It´s taken some time until it arrived, but now it´s here & we are ready to unpack, set up & play the new Pearl eMerge electronic drum kit!
We are using the e/HYBRID version of the kit, which features an 18" bass drum instead of the standard bass pad of the slightly more affordable e/TRADITIONAL kit version.
The eMerge comes with standard acoustic drum pad diameters & has some nice trigger technology features:
14" dual zonesnare pad with position sensing; rim click can be played with the palm resting on the snare head.
10 / 12 / 14" dual zone tom pads
15" dual zone crash
18" 3 zone ride
Both cymbals are chokeable by touching the choke sensor, which is located at the bottom of the cymbals.
14" dual zone hihat
You can find the kit & single components in our online shop:

Please feel free to leave a comment or ask any question you might have. You can also get in touch with our service team directly through info@drum-tec.de

I'm impressed ! Pearl did a great job with the module and the set looks great !
now that is a gorgeous looking set!
I had fun while playing it. I think it has a lot of promise.
A kit that could possibly be competing with the TD-25.
Not very hard to compete with the td 25. I wished the td25 sounded more natural.
This kit is basically what the TD-25kvx tried to do
At least this has an 18” bass drum.
The td-25 is a little old though. Roland needs to release a new mid range line.
This looks and sounds surprisingly good !
And with Ralf as a test pilot, we are sure to have the best possible rendering as always.
Thank you! :) Glad I don´t need no parachute...
Looks good, sounds bad! Its not even close to the worst of the drum-vst`s out there. I cant use this in any professional setting, thats for sure. 4000 pounds for this is...well there is much, much better alternatives: Buy a Roland td 17 instead and connect it to your computer with toontrack anything. A third of the price and sounds a hundred times better.
@@soulslaveone Let me disagree. I do think it sounds nice. Nicer than Rolands or Yamahas kits. This can't obviously compete with any kind of VST. But in a gig context, I won't feel comfortable running e-drums + a vst hosted in a computer. If you lose the computer, drums are gone. Having a independant drum brain would wiser (in my opinion).
Regarding the price range, For this ticket, I would go ATV all the way, or something mixed with the Mimic Pro. But that just me. Let's see how the market react.
Pearl drum set used to typing using fee is always good quality especially the hardware and a track you're kicking butt in electronic field now
Wow..the kit is so cool. Its accoustic sound is more realistic than roland v drums. And the bass n drum jungle module is awesome..wow
These sound super goooooooood
Pearl has set a new standard !
great playing, and what a sound !!!! i'm not the person who likes the D&B sounds, but this kit sounds epic !
Ambiance is also very very real.... the Blu note kit, just sounds like the one at Blue Note...
Thank you Maximus! :)
Would like to see module alone with other pads or cymbals
thank you!
Finally, this is really good Ralph, it sounds better than TD 50 n @ par with Mimic, how much will d module alone cost?
The cymbals sound great! The inexpensive e kits don't give you that real sound from a hat.
parece un buen kit tiene un sonido espectacular.
Eduardo Castro Cabanas lastima que nadie dice el precio en dólares
It's ALIVE! Woohoo! I like it. Wanna see more! Nice playing! I am moving to Germany and going to become friends with Ralph and he is going to teach me everything he knows! :)
No problem! And I have good coffee at the studio also ;-)
@@drumtecTV Haha... I couldn't imagine. You have forgot more about drumming than I know. We should create "DrumtecUSA" Portsmouth, New Hampshire. :)
Man this Ralf is a freaking beast!!!
Thank you so much!
Bill Perri very interesting indeed 🤔🤔
Great playing. Great video. I’m torn on if I like the emerge kit or not. Waiting for it to play in person. Did you try brushes and mallets on it to hear differences?
I need it!!!!
No problem... ;)

Kind regards!
Very solid kit, but for the price I can't put it over the ATV Artist set. ATV's set just looks and feels so much better. Pearl has the slightly better module, but I use drum software when I record so I don't care about that. If you're gonna spend 4k on eDrums, would still recommend ATV Artist or a variation of the Drum-tec Diabolo.
Agree 100%
For 4k, I think I would prefer the TD-30; just seems more flexible.
@@michaelcottrell2445 Or you could just pony up an extra 1k and get a TD-50k ha! You can never go wrong with a Roland!
@@bwh3655 Wanted to do that, but $5,999 for the 4 pcs kit with 2 cymbals is too much money. I don't need 4 million sounds I just need something that is going sound great and trigger great (especially the HH). Been using a friends Alesis and the HH triggering is shit.
@@michaelcottrell2445 Hey Michael, have you considered the drum-tec diabolo series with Roland module/cymbals?

