I find your review completely contrary to my personal experience with these cans. I use Beyerdynamic 880pros 250ohms, AT50X etc... in my recording studio but needed a pair of cans for commuting; something with a smaller form factor that still had a decent bass response. I was completely blown away by the sound clarity, especially in the lower mids. As a bass player, I like to feel/hear the bass lines and these have a great mid and lower mid presence. the high-end was very pleasing to the ear and not hyped and tiring. One man's treasure I guess...anyway, thanks for the review.

@@TotallydubbedHD I personally found this review to come across very biased as you're clearly against on-ear. Not everyone likes to have headphones invading in their ear cavities.

I love mine. They are light and practicle. Great for pottering around.
I would use my Meze99 Classic on the sofa, but if you are moving around or commuting they do an excellent job.

It's a matter of opinion. I'm in love with mine. Just got them. Hey, they're just headphones. They connect to all of my devices and do what they are supposed to do. I knew that I would not rest until I had a pair. I did the research and knew exactly what I was purchasing.

@@alexhetherington8028 No you don't technically pay for them. I paid £300 for my A50 which is the average price and the headphones are £130 but were free as a package. They are better than the in-ear headphones that come standard with the Samsung phones. So no complaints from me.
I got the Samsung S20 Plus and I registered mine on the Samsung website. Its the AKG Y600. Im not sure how those will sound, but got them for free so I ain’t complaining. 🙏🏻
I got these today, was gifted them when I bought my galaxy s10. My first thought when I put them on was how hard they clamped down on my head, yet how easily they fall off when you're wearing them during any kind of activity where your head isn't strictly vertical. Second thing I noticed was the 'flat' sound. My Sennheiser HD4.40 BT (which I was also gifted) sound way better, and are far more comfortable to wear. Build quality wise, this wins though.

The best use for on-ear headphones is if you are in the office, and you want some air on your ears, if you are into listening music for several hours. The sound is better than on earbuds and there is less ear heating then with over-ear headphones.

These were free with a Samsung phone. Can't really question they're quality or performance at that price! Had these for almost 2yrs now and ear pad covers are beginning to delaminate where they contact the ears. Note they are used circa 2hrs every day for past 2 yrs. I see replacents pads for circa £14.00. They haven't broken, battery life is still very good and they still sound good, though I agree low base is poor and they're missing the rich/deep quality sound other manufacturers offer, for the same/similar retail price. Again, mine were free so 10 out of 10 (or 7.5 out of 10 if I paid for them)

I prefer on ears, because of my earrings and fairly big earlobes. In my case, over ears cause a lot of discomfort. Besides that, I like to be aware of my surroundings while listening to music, a podcast or even having a meeting over the phone. (Heck, I even think noise cancelling headphones and loud sound systems in traffic should be banned, as well as use of smartphones. Could save a lot of lives...)

Well, I am happy with mine in terms of sound quality. But then again, I'm not that picky nor do I have the most sensitive hearing. I also find them very very comfortable TBH. My only concern is phone calls. It has a subpar mic, if there is noise around you you might as well turn it off and speak directly via your phone (wich I have to do more often than not)

I'm always buying things in bulk as I have a issue, but nevermind that, while on eBay this month my multiple purchases were headphones, I bought 4 different sets of Bluetooth earbuds/headphones. I always buy things in multiples and I never buy new as I live on a budget but I bought a few sets and these were one set for £10 in box, used but in new condition. I think for the money they are great, I doubt I would of paid £129 as that's what I have seen them for on Argos so if you are on a budget and are able to find some cheap grab them if not and money dont but sound does matter then spend more and maybe go to a place like richer sounds where you can sound check.

Spot on the fact that this feels heavy/uncomfortable on ears. If any manufacturer design a 'on ear' headphone it should be feather light in my opinion. Otherwise it's tough for a prolonged usage

Had a pair of the earlier version, Y50BT. Bought on 5* recommendation by What Hi-Fi. I thought they sounded great & were comfortable. Unfortunately they broke after less than a week, the L/H speaker became detached from the headband. Reading Amazon comments this seemed a common design fault with them, so got a refund. The design of these doesn't look much different tbh.

