Precious, precious days, Henry. This sentence is coming from an 83 yr old great-grandma who watched our son and grandson work on their "gray and red". Again, thanks for the memories, Henry and Pete. May God Bless and Keep you all.
Remember, Henry. What do we do to strangers on the internet? That's right. We ignore them. Great job helping dear old dad out. He's a great man and a fantastic teacher. I have great admiration for your dad.
16:03 Henry's clapping takes me back to working in the garage with my dad on the family cars and having silent little celebrations that something worked. My ever-stoic Dad never much noticed or joined in but it was fun being his cheerleading, light-holding apprentice!
Pete and Henry it was good seeing you both working together. Those extra hands that are learning are also very helpful. It still amazes me that people like you and I Pete can set timing by listening and watching the engine running for the timing to be set today's stuff nope. Thank you Ed
My dad was an auto and diesel mechanic. When he was growing up in Brooklyn he knew a deaf man who could adjust the engine by placing his hand on the fender. He knew from the vibrations if it was running smoothly or not
Henry seems like a good kid...one day he will remember working with dad on old tractors as a fond memory. I remember working with my dad on old tractors , trucks & whatever needed fixing on the farm... By the time I took shop in high school , it was a breeze . My shop teacher allowed me to take on big jobs like rebuilding engines , welding , ect .. My dad was a hydraulic expert & I could read prints & trouble shoot at a young age.. That skill got me my first real job & it was all because my dad loved to teach & I loved learning about mechanical things..
"Have you heard any good jokes recently, Henry?" to which Henry replies "Not from you" 2:15 - priceless interaction! Thank you for that, Pete and Henry! That put a big smile on my face as it was perfect timing and facial expressions on both of you! Also great that you put in the new distributor and it starts more reliably. The machine is probably getting a better spark at startup and that helps. It seems that the magneto ignition is not as strong a spark for that initial startup... 👍
Well played Henry, "Not from you." Then dead-pan walk away. That's how you make the ol' man laugh. Would that little tractor be a good choice for running the sickle-bar cutter for reaching beneath the fences for keeping those groomed? That could become a good Henry job to get used to the feel of a tractor. That's great that he's taking an interest in that little ol' girl.
My father has been gone almost 15 years. I think back to the 1970s when he taught me to use a moldboard plow, or do maintenance on the equipment, sometimes some choice words putting mounted cultivators on. It was invaluable. He was a good teacher. Pete seems like a good teacher. No matter what Henry does in his life, he'll always remember working with and learning from dad.
It's good that Henry has an interest in Mechanics.... I started at his age at a Gulf Gas Station behind our house. The owner, Joe Maider had a Wrecker, he raced Stock Cars he could teach anyone anything they wanted to know. My dad didn't like me spending all my time down there... but there was 4 vehicles in our Family and I got to take care of them all in the 60's.... Later I went Automotive School in Rhode Island...! =)
Nothing as sweet as watching a loving father as he teaches his son. The real high point was the look on Henry's face when that old girl fired up. Priceless.
Treasure your time with your parents Henry. Just as your dad said, time flies by and then they're gone. Learn as much as you can while they are here. By learning what I could from my parents, I find myself not missing them as much. I miss being able to talk with them though I don't really miss them because I, in a sense, am them. I have even found myself telling dad jokes, lol
At the start of this video I wanted to make some jokey comment, but this was just too "feel good" to tamper with. Magic moment when she fires up! To Henry, Great job! None of us are born with knowledge and every mountain is overcome one step at a time. Dang. Too much to say on this one. I've had to edit. Great stuff.
Glad to see Henry getting involved in the tractor repair. Not only spending time with your dad which is priceless but learning how to help your dad as he ages.
I rebuilt several VW engines in my high school days, alongside my father. I do value the time though my remberance was of dad never saying a word. Never much conversation between us. Really great to see a father and son in communication. Soothes my soul.
You gotta make sure you get that pointer around... 🤣 I love that you're able to do these things with your children. I sure miss those days with my dad. Great video!
