expansion :)
Ah, yes. My favorite Star Wars character is Dr Strange 13:24
I can answer that I came back after years recently tried it And And subscribe right after I tried it checked my legacy when I played first I did every thing multiple toons all sides and flashpoints pvp all it is worth it hi swtorista
hi!
Good video. I just returned after 3-4 years. Being me I deleted all lvl 70s and started over ☺️ Great game.
welcome back after the break!
I'm about to give SWTOR another try! Can't wait to see what awaits me!
You will be disappointed. It was great under 6.0. Now it's shit under 7.0. Trying to regain the glory of 1.0 but making it more grindy, more elitist than ever and pissing off casual players left and right.
@@ReveredDead ouch damnit!!
@@ReveredDead as a new player i can confirm this is WRONG
I really like this game! I think it's worth it just for the story, especially the Jedi Knight and the Sith Warrior ones.
Thanks for keep being a believer in this beautiful game.
(The main story cutscenes, so now I just stream for my friend to watch)
There is also another issue I've noticed... seeing players randomly in cutscenes with side stories/missions, and the only way to fix that is to esc and do it over. I wish these were fixed, we didn't use to have this problem before but I don't remember how long ago that was. Don't get me wrong though, I still like this game but it makes me want to solo completely because of these bugs.
Lol!! I have a bunch of clips of me laughing really hard cus random players are dancing in the background of my serious cutscenes
I just started aying KOTOR 2 for the first time and it's already in my top 5 games of all time
It's $0. It's always worth trying.
Is it worth returning to? I've been playing since the game first became F2P in about 2014. it's not worth leaving
(at least WoW denies access to their game unless you pay the sub, this game should do the same as restrictive as it is)
If you actually bothered playing another F2P game, you would see why this is a big deal... Do yourself a favor and DONT make SWTOR the only MMO you have ever played!
sub-based games are getting phased out, and losing their player base because subs are a thing of the past. deal with it.
The force is strong with this one and this is the way
Thanks for this video. Very helpful and quick guide. Now, to convince my friends to play
😈
I think they made endgame gearing needlessly convoluted, it used to be alot easier. It really makes me not want to return
I just started playing recently. I'm enjoying it.
You emphasized the wrong aspect of it having a older engine, because of that it's accessible to older machines 🙂
Just how old is your rig in 2022 that it wouldn't be able to play this game?
@@AzureRoxe my machine plays it just fine, it's 14 yrs old lol. The point of saying it's accessible to older machines is that not all older machines can run the newer games, it just lets ppl know they can most likely run still SWtOR if they're interested (not everyone can afford new rigs) 🙂
Hmmm! Good point! Unfortunately, SWTOR was still never optimized even for older computers back in the day haha!
Absolutely. Started playing 2 weeks ago...amazing class storylines and killer dialogues. However, the game is very restrictive if you intend to be a pure f2p. Only subs can equip purple gear and hit lvl cap for e.g. I only wish there wasnt a credit and lvl cap for f2p/preferred players...
tbh we need to focus on pushing the issues of the game and the devs, so we can have a better mmo like it used to be
In my country I think it's hard to play swtor because of the server and also customer support of swtor can't even fix a simple problem or issue
So bad, enjoy you’re echo chamber.
i started this game few months ago becuse my friend introduced me and i can say its hand down my second (witcher 3 is first hehe) favourite game ever and swtorista you helped me a lot to get around so special thanks from a newbie :P now time to marry lana!
cheers! Mr swtorista LOVES the witcher :D
Just started playing a couple months ago and love it! But my jaw dropped when I saw the prices on the GTN, hehe, some items are like 100 million when i have 10 million max after 2 months of playing. So I made other chars to craft, so I dont have grind 100 million credits.
It is 1000000000% worth trying for new players.
Oh is that time of year to remake another one of this video
Pros: good game
Cons: In game economy.
I know they said that they can't/won't I'm still hoping for a console version.
I haven't watched the video yet. But one thing I know: Yes, it does worth playing.
could ya do a step by step guide on your video recoding software and settings to publishing the video on youtube.
You can pause the audio any time." chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/speakit/ogcmdndkjibojdigkjpccjiekcdfdhlb?hl=en-US
2) The game is HUGE.
The only thing that throws me off every time I get back into SWTOR after taking a massive break is the gear system lol 😂
as a hardcore star wars fan for life, i thought this game was so dang amazing and then i just quit playing at level 30 tank or something. I'm sure it would have been fun to finish the story, like FF XIV ARR, but I just keep going back to my bloodline, which is WoW! AAHHHHH SAVE ME!!!!!
Heck, I'll just download it again and see what happens. Would like to finish the original story to say i beat it :D
Perfect guide too thanks
Iim always installing this game and deinstaling again alot. Its awesome, great, fun and interresting BUT the stiff charakters are very anoyng and i cant interact with anything i cant even sit on chairs.
This game could be so much more!
