If you could get anything for perez i would take anything. Still holding out hope we get a contorable bat. And we could easilly afford to trade away a young arm. Next years possible rotation. Skeenes, jones, kellier, olivedo, and ortiz. With quinn being the 6th guy and failter being that spot starter and long reliever.
I'm all in on trading Gonzales. He is someone who can bring back a legit return. Also he is more valuable to another team than us, as other teams are more likely to exercise his option. Aside from Crochet and Skubal, he is in the next tier of lefty starters and has a good track record to go along with good results this season. A team like the Orioles/Padres/Guardians/Twins/Diamondbacks could use someone proven for the playoff run, and send us someone blocked (Guardians have 4 good 1B prospects, so Gonzales for CJ Kayfus seems nice)

Perez is still a good pitcher he just no longer has starter stamina and would best serve the team from the bullpen or as sweetener in a trade.
I’d like to see them get Rooker from A’s and plug him in RF.