2:20 - Atta boy Henry!!!! It is good to help your Dad, some day he won't be there (hopefully a long time away) and you will treasure these times, he is/can/will teach you stuff schools would be totally unable to do and many, many times that third (or fourth) hand is a God send! The man has a rare trait for today, common sense, learn that also. It is also good to bust his chops, often if possible. I am an old man, 81 now, and still treasure my memories, even copying him walking 70 or more years ago.
I love seeing all of those Farmalls lined up in your barn. I started using a Farmall H on the farm when I was about Henry's age. I remember my dad teaching me to work on things the way you and Henry work together. it brings back good memories of my dad who has been gone almost twenty years now. Treasure the time with Henry, he will be grown and out on his own in the blink of an eye.
Although he won’t fully appreciate it for another 25 years, the teaching moment you just shared, will live with him and be a memory between a father and son that he will always be able to recall, and be ready to eagerly share with his children, or anyone willing to listen!
Nice day in the shop, Good to see Henry joining the learning of Farmall Tractors. He did well helping and shows good aptitude in working more complex issues, Keep it up Henry.
Now that Henry knows how to start and run the Super A it will get more use. Even if it is just joy riding out in the fields, try to think of it as home school Driver's Ed. Good to see you two wrenching together, I fondly look back on those days when I come home from school and Dad from the mill just to go out into the backyard to try to bring some recalcitrant hunk of junk he got in trade back to working order. He never had much spending money, but I think he had a sense of achievement when he fixed equipment others gave up on.
That's right about the Driver's Ed comment. I learned how to shift gears with a clutch on a old Farmall A with the offset steering shaft. Even though I didn't learn how to shift up or down while moving due to lack of syncros, I was able to master the clutch and shifter enough to make my transition to a car as seamless as possible.
When I was a kid, I recall helping my grandfather in his garage. One of the tasks I remember is using a special spark plug cleaner to freshen the plugs. You inserted the spark end into a rubber opening and stepped on a pedal that would be like a sandblaster to clean the plug.
Henry, I started as a very skinny, long-legged, 12-year-old girl on one of those. That's how I learned to drive! Days like this one, Henry, will be your private memories when you reach 75! I can still see and hear myself plowing the garden and hauling stuff on that old tractor. Granted in the late '50s in Ohio it was a John Deere, but it was the same. I also chased cows and bulls on that little tractor. LOL Yes, those days were good ones. Thanks for sharing Pete. PS: You did say that one cow was Patti's offspring once. So, Patti's in the barn!
Well that's another good lesson for Henry, he sure will take a lot of fond memories with him from this, I know I did with my dad during those types of lessons. I think this is a nice time of year to take care of these types of tasks. I enjoy seeing Henry and you work together, brings back a lot of fond memories of dad and I. Thanks Pete, have a nice day!
Pete enjoy how you take things slowly to make sure it is done right. You teaching your son reminds me how I teach mine. My son Nathan Henry will soon be 14 in March. Teaching them is important, just like my dad taught me. You telling him about watching out so he doesn’t poke the screw driver in his hand. That was so true because we probably poked ourselves a few times. Thank you for sharing. Blessings🙂
Muito legal ver os dois juntos, criando memórias, laços e experiências. Que bom se ele tomasse gosto pelo serviço. Nota-se sua falta de habilidade com ferramentas..😂 Abraços do Brasil! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
It sure is nice seeing you guys working together. My dad isn’t into mechanics. But I still go out in the garage and fiddle around. Glad you two have fun doing projects!
You might not think washing and cleaning the tractor is uninteresting ... but for some viewers invested in your project, there's nothing more refreshing than seeing the tractor cleaned. Maybe it's my OCD. :) It doesn't have to be long, but a couple minutes seeing the tractor go from dirty to clean would be the cherry on top. Just a thought. No biggie. More importantly, it's great to see you pass down your wisdom, knowledge, passion to your son.
I love Henry’s reaction when the super A started, classic. A future tractor engineer in the making, or something like that anyway. Great episode thanks.
