How to get out of any awkward social situation-
*Plays dog barking clip from goosebumps*
Yes.
I was actually scared of the evil sponge as a child.
I have no idea why.
Your not alone.😑😑😑
What? How?
Same 😂🤷🏽♂️
same
Same
To be fair to the monster in How to Kill a Monster, if I remember right it was actually a baby. That's why it never really did any damage to the kids. This wasn't just kid vs. Monster. This was kid vs. Kids.
Wait if that was a baby then how big is an adult
@@evangamer0073 you never actually figure out. SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK!
.
.
They finally manage to kill it and run out of the house. Then they finally finish the letter that explains that the monster they killed was just a baby and its family lives in the swamp surrounding the house, waiting to try and get revenge.
Aren’t the monsters allergic to humans?
I bet the adult monster was colossal
@@troppie7823 Only the baby that they killed was allergic to humans
I thought the monsters in #5 were awesome in how it stalked them through the house. It also had one of the best endings where they read the grandparents note that there's apparently dozens of them, right as they're out in the forest
AnvilPro100 I read the book a lot when I was a kid.
And the sun is setting by the time they get out there. Don't forget that.
That was one of my favorite books and I still love it. But that book needs a sequel.
It starts with Gretchen and Clark sitting at the table eating breakfast and Charley is laying down. The parents are eating as well too. "Well kids, get ready, me and your mom have to go to Atlanta for a job, so your going to your grandparent's house." Dad says putting his bowl in the sink. "It's really important." Mom adds. My eyes wide with horror. Clark's eyes do the same. I see Charley getting up and running upstairs as if he said 'No, I'm staying here!'.
That part would be what happened before the beginning of How to Kill a Monster.
But sorry if I wasted your time I got distracted.
Offbrand xenomorph
@@thefanofthreethings6595 seriously it soubds like a xenomorph
Yeah maybe it’s just me, but the whole “be careful what you wish for” thing, never really worked for me.
“What do YOU wish for? *evil laugh*
“For me to be omnipotent, without any entirely necessary addendums or additions, as preapproved by myself before said granting and expenditure of said wish.”
“......well shit.”
I think Werewolf skin might have been a nod to Yeenaldooshi of Native American folklore
Better known as Skinwalkers
it would've been cool if it was more like the ben 10 alien yenaldooshi, or loboan as the wiki implies. it could've been an alien episode, although that's been done numerous times in goosebumps already.
Interesting. I also give R.L Stine points for putting a new spin on the werewolf tropes.
@@Charles12 🐸
@@rogue7723 🐴
Yeah
Did you just call us “Hallo-weiners”?
That Guy From That Thing I believe he did.
Halloweeeners .-.
😑
No, he said that we have "hollow wieners". Insulting our junk
yes, yes they did. they pulled an uncle joke.
The books were much better in portraying the monsters, not least because we only had words to go on and had to visualise it. That said, I twisted the monsters (or at least the ones that weren't spoiled on the front cover) into some pretty unsettling forms inside my head as a kid.
You and me both. When we read the Goosebumps books in class, I drew the creatures the way that I pictured them. My teacher just stared at the sketches and asked "what do you see in your nightmares?"
Werewolf skin is what happens when you’re in a fur suit for too long.
Tell me about it
Not only was Werewolf Skin a much better book, but the whole werewolf skin idea is actually based on old folklore that worked pretty similarly, where witches would turn themselves into werewolves by wearing skinned wolf pelts they'd enchant.
Werewolf skin was better in book form. Spoiler's the skin's didn't blow up in book and the story had good reasons for what happened and the ending was better in the book. also other story that goosebumps changed for live TV! Love the channel!
yeah i loved the book but the tv series butchered it
@@meioubunny I know right the books wrote a lot of great endings.
Well the skin thing is actualy how one becames a Werewolf in the 1st place according to some lore.
@@Raximus3000 true what I mean how they made fur look and how they just went boom for little to no reason in show
Gem Rock
Low budget and they thought an explosion would entertain kids, lol.
For some reason, I'm reminded of the JonTron video on Goosebumps.
Their voices are a bit similar.
