Simagic Haptic Reactor A Game Changer for Sim Racing (iRacing & Haptics)

- With SimHub and Simagic you can get more feedback, more useful than the upgrade to a loadcell brake.
If you want more help or description setting this up, drop a comment and I can’t make a detailed video.
Have had these on my simjacks for about 6 months and it’s been a game changer in immersion and as an amazing tool.
Check out the settings in my second video, the settings in the first video were bugged! And honestly like you said they are a game changer
@@TerriblyRacing ho appena preso questi motori. volevo chiederti se si puo' usare semplicemente simpromanager x settarli. a me interessa abs per freno e tc per accelleratore. oppure devi usare per forza simhub?
grazie
@@lusl77 you can use Simpromanager if you just want to use TC and ABS. Some games don’t output that data and in that case you’re better off using Simhub effects.
But yes you can use just simpromanager
Would haptic motors be beneficial if you race GTP’s/LMP3’s/LMP2’s?
@@louiienation8497 I don’t see why not
fun trick for the poor : you can set the feedback to any audio source, so you can setup an abs sound. Not as efficient, but you get to know when abs kick in.
I am using a big basshaker instead of simagic, work well too and you get all effects in one package, but you need a beefy amp to shake all the rig
It’s not a cheat if anyone can go buy the hardware. It’s a paid advantage. Just like RL motor sports.
reasonable take, but there actually are quite a lot of hardware/motor restrictions in real motorsports.
@@FerousFolly What is that even supposed to mean? I can promise you, I'n a real race car, you feel the traction loss too and this little shaker is the next best thing, if you can't afford a motion rig with traction loss setup.
I am looking forward to your setup video. Thanks for the work you have put in so far.
Coming soon!
I take it that "If you've just got regular brake pedals, this is going to be a little bit trickier for some of you" is British understatement for "Forget it, sucker, it's impossible."
Lots of people have set them up on different pedals it just requires more work.
You’re gonna need to find some 3D printed mounts for your pedals and also purchase the p2000 pedals control box. There’s other videos online for how to use them with other pedals.
Definitely not impossible 👍🏽
Sorry for all the individual comments for the different links. But that’s the amp you want and then choose between either base shaker. Only other thing you need is some speaker wire and some hardware and a few tools (a drill) to mount them to your rig or pedals
All you need for Huesinkvelds is a screw and a washer.
Thanks for the video, Bravo. The devil is in the details. A subsequent video showing the details would be awesome!
Will make one soon about the Simhub install and then how to mess around with the details and set it up properly👍🏽
@@TerriblyRacing Excellent, thanks. Interested to know specifically how you dialed in the Simhub curve (which paramater did you start with), and second how did you get the trace overlay to show while racing.
@@mattmerciez8144 yeah for sure, will explain my best how to adjust the settings, unfortunately getting the trace on screen for you won’t be possible.
I can do it whilst recording but not live on my screen. You shouldn’t want it on screen when driving you should feel the vibration whilst driving.
I use “cheap” Dayton base shakers under my pedal (fanatec CSL load cell) for the same purpose, and have used them for about 5 years now. It was a game changer for me (even on top of a load cell).
Cost me about $50 but that was in about 2017-2018 so don’t know what they cost now. But you just need a couple shakers and a cheap usb amp. Run them through sim hub as well…
I have added to them over the years so now I have a total of 4 on my rig… and contrary to most advice I don’t have them set up for “4 corners” so you can feel each individual wheel….
I have 2 set up under my pedals only because one just wasn’t quite enough to really feel the “shakes” through the pedal, but for about $15 (again in about 2018) adding a second one did the trick… these two are set up to do the same thing and just having 2 was more powerful than just a single one. My other two are mounted on my cockpit seat. One of them right under the seat (right under my butt), and the last one is on the back of the seat kind of at my lower back. These two shakers on the seat do a few different things, the one right under my butt I use for traction loss for the rear end of the car (so it kinda gives you that feeling in your butt when the rear end is braking loose), the one on the back of the seat also does this to amplify it. The only extra thing the shaker on the back of my seat does is gives you a slight punch in the back on gear changes. So ya all for under $100 I have 4 base shakers and two usb amps. 2 amps is the key… with sim hub each amp can be its own “channel”, so with two amps one is for the front axle and the other is for the rear axle.
Take a Pic of your configuration
would love the in-depth breakdown of how to set up simhub, I’m super new and have no idea what I’m looking at lmao. I’m sure there’s plenty of guides out there but I really like the way you presented the information in this video. oh and I drive f4 so your experience is very relevant to me
New video coming soon, hopefully it’s as useful as the first video
Def like real racing and life in general. You find every advantage and aid you can to be the fastest. Def not cheating just helps you feel what we practice for. Ive always been good at finding the edge of abs activation in acc and ive always been good at defining that line of lockup in iracing. All thede did for me was allow me to know I was correct and just now helps me not have to think as hard about it which is nice yes and does help.
The F1 games have controller vibration system based on rear and front slip amount (one motor for oversteer, other, more binary, for understeer), and that was already considered borderline cheating, especially in wet conditions. I want to put that system back in BeamNG.
I cant imagine how good that would be for pedals. I guess you could have one on the throttle, and on the brakes for front slip (understeer).
This was really helpful. I knew I needed one of these for braking but didn’t realise it would be so useful for the acceleration.
I was going to buy one of these for braking and I already had a transducer I was going to use for the accelerator pedal. Might test it this way first
Good idea, let me know how you get on
@@TerriblyRacing would love to test it asap but I’ve got a back injury which has stopped me (sim)racing for the past 2yrs. Might finally get back on the track in a few months 🤞
@@tdhitchins fingers crossed for you bud, even if it’s not competitive, just get in the seat and relax, injury permitting 🤞🏽
@@TerriblyRacing cheers mate. You don’t know how much I’ve missed it!! It has got me playing some other games I wouldn’t have had the time for and I’ve enjoyed that tbh, but still……I wanna race
@@tdhitchins Just out of interest, what kind of pedals and seat do you use? I had back pain too. Was using a soft seat with a load cell brake pedal. Every time I pressed the pedal I would push myself far into the seat, which crated pain in my lower back. Couldn't race for more than 20min. As soon as I switched to a solid bucket seat (something with a fiber glass shell), my pain was gone,...and my braking got much better.
Cheers for the vid dude, glad this popped up as a suggestion. Always been curious about the pedal feedback 🍻
Happy to help!
Just like the real world of racing, he/she who spends the most $$$ wins.
It’s not just in racing, in real life too
That's so not true tbh lol some of the fastest racers in sim right now are using 5 to 8nm wheelbases with 300 dollar pedals lol putting in lap times better then any of these youtubers with the best equipment.
@@reviewforthetube6485 100% there’s some super talented drivers out there, just an FYI I’m not a UA-camr really this is my first proper video.