Actually this headphone is pretty good. Bought at 54 bucks. And works pretty good. I use synthesizer app, and with good bass will make pure music.

When i'm at home I prefer a dirt cheap pair of on-ear headphones to my much more expensive soundcore and skullcandy earbuds. They're more comfortable, filter out background noises better, and produce a superior soundstage.

In ear head phones fall out all the time too, specially when sweating. Different strokes for different folks. I also fond bass response is better with over ear

As a freebie (which seems how most people got them) they're OK, plus I'm only really using them connected to a groovebox thingy.
Some £25 JVC HA-530's are what I'm using for working out. they give better sound quality and they're enclosed.

I have to say, i dont care about quality of BT, these headset you can use for several days. I sleep with them with music. And has a much better range than the y50's

@@TotallydubbedHD I found out that I dont have to disconnect the BT connection of the Akg when I want to listen to other devices, just pause the one your using then start the other one, and it will connect automatically. some kind of smart switch, they also pause the playback when you take them of. Im starting to love these.

Great review...i ordered a set for 30 odd quid with my a70 upgrade from three...by the sounds of it i might be selling them straight away lol...id maybe have kept them if they were OVER ear...but no not impressed myself...cant beat a simple pair of wired explosive jvc in ear headphones from argos for pennies :)

totallydubbedHD its weird because THREE actually gave me the IN EAR headphones when i got my order of the a70...i guess they had so many complaints of folk wanting the IN EAR headphones etc... the in ear headphones they supply are pretty good quality if used used with a bass booster app etc but CONSTANT use on the in ear set only lasts aprox 2-3 hours depending on sound use etc... but simply replace the buds for better fitting and noise cancellation ;)
I kinda prefer on ear so I can hear what's going on around me while using them. Which is why I dislike in ear, because I have no idea what's going on around me.

The only problem I have is the bloody thing keeps pausing at any given random time. If I move it pauses, how to turn that off its so annoying .
Even the maker, AKG, warns that these are NOT for everyone. Their site basically tells you that they are crap. Thanks to your review, I will not be buying a pair even though they are currently less than $30 US on Ebay with free shipping.

Well looks like I’m late to this party. I have 3 audiophile head phones and the Sony Xwhatever03 headphones. I need something I don’t care about and found these on eBay for 30 bucks. Should be here in a few days. Couldn’t pass it up. Great review👍🏻

I think you're getting quite some flames due to it being free on some bundles with phones. I got mine buying and I like them cause I liked the old y50 (non bt), for me it's good enough and I live on Brazil where you can't get much better for the price it's being sold, so I'm fine with what I've got

Odd design, but the look is clean and the audio quality is balanced, even being limited to SBC codex (and yes I enjoyed the Y50BT until my youngest daughter inherited them from me).

I already owned much better and more expensive wireless headphones (Sony and Audio-Technica) but out of curiosity, I bought it today at USD 15.79. Maybe I'll give it to my nephew.
I just bought a pair for a bargain price of £33 and think they're alright but nothing special. I find the bass to be almost none existent. The sound quality is nice but the lack of bass is very noticeable. For what i paid I'm very happy but if I'd have paid £130 I'd have been really disappointed!

Nope, on-ear, at least to me, is more uncomfortable due to the general increased clamp force over (good) over-ears that strike a better balance for glass wearers.

I got these free like with most people, and for me the sound quality is generally not bad....but not great either. The one thing which is terrible is the mic. Being on teams calls or doing recordings sounds like im in a tin can. Its just awful!

On ear is better for sweat inducing situations like in a hot environment or when at the gym working out.

Well I've decided to keep mine, wasn't worth the hassle of trying to sell them... I really find them comfortable, which I'm surprised at... as I watched one reviewer say they were uncomfortable for glasses wearers...

Would be a slightly better experience as you're not having to deal with Bluetooth compression, but still won't fundamentally change the sound of the headphones.

Yes, I wouldn't bother if audio quality and passive noise isolation are things you look for.
If you have tinnitus (an old colleague had it), I'd suggest using good-quality over-the-ear headphones with ANC. Consult your doctor for more information.
