      Yeah it's a lot more powerful than it seems at first glance.
      I'm still trying to come up with some cool automations to use it with, but at least for now I can at least turn the TV off automatically with other scenes.

    Hi. I have a Sony AG9. I installed this integration. Unfortunately, if I push sources I only see HDMI inputs and no TV channels or other applications.

      Oh, that's a bummer.
      Maybe there's a Custom Component with better integration for that model?

    Great integration and good explanation. Well done.
    Any idea of how can I "listen" to when volume is increased using the remote, so that I can then increase/decrease the volume on my amplifier? eARC functionality in not enabled with optical cables.... This would be an amazing solution

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому +1

      Only thing I can think of is if you had some kind of IR Receiver and used that to "listen" for the specific IR siganl for volume, but hard to say. You might be able to poll the Current setting via the network but I'm not 100% sure

    • @HiveMindAutomation

      Not that I've seen, but I've not done a deep dive just yet. I suspect if it were an AndroidTV you might be able to do something there, but hard to say for certain.

    I'm looking to jump ship from Samsung panels. While there are various integrations and methods of control available, its all a bit flaky and laggy, particularly around power on/power off (the power status reporting to HA is particularly bad - such that I have ended up deploying external power monitoring to tell if the panel is on or off) and responsiveness when changing source just after power up is terrible and unreliable.
    Your video makes the Sony Bravia integration look really good, for example you power off, then powered on, then changed source in a rapid succession - you can not do this with a Samsung panel, can you confirm you haven't edited it to look better than it is?!

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      Can Confirm, The demo of the HA Integration was Real-Time.
      There MIGHT have been 1 or 2 spots where i coughed/sneezed/forgot what I was saying and cut it for brevity's sake but the responsiveness is awesome on the Sony.

      Might be worth calling the `DpadCenter` remote key. It'll likely depend on what your source is though.

    Hi! Very useful video, thank you!
    I’d just like to check if my configuration in HA was done correctly for my Sony Bravia TV. It all went through well, but I ended up with two cards on the dashboard: the first one has all the main features has shown on the video, while the second one seems to be linked to the DLNA service and it will only show for example the information of the UA-cam video being reproduced on the TV.
    In those instances when the second card is active and showing the title, length and other controls available for the video being played, the main card will only show the text “Smart TV”. The name of the first/main card is the same as the Bravia TV model, while the name of the second card is derived from the one assigned to my TV a few years ago when I was using the Sony app/skill for the Alexa integration.
    Is there a way to only have one card for my Sony Bravia that will also show the information of the videos being played in the respective apps (I.e. UA-cam) and not just the text Smart TV? Thank you!

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  Рік тому

      That sounds weird - like there's 2 integrations picking up the TV. Might be worth checking your integrations to see if there's multiple things pointing to the TV. DLNA is normally a seperate integration from the Sony Bravia one.

    How do I get the IP of the TV? I don't have access to login to my router either

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      On the TV, use the remote to go to Settings, then Network and Internet, scroll through til you find the IP Address.
      Alternatively, You can use a tool like LanScan on macOS or Fing on mobile to scan your network, you'll need to do some detective work from there.

    I want it to automatically change the TV volume at a set time. How can I do this?

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      if you set your automation to trigger at the set time, you'd call the "remote.send_commands" service, and tell it to press "VolumeDown"
      Unfortunately I don't think there's currently a method to set it to a desired level

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      oh, and you'd repeat the press a few times in the automation

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      Depends on the Application, As demonstrated you can "press" the Netflix button in the remote using the UI, so you could do the same in an automation.
      Might be worth checking out the Integration Documentation to see if what you are trying to do is available:
      www.home-assistant.io/integrations/braviatv/

      @@HiveMindAutomation so, in the meantime I figured out. What I was looking for was a revelation that any application is actually a "Source". All I needed to do was to check in the Dashboard what "Sources" are exported and then simply call the "media_player.select_source" service and as a argument pass the "Source" name. Thank you anyway.

    Hi there
    Sorry for the basic question, but how do I integrate the IR commands into an automation?such as
    Num2
    Num3
    Num4
    | Num5
    | Num6

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому +1

      You'll want to use the "Call Service" and "remote.send_command" service, you can then define a list of commands to send in sequence.
      you'll need to refer to the documentation to ensure you're sending the right command strings to the API.

    Hi There
    Many thanks for all your great videos.
    Need some help please.
    I am trying to build an automation that when I press the ikea 5 button power button, the tv turns on, and goes to a particular TV chanel .
    I am using the remote send commands.
    Problem is, when the automation runs, the tv turns on to the last chanel viewed, not the one I want ( ABC channel 074)
    How do I incorporate the selected channel in my automation?
    Many thanks

    • @HiveMindAutomation
      @HiveMindAutomation  2 роки тому

      I assume you've checked out the documentation at www.home-assistant.io/integrations/braviatv/
      You should be able to string multiple commands together in the remote.send_command action, seperated by a comma.
      It might be worth putting a "Delay" action in your automation for half a second, then inserting a second remote.send_command action to select your TV channel

    • @HiveMindAutomation

      HmmI don't have anntenna setup and sending the commands don't do much
      Try sending Num0, Num7, Num6
      if that doesn't work, you might want to try "Tv" and/or "TenKey" commands before the num keys.

    I found when integrating my 2020 Bravia Smart TV, the TV would randomly "reboot" - sometimes multiple times in a few minutes - other times the TV is unaffected for days at a time
    I removed the integration, reboots stopped, accidentally added the integration again, and the reboots started up
    So, there's something very wrong with the Bravia HA integration
