RA is taking the fall. There's no evidence of anything. I think the original suspect and some prison guards or cops are all tied in. I think that the victims were taken somewhere else and returned after the crime. There were many involved in this, and they are doing some really dark stuff. They are sacrificing virgins. It was a spontaneous cellphone video, taken by a terrified 14 year old girl facing a stalker who was about to abduct and murder her and her friend. It wasn't a big budget Hollywood movie, with a top editor! You seem to forget Libby German was filming her killer while having to hide her phone from him, especially as he got closer. She managed to hide that phone from Richard Allen so successfully, he never knew it existed, and left it behind at the crime scene - it would ultimately identify him. Libby was incredibly brave to record that video in such a desperate moment. She gave the police the most amazing evidence - moving images and audio of the killer. Yet Indiana Police still couldn't identify killer Richard Allen for 5 long years - despite the fact Libby's video forced him to come out of the shadows, and tell authorities he was 'Bridge Guy' before someone else did! If the Keystone Cops had only identified and charged Allen within two weeks of the homicides as they should have done, no one would doubt his guilt. All the female witnesses confirmed there was only one male suspect there at the Monon Trails that day - and Allen admitted it was him! But because law enforcement made so many wrong turns and dumb mistakes under the inexperienced and incompetent Supt Doug Carter, conspiracy theories have thrived. Allen's defence team will exploit police errors to the max. I only hope the flawed police investigation doesn't scupper justice for Libby and Abby.
Agreed, the inexperienced and egotistical Supt Doug Carter ran a disastrous murder investigation, marked by many major mistakes and wrong turns. He and his team were way out of their depth. The incompetence of Indiana Police let the highly dangerous killer walk free for five long years. Thanks to the Keystone Cops, it's entirely possible Richard Allen may get away with this double homicide (of course he did it - he came forward right from the start and said he was 'Bridge Guy', but police ignored him). The ridiculously secretive police investigation, and their umpteen mess ups, have allowed public doubt and conspiracy theories to thrive. Once this murder trial is over, whatever the verdict, Doug Carter and Indiana Police must be held fully and publicly accountable!
The prosecution has said in the past this was a multiple person crime and more arrests were pending. Now, they allege it was one sole guy and no need for the jury to see the sketches. Ya, also don’t allow the jury to know a man confessed to his family he did this along with others. Nothing to see here.

If I were the defense I would definitely ask "so, what led you to believe that more than one person was responsible for this crime, even after the arrest of Richard Allen? Please explain in detail the rationale behind your theory that more than one person was involved".
The Anthony shots account was catfishing young girls and or boys. The fat slob they arrested first had connections to other pedos and molesters. Two of the teen witnesses that day described seeing "a man dressed in black boots, black shirt, black jeans, black jacket with a black hoody pulled up under his hat and a black mask pulled up over his mouth and nose." She remembered the man as ‘muscular’ about 5ft 10 and in his 20s or 30s and conceded that her memory may have been altered by seeing the subsequent picture of ‘Bridge Guy.’ Breann Wilber was next. She was with Voorhies that day. She too described seeing a youthful, muscular, tall man dressed in black, before saying the moment she saw the picture of Bridge Guy she knew that was who she had seen. Betsy Blair's description of the man was also ‘youthful’ with ‘fluffy brown hair and in his 20s or 30s. These descriptions are even showed by the two vastly different sketches that were put out by law enforcement. Furthermore, if I was the criminal who had just committed a brutal double murder with a knife, the last thing I would do is go to authorities and identify myself as being at the crime scene that day and seeing the victims like Allen did.
You need to listen to the jury questions and the witness responses. Then it won’t seem so far fetched. Check out yesterday’s Hidden True Crime for that info. I’m a police officer and I have conducted homicide investigations- it’s not unusual for these things to happen in quick passerby situations. Especially young people.

@dengarr33 that may be true, but the way they've banned ANY sort of recording device, and the way they're handling who gets to be in the courtroom is extreme. Every single reporter I've seen regardless of opinion or employer has commented about the injustice and shadiness of how she's handling this case. The more she denies the more fuel it adds to the discrepancy of a fair trial. I'm not 100% convinced either way of his guilt or Innocence, but I am convinced he is being denied a fair trial for sure.
I like this host Julia better than Vinnie or Julie. She doesn’t make the story about herself, and she professionally relays the facts without dramatized indignation or exaggerated changes in intonation like the other hosts. CourtTV should give her a show for those of us who appreciate a focus on analysis and a delivery using a natural tone of voice.

Sure, bridge guy does look like Richard Allen. In the United States, all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. When they put Richard Allen into a maximum security prison situation and he was basically treated as if he was guilty without a trial, the State damaged their position terribly in regards to those confessions.

