    If people want another option - when I made my Jester cosplay, I used plastic rope for my tail core! It only cost me a few dollars from the hardware store. Then I made the spade from cardboard, and hand sewed on some tights I dyed with food dye and vinegar! Mine ended up around finger width, so I was able to use some pretty rings for the cuff!

It has a really natural bounce and is completely posable for photos. You have to make a little harness for it to sit properly though. Great minds think alike lol! Yours turned out really good! 💕💕💕

    When I made mine I made a tube of fake leather around a core of those giant rubber twisty ties that are used for hanging big heavy things with some batting to keep its shape. Nice thing about that is I can shape it how ever I like and it holds it. Part of the twisty tie sticks out so I can attach it to a belt.

      The robotic tail is awesome, but there are inconveniences to using it for everyday cosplay! I can't sit with it on, it makes a noise when it moves (so I can't use it for video that requires audio), and it's large and inflexible, which makes it difficult to travel with. I had a Jester tail before I tried the robotic tail, and it's important that I have one still! Thus far the only video that has featured the robotic tail is the sponsored video about the product - I've been wearing my own handmade tail in all the others.

      That makes sense. Thanks for answering. I was just confused but the tail (non robotic) looks awesome.

    which tights specifically do you get? there are so many different types and materials

    • @GinnyDi

      I use the nylon spandex ones! Each one has their own benefits, but the great thing about WLC is that they dye all their fabrics to the same color palettes, so in general they match each other across products! You can get every single item in every single color, basically, so you can pick and choose which items suit you.

    I've actually got a cosplay quandary myself. I was able to find footwear for my character in the correct size and style but not the right colour. Is there a way to paint them or otherwise change their colour to the correct one without the end result looking like a 12yo made the attempt (currently black patent leather if that helps)

    • @GinnyDi
      @GinnyDi  4 роки тому +1

      Yes! You should pick up some leather paint, it's designed to adhere to leather and flex without cracking. I like Angelus brand. If you're careful not to get it on any non-leather pieces (soles, trim, etc.) it can look quite natural.

    Fun random fact about me that no one asked for: I wore devil horns, fangs, and elf ears to school for almost a whole year. People thought it was super cool and my teachers didn't care, but that doesn't mean people made fun of me. Moral of the story; so what you want! If people make fun of you for being you just remember that those people usually are only like that cause your stealing their attention and aren't a basic bitch. Have a good day

    I know you have strong feelings about certain comments and if this falls under that please delete this but if I could recommend a foam dowel it would be from sks props from Blick. I used the Joanne one for a ruby of the sea and it snapped in half lol. Also could have been a fluke but just another option for those out there.

    hat tail tutorial is exactly what I needed to finish up my tiefling cosplay! I was way over complicating it and i didnt even think to connect the tail with fishing line to another part of the costume or body in order to have a moving tail! Im really dumb! 😅 Thank You for this!

    • @GinnyDi
      @GinnyDi  4 роки тому +14

      Not dumb at all, I so often find myself overcomplicating costume things! Then I see someone else do something so simple and effective and I'm like WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT...
