My wife and are Entertainer’s in the DFW metro in TX. We’ve been running a Bose L1 with a mixer and laptop with backing tracks for over 10 years. We usually do multiple shows on a daily basis, so we’re setting up and tearing down a lot - usually 30-45+ minutes per show depending on the venue. Many of our entertainer friends are running S1’s. We bought one and returned it - stuck with the L1 - preferred it over the the S1 even with the longer set up times and cords on the floor etc….However, your review on the Eon Compact has reopened the subject of a better and quicker set up. Thanks! 🎹🎤😎
One of the deciding factors for me that you didn't mention is that you can use condenser mics with this speaker. With phantom power that no other battery powered speaker has that I'm aware of, it will power those studio mics directly.
I use a Yamaha mixer with my pair of JBL Eon compact one. I play guitar with backing tracks live. The app is cool but it can cause problems if you have connection problems. Using a mixer gives me easy EQ and volume access. I'm also a big fan of EV's 115P single 15 powered cabinets.
A brilliant insight into this JBL compact EON 🙏🏼💖👍 A question please……Can u do a direct recording of ur performance by plugging into any of the sockets and get a good quality recording for posting on the UA-cam or elsewhere 🙏🏼
Easy quick factory reset feature: push the aux and the phantom power buttons, lights flash, it shuts down, then it is reset. Boom . I have two of them.
Just purchased the speaker and I am not impressed with the loudness. I’ve had it at maximum volume and it is not as loud as I expected. Am I doing anything wrong? Please help. I’ve reset it and downloaded the latest firmware. Thanks.
Follow up video coming to address this. We took a unit back that the customer said the same thing, it was fine. It’s the channel/mixer volumes that you need to tweak - that’s my guess.

The app wouldn't link with my compact. Yes I downloaded JBL pro connect v2. It when I got to the part it said speaker select it just keeps trying to load and wouldn't link. I had to cancel 2 gigs. Not impressed. Time to buy an Everse 8?
@@TheDJsGuru You were not showing the speaker in any shot with you in when demonstrating it outside. Even when you panned around more you stopped short of showing you both? I just wondered if there was reason. Nothing confusing about that. ☺
Great review! I bought JBL EON ONE Compact recently and noticed strange way it deals with stereo. If stereo signal is coming via 1/8" AUX IN then the speaker (as well as PASS THRU or headphone output) plays only Right channel of the input stereo signal. If stereo signal is coming over Bluetooth then the speaker (as well as PASS THRU or headphone output) plays only Left channel of the input stereo signal. Is your speaker working with stereo input signal differently? How come nobody noticed so far that they hear only one channel of stereo music?
@@TheDJsGuru 1). By looking at pinouts of 1/8" TRS cable in general, you would realize that "Tip" is Left, "Ring" is Right, and "Sleeve" is Ground. So, the fact that the speaker takes only Right channel out of stereo input of 1/8" AUX IN means that "physically" the connector is truly TRS and the signal is picked up from "Ring" and "Sleeve" pinouts. I guess it could be logical part of internal mixer in the speaker that has "unusual" design (what a coincidence though! On the mixer Channel 4 it takes L from BT, R from AUX IN, could be lame design as well). Across the industry (even for consumer speakers), it is more meaningful to make Mono out of Stereo by sum up L and R, not just by taking R. 2). As for input via BT, I know that owners of two speakers can use BT BROADCAST section of the app, which allow to configure each speaker for L or R role. This proves that up to certain point the full stereo must be received ok over BT. Overall, I am just asking to confirm with your speaker, if you see the same way of handling stereo signal, to understand if it's only my unit has such issues.
@@zebratheaterottawa680if this is the case you might want to put your player in mono mode. On my phone you can do this in the audio or accessibility settings. It does seem strange that there wouldn't be an option on the JBL app to make it mix the stereo input to mono if you aren't using 2 speakers.

Yes. I run the pass thru using a TRS to XLR cable into a QSC K12 for larger gigs. It sends all channels post EQ. That's why I love it. Compact and perfect for small gigs, then larger gigs it serves as my mixer/monitor.
