I like the idea that what we feel in the face is the result of changes we make further back. Way it's always seemed to me.

You've helped me so much! I haven't sang in over ten years, but your videos and program have made a HUGE difference. I have twenty days until my musical audition. I can't believe the progress I've made! I know I'll be ready. Thank you!

Hi Victoria. I got to perform "You Raise Me Up" for my cousin's wedding on Saturday. I suffer from massive stage fright, so I had to take a xanax. I have sung multiple times live but I never overcome the butterflies in the stomach. I have seen your videos on stage fright. Someone sent me the recording of my performance. It sounded like a different person. I did fumbled a word or two of the song but it wasn't too obvious. I could have projected better as well as having better resonance, but overall people congratulated me more than I expected. Nerves did affect the voice. When I am alone in the house, my voice soars, but I actually do not specifically like the sound of my own voice when I hear it recorded. I know you recommend recording oneself. I do not do that :) Update, I received a better footage and feel better when I heard it :-)

Thanks for all the videos Victoria ❤ I tried to do the "forward placement" at the past, aim to project my voice better. What it did is actually opposite, it makes the voice so nasal and narrowed the throat.

Absolutely! I’m glad you realized it before it became too bad of a habit!

I find in my busking set of 18 songs that certain songs call for a bit more fwd resonance John Denver's Country Road's for instance always comes in a bit flat unless I really focus on a light twang. It's very subtle though.

Thank you, Victoria, for so much vocal information you share in your videos! Could you, please, give me some advice on one specific issue. I am a tall man in my forties. I'm not too large, but also not slim for sure) And I have funnel-shaped chest. And my lungs are kind of compressed or squeezed by the structure of my chest anatomy. Which type of breathing could you recommend me for singing: belly breath, rib cage breath or the combination of both?

I have a question and i really need someones advice because we dont have vocal coaches where i live.
But.. as someone who suffers from dysphonia and anxiety (almost like a fear fo singing on doing something wront to the point i tense up a bit even when consciously breathing probably caused by a lot of criticism by my singing teacher in school and from my family), and i had a vocal injury a bit over a year ago. And im really afraid of hurting my voice again and i overthink every step but nothing feels right to the point i break down cryint because i might just as well give up on that one thint that kept me going. What would you recommend i do or start with? Besides warm ups and therapy because i do those. But im really really struggling right now because i dont know where to take my voice from here, what exercises to do and stuff..

A question. Pavarotti once said he was afraid of high notes, what sane man was not. Jan Peerce said if you had to worry about the notes you shouldn't be singing the part. What do you think about the very top of a classical singer's range? For most, it's the top that goes with age. Or so it seems.

How do you make louder sound without pushing too much air? I feel I’m straining my voice trying to make the sound louder and using too much air but if i don’t pump out that much air the sound gets softer.

Anytime I try forward placement it either works or it doesn't. It's never consistent, I kinda do a hybrid of a lifted high palate and a touch of nasality around B4. But I'm a big fan of Stevie Wonder and he's SO forward and his voice has stayed intact. How does he get away with it?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  4 місяці тому +2

It all depends on the sound you want. Forward placement is fine if that’s the goal. I just find that fixating on it is very limiting and does get some singers in trouble.

@@Victoria-Victorious I fully agree. I kinda am leaning towards a Steve Perry placement

Do you consider your voice too bright, too dark, or balanced?

Can you record urself recording a theatretic song?

I’ll have to think about that. I do demonstrate a more speech-like quality for comparison is some of my videos.

Hi. A few of your videos have definitely helped to unlock my voice. Wish I had lessons from you as a teen.
Anyway, I think this has been a Google Algorithm Bubble issue.
The "whining" comes from 7 years of the world going on about me being ill 24/7. This would be an easier way to explain to people that have not went through, what I have went through.
    People do not get it.
    Anyway
    Take care
