Build quality not good? Wonder if the Civic Type R has better build quality. I am wondering if I should get this car in the future or just save up some more and get my dream car, a Lexus LC500.

I just felt Acura did go the cheaper route with production. You need to drive one. Put the windows a quarter way down, and see what you think?
@AutoEnthusedTV lol 😆 Agreed. They spent every dime on the drivetrain. Which is fantastic, but when you're just going to work and someone else has just gotten out of it, it can be a pain.
Lol how does it not have that. Cars are starting to worry me with these missing features and putting features we should have standard, behind a paywall. My 2013 G37 has memory seats.. 2013... I can spec a well equipped M240i at around $57k and it has a full climate control setup for a mostly useless back seat. The back seat area of the ITS looks like a plastic and vinyl covered trash bin. I want to love this car but Acura needs to get off their beancounting binge and refresh their baby STAT.

You're 100% right about that front lip worry. This has been my first enthusiast car and I learned the hard way backing into spots is a lot safer. Also, the wireless car play issue has to do with an incorrect handshake between the phone and car. Only way to reliably fix it is to do a factory reset of the infotainment system and tell your phone to forget your car. You'll need to re-pair everything but it's fixed things for me. Ditto for the memory driver seat. It's still a good car, but it's missing features given its price point.
We don't go to race track with ours especially not a race car. On winding roads around lake superior and other winding roads in northern Ontario Canada it's perfect, even 160km/hr. Or on over 700kms trip to Toronto and back.
@TheKingkingg to each their own. In my experience, they don't hold you in all that well. Don't really feel special either. Just the same seats from the base integra with new fabric.

Since the memory seat cutout is there, can you not order the parts from a Civic touring and somehow wire that up? It sounds easy, wondering if anyone has tried it? 🤔
People hold too much of a high standard for a car based off a Honda civic. It’s a great car but the things you are looking for are probably found on the next sized up vehicle.
Very fair point. The complaints stem from the fact that you start to be mindful of the things you get (and don’t get) once you reach a certain price threshold.

Basically all your cons about this car can align with mine, I also own an integra just a base model but I've modded it out to be comparable to the type S HP wise, and I got to say my biggest gripe is not having front camera, mind you I'm like 5'7 sitting at the max height possible and its still fairly difficult to see whether or not I'm to close to a curb, So to bypass this all together anytime I park I usually do it in reverse since the guidance is visually clear and little effort is required. as for another con, this is very miniscule but for a luxury car I figured automatic folding mirrors would be a feature in this car, considering I've got the A-spec + Technology pack. Wish the HUD was placed a bit higher but that might just be a me issue since I sit at the max height. Also WHY HAVE HEATED BUT NOT VENTILATED SEATS AAAAAAH THIS TICKS ME OFF, IT GETS SO HOT IN THE SUMMERTIME. And last but not least the flush of hatchback, there's a noticeable panel gap between the rear bumper and hatch that it bothers me every time I see it went to the dealership about it and they told me that's just how its designed and theres no way to fix it. Besides that car is a blast fun car to drive torque steer is definitely prevalent at higher speeds, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to manage.
Good question. Based on my daily driving needs, I still gas up about the same amount each week since we are a two car household. I’ve also taken this car on a 300mile drive and I’ve stopped for gas once each way. Once again, basically the same as my other vehicle. So most of my range anxiety was just in theoretical scenarios in my head.
There will be plenty of aftermarket parts for the integra type s soon enough. To include a limited slip dif which should help with your torque steer. That and suspension parts, also make sure your cars in aligment. I know my integra straight from the factory had an alignment issue which got fixed promptly by the dealership. But once more aftermarket parts come out the easier the issue will be to address
You didn't mention anything about tire wear. How are those 30 series tires holding up after 10k miles? How many more miles do you think you'll get out of them? I'm more concerned about understeer as opposed to torque steer. How noticeable is that?
Nice ownership update! Agree for the most part. As a previous FK8 owner and current Integra Type S owner I would add that the rear brake life is terrible. I mostly just daily drive the car no track use and your lucky if you get past 15k miles on the rears with light use. The rears are used when ever you go around a corner by the traction control which causes excessive rear pad wear. Would be nice to be able to easily disable this for normal driving.
Every Integra Type-S post or video has a brigade of 'it should have this or that feature' when the reality is it's a driver's car with a bit of luxury not a luxury car that's capable. The only thing I wish these cars had is the performance gauges in the center screen like FL5s have. Nothing further. At 10k miles in 10 months not having any noticeable rattles either.
I drive an MDX type S and it's very fun and comfortable drive. Only gripe I have is the rattle I get around the shift buttons. Saw one of these type S Integras in cali not to long ago on the freeway and boy it looks much better in person than on paper and screens!
Agreed on 2 things for sure. 1. Driver memory on the seat and 2. Home link button on the rear view mirror would be great additions. No sunroof, never wanted one, glad there is no sunroof. Other than that, I'm very happy with the Type S. Well done, Acura.
Yo! Have one too. You don’t need a button to turn on the camera. Just put it in reverse and the camera will override that initial screen you referenced. Now you know! Even easier than a button!
The gas tank is the biggest annoyance for me as I am struggling to get 200 miles to the tank, but like some others mentioned, the lack of front/surround camera, no memory seating, and no widescreen for infotainment (to take advantage of split screen Android auto) were also bummers.

