- So, a source approached me saying that Activision was making a huge investment into Canada. After speaking with this person; I believe its significantly possible that Toys for Bob and Beenox MAYBE teaming up to develop and support future Crash Bandicoot and Spyro titles; Like Crash Team Rumble, Spyro 4, and yes, Crash Bandicoot 5.

I hope Microsoft lets Toys for Bob work on the new Spyro and Crash, since they now own the studio and Ips too.
This is most likely the case for both beenox & toys 4 bob! They also have some remakes in the making and remasters from old Activision games!
Beenox absolutely killed it when making 2019 CTR’s year of service. Lots of good memories with that game.

Hopefully, this means beenox has already been working on Spyro 4 ever since CTR shut down in 2020
The epic mickey remake switched developers it was originally going to be handled by Playmagic but after the disastrous launch of the Xlll remake they switched development teams but that's just my theory and nothing more then a rumour. My guess is that spyro 4s development was shifted to a different studio because of what was happening with TSFB it might be beenox developing it since toys are obviously busy with other projects doubt that it's a skylanders re-release like a collection maybe a new banjo I doubt that they would touch conker maybe a bit too mature for them? though saying that we need more attitude centric games that are like conker in tone with that type of humour

I would actually hope not. Spyro deserves his own new game. He doesn't need Crash to support him. And I say that as someone who actually prefers Crash over Spyro. A crossover game in the future might be cool, but I really would prefer Sypro having his standalone platformer game.

@@MichaelHill-sg8ks Personally, I think if they want to put out a Crash and Spyro team-up BEFORE making a new Spyro game, it would be to get MORE players onto both bandwagons so that they know it'll be a success before the next releases. Both successes would mean more games for both franchises.

This makes sense given Toys For Bob and Beenox have worked together in the past and have done well doing so. So them tag teaming to get projects done sounds quite a realistic theory that might be happening right now given all the evidence and I'm looking forward to it, either Beenox be cooking Spyro 4 and/or continuing support on Crash Team Rumble I'm down for whatever these two can make in the end. I wouldn't mind seeing more Tony Hawk that would make me happy on top of seeing Spyro 4 and Crash 5.

I always thought that Beenox was working on the new Spyro game since T4B was taking forever. Nonetheless, I hope this team up is good news for Spyro & Crash.

I do want Banjo back, but I just REALLY want Spyro 4 first.
But it would be awesome if every year there was a rotation.. New Crash 1 year, new Spyro the next year, new Banjo the next year, repeat indefinitely.
My selfish Spyro fan brain would rather just have a new Spyro game every year 🤣 but I know that realistically that will never happen and the other games deserve time to shine.
@@cookiesontoast9981it usually takes a couple years for TFB to get a game out, and I can't imagine why they wouldn't just focus on Crash and Spyro under these circumstances.

Something I learned from my sociology teacher today is that companies layoff employees in the tech industry so they can be 'hired' as contract workers. That, in part, is done to cut costs with benefits, at least in the U.S. Moving to Canada makes a lot of sense from what you're talking about with tax credits and California being expensive. As a game developer on the East coast of the U.S., I wanted to move to California but not with those prices. D.C. seems to be a growing market for gamedev. I don't want to go to Canada I think, that's moving countries and a lot would be involved in that. Anyhow, all interesting information. Thanks for the video!
Hmmm, you know,... the Canada Walmart Twitter has tweeted an extensive amount about Crash & Spyro. It honestly all makes a lot of sense, I don't see why not being the case with the massive Canada expansion! 👀👍

I say it makes a lot of sense. This gives me hope in seeing more Crash and Spyro games from Toys for Bob and Beenox in the future. Spyro 4, Crash Bandicoot 5 and maybe a Crash and Spyro crossover game like Crash Purple and Spyro Orange.

I do wish Toys for Bob were still open though. I would love to help them out with whatever projects they’re working on, even if it means they’re able to get another employee to work with them.

Because of layoffs I know some of the laws because of a person who hase been in a mass one before don't rehire an exact job and cheaper within a short period of time, like a year. They could get sued for that.

I have had a theory for a while that xbox might scrap Vicarious visions and Beenox, and reorg them into one cod support studio (given they have cod devs) and effectively TfB team 2. However that was unaware of the employee cound situation. Still, i can see beenox being split up into more target audience specific studios as it expands

Guess there really is a sliver lining. Two studios that love this orange marsupial and the purple dragon. Even bringing us a very enjoyable kart racer with a roster only one can dream of. Honestly I could see this happening

Crash and Spyro are both great franchise. I really hope we could have a game inspire by the GBA titles ( Spyro orange and Crash purple )
Honestly would love to say I care anymore but after the cashcow of CTR and Crash Team Rumble I don't think I'm bothered any more. WOuld be great to see something other than Crash come out and have a Spyro game that isn't bogged under loot boxes and pay walls but not holding my breath, especially when it comes to Activision.
I think it makes sense. Though, I wish Activision had not laid off those ~35 Toys for Bob employees without giving them option to move to Canada. It's likely almost all of them wouldn't have been willing to move to Canada, but it would've been nice.
If we get another crossover, I hope it isn't like the one from 20 years ago. I mean those were passible games and certainly better than the Mario & Sonic Olympic ones, but going the "Mario Party" route wasn't the best idea to approach a crossover. Maybe if it was more in line with Battletoads and Double Dragon.

I just really really want one more of those to make it a trilogy, then I'd like either remakes of the originals or just a new rebooted 3d platformer game. Then I'd be happy. At least Banjo has had TONS of really great rom hack fan games for many years now. A bunch of original Banjo content for fans to enjoy.
Meanwhile Spyro has taken a MUCH longer time to get any fan projects off the ground, even having amazing looking ones taken down completely.
Though yes, as far as official games Spyro has had more and a remake. But honestly I'd trade most of those games for full rom hack fan games like Banjo has ANY day.
As excited as I am for these new games, I can't help but feel fear that Microsoft will make them exclusives which will cause lots of issues.

Beenox did a great job with CTR, gameplay and graphics were great and not to mention characters and dlc. I hope they help improve the quality because spyro trilogy was good but crash 4 wasn’t the one, felt off as a crash game
