thanks for including the power washing material and method, as well as the masking off and equipment to use and the setup. I've got to paint the exterior of of my new mobile home and so happy to see that it is a quicker task because I don't have tons of time to waste before moving in. Gratitude, my friend!
for a guy who IS NOT a painter despite having very nice Graco spray equipment ( and TWO gun extensions) ... I know you're not a painter cause you had to look up what spray width a 515 tip is .... you sure are damn good. and it looked like you had a below avg brush yet your cut line was perfect. Congrats ... excellent work. something tells me you're very good at many handyman jobs
As a painter I love spraying and I do like super paint but on a metal building you would want to use Sherwin Williams DTM or direct to metal paint. Just remember the higher the sheen the better the durability however, can be harder to spray.
Spray is the only way to go! It looks awesome! You may not be old enough to remember a time before cordless tools but we used to use nails all the time to build things. Nails weren't always round either if you can believe that?
I used that pressure washer recently and it is a nice option for homeowners. The only annoying thing is the delayed pressure build. Takes a few seconds after you pull the trigger to turn on and build pressure. Most good sprayers are instant on.
Needed to turn up the pressure a touch. That will stop those lines on the edge. A good way to tell you are at the correct pressure is to go too low like you had it then turn up until those edge lines dissappear. Nice transformation though. Great job.
For your power washer, take the intake tube off the reservoir, add an extension and drop that hose in whatever solution you want to clean with. Then when you want clean water take the hose out of the container it's in and presto you have clean water
Great video. I also have roof line metal trim to paint, so good to see Super Paint is a product that can be applied to that. Think Super Paint will also do well on unpainted brick?
Most amazing results. 🥳 Is one coat enough on an old building? Next how to find people to do this great work? 😎 Thanks. Also, where can I find painters to make murals on an old 105 year old red barn?
Yeah, I just bought one. It's the Graco Ultra or the TC Pro if you buy it from the big box stores. The kit comes with 2 20v DeWalt batteries and a charger.
@@KyleVeatch Thanks a bunch, Kyle. It's awesome to have people with experience and kindness in the comments since Tyler can't always get around to reading every comment.
Bought a green works mower/blower combo with 2-batteries about 3 years ago. Never worked right. Under powered and battery life was terrible. Just used mower to trim and blower for quick cleanup. Dumped this year for new gas replacements. Never make that mistake again.
Great job and good advice! One question: What's the reason you didn't paint the wooden service yard right next to the garage door in the same scheme? It now looks a little out of place. :-)
Looks great just wondering why you didnt paint the small roof side gutter the dark color like the rest of the gutters. I am getting ready to paint my house with a graco magnum x7 will be my first time to spray.
I just bought my first home its a fixer-upper. Pretty much everything needs to be painted, interior walls, and kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Would you recommend the Graco ProX17 sprayer for these jobs too?
Guess what? I been installing doors for decades. It's not uncommon to use all types of finish nails during the installation. Exteriors doors do normally get some screws for security purposes but they can also get nails to quickly secure the door in place.
Great video. Thanks. I'm planning to do this to an old store front in NYC. Should I sand off old paint? Can I use the same paint for the wooden panels? I appreciate any info!
I'm willing to bet the soap isn't actually dispensed when nozzles other than the soap nozzle are used. At least that how every pressure washer I've ever used works.
it looked like you weren't spraying enough per pass or weren't using enough passes before moving. was that a thing or just the video not capturing the detail enough?
Not trying to narc or be the glasses emoji but shouldn't you wear PPE when working with the sprayer? Did you use any with the wire brush? Cheers man just want you to stay safe. thanks for the video I want to know what to expect at my new job.
$300-$500 is way less than I paid somebody to paint my house 5 years so. I'm definitely doing it myself next time and using a sprayer. Thanks for the great tips!
my graco x19 model was 535 +tax. but i can spray as much as i want with that cost. although the accessories add up: roller, tips, extension, cleaner, hoses, strainers, etc.
Overall and end result is good, for a DYI not bad, caulking skills need assistance and direction and some of the prep work could stand a bit of improvement but an overall good deal, If I had to rate the whole project from start to finish on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give you a 6.99 not that anyone was asking lol. Thanks for sharing, it looks a lot better and that was the whole purpose.
For that steel building I would have recommended multi surface acrylic or waterbased alkyd urethane by Sherwin Williams for better adhesion. Looks good now they all match!
Kevin Masterson shercryl hpa would be a good choice too. Procryl when in doubt, but both msa and wb alk urethane bite hard and have great color and gloss retention, as you already know. 👍
@@kmasterson7755 had a friend said his paint didn't peel because he brushed it on 25 years ago. his friends didn't and theirs peeled. are current paints better and can be sprayed on metal without being brushed on?

