No girls in bikini's? no trucker drama? no cartoon "clickbait" thumbnails? no drone footage of the mountains? no new hemi sportscar? No video of the va-ka to a tropical island?
No, no, no, no, no, and NO......just more solid, frickin' useful, quality and knowledgeable content we can all use to improve our business, profitability, and bottom line......thank god...don't change brother.
I enjoy lots of different content, But yours and Sophia's is so, so Much Appreciated !!! Your subscribers are given an opportunity to succeed and repeatedly avoid countless mistakes and breakdowns that keep the wheels rollin' for us all.
Totally Agree, Plus no Bragging about how much you are getting per Mile. No half naked wives selling merchandise. Just straight up Trucking information.
Thank you! Your support means so much to me and Sophia!
Thanks Kevin! Sophia and I are working hard to put out good videos. No BS is ever allowed in our channel! 😉
100% agree, such a rare thing today.

I just stumbled across your channel this week , being a mechanic of 10 years and now making the jump to getting into owning big rigs,(doing most repairs and maintenance myself)I have found your videos to be EXTREMELY useful and packed full of knowledge! Thanks for being a honest guy with the knowledge , willing to share!
Welcome Dalton! Good luck with the new journey!
@@truckingandfixing 🙏 thank you! Just got my permit and start school in a couple weeks! Ready to hit the road running strong
I own a bus, not a big rig, but I'm learning about diesels and have done all my maintenance and repairs myself so far. Been shade tree wrenching for almost 40 years, so I have the tools and enough knowledge/experience to jump right in.
@@daltonbrown785 should be a millionaire by now
Quality content. Wouldn't expect anything less from you, sir. Thank you. I love this channel
Great tips! In the process of buying a rig now, I didn’t think of half the items you mentioned. Thanks for the quality vids.
Glad it helps!
You better get focused if your planning on driving a rig!
Needed this. I'm about to purchase. Thanks. I'm definitely going to check out the other vids to stay on point on my own truck
Ryan love your vedios, you give a lot of detail to look for when you buy a truck! The best for me is when you actually are doing the repairs or the way you do it step by step!
Very helpful series Ryan. Thank you.
Thanks buddy . The best and clear explanation and real advice.
Thanks Ryan! Super informative and I’m eager to watch more of your videos.
Thank you for the explanations and recommendations im excited to get started in the trucking industry im about to be 18 next month and will be getting my CDL A and have already paid for the schooling. I wouldnt have even thought of trucking without youtube videos explaining all of this so thank you again!!
Ive watched alot of you tube videos on trucking and yours are always the most knowledgeable. I've been with Landstar a few months now and everything is going well. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for your support! Good luck!!
Great tips & info. Keep up the good work
Just wanna thanks for your all video . Such a gr8 stuff. No any other you tuber explain like you do. Such a big help for trucker even new or older. 🙏🙏
I am glad it can be a help! Good luck! 👍
Just bought a 07 sterling at 9500 MBE4000 engine from a private seller. Found a mechanic on fb who did inspections. …..he came out and hooked up the diagnostics computer to the trucks computer. He checked for codes, hours, combustions tests etc….truck only had 7,000 hours with 151,000 miles…..checked brakes suspension etc….checked out pretty good…gotta do brake pads and shocks tho. Hopefully it holds up
So glad I found you !!! Thank you .. getting my CDL for now I have a box truck .. but by next year I wanna get my own tractor
This is great stuff thanks for taking time to educate us. Thanks 🙏
I appreciate the comment! Thank you!
I would add, crusty old zip ties, galvanized turbo/CAC clamps, all of those look bright and shiny! water clamps and silicon hoses, CAC /turbo connector tubes for indent, turbo clamps for rotation.. if they are pointed down.. NO mech would install them like that lol. Hammer tap U-Bolts/Huck Bolts for breakage.. and top main coolant into therm housing! As you say, Watch for neglect in the small details and you can tell how much the truck was cared for!
Excellent video my brother.
Great info, thanks for putting this out.
Thanks 🙏
Cool. Doing automotive mechanics but wanted to learn more about trucks. Very informative.