Son helping Dad together to fix the old Tractor. A farmers life on the old homestead sharing the most precious things together. College come pretty quick but the things learned here are priceless.
Usually the first thing that happens when I take the bottom cover off the bell housing of my 140 is I have to clean out mice nests, acorns ect. I'm convinced this is where the Holy Grail will one day be found. I love those off set Farmalls and grew up using a Cub and 140s. I can't get over how much Henry has grown. Have a great weekend Mr. Pete!
Thanks Pete! Always fun watching a father and son working together and my son loves to help me all the time at 7 years old. That’s why I bought a basket case cub cadet for us to work on in the near future together
Pete: ".....Heard any good jokes, Henry?" H: "Not from you." Hilarious! What a truly wonderful blessing having a son (at home, too!) is. Tho at times they keep us 'umble....
Hi Pete thanks for updating us with the tractor, yes thanks too Henny for helping you , good too teach him about tractor fixing up , we keep watching any thing you put up Pete ,it's your farm and what you do on it and put on the clip is up too you mate
In these modren times when kids spend so much time indoors and on computers and playing games it is fantastic to see Henry helping and showing interest in something useful and practical
Hi Pete! Ken here from Nova Scotia. I’m kinda having a little chuckle to myself here. When I was Henry age I swore I would not ever like my dad. Dad jokes and just coming up with things to make my kids laugh. I’ll say something now and am like, oh my gosh, there it is. Guess really it’s not so bad. My dad lives in me the same as I live in what my boys say and do. Life’s circle. It’s great you and Henry are doing that project together.
Great day with your son! He is growing up and time together now is so important. He is funny when you talk about jokes. Eyes roll. When you see this tractor next to the restored models, Aw come on Pete, next winter you need a project. When are you going to start the new pig area? You give us all excitement when you talk of improvement and it will be easier for you to handle with all the activity. No matter what you do, I will be there cheering you on. Enjoy your channel!
Like to see you working with Henry and passing along the tradition like your dad did.... The birds I'm hearing in the video are English sparrows not swallows.
Ohhh Pete ! What a joy for me watching you and your precious son...Henry ...a fine young man ! It's always a jolly holiday with Henry in it ! Goshhhh we missed your videos while our cable has been out for so long from the ice storm back in Feb...Great dad ! Great son ! 🤗
A great little tractor. My first tractor, when I was 9 years old, I learned to drive and learn the standard transmission. We used this for raking hay, cultivating corn in the summer and my grandfather used it for his garden. We have a single bottom plow for this also. I am the same way about parting with this tractor, it doesn't get as much use anymore.
Hi Henry It is wonderful to see you with your son. He looks happy to be with you and spending time with u My dad never wanted to be with me he was a mean drunk he died and it was to late u keep making good memories with your son it is real good to see . He will always love you and respect you and no one can take the good times with you away.
So nice to watch! Brought back so many golden memories for me when I was very young and would hand my Dad wrenches and things as he needed them while working on snowmobiles, cars, motorcycles. I never would have guessed that Henry was only 14! Times does fly. Thanks for a great video.
I absolutely love it when u have Henry helping! He’s so mature for a 14 yr old! Also glad u told u what kind of birds were n the barn. Noisy things for sure! Ty for your videos and may u continue to b blessed!
I'm glad to see Henry working on electrical and mechanical things. I'm a retired engineer and I can tell you I much prefer to work with another engineer who has practical hands-on experience growing up. My parents both grew up on farms and I helped my dad repair and fix things from a fairly early age. I helped reshingle the house, put in a septic tank drain field, drill a well, and added grounded electrical circuits to the house. I also learned to repair tube era radios and TVs. All the experience Henry gets working on this stuff is valuable.
Sir, that was so nice of you to say. I agree 100 % . I hope they rebuild their old truck for Henry to drive when it's time. Pete is the Jake of all trades. Heartbeat of America. NEAL APOLLO BEACH FLORIDA
Precious, precious days, Henry. This sentence is coming from an 83 yr old great-grandma who watched our son and grandson work on their "gray and red". Again, thanks for the memories, Henry and Pete. May God Bless and Keep you all.
