This relationship with Aunt May was closest to the comic books. Old looking like this and Peter always rushing to the hospital after all kinds of weird attacks by super villains . The other cinematic universes reinvented her but this is exactly it. Toby's spiderman movies were just spot on with almost everything.
TAS Aunt May is underrated. Tobey's aunt May is more of a Damsel-in-distress type while TAS Aunt May is more realistic and willing to help peter at all cost (she tried studying/working as a nurse if i recall) when Ben died.
Despite being the main villain, Norman/Goblin was spot on about Mary Jane not having those kind of feelings for Harry and being untrustworthy (especially in the sequels).
Not really, actually. I mean, yes, he got a lucky guess there with Harry, but Norman was just an asshole here, he compared a girl he met for 5 Minutes and didn't give any sign with his wife. This is actually a typical misogynistic behavior - One woman is mean to you, all woman are like that. Mary Jane is just a teenage girl, and of course she was experimenting. It's not like there are that many boys and girls who found a love and it was literally the right one (Speaking of experience). I actually think she really had feelings for Harry (or she believed she had) until Harry was standing on the side of his father who literally called her a whore and Harry not defending her. Like srsly, girls, do you want to be with a guy who takes side with someone insulting you? I had a girlfriend who took my side when I was insulted by her parents. And "especially in the sequels"? What do you mean? She had feelings for Peter Parker, who said "No" to her. What did you think she was doing?! Wait until he said yes?! She would be a creepy girl! Of course she dates another guy! And when Peter tried to get her back, of course she was like "Are you kidding me? You want me NOW that i have a boyfriend?!" That at the end she ran back to Peter Parker was not because she wanted Spider-Man as her boyfriend either (I mean, she had feelings, but as she stated she had a feeling). It was because she understood WHY Peter rejected her in the first place, and decided "I know your reason, and I am fine with the problems, I still want you". About Spider-Man 3? Yes, there were problems. It's called relationship. A difficult one. Of course there will be problems (and to be fair, Peter really messed up a bit after kissing Gwen Stacy - In front of MJ and even suggesting it! It's not like Gwen was suggesting the kiss). But I agree with a lot of people, that MJ instead of breaking up could have said "Hey, Harry is an asshole now - You are Spider-Man, kick his ass!" It is still possible that she was too afraid. So... No. Don't side with Norman here. He is an asshole (relatable, to be fair, but an asshole) and just had a lucky guess.
And they both told everyone what they've done in their recent fight: Norman: Work was Murder Peter Parker: Had to beat an old Lady with a Stick to get these.
3:10 This is the moment where Mr. Osborn realizes that he has to knock that bike messenger down himself. That guy is as good as dead for messing with Peter on his first Thanksgiving in town.
I mean, I remember MJ dating any asshole with a car which is why Peter worked his ass off of that wrestling match to buy one 😂 So yeah, she's kind of materialistic. But while I cannot blame her, I do agree with Norman seeing her as disingenuous for her feelings for Harry. I mean, she did kiss Spiderman while accepting Harry's advances towards her.
In a deleted scene/alternate scene he says "It's a jungle out there, some monkey coon tried to mug me for these cranberries." I wonder what Raimi meant by this?

Norman was crazy, but he was 100% right about MJ here. Ya'll MJ defenders seem to conveniently forget that she literally cheated on Harry RIGHT BEFORE this scene when she made out with Spiderman in the rain ON THE WAY to a date with Harry. A few scenes before that, MJ turned away when Harry tried to kiss her. She clearly never loved him, but dated him anyway. Why? She's either a gold-digger or using Harry to get to Peter. Either way, Norman was right about MJ using his son for her own benefits.
Uh... try looking at her face again after Norman and Harry argue. That's not her saving face, that's genuine hurt. She didn't love Harry, that's pretty obvious, but Norman made her sound worse than she actually is, and if anyone tells me otherwise, then their opinion is just wrong. Yes, opinions can just be wrong.
@AkiraStrix94 That has NOTHING to do with what he said. Who tf cares if she was genuinely hurt or not? She was a cheater. There's no making her sound "worse." The fact that you'd defend that behavior but get mad at a character for calling her out on it is concerning. (Obviously Norman didn't know he just guessed but he guessed RIGHT!) MJ is a selfish mofo in the Rami movies. It's the only thing I DON'T like in these films. Gwen in the Amazing Spider-Man films and MJ in the MCU are MUCH better. I don't know why but the way everyone, even Norman, calls Aunt May "Aunt May" it's just so endearing to me, it's like MJ and Harry always came over to Peter's house since childhood and Norman knows her because of his son's friend, they are a big non blood related family
I also love the scene where Peter gets sent out of the ER after she says everything she saw he realized who she was talking about was the goblin attacked her
If you notice, Norman changes his voice a little bit by the end of his lines, cause its the Goblin speaking, not Norman himself. He does the same in No Way Home when the Goblin takes control of him. Amazing acting and he kept the same all those years