I never knew either of these young ladies but I still feel so proud of them and feel deep sadness that no one will ever know what they would have accomplished in life. It seems clear that Libby fought for her life and the life of her best friend. Gosh I have much respect for her. She must have really been someone to know. I'm so glad they had each other as long as they did and lived such joyful lives while they graced this earth. May they rest in eternal peace, may their families and friends find comfort and peace in their hearts, and may justice ultimately prevail. ❤
I'm feeling strongly that they have the wrong guy which is tragic in every way. Not only is the real killer still at large with apparently no leads, no justice in sight for Libby and Abby, no peace in sight for the community, but also a possible innocent man who's life and soul has already been utterly destroyed forever.
Richard Allen came forward to the authorities right from the start and confessed to being 'Bridge Guy', ie the man in Libby's videos. He confirmed he was there at the crime scene/on the Monon Bridge at the exact same date and time as the murders, and wearing the same clothes. No other man was seen there that day by any of the witnesses - not one! It could only have been Richard Allen who stalked, abducted and murdered those two children.

The other witnesses described RA. Look up witness accounts of sketches, they’re not completely reliable. Could you describe a random person you walked by once or twice not knowing they were about to commit a crime? Most people can’t.

And a suspect who places himself at the murder scene wearing what the killer was filmed wearing, and interacting with 3 witnesses who also say they saw him. The round is not nearly as strong evidence as this.
He put himself there in the timeframe of murders. And described to a t that he was wearing same clothes as we see in the bg video(before said video was released). He was seen there by witnesses too. He has the same build as the video. Oh, and he confessed. I suspect in a couple first confessions there will be details only killer knew. Further confessions were just mambojumbo ordered by the lawyers to apear nuts.

Yeah I have soooo many questions. It’s fair to say that all of these witnesses who claim to have seen Richard on or near the bridge were likely locals, who might very well recognize Richard. Knowing that-it’s very hard to believe Richard would then proceed w/the murders…unless he’s of extreme low IQ, OR couldn’t care less about being caught. Then there’s the video!! To me, it shows a man walking at leisure, looking down, minding his own business. Doesn’t look like he’s addressing them at all, so I just don’t get it!! And IF he KNEW they’d recorded a little bit of him-I would think he would’ve tried to delete the video (if possible)-and if NOT possible-then I would’ve thrown both their phones in the river!….Right? In 2019, law enforcement held a press conference where they claimed they found and cleared the man in the video and were now seeking a younger man seen by BB. So at some point they considered that the man in the video was not the abductor.

They also noted a man sitting in his car for a long time. And a panhandler who had been bothering people in the morning. Then there was a sex offender who rode his bike through the trails. Then you have around a dozen men living in homes off the trails, like the Mears men and Ron Logan. You had Brad Holder who was temporarily staying with Logan. You had the group of teens that were looking for the cave. You have various men who were camping out the night before, one of whom committed a rape that night and was arrested two days later. You also had several workers, like the cemetery groundskeeper and two electrical workers. Then the entire trail sat next to a truck rest area, where numerous truckers would catch a nap on their way transporting goods across the country. There was no shortage of men that we know of in that area, and the number we don't know of could just as many

Plenty of trials don’t allow filming. People seem to think it’s their right to see trials. They were done for hundreds of years without the whole world watching. The Quinton Simon case the judge had said no video but changed her mind only a week before it started. A Judge ruling not to broadcast a trial shouldn’t be seen as some kind of coverup!

Something is VERY OFF HERE!!!! At times, I think he’s not the murderer. He did admit to being there and went to the police station.. but was cleared, sent home. Why did LE decide it was RA almost 5 years later? A bullet shell doesn’t equal DNA. Is it possible he thought there was a plan, forced them down the hill… but other perpetrators he was with did something completely different? I cannot come up with one scenario where RA did this but there was zero DNA and zero blood on anything police collected. Whose hair was in Abby’s hand????? He wasn’t cleared. The note documenting the initial contact w RA was misfiled. They never brought him in for an official interview immediately after that, did not fully investigate him and did not clear him and dismiss him as a suspect! It wasn’t until someone started going through to review a bunch of old stuff to see if they missed anything or noticed anything they didn’t before, when they found the note from the initial contact and realized that not only did RA put himself on the trial at the exact time of the murders, but that he hadn’t been officially interviewed and investigated to be cleared or not cleared! That’s when they approached him for their first interview w him, where they found out he owned a firearm & a bunch of other things and the investigation progressed from there.

Something is seriously wrong with this case! I do not think this is the guy! I think he's being sacrificed by the real killers! I think the female judge has something to do with it or knows the real truth. Maybe there is some threats to the family of Richard Allen if he doesn't take the fall for it. I have followed this since the day that they went missing I'm going in with an open mind it is way too soon to draw any conclusions at where will do or say just about anything from either side just to get their side across the hard part for a viewer like me is any information we get is second hand because cameras aren't allowed in the courtroom where we would actually be able to get it firsthand and watch it live
I'm so blown away. I had listened to this case multiple times since it happened and I didn't even know someone had been identified! He looks so much like the person in the video, too. I'm so happy they're finally getting justice. Those poor sweet girls.
I heard Richard Allens voice on a video that was shown awhike back of him and his wife , and the BG's voice and RA's voice sound the same to me. But who knows.

