Our hopes for Spyro 4 finally be announced is getting closer and closer than we thought...
They had me worried for a second, I almost teared up when seeing that misleading article that said Toys For Bob was shutting down completely. I’ve been following them since Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure back in 2011 and I’ve been a huge fan of their work with Crash and Spyro holding out hope for Spyro 4 which is 6 years in the making. I am so relieved they won’t be entirely closed down and I still have hope for a bright future for our favorite Purple Dragon and Orange Bandicoot. They still have a lot of fight left in them and I want so many more games from them!

Better yet CTR 2 or Crash 5. I don’t care if crash has more new games than Spyro. That’s irrelevant. If I say, I can’t wait for another god of war and someone says, but we haven’t gotten a new halo yet. I will just say so? That’s not related or connected lol Choose a game that at the same studio. If I’m excited for a new uncharted, and someone says, but we got an uncharted already and haven’t gotten a new last of us, they aren’t related. Even if they were, I don’t care if we got 1 million crash bandicoot games if I’d rather play crash bandicoot it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if we get 1 million spiral games and no crash bandicoot game if you’d rather play Spyro it would be stupid to say you want to crash bandicoot game just because we haven’t had one, but you’d rather play Spyro. That being said, I am incredibly excited for a Spyro
I mean it IS the actual Year of the Dragon and we already missed the Spyro 25th anniversary date.

Always thought that Ripto was from the forgotten worlds. On the Wiki it says Gulp and Crush are from Molten Crater but i don't know how much of that is accurate

As long as there's a light for Toys For Bob n Spyro getting a fourth sequel, then im glad. Its still upsetting Toys For Bob still have to face this issue but I hope there will still go strong in the future and hope there's no more terrible layoffs in the future
I’m really happy that Toys For Bob is not shutting down completely. Because they’re a small team, they had to temporarily work at home until they find a small building for them to work on future projects. I hoping that Toys For Bob will find anyone to join their team and help work on future projects.
If we can get a Spyro 4 reveal before my 30th birthday ( which is June 6th ) I might be able to finally sleep peacefully.

Hopefully with Toys for Bob being remote now it will be easier to get new staff if needed, unless they do end up relocating to a new office.
Here’s hoping that things start to brighten up and the darkness begins to fade away.
I just hope they're in a decent enough position to give me that proper Banjo Kazooie remaster I've been begging for.
After Crash and Spryro, I know they're the perfect team to handle a project like that.

The laws in California state that laid off employees are to be given 60 days advanced notice of said layoffs. Something to keep in mind.
Good to hear there's some silver lining. Downsizing sucks but it's good that going remote was *their* wish and not something forced on them.
I really do hope that my initial hunch that Microsoft really will allow Toys For Bob to function independently and make what they want is right and that Toys For Bob doesn't have to get stuck on Call of Duty. They are so much more passionate and talented than being forced to work on a series they may want nothing to do with

Even though toys for bob isn’t sitting down, it still sucks that people lost their jobs. It isn’t okay regardless whether we want Spyro 4 or not, I genuinely hope the former employees can find work somewhere else, still just a shitty situation overall.

Given all the recent turmoil, the fact that the word "Microsoft" is used and not "Xbox" is reassuring for Crash fans but it also conveys the parent company being much more interventionist in their games division now.

I'm really happy to hear this!
Any game they were working on will be severely pushed back and delayed during the move. Things like this can add years to development time of games while developers take time to move and adjust. Sadly more often than not, when a developer moves to work from home, games gets cancelled due to a sheer ambition or other factors. But we'll see.
My inner child needs Spyro 4 to exist at some point.

This is some great news to hear, especially after CGE's little journalist digging although based on what he heard through the grapevine that Microsoft hugely respects Toys For Bob and their craft, basically treating TFB like an Ace up their Sleeve or something.
It does seem likely based on this speculation and how confident CGE is that TFB will continue in full force this time, working on Crash Team Rumble support and among whatever they are cooking including a Possible Spyro 4, which could be mainly developed by Beenox, but I guess we'll wait and see.

By going remote, hopefully this means they can make new crash games that don't have weird bullcrap.

So glad crash and Spyro isn't gone. there might be a chance for a spyro 4, and who knows, maybe they might hired them to make a banjo Kazooie game or a Conker game.
The situation was feeling pretty hopeless there for a while, as far as getting new Spyro games. So glad to know things AREN’T QUITE as bad as we thought. Now the question I have is, how are they going to keep upcoming projects under wraps with everyone doing their own thing from home?
Toys For Bob choosing to go Remote is a W for them.
If they were forced to go remote then that'd be a different story.
The only downside to this is that they can't just walk up to each others work stations and show what they are working on with each other, but thankfully share screen is a thing.