Thanks, Ryan! This info is beneficial. You are a blessing to many who had no idea what to look for in purchasing a truck and were too proud to ask. I have the most respect and appreciation for you and your integrity.
Thanks Claude! Always enjoy reading your comments! 👍😃
@@truckingandfixing thanks Ryan?
Is it ok to change oil every 10 thousand miles?
Too proud to ask? You better man up! You'll be spending thousands!

Can you make a video walking through how to bypass/ cancel the egr? Not the full emissions system just the egr.
Very helpful thank you so much. Look forward to more videos! Would be awesome if you can make a video about financing your first truck (currently a company driver) but looking to get my own soon with the prices starting to drop.
Just trying to get as much knowledge as I can before jumping into my own

Maintenance, Maintenance and more Maintenance, don't be afraid to do oil changes and don't go by what the manufacturers say, don't be afraid to send oil samples to check viscosity, I have personally always ran Mobile Delvac since I learned that it runs the longest of the truck oils shy of going synthetic and even Delvac starts losing viscosity at 12,000 miles so I did oil changes at 10,000 miles and the only engine I had overhauled went 1.8 million miles before the overhaul, the more electronics You have the cleaner You need to keep it and when purchasing a used truck ask for Maintenance records people who actually take care of their equipment keep a log of everything done to the truck and receipts for tax purposes especially for major repairs Engines, Transmissions and Rearends ,if it looks like it wasn't maintained by all means walk away.
The first thing is : ask yourself if the massive headaches and heartache is worth the extra pocket change? Because you can make more , but you can easily lose your rump too!
Good info !
Thank you!
Thank you for your videos. I have a question regarding the bunker heater I have in my truck. I had an issue with my ap unit before but the heater was still working. Now the heater is not working at all. I keep getting a yellow triangle error on there. First I did a total rebuild. Changed all casket, fuel pump, fuel line, still no heat. What do you recommend I do next?
What I get from this is that owning a truck is like owning a boat x 4. I see all these UA-camrs talking about making big bucks in trucking. If they're owner operators, they must be making negative earnings come year end with all the maintenance and repairs unless they somehow have the time and equipment to work on it all themselves in addition to driving 3,000 miles a week. Seems like a good business to go broke in.
Very helpful video
Thank you!
I use Mobile Delvac as well in my truck. Change it every 15 to 20k miles. Nice thing about my Volvo is that it uses three oil filters, so I can go a bit further between changes before the oil starts to change color.
Have You ever done oil sampling because I ran Delvac for decades and it starts to lose it's viscosity at about 12,000 miles, Rotella loses it's viscosity about 8,000 miles.
@@edmunger5595 I used Mobil Delvac 15w-40. Oil would lose viscosity according to my oil samples taken at around 22k.
It's simple buy a truck out of a lease fleet or a company fleet were maintenance and service of the truck was priority, most of them start getting rid of their trucks at 500 to 600 thousand miles. Never buy a truck from a run of the mill dealer usually a name brand dealer is better Pete, KW ect. Never buy a truck from and owner operator unless you you know the truck and how it was taken care of, the worst is an owner operator running a piece of junk. Here is the list in my opinion has the best resale value in the market best to worst. KW, Pete, Western Star, Freightliner, International, Volvo. Napa has a good fleet of used trucks.
Dude.. you are amazing
😊
Thank you 🙏
Good Cameraman. Great zooms and focus on your talking points.
Thank you! Wife needs some compliments like this! 👍😃
Thanks man.
You are welcome!
Thanks Ryan👍🚛
Thanks Greg for taking the time to comment!
@@truckingandfixing of course man I try to help out your channels best I can I really get a lot of good information from the knowledge that you've retained over the years
Thanks for sharing Bro
You are welcome!
A lot of the freightliners in the fleet I work on were “safe “ (90% of them) to the half million mile mark …
By that I meant 90% of our trucks went close to 500,000 with little to moderate repairs.
The occasional engine light usually a simple sensor (inlet or outlet NOx sometimes a pressure sensor )once ina while needed DPFS.
Inspections tires brakes ocational wheel seal .
Most one boxes on our fleet start shutting the bees around 550,000 on average
We had one at 380,000 need one and another at 739,000 needing one
Thanks!