Not true.
Great video mate if i ever finish my rig i will come back to this.
Great stuff, hope you complete it soon!
I like the live graph feedback with commentary.
You can diy as well. It's not as expensive as buying pedals with them built into them and they can be more powerful.
Just note most other pedal reactors aren’t linear shakers and rotate, this is still great feedback but not as ideal as the Simagic Haptics
Not cheating just a sensation or cue. You get cues in sensations in real cars when ABS it kicking in. It’s no more cheating than FFB telling you when you’re losing grip. Feedback like this should just be a standard buy to be more competitive
A follow-up video would be appreciated. What racing cockpit are you using, too? Thanks for the upload. 👍
The cockpit is a Playseat Trophy, quite expensive for what it is but it’s super comfortable and looks great
I'll be getting these in a few months. really nice video. A settings tutorial would be welcomed.
Thanks the feedback dude, settings tutorial is coming very soon!
Super helpful! Thank you. (haven't tried it yet on my own setup. P1000 pedals, SimMagic motor, iRacing and SimHub) I stopped using the SimMagic motor a few months ago because I couldn't get it to stop shaking. I'm sure it was a setting that was wrong in SimHub, but I couldn't figure it out. I did notice that you somehow eliminated the unused SimHub options in your example. I'd like to learn how to do that. (maybe that would solve my issue)
Use my second video/part 2 to set them up, I changed the settings as the first ones were bugged originally 👍🏽
@@TerriblyRacing Thanks! (searching for that part2 video now)
@@mitchlewis535 if you can’t find it go through my channel, any questions join my discord it’s linked in my latest vid
@@TerriblyRacing Thanks
All I'd follow up with on this is that pedals maybe ought to start coming with some sort of feedback as standard, so that games themselves can start supporting it. Flexibility is a good thing, and the pedals are behind the wheels in that regard.
As to the usefulness of it all, well it helps some, sure. Others would argue VR is an advantage, but I'm not sure that pans out in reality. But you can understand why some might think that, with the depth perception.
And yet for all these extras, there's always some ass that will be faster than you using a Dual Shock controller.
Very true😂😂😂

If your on a budget, get an aura interactor vest and stick it undrr pedals and connect to simhub, 20quid with an amp only need audio out on pc

Glad you enjoyed it, use the settings from my second video, part 2
Underrated content, you deserve more subs
Great video! We are waiting for the continuation!
Trying my best to get this done
Sim Hub must be very good with their accessories to make better racing for us. I have just a Thrustmaster TMX wheel controller and their heavy duty pedals - have had this for many years. I don't think this kind of info would help my racing - getting better. I also do not have a racing Rig and shaker motion systems. I just sit in a normal chair. Plus I don't belong to IRacing. and Just do the other STEAM SIM racing games.
So doing this kind of fine tuning of race styles to be competitive would be a mood point for me at this time. You are more on a Pro level of racing than I would ever be to do this kind of tweaking.
But, thanks for the great video and what is available to tweak things should I need to and have the elaborate hardware equipment to do so.
Nice one mate. Getting the p1000 soon so would love another vid. Thanks!
In the making