Those actually got me into Jontron and his videos. They're still super funny. I rewatch them regularly.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH-*beeeeeeeep*
Is that because they both talk about goosebumps?
Just with the difference that this is less awkward in retrospect
Everyone knows the evil sponge is the worst and dumbest Goosebumps monster.
all of the goosebumps monsters suck
The potato were kind of interesting
Oooohhh who lives in a pineapple under the sea?!
@@ekul3374 a sloth is truly the best monster obviously
yes
The sponge from "It came from beneath the sink" actually scared me when I was little. But I watched it recently and had no idea why
I actually liked Clarissa, her outfit was goals, and she knew what she was doing, she was just a troll
I liked Clarissa and she looks almost exactly like I imagined her in the book
She's actually one of, if not, the most powerful goosebumps monsters.
just a head's up, Melissa Brewer played Clarissa in Be Careful What You Wish For
I almost went death when hearing her voice
What about Karlsville does anyone remember those episodes with the kids getting sucked into the minutiae town
That was both hilarious and stupid
Yeah, it was called Chillogy. It had 3 parts and was pretty good.
@Harper Henson XDDD
Yes, I hecking love Chilogy
hmm i wonder if the dog button is wired to the like butto- *ARF ARF ARF ARF ARF*
Lmao
What's even more funny? I READ Bark but HEARD the Arf sound...of the audio clip and so I couldn't even be a smartass and joke about how "it's not actually Bark. It's more like Arf" lmmfao
ok give me a sec
done mostly because i can hear it to
*BORK BORK BORK BORK BORK BORK*
_-Kanye West, Rap God from Goosebumps_
Doodleium
You got a bork too much there m8o
Still better than any song made by Kanye
Thanks to you I had to spend an hour reviewing the list of classic Goosebumps books and realize that I didn't read all of them when I was younger like I thought I did... I apparently missed three and I feel a huge sense of disappointment in myself.
#56: The Curse of Camp Cold Lake
#60: Werewolf Skin
#61: I Live in Your Basement!
Seriously, how did younger me miss those?
I feel like if you truly love a show, you wouldn't actually mind a couple bad episodes. but i do believe that's just my opinion.
I guess you could say it was...
Too Grool for school.
...Yeah, I hate myself.
"Sponges can't be scary!" well someone has never played Dwarf Fortress.
The Swamp Monster is one of my favorite Goosebumps Monsters. I liked how it looked in both the TV show and the movie.
"Sponges aren't scary"
You LUCKILY haven't seen "Face Freeze" then.
Carried Is the best goosebumps monster because if a child ask for sloppy to die or whatever she can probably make her,he gone
Uh, what?
I liked How to Kill a Monster because it brought suspense to it. I guess it’s because I was a kid
I still wish it had a sequel
7:13 “I’m a dinosaur.”
They may be the worst but they are still good
I love the genuine nostalgia of them.
I don't care if the werewolves from Werewolf Skin are on this list, they scared the shit out of me when I was 10 lmao
sock I had nightmares for months
Thank you for your support, despite what they say about these monsters, I think they were pretty cool and along with the episode’s special guitar effects 🎸⚡️One of my most favorite Goosebumps episodes.
Please do top 5 Twilight Zone episodes.
The entire time I was watching the swamp monster episode, I was thinking to myself "This thing sounds exactly like the Xenomorphs from Aliens."
BRUH IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THAT LOL
The swamp monster actually was used as inspiration for the Evil Things design in the film The Haunting Hour: Dont Think About It
Bark bark bark bark (goosebumps theme plays)
cringy
I was never a Goosebumps fan. But I love your lists. (When you don't have an interfering story-line going on. (Hey, when Linkara does it, he makes it feel like he's allowed time for it.))
Nilbog seems like a more innocent town name in comparison to Wolf Creek
The Werewolf Skin episode is actually more accurate to the original folklore of werewolves than the average transformation. They were described as sorcerers and skinwalkers. Also, that doctor’s voice wasn’t that bad.
*ARF ARF ARF ARF ARF*
Give me likes.
There you go
7:07 can't stop laughing
“Sponges aren’t scary”
Tell that to my 4 year old nephew. He was HORRIFIED by this episode.
