You are right that most problems are fuel related but when exactly when the problems occur are directly related to how urgently you need the tractor and when you have the least amount of time lol
Yep one of the 1st things I learned how to do was clean out a sediment bowl and clean out the gas tanks the 1st tractor I ever did it on was an old 1948 case tractor but I can't remember the model. But we were mostly far more and all of our guys. And you keep up the rhyming I love that period
I like the rhymes. You do you and that’s what sets you apart from the other channels. I actually watch cause I love the old tractors. So regulators mount up and let’s go, let’s grow man! Keep doing what your doing.
I believe the swirly looped di doo in the fuel line is for expansion joint to help prevent the fuel line from breaking. Kinda like a shock absorber from vibration. I used to put curly kues in fuel lines for this very reason. Helps absorbs vibrations.
Excellent video also put new fuel filter also help to also that sediment bowl last long time and get a grey bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection and carb cleaner in too ! Also I do hard steal line from tank to fuel filter to carb also check with the store a fuel filter that has flare lines for intake to outake so hook up to tank to inlet to fuel filter to outlet from filter to carb fitting then be all set and when get new fuel get high quality so last longer plus when used loader Tractor Farmall in Summer don't get vapor lock and in winter season freezing ups too!
If the tank has a problem with rust go to your local parts store and buy a magnet like the ones they use on magnetic warning lights and place on the tank as far from the supply outlet as you can it will hold the fine oxidized rust particles and keep them from going to the carb .
The reason the elbow was there was because the sediment bowl had a pipe thread. The next size larger is too large. We ran into the same problem with our 460 Wheatland. I bought a new sediment bowl for it and it had the pipe thread and didn't work on our tractor for that reason. I'm sure our W-400s the gas line screws right in to the sediment bowl. They should be exactly the same as the Farmall. The 400 series gas tractors had the option of a deeper tank. The fuel line is different on those so make sure you get the right one. Yours has the small tank. Ironically, I tried to buy the same sediment bowl today. Peavey Mart carries them but were out today.
My H has a hardline from sediment bowl to the carburetor. It has curly Q's in it too. I can't begin to count the number of times I've taken everything from sediment bowl to the carburetor off, disassembled it all, cleaned, reassembled, and reinstalled it because of rust in the tank. Somebody needs to make a stainless steel replacement tank for these old farmalls. Some are 80 years old now and the rusting steel tanks are a problem we all deal with. At least sooner or later.
Well I might finally be joining the other red team tomorrow or as you would say the right and only team lmao I found a Farmall M about an hour away from me with a full hydraulic loader with a added pump so no pto pump and it still has one remote to use and it's a factory wide front even power steering! It's a pretty straight tractor runs and drives just been sitting since her husband past away and she doesn't know anything about tractors so she figured it's time to get rid of it. It's extremely straight and pretty clean unfortunately the last time he parked it he left it under a tree so the whole thing is cover in tree gunk and moss from it but I am pretty sure if I take a power washer to it it'll bring back the color pretty decent and from my understanding it's the original paint to so I am hoping I can do a good paint correction/wax job and she might be able to keep her original clothes! It's for my business and will be used for laying mulch grading drive ways, property clean up, scraping, and for the biggest part of my business putting food plots. So it has to look good because you know how people are these days. And I am also going to be ordering a 3pt kit for it so it'll be a fully loaded Farmall M with a everything on it! And you won't believe the price for it the loader isn't welded or broken the rear tires are very good bout 80% left has the typical weather checking but are still usable for years to come nothing rotten yet. The front tires are brand new but they are truck tires so I am going to definitely change them out but I believe I have a set laying around. The asking price is $1150 if I do get it I am not going to best her down at all because it's work that in parts especially with the power steering kit. Oh and btw keep on rhyming obviously that guy doesn't understand these are your videos and you can do what ever the hell you want plus if its so bothersome you obviously got to keep at it hahaha
Thank you thank you thank you I told my wife and I kept feeling something she told me that I was nuts and I never heard of them before but if you look at the back of an off can it says no-see-um bugs
When you add the new sediment bowl run your fuel line up to the tank about an inch into the tank. That way the dirt won't settle where the fuel drains into the bowl.
From my experience with 45 years of tractors not starting baring sub zero temps is dead battery dirty or wet fuel are the just wore out junk and I've made do with alot of those just getting by in life
Awesome video, I agree with "a Lot" of other's keep up the rhymes! Oh, I was asked if you actually "flushed" the tank? My dad was telling me The H got flushed once every couple years, due to the dusty conditions. , Oh, he also said do to us kids not being careful when we filled the tank!
I actually had my 400 catch fire on me when I (stupidly) didnt disconect the battery whiles changing the starter and the hot cable fell onto the steel fuel line and welded itself to it then burnt thru, creating what was basically a flamethrower being fed by 25 gallons of gas. I suffered 2nd degree burns to shut off the gas but that is what saved the whole tractor from burning up and it burned itself out in about 45 seconds, still lost a lot of very nice original paint and all the wiring and hydraulic hoses, but it was back to work the next day. Now both me and the tractor wear scars as a reminder to not mix electrity and gas.
My combine has almost the exact same sediment bowl every year at least twice I have to take that thing apart and clean that mesh filter in the top of the Bowl. Messy job not one I look forward to but a necessity.
Also person complaining about rhymes & should be happy hear it a lot better swearing words or cursing words too and so won't upset some watch videos with there kids and plus not get banned from make videos on UA-cam forever! Love hearing rhymes and funny stories plus nice clean jokes too!
I pretty sure the Farmall 400 is based off a M which means you could use some of the M body parts for it so that’s probably why the emblem is not going on
Have you thought of taking off the whole tank flushing it out and repainting the bottom of it we did take the tank out of our w-6 and flush it out and let it dry out then blow air through it
I had the same problem lol, I actually picked up a used emblem off a 400 thinking it would fit the 300...WRONG!....but I made it work by snapping one of the pegs off the back and it holds relatively well
Not sure why this person needed a new chinese sedi.filter.I usually just remove old one for cleaning and put it back on,being sure to reinstall inside tank small filter and clean tank with spraygun cleaner with clean diesel in it and hose to some kind of bucket.Sometimes put some ptfe on threads but mostly not as filter is mostly conic.Thank you for vid.