this the future
So one can't use other pads to trigger sounds in d module?
Solid demo once again. Although it’s hard to buy anything from just these demos because you make everything sound good 😂😂
Thank you so much! :)
Very nice. I'm curious if you can expand the kit with say an additional cymbal(s) and/or pads? It looks like the wiring harness and connector only allow what comes with the kit.
Hi, there are 3 separate trigger inputs in addition to the standard cable tree. In our other demo, we have hooked up another crash & one more tom pad (one more pad would still be possible):

Kind regards!
How loud (acoustically) is that kick drum? Is it muffled inside?
The sounds are great! Not sure if the hi-hat is great too.
The Hihat works / triggers very well! Kind regards
Come on Ralf. Need some of your thoughts on this vs td-17/ATV EXS/Etc...
PLEASE! 👊
Hey Jim :-D well, it´s a different price league first off. The eMerge sells for roundabout 4000€, while EXS-5 / TD-17 KVX are much more affordable. It all comes down to your personal needs & preference, and as always: best would be to play all of the kits side by side for yourself, to get a good impression of feel / rebound / playability etc. All 3 kits are great for what they are, the advantage of Roland/ATV is the cross compatibility (also with drum-tec pads) & felixibility. With the eMerge, you are more limited as of now. Kind regards!
what is the music name for this song that your playing at the beginning of this video?
wowwwwwwwwwwwww
Great drumming! I better go practice! Those seem to sound more natural than the Roland td/20s that I have.
Hey Mike, thank you very much! :)
Can you play with brushes on them, as with the Korg Wavedrum, to change how it sounds?
That's a good question.
Don't buy the kit just based on this video, because this guy can make anything sound great, anything!
man wish it had two crashes i feel like that is mandatory for these good drumsets
Imho they got the playability right, the pads right (even though for a flagship they could look better), got the dynamic range and gunning effect right (I heard none) but got the samples wrong. They copied a Mimic Pro feature (ability to mix room & dry mics, great) but the samples in general sound like a keyboard from 10 years ago. I might be mistaken but sounds like the samples are still mono (?!) But well, there are tastes for everyone!
So. How would this steak up against the Roland vad series or strike pro se? Triggering drum vst’s would be its only purpose
-Someone pls make a module with Superior Drummer 3 in it. Every time a see a new high-end kit like this, im surprised how bad their modules sound. Toontrack, are u listening? Thanx for the video:)
If it was that easy, I guess somebody would have done it already ;) The Pearl Mimic Pro has the Steven Slate library on it, but comes at a higher price also:

Kind regards!
2 questions: does it come with everything, but the hi hat stand and pedals, 2 can you connect additional cymbals and toms?
Hi Akuma, yes & yes :) you can connect 3 additional pads. Have you checked out our playing all kits demo with 4th tom & 2nd crash:

Nice when will it be available and is it sold module only with many pad capabilities?
Price?
Thank you
Hey Matthew, the kit will be available/in stock from today, and as far as I know, single components will also be available eventually. For more info you can always get in touch through info@drum-tec.de. Kind regards!
I'll be curious to play it. Certainly lightyears ahead of the horrible feeling/sounding ePro live kit. Not really impressed with the module though as a main rig setup. Aside from the individual outputs, seems like TD-25KV competitor than a TD-50, but for the price tag you wouldn't know that. But definitely deserves a round of applause for a much better effort, I love the look of the kit/pads better than Yamaha's offerings.
How do the Puretouch pads feel compared to DTX pads? They seems to be, vu in not so much less bouncy, but rather a little sluggish.? Like you almost have to try harder than normal.
Hi, the pads feel "harder" and are quite a bit louder than regular mesh pads by drum-tec / Roland. You can adjust head tension to your preference though. It comes pretty close to the feel of an acoustic higher pitched drum. Kind regards!
Como posso comprar?
Samples sound good! But, I hear some unwanted sounds. When you're hitting the toms, I hear another sound, as if it was a mesh head.
And I hear some kind of rubber or click sound on rimshots.
Sounds great, hate the 2 rack 1 1 1 1floor set up tho'. 1 12, 2 14's,
Snare, B drum & couple more
crash rides & I'd play it.J.
Hey John, have you had a look at the drum-tec pro series yet? :)

is there an extra wire to attach a second crash tho ?

drumtecTV ok , thx
I love this drum set but, very sadly, it's ridiculously over priced !
Does it come with the hihat stand
Hey Richard, no it is not included. All included components/parts are shown in the intro, we've added additional drum-tec hardware/stands to set up the kit, which you can find over here:

Maybe a stupid question, but is this vawe technology compatible with the mimic pro module? Or is it only for Mdl-1?
No, unfortunately there is no cross compatibility with any other brand. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV but it is the same brand
@@eroennes4192 Yes, but different technology/developer etc, the eMerge has nothing in common with the Pearl Mimic Pro sadly, while the Mimic Pro is fully compatible with all drum-tec/Roland/ATV pads. Kind regards!
i kinda hate the way the cymbals look. Why not keep it simple? Great drumming!
Thank you very much Mauricio! Yes, it needs some time to get used to the cymbal design :) Kind regards!
Onde posso comprar essa bateria ?? Por favor eu agradeço..