Thank you Bruce for the advice. Using DTM paint from SW tomorrow on my metal building. Power washed with TSP!
Question if i use DTM do i need to prime first or not ?
@@diegopacheco5433 just give it two coats or they sell DTM primer at Sherwin-Williams as well. Either way works fine

I love it "spray or don't even do it at all" - Amen, Reverend! Great video, thank you.
Depends on what your painting metal def got to spray

Thanks! I did mess around with that....am guessing my tip has seen better days, have put a lot of gallons through it now.
@@DIYTyler oh yeah that will do it as well. You probably know more and are better at it than I am! I'm only just getting into airless painting.
Looks great! Well done brother.
we bought a green works pressure washer and wow did it surprise me with the pressure it had! i believe ours is the 2000psi. love it!
No drop cloths and I love your Toysrus paint brush.
Killer job you nailed it. Results speak for themselves. Nicely done.

I’m about to do this to my pole barn. Using all of your suggestions!
Nice! To this day it has been one of the best returns in investment projects!👍🏻
SW Super paint is great stuff. My whole house is done with it. My metal shop is done with SW DTM industrial.
I have the same airless...really makes the job easy and fast. And no need to thin the latex paint.
You need more air pressure or thinner paint then i got these stripes between - (10:56)
Great job and tutorial. Thanks!
Good to see you Tylor great job on the building.
I have a greenworks chainsaw and a blower, both are excellent tools. Don't sleep on this brand! Their 80V stuff is awesome and relatively affordable.

Spray finish or don't do it!
Looks great. Can a metal roof be painted? Is there over spray using this sprayer? Thank you
Thank you for this video. I am looking to repaint our shed and this video was so helpful!
Question... Do you have to thin the paint or does it come ready to spray? Thanks.
Great job! & it does makes me happy inside🤗👍
Sprayers are fun for sure.
Your a legend, thank you for the info.
Great job!! But that Super paint won't gonna last on metal.
What was the coverage per gal spraying? How has it held up?
One piece of information you may find useful when painting start with lightest colour and work through to darkest.
I'm gonna have to look into that battery powered sprayer. It impressed me. You can use DeWalt 20v batteries in it?

Thank you Very Helpful for a project I have t get to!!
What type of paint did you use?! Do I need to use an special primer?
Good Job Man. I was impressed.
you can do alot with a 14 inch roller and a pan on some ceilings
Nice i have a similar project coming up thanks for the tips
It's been a while since I'm watched one of his videos, and it's like an infomercial.
Good job though for DYI
Paint the body first then tape and mask the wall before the trim so gravity is on your side. 😉😉😉

I second that.
Great video Tyler. Thanks for the lesson. Looks fantastic.
Awesome video mate, cheers!
Great vid... Should have sprayed that wood section infront of that shed as well ;)
You were talking about peeling up the tape after.... but what about between coats? Did you do multiple coats of tan, or was it just a single coat?
That’s what I was wondering too
Nice job! How is it holding up so far?
Water will corrode the pump components over time. Shoukd either drain it completely or store it with some storage fluid
I wonder if you could’ve gotten a smaller wire wheel
Lovely!!
My implement this shed building program best best best !!!
What's is acrylic latex? What is the difference between acrylic latex vs 100% acrylic paint?
Can you paint a metal warehouse with rollers or brush?

The most correct thing to charge for a barn of that size, how much could it charge without putting material?
9k with material. 5k to 7k for labor

Love Graco .
how many days u take for painting everything
2 hours!
Nice!.thank you.
How board am I that I’m watching a guy paint a building? 😂🤣 That cordless sprayer is sick though.
No way to shut off the soap sounds like a huge oversight on their part. Seems like it'd be easy enough to put a shutoff valve somewhere.

Sorry i laughed at your calking skills.Great job thanks for the tips
Try doing body first then mask trim easier to mask walls than it’s to mask ceilings
