      Jiffy mixers are very useful in this case.

    We have a torch down modified bitumen granulated flat roof. It's about 6 years old and has lost a lot of granules, so more and more of the black rubber is getting exposed. Once we have cleaned all loose granules and debris from the roof and cleaned it, can this product be applied to our modified bitumen granulated flat roof? And will the application of this coat, slow down granular loss?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  3 місяці тому

      Yes, you can apply this product (Karnak 97 Aluminum coating) to your mod bit roof. It will slow down the granular loss when applied. A better solution would be to apply our 220 Fibered Emulsion first before the coating. This will end up with a longer lasting, better result.

    I'd like to use this in a mural I'm painting. If I used a clear coat anti-graffiti coating, would it adhere okay? Also, would it dull the shine on the Karnak?

      Interesting! We have not yet seen this application. We recommend you try it first on a small inconspicuous section of the wall as a test area. We'd love to hear your results.

    What do you recommend for a low pitch metal old metal roof on my house. Upper MI so we get -30. Will this help snow slide off better too? Thanks.

      Our 404 and 501 system would work fine as long as the slope is over 2/12. This means, for every 12 inches the roof moves horizontally, it goes down at least 2 inches.

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  10 місяців тому

      It's a great option as an aluminum reflective coating! But a better performing one would be our 298 Alumin-R.

    What about an A-frame do i stand on a good ladder and rolls the roof because im sure not gonna go up a aluminum roof and slide off and hurt myself or worse, also should i dips the roller instead of pouring the sealed on an A-frame roof and rolling it out as im painting a wall, because standing on a good fiberglass ladder and rolling the sealed on should do the trick because it's much safety that way also i have a extension rolling that can reach way over the lips of the A-frame to the other side of the roof top and once i get one side finish can just start from the other side, i think that's better than getting on top of a A-frame roof also much safety

    which karnak aluminum roof coating is best which there are several 97,169,298,27,28

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  2 роки тому

      Our 298 is the most premium, as it contains a rubber blend that allow for the product to expand and contract as the building/roof shifts due to settle and temperature changes. The other products are good and just as reflective, but do not contain the rubber.

  • @klau121
    @klau121 6 років тому +1

    Which is better? The 97 or 298? Also how often should either be reapplied?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  3 роки тому

      298 is our premium rubberized aluminum product. You would reapply anywhere between 7 to 10 years, depending on surface conditions.

    What applications would non-fibered aluminum coating be better? What is the advantage of fiberated coating?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  3 роки тому

      Non-fibered aluminum coatings work well over metal roofs and roofs that have been previously coated with an aluminum coating. Fibered will be stronger and more resistant for longer, but will cost more for the material.

    Can this be thinned to be used in a spray rig?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  Рік тому +1

      We would not recommend thinning the product at all as that would push it out of the approved specifications. We do have a sprayable version of some of our other reflective coatings, like our Silicone 670HS coating.

    Whats the reflectance %?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  9 років тому +2

      Initially, it is 63%, and after 3 years' weathering, it is 55%. If you are looking for an aluminum coating with higher reflectivity, check out our 298 Alumin-R (ua-cam.com/video/S7EJlw_ql_Q/v-deo.html). For even higher reflectivity (in the 80-90%), we have acrylic white coatings (listed as 501 and 501). Hope this helps! Feel free to call our Technical Dept at 800.526.4236 for more information.

    i have minor leaks in the roof will it seal those areas? also should i polycloth on the seams?

    • @KARNAKroofcoatings
      @KARNAKroofcoatings  9 років тому +3

      jeffery Leroy Hi Jeffrey. Thank you for the question. Roof Coatings do NOT repair leaks. You have to use our Mastics such as Karnak 19 Ultra, Karnak 19, Karna-Flex WB, or Karna-Flex to perform repairs. And yes please polyester cloth or mesh is a good idea as it will reinforce the mastic repair prior to the application of the roof coating.
