Thanks a lot for this! I'm about halfway thru my TNT, and I'm starting to compile more and more info every day for what I'll need for my truck/truck journey. As well as if I'll go company or lease. Thanks again, I'll be staring at this channel for the next month lol
Hello Fr8sK8R from the Nashville TN area. Man, that's a long list of supplies that ALL truckers need on the road. Currently, I have an application on file with Prime for reefer division. My recruiter told me I needed the CDL permit w/tanker endorsement before taking the DOT physical. I'm going to the local DMV in about a week to retake the vison test and the written tests. So, if everything goes well there, I'll be contact with my recruiter to setup a date for the DOT physical. I'm going to have to watch this video multiple times to make sure I don't forget anything. Back to your list for needed supplies. At my current job, I help to check in a lot of inbound drivers, including some PRIME drivers, and a lot of them don't come prepared with a pen to fill our receiving forms or bolt cutters to break their seals. Hopefully, your recommended list of supplies can be shared will all new trainees coming into PRIME. You and momma stay safe out on the road. Happy Fourth of July Holidays!!
Thank You for your time and Interest David! Happy 4th! I hope your Prime Journey takes you where you want to go! Don’t forget to check the description, I listed the entire list so you can copy and paste for easy reference! Please feel free to reach out if you need anything! God Bless!
Hey, that is me. Being laid off from an IT Job with two hundred others at my company alone. Been there for 8 years, the week they told me I was gone in 6 weeks. Before that, worked in IT work for 3 years. It was only before that that I was an OTR driver for 8 years. Now, I have to get my CDL again, probably go thru school again, and start over. The real difference this time is being single, with no at home commitments. I probably won't even rent a place for awhile. Put everything in storage.
you forgot something...... bring your immigration paperwork when you go to the dmv. in fact bring all of it. bring everything you have. some offices will literally deny you with a passport (lol), others have turned ppl away because birth cert was too worn or they suspected it wasnt real. so bring everything you ever have had issued. since you are applying for a new license essentially, not just getting an endorsement on your regular one.
We were just told by another Prime driver that the TNT miles lowered to 30,000. Is that true and if so, is it only for PSD? We are wondering if they will take off 20,000 miles for those of us that came from an outside CDL school. Our Recruiter still has not answered us so thought we’d ask to see if you know please. Thanks!
It varies Wheel. To answer your original question, yes TNT miles are currently @ 30k total dispatched miles(to the truck, not what you drive alone) Also PSD is generally 10-14 days, usually no more than 10k miles total. If you came from an outside CDL school with your CDL(within the first 90 days of acquiring it) than you should go straight to TNT, sometimes even straight to a truck. If it’s been more than 90 days since you got your CDL, then you will be required to do an “assessment”(1 week min PSD style training) then you will be required to complete the full TNT process(30k miles) If you don’t have your CDL, you will be required to complete the entire PSD and TNT phases of training. Hopefully this helps Wheel! God Bless!
Hi, bless, I have a question, I'm currently talking to a recruiter, I wonder if, Can I go in MY own vehicle? Is there parking available or is it not recommended? Because I live in New Jersey, driving is like 2 hours and by public transport it took me like 8 hours to get to the Prime Inc school, u got me.
Looks like you need a big chunk of money to buy all this items tha you need, and space is very limited in the truck, so you will have to get very creative organizing all this items in the truck, specifically if you are in training and sharing space with another driver. No wonder is so difficult for this carriers to find drivers 🤷
Hey man im i got my CDL WITH PRIME LAST MONTH so im in TNT PHASE NOW its been 2 weeks tnt only did 8000 miles how long do you think its gonna take to finish this 30k miles ??? Thank you for your helpful video 🎉
Hmm, if you are filling diesel at loves, pilot , TA, or petro . My Love Rewards members can earn a free shower credit after fueling at least 50 gallons. But make sure you remember to use them! They expire after 10 days with Gold status and seven days with Base status. Diamond and Platinum members get free showers every day!
@tiktokfavorite3070 😅 that I did know it just sounded like it was free outside of fueling. Since prime drivers automatically get 4 points per gallon at TA I thought it was something like that at loves.
Actually under our(Primes) current contract with Loves. Every contractor at Prime with a Loves account should get an email that prompts you to activate Diamond Status with Loves automatically at the first of every month. With Pilot/Flying J you just have to buy any amount of fuel and you receive shower power(unlimited showers) Outside of Prime though yes depending on how much you fuel (50/60 gals) you receive a shower credit.
Please, let new drivers know the real true about the company. All this stuff are ok, but also people need to know how the industry work, what Project me is doing right now. New drivers can be in a financial hole and company don’t care about it. My experience was not the best, no everyone going to have the same experience, but, is good to talk the true all the time. Maybe you can make more money in UA-cam that drive by prime Inc…
Prime sucks..went to springfield for orientation ended up getting bus home at 330in the morning to go home..all lies no bonus trainers suck worse than swift..

@NotchNate just because you failed at a lease or picked one of the actual bad leases because you didn't do your do diligence and researched what you were signing, doesn't mean all leases are bad. Drivers looking to get into leases need to research all the options, know what they are signing, realize they are starting a business and are not just the driver now, along with realizing you're starting a business, form your llc and budget for taxes. Most leases fail not because it was a bad lease! They fail because the driver signing is doing it for the wrong reason and not realizing what they are doing! Not saying their aren't bad leases but I am saying that most drivers signing leases, are still acting like a company driver when they're also a business owner!
So basically, just go by the truck stop & buy 1 of everything 😂 Will all that stuff fit in the truck.. I think we will be over weight with material 😂😂 💯