RA is likely the guy. He changed his timeframe of being on the trail when he realized he was under suspicion. He then sought mental healthcare. His vehicle is on surveillance footage in the area during the timeframe of the killing. His early confessions were to his wife and he was acting coherent. Then the tone of his confessions changed after meeting with his lawyers. I also think his wife recognized him as BG, or she at least suspected but couldn’t face it.
Insanity defence maybe. Even though being crazy years later when arrested, doesn’t mean insane at the time the crime was committed. Maybe he is trying to be sent to a mental hospital instead. I do think if I was charged with this horrific crime i would go nuts too.
He confessed several times, then to his wife. It’s after he did this that his lawyers were telling him to start eating poop and paper, and then started making crazy confessions. To use the crazy defense and essentially get all confessions thrown out or look bad.

No one said he was only 5’4 either. He had his phone and supposedly wasn’t even there the time the girls were. No tech evidence of him knowing them or anything like that. Nothing. All of the eye witnesses have said it wasn’t Richard so ya know just blame it on anyone I guess. Not like they haven’t had the photo up at cvs for 7 years. No one has ever walked in and said hey that employee looks like BG.

I want justice for those girls and their families, but I’m not 100% sure about Allen. I’m leaning toward “probably”, but that’s not beyond a reasonable doubt, as I think about it if I was a juror. But, there’s testimony and evidence yet to be show, even though a lot of it has been made public. We’ll see.

DPenalty for Allen. His defense has tried every card to make him look innocent. That man wasn’t looking at no fish on a cold winter day from a height that makes it impossible to see under water. I keep waiting for the "big reveal" that proves his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. If all they have is his presence at the bridge and sketchy bullet marking evidence I'm not buying what they're selling. I think he PROBABLY did it, but probably isn't good enough for a criminal conviction.

It was a spontaneous cellphone video, taken by a terrified 14 year old girl facing a stalker who was about to abduct and murder her and her friend. It wasn't a big budget Hollywood movie, with a top editor!
You seem to forget Libby German was filming her killer while having to hide her phone from him, especially as he got closer. She managed to hide that phone from Richard Allen so successfully, he never knew it existed, and left it behind at the crime scene - it would ultimately identify him.
Libby was incredibly brave to record that video in such a desperate moment. She gave the police the most amazing evidence - moving images and audio of the killer. Yet Indiana Police still couldn't identify killer Richard Allen for 5 long years - despite the fact Libby's video forced him to come out of the shadows, and tell authorities he was 'Bridge Guy' before someone else did!
If the Keystone Cops had only identified and charged Allen within two weeks of the homicides as they should have done, no one would doubt his guilt. All the female witnesses confirmed there was only one male suspect there at the Monon Trails that day - and Allen admitted it was him!
But because law enforcement made so many wrong turns and dumb mistakes under the inexperienced and incompetent Supt Doug Carter, conspiracy theories have thrived. Allen's defence team will exploit police errors to the max. I only hope the flawed police investigation doesn't scupper justice for Libby and Abby.

Thanks to the Keystone Cops, it's entirely possible Richard Allen may get away with this double homicide (of course he did it - he came forward right from the start and said he was 'Bridge Guy', but police ignored him). Two of the teen witnesses that day described seeing "a man dressed in black boots, black shirt, black jeans, black jacket with a black hoody pulled up under his hat and a black mask pulled up over his mouth and nose." She remembered the man as ‘muscular’ about 5ft 10 and in his 20s or 30s and conceded that her memory may have been altered by seeing the subsequent picture of ‘Bridge Guy.’
Breann Wilber was next. She was with Voorhies that day. She too described seeing a youthful, muscular, tall man dressed in black, before saying the moment she saw the picture of Bridge Guy she knew that was who she had seen. Betsy Blair's description of the man was also ‘youthful’ with ‘fluffy brown hair and in his 20s or 30s. These descriptions are even showed by the two vastly different sketches that were put out by law enforcement. Furthermore, if I was the criminal who had just committed a brutal double murder with a knife, the last thing I would do is go to authorities and identify myself as being at the crime scene that day and seeing the victims like Allen did.

I’m a police officer and I have conducted homicide investigations- it’s not unusual for these things to happen in quick passerby situations. Especially young people.

Every single reporter I've seen regardless of opinion or employer has commented about the injustice and shadiness of how she's handling this case. The more she denies the more fuel it adds to the discrepancy of a fair trial. I'm not 100% convinced either way of his guilt or Innocence, but I am convinced he is being denied a fair trial for sure.