Why only two cymbals?
That´s the basic kit setup, but there will be bigger / expanded kit configurations as well in the near future.

Its mind boggling that in 2021 you can't get a decent e kit for $1500....$5000 for these is....unreal
How I would like to have that battery. But I am poor and I am from Chile. and buy it so that it arrives from the united states until here it is very expensive
Well, there goes my next mortgage payment lol
;-D if you get the kit from drum-tec, you'll get the Live Sound Edition sound upgrade for free with it:

wait wait! Why the hell i have to play toms rimshot like that? Is it not capable to detect rimshots with a normal rim+head drummer tecnique? I can easily do that even with my diy edrum module and diy pads! Sounds are very good but this is disappointing...
How many hours you play drums on daily basis?
lol
Ralf was born as a drum. He had to go through extensive surgery to make him human. :)
Really Nice
@@joshferry3628 Man, now I imagine looking at a snare head in the mirror after getting up in the morning ;-D
Hey Benn, it´s not as much anymore as it used to be in my time at the music college years ago (several hours of practicing/rehearsing almost every day). Working for drum-tec/running a studio & having a family definately decreases the every-day-drumming-time routine ;-)
How much $. as shown?

How much is this in canadian dollar?
Hi, please get in touch through info@drum-tec.de for an individual quote incl. international shipping. Kind regards!
looks just as good a the ATV exs5 and roland TD17 for a much bigger price...
and one less crash
Hi Andrew, well there certainly are some major differences though :) Bigger cymbal pads (18"/15"/14") to start with, bigger pad diameters (10/12/14") & Korg wavetrigger features (3 zones on the snare, positional sensing). The MDL-1 module has 3 additional trigger inputs (TD-17 has 2, ATV xD3 has only 1) and 8 direct outputs (both TD-17 & xD3 have none). The icon rack is a completely different piece of hardware than any beginner level e-drum rack etc etc. Just to name a few obvious differences :) Kind regards!
How much?

How much for that one?, i need it

Why only 1 crash .... should have at least 2 crash cymbals as standard.
Hi! The MDL-1 module has 3 more trigger inputs, so you can add more pads:

This expanded kit configuration will also be available in the near future.

Sabrán cuánto es su Precio?
This is ok if you live on a house but if you live in an appartment with neighbors above and below you forget it, it’s too loud, like hitting plastick buckets
edrums are great but i still prefer acoustic kits....
$???

Hey brother make us sound for reggae and afro fusion with tec e drums african be your best sell for studio churches etc
Durm
?
It should be $2300 max. Prohibitive cost is the bane for every musician in existence.
Hey Josh, that would be the price region of an Alesis Strike kit & the eMerge obviously plays/triggers on a completely different level :) The price range of the eMerge is justified, keeping in mind it´s production quality, features etc. If you have the chance, play both kits (Alesis/Pearl) side by side for a fair comparison. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV yes that is what you have been conditioned to believe.
@@riverwalktalesofterror8045 his job revolves around setting up, playing, and recording edrums for a living. Don't be such a flannel. I own a strike pro and the triggering is it's weak point.
El baterist se sale ,vende
Bit pricey. Good kit, but......
mmmm.... the beats on the snare sound all the same, for me
Hi Mario, have you considered using headphones or a good pair of studio monitors for reference, they do sound very different actually :) We will be uploading an "all kits" demo of the eMerge kit/module, which will showcase all onboard kits in a row. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV jajajajaj i have good ears ad headphones. Pearl Mimic is good,ATV is good but the dynamic of Roland is superior . Saludos
Nope..
Hey hope you’re doing well, if one day but any chance you decide to give away a drum set our church really needs one and we will be forever grateful to you thank you
No reason to buy acoustic drums anymore
Acoustic drums out of the box sound terrible
You must spend hours tuning it up to get a good sound and re tuning
E drums win on too many levels
Are you trolling ?
cymbals sound awful.
I have to disagree with just about everyone in the comments. I don’t mean to be a buzz kill or anything like that, but I noticed how fake and tacky the snares sound.
Even today I think sound wise this still sounds better than most kits on the market. I think they didn't market it well. And didn't offer different size kits which probably hurt is sales as well
