We finally swapped a turbo l28 into our 280zx. It's been a dream to own a turbo 280zx and now its finally one.

It's beautiful! Many people don't remember how fast the Turbo ZX was when they were introduced. Nothing could touch them.
I still have my Turbo automatic and all I did was turn up the boost, install full flow 3 inch straight pipes and ran mid to high 13s in the quarter on the track. I later added an intercooler and ran a 13.2. Full respect to the Datsun Turbos.

TRIM black is part of the SEM dye system meant for interior and low temp applications. I'd use vht or another high temp paint meant for engines. Glory to the Z.

Oh yeah we used the trim black just for the brackets and stuff. We did used a high temp engine paint for the block. Thanks for watching!

Did you guys get that motor to fit the trans? The Turbo models used a Borg-Warner T5 transmission.

Yeah bolted right up. Also used a 2+2 turbo clutch. Plan is to upgrade to a z32 trans in the future.

it doesnt need a paint job leave it as is. not everything needs to look pretty and new. that patina it gots it what makes it pretty and new

We do like the patina look. But the body kit is spray painted so it does look off in person.

How much HP does the Turbo make?

around 180-200hp nothing crazy but plans are to go bigger turbo and e85 in the future. Car doesn't need much hp tbh feels great even stock turbo.