When they put Richard Allen into a maximum security prison situation and he was basically treated as if he was guilty without a trial, the State damaged their position terribly in regards to those confessions.

Recently a man confessed to killing his father who was alive. He was awarded a lot of money because the police forced a confession.
I'm feeling strongly that they have the wrong guy which is tragic in every way. Not only is the real killer still at large with apparently no leads, no justice in sight for Libby and Abby, no peace in sight for the community, but also a possible innocent man who's life and soul has already been utterly destroyed forever.

Richard Allen came forward to the authorities right from the start and confessed to being 'Bridge Guy', ie the man in Libby's videos. He confirmed he was there at the crime scene/on the Monon Bridge at the exact same date and time as the murders, and wearing the same clothes.
No other man was seen there that day by any of the witnesses - not one! It could only have been Richard Allen who stalked, abducted and murdered those two children.

In 2019, law enforcement held a press conference where they claimed they found and cleared the man in the video and were now seeking a younger man seen by BB. So at some point they considered that the man in the video was not the abductor.

Then you have around a dozen men living in homes off the trails, like the Mears men and Ron Logan. You had Brad Holder who was temporarily staying with Logan. You had the group of teens that were looking for the cave. You have various men who were camping out the night before, one of whom committed a rape that night and was arrested two days later. You also had several workers, like the cemetery groundskeeper and two electrical workers. Then the entire trail sat next to a truck rest area, where numerous truckers would catch a nap on their way transporting goods across the country. The Quinton Simon case the judge had said no video but changed her mind only a week before it started. A Judge ruling not to broadcast a trial shouldn’t be seen as some kind of coverup!

He wasn’t cleared. The note documenting the initial contact w RA was misfiled. They never brought him in for an official interview immediately after that, did not fully investigate him and did not clear him and dismiss him as a suspect!
It wasn’t until someone started going through to review a bunch of old stuff to see if they missed anything or noticed anything they didn’t before, when they found the note from the initial contact and realized that not only did RA put himself on the trial at the exact time of the murders, but that he hadn’t been officially interviewed and investigated to be cleared or not cleared! That’s when they approached him for their first interview w him, where they found out he owned a firearm & a bunch of other things and the investigation progressed from there.
Also, every case doesn’t have DNA!!
@twinkletoes6290 the FBI investigated the tip situation and said it was not misfiled under the wrong name. Until they can produce the original dated tip in court, how can we know they didn't make up the tip, the times, Allen's clothing, etc from memory years later?

I think the female judge has something to do with it or knows the real truth. Maybe there is some threats to the family of Richard Allen if he doesn't take the fall for it. I have followed this since the day that they went missing I'm going in with an open mind it is way too soon to draw any conclusions at where will do or say just about anything from either side just to get their side across the hard part for a viewer like me is any information we get is second hand because cameras aren't allowed in the courtroom where we would actually be able to get it firsthand and watch it live
I'm so blown away. I had listened to this case multiple times since it happened and I didn't even know someone had been identified! He looks so much like the person in the video, too. I'm so happy they're finally getting justice. Those poor sweet girls.

RA is likely the guy. He changed his timeframe of being on the trail when he realized he was under suspicion. He then sought mental healthcare. His vehicle is on surveillance footage in the area during the timeframe of the killing. His early confessions were to his wife and he was acting coherent. Then the tone of his confessions changed after meeting with his lawyers. I also think his wife recognized him as BG, or she at least suspected but couldn’t face it.
Why would he act crazy so that he could confess ? Why not just.. not act crazy to confess? I don’t see the point.
Insanity defence maybe. Even though being crazy years later when arrested, doesn’t mean insane at the time the crime was committed. Maybe he is trying to be sent to a mental hospital instead. I do think if I was charged with this horrific crime i would go nuts too.
He confessed several times, then to his wife. It’s after he did this that his lawyers were telling him to start eating poop and paper, and then started making crazy confessions. To use the crazy defense and essentially get all confessions thrown out or look bad.

No one said he was only 5’4 either. He had his phone and supposedly wasn’t even there the time the girls were. No tech evidence of him knowing them or anything like that. Nothing. I want justice for those girls and their families, but I’m not 100% sure about Allen. I’m leaning toward “probably”, but that’s not beyond a reasonable doubt, as I think about it if I was a juror. But, there’s testimony and evidence yet to be show, even though a lot of it has been made public.

DPenalty for Allen. His defense has tried every card to make him look innocent. That man wasn’t looking at no fish on a cold winter day from a height that makes it impossible to see under water. He knew the trail and the area. He knew what he was doing, even went to the police unsolicited typical behavior of a person that tries to know if the police has any information that might link him. 15 days later he gets into AA just as the criminal profiler predicted it.