Grey n Red ?? Asking from the UK Thanks Mary
Henry got jokes..not from u🤣🤣🤣
@@timwilkinson2797 Ford 8N from the 1950’s best of times!
Good to see Henry learning and making memories with dad. Memories that last his life time.
I believe he will continue to be a successful generation of farmers with that wonderful farm.
Excelente comentário!
Memórias maravilhosas e que vai lembrar com saudosismo um dia.
Remember, Henry. What do we do to strangers on the internet? That's right. We ignore them. Great job helping dear old dad out. He's a great man and a fantastic teacher. I have great admiration for your dad.
And there's the dad joke. A tad cerebral but that's what daddy's like to do. It can't be faked.😱
The way Henry's father completed the work on the farm made me admire.
16:03 Henry's clapping takes me back to working in the garage with my dad on the family cars and having silent little celebrations that something worked. My ever-stoic Dad never much noticed or joined in but it was fun being his cheerleading, light-holding apprentice!
Nicely said and a sentiment which others can surely share! 👍
I promise you- he noticed ❤
Pete and Henry it was good seeing you both working together. Those extra hands that are learning are also very helpful. It still amazes me that people like you and I Pete can set timing by listening and watching the engine running for the timing to be set today's stuff nope. Thank you Ed
My dad was an auto and diesel mechanic. When he was growing up in Brooklyn he knew a deaf man who could adjust the engine by placing his hand on the fender. He knew from the vibrations if it was running smoothly or not
Glad Henry is getting involved. It’s nice seeing young adults helping and learning.
Would you like to have a life on this farm?
Henry seems like a good kid...one day he will remember working with dad on old tractors as a fond memory.
I remember working with my dad on old tractors , trucks & whatever needed fixing on the farm...
By the time I took shop in high school , it was a breeze .

Its really nice watching you teach Henry.
Tractors need to be used to stay in good health! Never has a truer statement been made. Thanks Pete!
"Have you heard any good jokes recently, Henry?" to which Henry replies "Not from you" 2:15 - priceless interaction! Thank you for that, Pete and Henry! The machine is probably getting a better spark at startup and that helps. It seems that the magneto ignition is not as strong a spark for that initial startup... 👍
It's such a joy seeing a Dad and his Son getting their hands dirty while wrenching on a machine.
There are 100 million sons out there that never get the experience Henry is getting, gold!
"Not from you"!!! Brutal Henry brutal. 🤣🤣🤣
I think one of the most appealing things about that old equipment is the fact that the average guy can still work on them.
Thanks for the video, Pete.
It's good that Henry has an interest in Mechanics.... I started at his age at a Gulf Gas Station behind our house. The owner, Joe Maider had a Wrecker, he raced Stock Cars he could teach anyone anything they wanted to know. Henery is really a good fit. So much of Dad and Mom there.
I believe that in the near future he will also complete the work on this farm very well.
What a nice young man Henry is glad he is learning from Dad then off to research new jokes 😁
Funny how I could smell the exhaust. Thank you Pete.
Good work guys! Henry was thrilled to see that it works! Yay!
I loved it when Henry applauded after you got the tractor running!!! I agree, great memories here!!
Thank you Henry for joining your dad in these videos, and for putting up with his jokes. Ha!
Make sure to take care of you, so you stay in good health. Thanks
Good morning Pete and Henry. Watching your videos is like visiting friends. Wishing all of you a great weekend. ❤
Henry is awesome. We need to see more of him. Great memories for you both. God bless
The expression on Henry’s face when you were first starting the tractor was priceless he’s a good kid soon to be a first class young man
Great to see Henry working on the tractor with you Pete, seems like a really good young man. Keep them coming from 2 cylinder popping johnny.
Henry understands your humor.😄
Nothing as sweet as watching a loving father as he teaches his son. The real high point was the look on Henry's face when that old girl fired up. Priceless.

To Henry, Great job! None of us are born with knowledge and every mountain is overcome one step at a time.
Dang. Too much to say on this one. I've had to edit. Great stuff.