4:14 this is weirdly correct, the earlyest legends of Wolfman talk exactly about this. Man put on the Skin of Wolfs and turn into Wolfs. 8:09 Didnt you watch the the little Mermaid TV Series? Sponges can be damn scary. Oodly little Brainsucker...
IS THAT PENNYWISE IN THE BACK!? WAHA-WAHA-WAHA!
I wouldn't even call Clarissa a monster she wasn't in any way threatening, opposed to the lead of the episode or delivering punishment. The fact that not every episode needed a monster was one of the things I liked most about the show and I think its unfair not to remember that.
SPOILER ALERT
It's been roughly 10 years since I've read werewolf skin but I do remember most of it clearly most of the book doesn't mention the werewolves directly it mainly Hypes them up near the end of the book the main character and his friend managed to break the curse by keeping the Skins away from the the kid's guardians. Honestly I don't want to say the ending because that ending was so good it is worth reading on your own time werewolf skin was the first Goosebumps book I read and since then I couldn't stop reading books by RL Stine some of his books aimed at teenagers was also surprisingly good though it's hard to remember the series names
That statue is so bad I legitimately get a really unsettling feeling looking at it
Xenomorphs are much better than those ugly monsters!
*ALIEN RULE*
Xenomorphs, Predators, THE MARTIANS FROM SANTA CONQUERS THE MARTIANS, They're All better than those on the list
HAIL ALIENS 👽👾
The monster in number 5 makes the same sound as the xenomorph
YES THEY DO!
Predator city hunter games what?
I love that clip they inserted from The Road to El Dorado! 😁
My favorite part of Teacher’s Pet is when he says Ya Got That Wrong
Thanks for the reviews but I liked Clarissa the bird lady. Not bouncing off of the main character doesn't really matter to me. What is this, an Abbot and Costello routine? Anyways, her character is a bit of an odd trickster and that fits since the crow is one of the smarter birds. Tricksters kind of live in their own world, so for me, no bouncing off of required. I remember this episode as one that stuck out. I am a sucker for morality based fairy tales and this one had all the elements I enjoyed. As for the quality of the statue, that has nothing to do with the quality of the monster.
The living evil sponge wasn't scary but I legit had a nightmare about the potato with teeth from the end of the episode
The teacher from Teacher's Pet is the same guy who played "Spidey" in Say Cheese and Die.
I disagree about the Werewolf Skin episode. While I think the acting is corny now and the costumes could look a bit better, I find the story itself to be very interesting and pretty creepy.
Also, that bit where the humans have to wear the skin of the wolf to become one is one of the earliest legend about were-wolf. He was one the first " documented" way to turn volontarly into a were-wolf and was ussually used by wizard, witch or just peple who wanted to eat people during a full moon. What they call a cheap plot device is actually one of the most faithull adaptation of the early european were-wolf legend.
That episode scred the shit out of me when i was little
I want a Goosebumps X-Files crossover.
EL DORADO!
"You can't make a Sponge scary!"
It Came from Beneath the Sink (The Book): Allow me to Introduce myself.
Personally, I really liked the Werewolf Skin episode :)
Great review! How about a Top 5 Best and Worse monsters from R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour Series.
I LOVE the Werewolf Skin book. It was not translated to TV well.
Actually it's not known for werewolves at all. I spent two years visiting wolf Creek and they are mainly known for the skiing resorts.
you realize that this book and episode was fiction right? Stine uses a name to add to the story line.
I heard that the furry con there gets wild...
I better go,
I should go,
I'm Commander Shep~
Best Twlight Zone episodes
I love how R.L Stein thinks he's more of a comedy writer. I'm pretty sure these monsters confirm that
Idk the swamp monster and the evil thing never struck me as comedic......
That dog always scared me as a kid.
Those eyes...
if by any chance you see this, can you do a top 5 goosebumps stories that changed the most, when adapted to the tv series?
even with heart of iron the dog in the goose bumps intro still gives me the creeps of and least favorite villain the infamous slappy boy he kept me awake whenever i saw or heard his laugh but i will subscribe to your channel because it kinda fun and takes off the edge of being scared witless and makes you laugh keep up the scares thxs fair
“Can’t do it! Not today!” 😂😂
okay I'm not the only one who likes the dog in the intro
The swamp monster is actual my 5th fave. Just for nostalgia purposes
“Slappy Halloween!”