Norman wasn't wrong about MJ. She was just a trifling woman. MJ was with Flash because he was a bad boy and there really wasn't any other options. When he broke it off, she went after Harry because he caught her in a vulnerable moment and because he's wealthy. We're not even going mention the guy MJ got engaged to, he got dealt a bad hand dealing with her. Then you have Peter Parker. MJ has always known that Peter was crazy about her, yet she gave him no time of day. She just liked the fact that Peter is hooked and she controls it. You can see throughout the movies that she seemingly "cares" what Peter thinks, in all actuality, she's tip toeing because she doesn't want Peter to cut free from the fishing line. In the hospital scene, MJ is not on good terms with Harry, so she tries to start something Peter, not because she actually likes him, but because her feelings aren't validated by Harry. MJ only started liking Peter after she found out he was Spider-Man. Which is effed up. Norman knew wtf he was talking about. 😅
"I'm sorry I'm late, work was murder" The shirt Norman is wearing is blue, later when Peter comes, he's wearing a green shirt, this obviously shows what they've been doing earlier
1:56 It’s just a split second, but I got the impression Norman was looking at MJ again. His interest in her in the whole Thanksgiving sequence is next level creepy.
This movie actually followed a good versus evil understanding more rigidly than any other Spiderman. The fact that Aunt May said the Lord's Prayer and the villain made sure she finished shows how they both knew the Prayer, just as evil knows very well the power of God, the Faith of His People and works openly against it. Consequently, having her finish the prayer was actually God using His Mercy and Grace through the conflicted Goblin/Osborn. The Goblin/evil side believes it is cruel to finish the prayer so that it shows Aunt May there is no one to save her, but in doing so he actually completes the prayer she was interrupted in praying and proves that God is by her side even when her body is in danger and furthermore proves that Osborn is still present while the Goblin is supposedly in control. I'm not sure if anyone on the writing staff thought this deep into it but the scene presents the understanding of God's Grace and the Power of Prayer in Faith in a wonderful way. Deus Vult

I had to fight a woman with a stick😂
Right when MJ left, imagine how awkward it would had been if she met Mr. Osborn at the elevator after hearing all of that. 😂
0:15 - Literally.
Green goblin after that fight:Ok let's change for the occasion. It's rude to be late.
Norman didn't need to know Peter was spiderman to know Peter was Spiderman. He just knew.
The other spidemans just don't hit like Tobey's spiderman
hes always gonna be the best one
He really needs to keep some bandages around he can web to his arm to keep from bleeding like that.
4:36 "Harry Osborn! Thats no way to talk to mary jane. No disrespect!"
After watching superhero movie , this scene hits different 😂😂
😂😂
"I'm sorry I'm late, work was murder"
The shirt Norman is wearing is blue, later when Peter comes, he's wearing a green shirt, this obviously shows what they've been doing earlier
After years, I finally got the “I had to beat an old lady with a stick” reference 🤦🏽♂️😂
"Work was mudrer" too
1:56 It’s just a split second, but I got the impression Norman was looking at MJ again. His interest in her in the whole Thanksgiving sequence is next level creepy.
I think they're just talking but he is in goblin mode here
After knowing he had an affair with Gwen Stacy in the comics. Norman in this scene became 10x creepier.
Harry couldn’t make a good first expression for his dad so he thought Mary Jane could.💀🤣
“Sorry I’m late it’s a jungle out there, I had to beat an old lady with a stick to get these cranberries.” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
the way harry defended his father..>>>
Little goblin jr. 😂
1:03 never noticed how Norman rushed into the room like a suspicious NPC
I just realized 😂
"First we attack his heart" also came in Spider Man 3 when the Goblin instructed Harry to takeaway MJ from Parker
Little goblin jr😂
DaFoe is the ultimate villain.
4:41 Blud just wants to have a perfect thanksgiving and it's a disaster
Idk what gives more suspense. This scene or Tom and Vulture in the car.
Deus Vult
The look Norman gives MJ at 0:47 is unsettling
What if that's just his goblin persona, @A-wc1yf ? It is possible since Norman's accident in the laboratory giving him a split-personality.
Yeah. And no empathy. Even mary jane would notice 0:48. Shes lovely. Peter is the only man that cares for her in the way that feels best ❤️
Hes thinking "really harry?" 😂
Dafoe is so fucking good in this movie it's crazy
“The cunning warrior attacks neither body, nor mind.”
tell me how!
The heart Osborn! First, we attack his heart.
Norman wasn’t lying to Harry. She wasn’t a Gold digger but she was something a cereal cheater
When she slaps his hand, she mashes his finger further into the food 😂
To Norman's credit, he was right about MJ 😂
nah he wasnt, she ended up going for the brokest choice she had and they ended up being happy with each other according to what raimi spidey says in nwh about their relationship
🤣 Untuk they snarling your fruit cake like a pack of ravening wolves 🤣🤣
I love this scene for the fact the Peter wears Goblin colors (green dress shirt), Norman wears spider-man colors (blue dress shirt and red tie), and Harry wears both (green dress shirt, blue jacket and red tie)
RIP grandpa ben
My favorite part of this scene is Osborn dropping some redpill advice, dude was way ahead of his time 😂
"Work was murder" gets me every time
"Sorry I'm late, work was murder"
It actually was😂
3:00 Norman ain’t buyin it
3:00 Nprman Ain't Buyin it