I like that you have henry helping you and learning how to work with his hands.he will look back with fond memories of the time working with you.
Never get tired of you calmly and meticulously tearing down and rebuilding you tractors. And a good dad joke, have a great weekend!!
It’s great that you’re passing along all your great knowledge to your son!
Those are generations of great farmers, they make America beautiful.
Good morning Pete. Sounds like the birds are happy too. Enjoy a glorious weekend buddy. You’re living the good life, just like my family.
You gotta make sure you get that pointer around... 🤣 I love that you're able to do these things with your children. I sure miss those days with my dad. Great video!
Henry is a lucky guy. Pete is a lucky guy.
And we're lucky to share in that luck! 👍
Love seeing Henry apprenticing! It helps me learn.
It warms my heart to see you and Henry working together 💗
Would be neat to see a lineup of all that Red Power! Thank you for sharing! Your videos are always good !
So many boys would like to have a father like Henry has.
Thankyou, Pete, for training your son.
Good job Henry helping dad. Good to break in your Carhartt too!
Henery is very observant. He is a rock star!!
Always enjoy your Videos!
When I was a kid, I recall helping my grandfather in his garage. One of the tasks I remember is using a special spark plug cleaner to freshen the plugs. You inserted the spark end into a rubber opening and stepped on a pedal that would be like a sandblaster to clean the plug.

As always it is good to see father and son working together! Henry, what makes your dad's jokes so good is that they are so bad!
I love the look on Henrys face when the A fires up the first time
Passing your knowledge on to Henry in a hands-on session is ideal.
2:18 😳🤣 Nice father and son passing of the torch. Knowledge that is. You guys are blessed to have each other Pete. Love your videos. Thank you.
It’s absolutely fantastic watching father teaching the son life skills. Love it. I so enjoy your family and your videos Thank you
Pete enjoy how you take things slowly to make sure it is done right. You teaching your son reminds me how I teach mine. My son Nathan Henry will soon be 14 in March. Que bom se ele tomasse gosto pelo serviço.
Nota-se sua falta de habilidade com ferramentas..😂
Abraços do Brasil!

Loved Henry’s excitement when it finally started up!!
Good evening, I enjoy Henry and his father Pete working together on the tractor. I enjoy when my boys work with me Steve from nB
It sure is nice seeing you guys working together. My dad isn’t into mechanics. But I still go out in the garage and fiddle around. Glad you two have fun doing projects!
Nice to see a young man with his pants pulled up and learning life skills! Great job Mom! Good job Pete. 😂😂
Great to see your son taking an interest and helping out. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.

So good to see you and your son working together . Show more of it . 😊
That's a sweet little tractor, Pete. Thanks for posting all of the mechanicking videos. They are very helpful for us tractor newbies.
Hi Pete thanks for updating us with the tractor, yes thanks too Henny for helping you , good too teach him about tractor fixing up , we keep watching any thing you put up Pete ,it's your farm and what you do on it and put on the clip is up too you mate
Boy that is a lot of beautiful red tractors. Farmalls, what a sight!.
Good to see Henry there learning.
When Henry arm's went up I wonder was he thinking "its alive" ? 👍👍👍 first thing I typically yell when the old girls take off chugging
In these modren times when kids spend so much time indoors and on computers and playing games it is fantastic to see Henry helping and showing interest in something useful and practical
Good for you Dad, sharing your wisdom with son. Someday he will be bragging " My Dad taught me that!" Henry is a handsome young man.

Funny how the older ⚙ works for a lot longer than modern technology does..very nice to see the old beauty getting love;))

I love how Pete talks through the process and narrates what he is doing, I find myself watching the video and saying, "Oh I get it, that make sense!"

that Henry is a crack up...I'm sure we will all miss him .. Its just like when have 2 fast guns in a gang you eventually gotta see which ones quicker.
Teaching the future to carry on this lifestyle is awesome! Hard work but it’s good for our souls as human beings.
Love to see you restore the Farmall Cub
Spending time with family is what we get out of bed for Pete