You didn't mention anything about tire wear. How are those 30 series tires holding up after 10k miles? How many more miles do you think you'll get out of them? I'm more concerned about understeer as opposed to torque steer. How noticeable is that?
Beaaauutiful shots! Great update
Love the interior mods
Great video about your Type S and the quality of this video is terrific. I love the Tuxmat in my FL5 , too!
Thank you! I’ve seen a handful of FL5’s as of late and it’s such a handsome car. Congrats!
Close to 60k after sales tax and fees with torque steer and rattles. That's going to be a big no from me dog.
Someone in the forums said that Porsches are rattle filled too but that’s fair.
Well I haven't noticed any rattles and the torque steer is minimal. I don't think you would want one no matter what.
You would be correct.@@mikemccormick6128
I concluded that rattles are everywhere. Doesn't mind me. Anyway this car is just a civic anyway.
Torque Steer is minimal.
Go drive one yourself.
The build quality is mediocre, and the clutch is weak. I bought one last August, and it is fun to drive, but...the TLX is a better car.
Well done, Acura.
at trunk panel gap jeeeezuzzzz
I traded a 2022 SI for a type S. Anyone who wants to know about both cars feel free to ask me anything you want
Yo! Have one too. You don’t need a button to turn on the camera. Just put it in reverse and the camera will override that initial screen you referenced. Now you know! Even easier than a button!
Can I ask what you shot all of this footage on?
I used my Sony A7C
I have the 2024 s type and i have the same gripes. Incredible machine otherwise!
I got a ‘18 mustang GT I wanna get this as a daily but idk if another manual should be my daily 😟
My civic has the same problem with the wired apple car play. It's extremely annoying.
It most definitely needs a sunroof and a garage door opener. Hondas being cheap!
Cameras are for losers who can’t drive
🍿
A sunroof is needed maybe panaramic and leather version of the type r seats.
One regret over price markup paying close to $800 car payment
Ur nuts dude 10k miles on my tlx type s and only drive in sports plus the sound never gets old
I’m glad you enjoy it that much! Does the TLX Type S also have the pops and burble in sport plus?
@AutoEnthusedTV no if you shift in sports plus sometimes it will pop but I don't think it sounds like the integra
I think you should have gotten a Lexus. maybe like IS500 would probably give you what you want except no manual.
I like the IS500 but the lack of a manual is a dealbreaker
I love the ITS. Makes family drive time as good as the 90’s. IMO
If you know you know 🔥🙌🏼
I don't know, lol
The twelve gallon tank, no sunroof, and no option for a Recaro type seat are my only gripes. Other than that, I love mine. 👍🏾
The gas tank is the biggest annoyance for me as I am struggling to get 200 miles to the tank, but like some others mentioned, the lack of front/surround camera, no memory seating, and no widescreen for infotainment (to take advantage of split screen Android auto) were also bummers.
Most of these complaints has nothing to do with the car but rather your personal preferences
All of what I’ve said are based 100% on the car and my personal preference.
Do you got splash guards on your Tyoe S?

Wish our ITS's were made in Japan!