I dont get exactly what i feel during braking…. For example if i hit the Brakes (Porsche Cup) it rumbles but i dont think that i have wheel locking there… and if i keep the foot on the brakes to force a rear lock up i get no rumbles at all - so i have no clue what exactly i get here if it doesnt rumble like full when the tires are locking before i spin… (using ur settings for Porsche Cup)
Use the settings in the second video, wheels lock can’t activate in iRacing as it’s not supported, the vibration should come in when you’re roughly at the right threshold of braking
@@TerriblyRacing ah ok to if its rumbling i am roughly on the best possible braking force input? So if its stopping rumbling i should put less force of braking in?
@@MINKIHLGTSPORT whilst braking when it vibrates you are roughly at the right point, when the rumble stops you’ve pressed too hard or you’re not braking hard enough
Thank you for this great detailed tutorial, will test
Could you provide the values for the ABS of your generic profile (not the PCup one ;) ) (Pulse duration value) ?
No problem, I believe I use 80ms for the ABS but it really is personal preference
1:00 I'm not sure what you mean here...if you have just regular brake pedals compared to what? What is regular? What is more difficult? Does brand or load cell matter?
I just meant pedals that aren’t Simagic, Simagic pedals have mounts to fit the motors, other pedals might have 3D printed mounts
@@TerriblyRacing so I might just need to print mounts for my Fanatec peddles? What's the cost/benefit of this versus using parts express tactile transducers?
@@zmmmzmmmz these are at least double as expensive I’m pretty sure, but the feedback is really strong and really useful, not hing to notice is these are linear feedback motors as opposed to rotary which is a benefit
Great video keep doing your thing
It is as much of a cheat as using base shakers, a motion rig, a direct drive wheel, load cell pedals, triple screens or even a solid rig for that matter. It's like it is with so many things in sim racing,...you don't have to spend a lot of money to participate, but it certainly helps. That said, I'm going to buy those shakers hehe. A piece of constructive criticism. You may want to turn the volume of your "background" music down a notch or two. cheers mate.

Hey man, thank for the video and i have a question. You have v3pedals and it has already abs vibration module, do you feel good with it or is it not good abs rumble? Do you prefer haptic, is it not enought to use original v3's own abs vibration module?
@@gokhankatp hi mate, sorry never had fanatec v3s so can’t comment, I do know these Simagic haptics are a big step though
@@TerriblyRacing hmm okey, thanks mate 👍🏻
Been doing this with front and rear buttkickers for years.
It’s good stuff isn’t it, love Simhub
ABS is bad so you should probably care for it, and the lack of TC is not why the Porche Cup car is more difficult to drive.
Great vid!
Question: is the haptic feedback dynamic? In other words, is the vibration 100% or 0%? Or, do they vibrate a little when traction is barely breaking, and a lot when you're sliding, etc?
No unfortunately they either vibrate at 100% or nothing, I think it’s because they vibrate at certain frequencies so therefore it makes it impossible to regulate the force so it’s either on or off
Sorry I have to acknowledge my last response is all true however with sim pro manager, the Simagic software, the force can be be modulated, so not sure why it doesn’t feel possible in Simhub, I will follow up
@@TerriblyRacing Appreciate the follow up. I'm likely going to order one for my brake, but just curious if there is granularity to the feedback.
@@steelereignreinstalled SimHub today, there is granularity, you can customise how strong the feedback is and varying stages and strengths.

Thanks for the video mate. I love that there's a graph showing brake lock and grip loss. Would Sim Hub work for Assetto Corsa Competitizione and Dirt Rally 2? I don't play iRacing. I play ACC mostly. And I got pedals nobody has heard of - Steel GT by BJ Sim Racing. And I have no idea if I could mount Simagic's haptics on them.
If you have a 3D printer anyone can mount them.
Simhub also supports most games so should be ok👌
Its not cheating if it gives you actual feeling. Its called a simulator for a reason.
Have you ran across an issue where the brake motor is constantly vibrating not a lot but its noticable.

