I love when their talking heads gets on the cameras and acts appalled that something like this could ever happen in his department. I'm positive in the past this same department has stacked made up charges on some innocent person because they feel they didn't get the respect " they deserve" or feel the person "got one over on them". They're caught lying on the stand all the time yet somehow the same cop ends up back on duty or in another court room to testify. Once in a blue moon they "sacrifice" one of their own but most of the time they get to resign and keep the pension.or get paid suspension which last time I checked was called vacation.
America has always had a dirty cop problem. Additionally, many are woefully ignorant of the law and are not legally required to know it. With the proliferation of recording, it’s just now exposing the extent of the problem.
The most over zealous obnoxious cops I have dealt with were women. They always seem to overcompensate because they are trying to prove themselves or something.
Even when a chief or sheriff does the right thing, the union comes along and tries to destroy any newly built trust held by the community. There are way too many lifelines for terrible cops.
