Yes there’s ticks in Texas. Not as prevalent but I’ve had ticks.. its a huge fear of mine… but also ticks can be the size of needle point that you never know you have and … Lyme… is real

As a pharmacist I have never strayed away from educating the public about risk vs benefit when it comes to vaccines, prescriptions, and over the counter medications. We also educate the public about homeopathic remedies and herbal supplements, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say that there are no “side effects” or consequences to using it or taking too much. That is absolutely incorrect. And just because it is plant based/derived doesn’t mean it’s adverse effect free. Digoxin is a very potent anti arrhythmic prescription drug that is derived from a plant and has a very narrow therapeutic window of efficacy, so too much can stop your heart. That’s just one example of many prescription drugs that are derived from plants.

I think when she says no side effects she’s referring to homeopathy. They are so dilute that few if any of the original substance remains. It is thought to work on an “energetic or vibrational level”. So that would be relatively risk free. Herbs on the other hand like you were saying carry risk because they are powerful

Pharmacist or not ……ur comment is like comparing apples to…..a steak!
Elizabeth was most MOST DEFINITELY speaking about homeopathy. U cannot compare that to pharmaceuticals which can be and usually are toxic to us. Let’s just not compare the Two please. Just because pharmaceuticals are many times derived from plants speaks NOTHING of the side effects of drugs. They have been altered and processed so much that there is almost nothing “plant based” about them anymore. Homeopathy on the other hand is complete opposite of drugs.
U may also want to educate yourself first about what homeopathy really is before u “educate” the public.
      My goodness. The arrogance.
PS I’m a RN. ICU for years.

Privacy - that’s my largest concern in posting anything or starting an at home business. I get a stomach pain when someone pulls in my driveway that I’m not expecting, even if they’re just turning around. 20 years ago I wanted to put a camera outside so people could watch over the wildlife/farm animals/gardens because I find it so peaceful, but the comments from strangers upset me too intensely. God bless you on how well you’re balancing day by day and able to share your information so freely with others! Thank you! 😊

I’m so glad I’m not the only that is veering towards just letting the body heal when it comes to my kids too and not interfering 😅 sometimes you feel like it’s irresponsible but something inside is just saying let it be especially when you’re confident in Gods intelligent creation and it’s ability to heal itself 😌

There is no switch from the pharma, unless you switch your mindset and lifestyle. Thank you for sharing, I love that you talk about such important issues. I absolutely agree about not getting in the way of our organisms. I personally grew up without using antibiotics ever and not breaking fevers. My kids are very healthy and never had any drug in their bodies. And everyone can have that! It maybe scary when you just start, but it's worth it

This was just a great podcast! It's totally up my alley as a certified holistic health coach for Christian moms. I really enjoyed listening and agreed with much! We love homeopathy. I teach a mom's online class for using homeopathy safely in the home if you are interested, Lisa

I grew up in the worst county in the country for ticks. My husband has had Lyme twice and my one son had it once. Early detection is key! I always send every tick that was attached for testing (its free in my state in Pa) because it can tell you in transmission was likely and what infections the tick carried. Always put the tick in a Ziploc and in the freezer to kill it. Then mail it for testing! There's lots of different opinions on treatment, but you definitely do not want to leave it untreated! :)
    Great episode!
Also, i wish people didn't use Instagram. I understand the reason for making a living as a content creator, but Instagram the worst for p.rn and grooming.

Lyme disease is a real concern. my daughter got that so it definitely is a thing. also ticks can burrow into the skin, under, the skin and move to the brain so they are not to be taken lightly.

I think when discussing ticks you didn't really consider how much lower the rate of Lyme is in Missouri versus other areas. I've never heard of people in my area (New England) seeing/ having ticks at the rate you're mentioning yet Lyme is way way more frequent here! In 2022 there was only 0.1 case pee 100K people in Missouri versus over 200 per 100,000 in Vermont and Maine!! So yes we see ticks less frequently but it is a big concern here!