You are welcome!
good advice...
Thank you!
Every APU I've ever had never stays working for long. TK & Carrier can freeze a trailer to -20 but they can't chill/heat a truck cab.
I'm looking at your video for the first time, and it is so informative. If I follow your instructions to go over a used truck and have a diesel mechanic clear the truck and hook a computer to it to get all of the information as you said. Will a used truck with low idol hours will it be a good buy for 60 to 65k
Bearing seals , crankshaft seals.....have a metal spring sandwiched in-between rubber which the rubber is what contacts the shaft and I believe the spring is there to keep a tight fit between the seal and shaft thus maybe keeping dirt and debris out . I like to grease the shaft and contact point of seal when able . If that rubber wears away then the spring comes in contact with the shaft thus if not caught in time will wear a groove in shaft . Which then usually the shaft has to be replaced , welded and machined , or resleeved and hopefully that is the least of your problems .
Thank you for sharing your experience! 👍
@@truckingandfixing Thanks for all you do as well !
Nice SEABEE Sticker, ACB-1 2000-2004 Headquarters Co. Armory here, great videos very informative. Can you do a EGR delete and keep the other DPF stuff on and it run fine with maybe a tune? Anything to get more longevity out of your engine along with PMs. Thank you.
I was there from 2004 to 2008. I came there on March 2004. I was in the CM shop, Alpha company. When you do a mission delete, all the components stay on the truck and look normal. The EGR valve won't function and the EGR core will be blocked off. And you just put a hole in the DPF filter. The main problem is that you have to be concerned about overheating the turbo with a bad tune.
77,000 views and only 2.8k likes? Come on guys give this guy the thumbs up great video.
👍👍👍
Nice
Thanks Brother 👍🏽 Just Sub
Thanks! Welcome aboard!
Maybe nextime checking the engine condition for blowby or not.smoke comes out normal or not normal
Wow I should’ve looked at this video before I bought mine I broke down after 5 weeks of work
Thank you 🙏 alot
You are welcome!
Gonna have to remake this one.
Only half kidding, but should I go to diesel mechanic school before buying a truck? Thanks for the video.
Just got a kw t680 with 300k miles for 80k
After watching this
I think I got a good truck
Most definitely
Good afternoon, I was wondering if you could recommend a good shop in the Monroe / Toledo, OH area to do a inframe rebuild. On a Detroit 60 series 14l
Can we buy an OBD type and plug it in. Have you done a video on how to plug it and how much is the cost?
I'm kind of curious. If a truck has a smart idle system in which the engine is running at some capacity ( I'm not sure how much,) how much would that count towards the mileage/hrs of an overhaul?
Take the amount of hours and divide by 24 to see how many days that truck has been operated for. Then subtract 10 hours for every day to get average total load time
40:36 i had an old man sell me a flux capacitor once. After he installed it, he told me in order to get what i wanted out of it, i needed to achieve 88 mph😅
Awesome video just wish you would've focused more on engine. You told us at the beginning that a rebuild could cost 40k or so. I'm worried about the MOST expensive repairs when buying a used semi..not shocks , brakes , tires ect (which can add up yes but not amount to a small fraction of a rebuild). More engine checks woulda made this video a 10. Other then that 2 thumbs up!
Would like to know some advice, things to look for, when checking rear ends, tranny, engine too if possible.
We will make a video on the engine topic soon. Stay tuned
My advice is to change the oil on the Engine every 30 days with out fail.v
Looking at a 2013 Volvo vnl with 678k miles , manual transmission and a isx15 and a 2017 Volvo with a D-12 I shift 800k miles- I’ve owned both of these motors pre- def generation and both excellent motors. I would appreciate any wisdom. Thank you
How are you able to do trucking, fixing, paperwork, accounting, maintenance, etc and on top of all that your videos on UA-cam ?
Your thoughts please on buying used from enterprise, etc?
Can you do a video on a cm2250 quirks? Or a cm2250 vs cm2350? Thanks for all the videos!!!!!
Thanks for the suggestion. Will do!
Thanks
I got lucky with a farmer who had a steel contract. He bought a new KW I worked for him 2 years and he let me buy it off him.
Great! Good for you!