It’s up live now, if you use the bell and subscribe you’ll get reminders when I post
I have these on order, but I'm curious if it's possible to change the frequency of the vibrations in SimHub? When I got the HF8 I completely skipped installing their software and did everything through SimHub. Can you do the same with the Simagic Haptics? I saw other videos where the Simagic software allows you to specify certain frequency for each haptic motor.
Yeah you can specify a per motor frequency.
One thing you can’t do is have two effects on the same motor with 2 different frequencies.
So as long as you have different effects on different pedals you can have different frequencies.
Thanks for the video but those settings for F4 are dreadful! Pedals vibrate too much! Did few F4 laps at Zandvoort and pedals were vibrating pretty much the whole time. Smallest steering wheel movement causes haptics to vibrate, even on the straight.
You are correct, I do apologise, I had a simhub problem, I’ve released a second video with updated settings, Part 2 video is out now
I reinstalled simhub because i had a bug, latest video has corrected settinsg
Thats cool. Something that make it more easy so the Driver make less differences. Cool one day we Race on a straight Line and everybody can feel Like a worldchamp. Its really hard to see that gamers promote Systems that are Bad for the Game.

Yeah you need to have PC to use Simhub, Simagic software natively supports most games but only for TC and ABS not these effects that SimHub calculates
I am struggling to figure out how this is considered cheating when all they do is replicate the type of feed back a driver would get from a real car. Yes it gives you an advantage but so does a load cell.
It’s like racing on a wheel with force feedback when no one else has it.
Obviously everyone else has ffb because the game gives it to everyone however, this feedback comes from simhub and it’s so useful. I wouldn’t call it down right cheating however I do believe I have an advantage

In a real car you would feel the rear end sliding out but instead of spending £10,000 on a motion rig I can feel the slip through my pedal instead.
Don’t get too pressed it’s just a video 😉
@@TerriblyRacing Not getting pressed, but how do you feel flip through haptic feedback in your foot before you feel it in a DD wheel? As soon as a car begins to rotate you'll feel the wheel go loose
@@eclipse245 on a lot of cars the wheel going loose is not enough, the haptic motors really helped me get a better feel of the car and I’ve gone up a bunch of irating since setting these up.
Also the more sideways the stronger the vibration so I get a better idea of the slip angle
The fuck is he using gloves for?
When you race several hours each day with 25nm of torque it can start to rip the skin off
@@TerriblyRacing got it, thx
Had the haptics on my P1000 pedals for about an hour. They're insanely overrated. I feel everything I need in my hands.
I’m sorry my friend you’re using the wrong settings.
I wouldn’t be making this video and buying a second one if they didn’t help me go faster,
Try out the settings from my latest video Part 2
Figures
Stop with the clickbaits please. Im using the simucube active pedals and I still run the same lap times. Ive had the rumble motors before. They wont do anything for you. 8k ir driver here. The fast guys wont bother with this. Insted of focusing on this crap just learn to understand driving. Just my 2 cents. I see you are a 2k driver and 1.5k on sportscar. If you think this will make you a better driver. You are wrong. No offence
Sorry my friend I think you’ll find that you are wrong.
If you are already quick in a sim, these might not help much, but for people struggling to jump into sim racing these haptics provide amazing feedback… WHEN SETUP CORRECTLY.
They can have lots of useless effects but when those are tuned correctly it feels amazing.
It has helped me massively going from 1.3k Irating to 2.5k, I only started in December 23.
Don’t hate them till you try them…
@@TerriblyRacing I think you missed my comment where I said that I have had the vibration motors before. What you are doing now I have tested three years ago.
On my simucube active pedals now i can access those effects through the simucube software. Nothing is a cheatcode. Only the ABS feeling can be somewhat helpful. Knowing how to brake and knowing how to set up your pedals properly is much more important than spending so much time on simhub.
@@erind_racing of course it’s important, but you’re not reading what I’m saying, go try the settings from my latest video, the feedback is super useful.
I don’t make money from UA-cam I’m sharing this content because I love the feedback and I want others to know what they’re missing.
You may have active pedals but you don’t have my brain, try them and get back to me. They may not make you faster as you’re already very quick but I promise these provide insightful feedback you didn’t know you were missing, thank you for the support 🙏
Really stupid and click bait thumbnail mate..... WHY would haptics be illegal or what ever you were implicating....
@@cor_racing I love mine and they’ve given me a competitive advantage so to me it feels a bit like cheating. Title also says how is this not cheating. Thumbnails need to be interesting to garner attention it’s just how UA-cam works make, sorry if you didn’t like the information in the video
@@TerriblyRacing oh no no, I like your video and info provided! What I hate is click bait and misleading thumbnails!
Come on, there are no ffb on the pedals of real cars.
Already wasted my time - who doesn’t know this?
I’ve seen no video talking about the settings for traction loss and wheels lock, just generic videos that don’t give any good details
Same, it was only to get the effect of the Simucube active pedal with spending the money, but the way this was explained really shows you the benefit of having haptics if set correctly. Well done
@@lockonhd8004 thanks I appreciate it, I hope these helped you guys, I’ll make a follow up explaining how to setup Simhub settings yourselves
