      Yeah! That's right I did end it too soon. Realized it right after posting on youtube. Will give a follow up video of using the pull start in the future. :)

    The only video I saw for my problem so far
    My motor doesnt want to start yet and it is very tiring to push the bike up the hill all the time so this pullstart is good to try time and time again until it works

    I understand that this method only works in some frames. I had a carbon bike with the Aston Rider kit and I switched it to a bamboo bike in 10 minutes and I didn't have to cut any cables

    Are these worth it?? Any downside or risk? My engine is running perfect just a little hard to get started given the terrain in my area by pedaling.

    How are your pedal cranks not hitting that pull start case? At 0:00 the first pic of your bike you can see the pedal cranks and they are not going to clear the case and at 1:51? Well have a look.

    • @BuildRestoreRepair
      @BuildRestoreRepair  4 роки тому

      Hi, thank you for the comment! Yes, the crank arm does hit the case, and thats the issue I worked on after installing the pull start. :) I just decided not to include it in this video, because i wanted to do a separate episode for it. :)

      Hi! Sorry, I forgot to include the actual starting of the bike. I still have to remove the crank for it to work properly. Will post a video soon!!

  • @brandonkellogg9590
    @brandonkellogg9590 4 роки тому +3

    I don't see the benefit of these. You have to install wide crank arms if you want your pedals to clear. It's so easy to coast down a hill or pedal and drop the clutch. I don't think I'd ever use this.
    I guess it's helpful for when you're working on your bike and want to start it from a standstill, but for the same amount of $ you could install a center mount kickstand which can help you do that

      @@BuildRestoreRepair Hey thanks for replying. Found them on ebay. Yea they are pretty cheap. BUT every single one had a warning about not pulling all the way or too hard or it will break. Got on a motorized bike forum and basically they said the same thing. Didn't last, only works on a warm bike, like that. In fact I did find another youtuber who was pulling over and over and over and no start. It was cold though, could see his breath. So I don't know. Seems I'll stick with hoofing it to start. Was so hoping this was an answer but it doesn't seem like a good one.

      U need the clutch. Other wise when u start the bike it will be instantly in gear.
      Pull the clutch in, start the bike, peddle/get on or whatever, release the clutch and u now have power to the back wheel.