TfB are only one studio. I hope that maybe a second studio emerges making games in franchises like this. The main reason why is this: between the activision ip, and the old rareware ip, there is too much for one studio to keep all these IP alive. Even two studios would struggle to juggle crash, spyro, banjo, viva pinata, and others.

I would say they will continue Crash Team Rumble (cause I want that game so bad & please let it be on Nintendo Switch), and I hope they will start create Spyro 4 soon (so we’ll have to be patient). Toys for Bob is the best studio. 👏🏽✨

Guys we’ve known this, Microsoft had both Crash and Spyro in their official announcement video for the merger. No way they’d immediately ditch them.

Well, I'm glad that Toys for Bob will continue on despite the office shutting down and working remote from home. And hope we'll get some more Crash and Spyro, cause those are too popular with everyone including myself. I grew up with these to franchises for years as long as I had been alive.

We need an Epic mickey style hub area. I'm so tired of seeing the same hubs in spyro games. Remember when movie tie-in games had big open worlds like the curse of the were rabbit? you could hit people, and they would react to said action telling you to go away. in both EM games you can talk to the toons in main street

Skylanders spyro and crash are safe
No way wait I used to live on the base where the hangars were located! Often walked my dogs along the pathway right outback their offices. I remember hearing a games studio worked out of it but I never knew it was Toys for Bob!! The devs of my absolute favorite games growing up (esp 102 dalmatians), wow!! I wish I knew that sooner, would have sent them a letter when I was a kiddo. Hope they're doing well despite the layoffs and going remote and things start picking up for them.

So some of the staff that were fired were people only because they had a physical office like guards etc, also some of the staff that were fired were potentially there just for COD which could mean they're being moved off of COD and onto something else. I've always thought that we will get a Spyro 4 and based off this further info I'm still confident that it's on it's way
I know it's never going to happen, but....I wish there was a Madagascar remake....Toys for Bob Madagascar game was my childhood, and the best childhood game I've played
Based on what Jez said, stuff you've said and the fact that Blizzards team 4 (I think) is now a team that works on everything Blizzard makes, I see that Toys for Bob was most likely cut down to 50 so they can work on their games and not have people working in COD. Of course, that's just speculation.

There may be evidence to the point Microsoft made that the layoffs were "inevitable", but I'm not really convinced by any of that stuff. I suspect they might just have made statements to look good in front of the FTC and the players
ABK history, without Microsoft, has shown us that layoffs do in fact happen after massive success in sales within the studios and their games.

But if the layoffs happened because people were hired for specific project and basically let go once those project were indeed complete, I wonder what project Dev Madan was hired for and why he was laid off so soon

So i didn't buy Crash Team Rumble on release, saw it on discount so was considering buying it. However all this news about the layoffs has made me hesitant to do so, since idk if the servers will stay online and if the game will receive more support.
While Sly Cooper still stuck in a cage come on sony get your act together.
Imagine a Sly Cooper game by Toys for Bob though. I can definitely see them pulling it off
TFB is a weird feeling. They have heart and passion and did amazing on the remasters. But can they keep that feel for a new game? 343 was close with Halo 4 but missed a lot with 5 and Infinite. Infinite was a nice attempt though.

I hope Activision Publishing learns a valuable lesson that Having All Studios to Work on Call of Duty and Bank on it after the pandemic was a major flop to begin with.
Im glad toys for bob didnt suffer the same fate as vicarious visions(still pissed about that) im okay with yhe downsize and everything going forward and lets hope everyone that was affected can find jobs regardless wether it was activision or some other thing but this is still great news nonetheless

Personally, if TFB has to choose between continuing support for CTRumble or doing Spyro 4, I hope they just cut their losses with CTRumble and get all hands on deck for Spyro 4.
The Spyro fanbase has been more than patient with ABK and TFB, but we can't survive off cameos forever and that patience needs to be rewarded sooner rather than later. Fans were already mad when the Spyro season of CTRumble didn't lead into a Spyro 4 announcement. Imagine how pissed people would be if it was found out that Spyro 4 was in development, but it was shelved for the sake of Crash's 4th consecutive game.
I've personally held off from buying Crash Team Rumble because I'm not an online gamer. My only wish is that there'll be update for an offline mode: single player and co-op.
I think it still sounds pretty bad. By scaling down to 50, they lose over 1/3rd of their employees. And working remotely exclusively is going to make it extremely hard to develop games. While they might still exist, I'd say it's just a matter of time before they'll be closed down. The remaining employees might get dispersed to other studios, but it's very likely that Toys for Bob is on its way out.
Own Spyro ip then later almost never made new Spyro franchise series after Legend
Working remotely gets a bad reputation. It’s actually great and you don’t have to be stuck in traffic hating your life, no co workers at the studio distracting you. Congrats toys for Bob!

woah woah woah. Where does the footage from 1:22 come from? I don't recall that level design from any of the original games. And I've played both the PS1 and the Reignited trilogies many times over.