#4. It is a call back to classic werewolf lore.
I love how even from the thumbnail I remembered that lady's name was Clarissa because she had the same name as me and i thought that was so cool... 😂😂😂
Guys 2 years ago ur channel did a video on how dark The Mask was supposed to be and now there's a new trailer for the mask!! Please review it as it looks like it's going according to the comics!!! Yey!!!
The twist was that Mr. Blickenship was Mark Zuckerberg all along!!!
You guys should do a list on RL Stines the Haunting Hour
you really love that dog, don't you lol
the sponge is on my top 10 favorite goosebumps monsters lol
The lizard monsters from Calling All Creeps were pretty awful too
In both the book & the episode, Clarisa warns Samantha that her wording for her wishes needs to be exact. Meaning she worded her wishes too vaguely so the Universe filled in the blanks.
Fantastic list. I figured the "Gruel" from "It cam from Beneath the Sink" would be on here. said on last week's list, that thing scared the shit out me when I was a kid, but when I got older and watch that episode in its entirety, I realized hoe not scary the creature, as well as the whole episode is. It was basically a comedy episode. I was also scared by the Lizard-Rabbit from "Teacher's Pet", but looking at the still image, I can see that its really a crappy cropping effect. Can't wait until next week (or since some of Hurricane Michael is gonna hit and may (or will) knock out our power, whenever we get the power back) to see what you have in store for "The X-Files".
Oh my god. I have been trying to find the name for how to kill a monster for fucking ever. I remembered watching it as a kid and have been trying to rewatch it forever
As someone from the the south particularly east Texas the monster in How to kill a monster it looks like a mutated alligator snapping turtle
7:06 never heard of the book but it sounds smiler to R.L stines new series were at the end of each book they end up getting an invitation to horror land at then end. The one it sounds similar to from the series is welcome to camp slither
That evil sponge upset me as a child. Things that aren't as they seem is creepy & the plants dying after the children try to bury it to kill it also scared me.
I think a nice touch was the slime that came out of the monster was green possibly hinting that it was monster blood
Can you do top 5 goosebumps reimage art style of R.L stain books. Like there goosebumps book with picture book.
You should do the top 5 worst are you afraid of the dark monsters
MORE GOOSEBUMPS!!!
(Goosebumps dog bark)
Me:I’m *Dead inside*
That Clarissa woman reminds me of the aunt from Sleepaway Camp
I hope some of these monster make an appearance in the new goosebump Disney+ show.🤟😁
Number 1!? SERIOUSLY!? THAT EPISODE TERRIFIED ME AS A KID!
Is that the pennywise cutout that was used in Pop Quiz Hotshot Episode 5?
What about the Jeff Golblum vampire? That should've been awesome, but it wasn't.
The blob that ate everyone should be in this countdown for being a lackluster monster and also the show cut the ending where the blob is one that write the story about kids defeating the blob
What’s funnier then 24 ?
25..... (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)
@Obunga Is watching a show that died already
*uncontrollable snickering*
I loved the gruel it was almost my favorite episode.
Yea. It actually was my favorite. I remember. Not for any scary reason...but it was just kinda fun town I could create another storynusing it to tell my little cousin. We always had sponges in the house
The dogs eyes from the clip don't hold up well, but the goosebumps intro and the song that comes with it is still as great as ever
Are you going to do a top five best and worst monsters for Are You Afraid of the Dark? Also, looking good, Heather. Nice outfit. Also, the werewolves from Werwolf Skin is based on the Native American myths of werewolves.
GREAT TOP V WORST GOOSEBUMPS MONSTERS EVER !!!
I'm alos not the biggest storyline of Werewolf Skin but I still enjoyed the video enough and I really liked the ending
Ngl, that How to Kill a Monster monster kinda freaked me out as a kid
Since you already talked about grace the baby from strained peas, where would you put her on this list.
