What a nice growl this guitar has. I’m not normally a fan of this colour but the control plate and contrasting pickups make it pop. Thanks Jon for another great video 😄👍👍
Oh yea.. the color is so mesmerizing that it screwed up the color balance of the video too!! Lol
Although these are G&L made pickups the say they are closely modeled after the Duncan ‘59 set and they sound really nice in this guitar.
I have a SD59.. they don’t sound the same. I guess we’re all hear differently✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hello Jon! Very Interesting. I don’t have a way to compare both so I’m just going by G&L own description in their custom order page in the section of substitutions. Does the 59 you have wired to 250k volume, 500k tone pot? I think those are the values G&L uses in their wiring. The second tone for the bass does not loads the pickups so the 1 Meg resistor in it can be ignored. I’m wondering if the wiring and values in the PTB circuit might be contributing to the differences you noticed. Hope you are doing great. Always great content in the channel.

I really liked this guitar, the sound is still thick and dense, although for myself, I would choose HSS. About the musical and sound design of the review, I can only say one thing - Jonathan always, as always, has everything at the highest level, and the music flows right into the soul. I looked at the channel, if I did not miss it, I did not find a review on FGN guitars, although you can find reviews on these guitars on UA-cam, it would be very interesting to see your review. If you have any plans to share them, I am sure your subscribers will be happy to watch it. In my opinion, very worthy tools. This is a beautiful guitar and sound amazing in your hands. I really would love to have one. But one thing I do not understand (and this applies to other high priced guitars) is why a $1500 (US) guitar comes with a gig bag. It makes one think that this is a marketing ploy to make the guitar appear more reasonably priced but then "surprise!" you have to pay another $100-$150 to get a hard case to protect your investment.
Ask G&L.. I ponder on the same thing too ✌️🤣

so nice sounds! can you tell me more how works the split knob vs 3-way switch? I have chance to try this guitar and one position is deaf, is that as well on yours? I mean its wrong wiring in that one piece. so I'd like to know how it works correctly. thank you.

Another great review. I love G&Ls and would love to get a Skyhawk HH, but with coil split. I agree with you on the Okume bodies they do, that would look in Okume with transparent blue. I also agree with your comment about the darker humbuckers, I run a SC20H JCM800, which is already a bit on the bright side, those would go perfect with it.

You are a talented guitar player no doubt, what makes it better though is that you are enjoyable to listen to.
I tried G&L guitars in 2013-2015 but I just am not fond of them, not fond of PRS either all in a Strat design. Different strokes for different folks
I had a 50TH anniversary Strat that was so nice, sold it to a good friend but my Custom Shop Strat I have now even without the Humbucker switch is my fave. Please no offense taken to you or G&L or PRS just love my Fender Strats with the Maple (Birdseye) necks. I just wish the switches and control knobs were close to my head and not in the way of my right hand stroke. Maybe more flush as well. Can’t have it all I guess

Thanks for the graceful reply, you are a true gentleman as I try and live my life in this way also. I must add that a while back (10 years) I played a chambered G&L and I like the response and tones that came out of that guitar. Peace Bro ✌️
