I have an A770, and it's been flawless for me. I don't play a big variety of games so I'm sure there are some titles out there with driver issues, but I personally have had nothing but good experiences with it. I look forward to seeing what Battlemage brings to the table.
I bought the A770 on day one. It was rough but my god I love it. Does amazing transcoding for my Plex and consistently runs 4k games over 100fps. Make some minor tweaks to my graphics settings in game and I can max my monitor out.
Got the sparkle a770 in a $500 microcenter bundle with 12600kf, msi z790 mb and 16 gb ram for my Wifes new build (She doesn't play games). Totally surprised me, enough so, that I sold my 2070 to recoup the cost and kept the A770 for my gamer self lol. Wife did get an older Rx580 8gb card but She only watches movies so it worked out great!
It's been now 9 months with my ARC A770 16GB at 1440p, i have to say i'm pretty surprised with the performance in gaming, especially with Xess. I didn't really have any problems in my games and it's quite fun to see the evolution of this card with the updates
I have a 3060 12gb, looking to upgrade but not a big fan of the 40s pricing I'm torn between a 7800xt and a770, I play 1440p what kind of performance do you get?
Intel right now has improved so much from launch. Pound for Pound some of the best budget gpus on the market. Run a little A380 for my tv and im playing most my games at 1080p 60 no issues. Games that are very graphics intense it can struggle. I managed to get Assassins Creed Odyssey on medium around 52-55 fps 1080p.
My Arc only goes blank when the drivers are being updated (as expected). If you set it auto download and install this could be one reason. They put out a lot of drivers updates. It seems to be at least twice a month, I want to say on Modays, and sometime everyweek. mine has worked absoutely great. I feel I made the best decision comparing cost to performance on my Intel 13700 series build.
It definitely performs well enough. Obviously the RTX 4070 I had was better but I don't really notice so much. I'll turn off the rue auto updates I think see if that helps.
I did pick up the bifrost when the drivers were unstable, then i bounced around with amd for a bit but for some reason the radeon cards just don't translate well.... I ended going really budget and picked up the a580 i gotta say that it is really awesome how a cheap card can perform so well given its stature. Looking forward to seeing what battlemage will do
I've been an AMD user for the most part and always been happy. Last of theirs was the Vega 56 which I enjoyed. A580 is crazy good value. Really looking forward to Battlemage.
When I first got an A750, I had the infrequent monitor-blackouts when attaching it to my 4K display... until I replaced the HDMI cable. Arc seems to be more sensitive about cheap HDMI cables than nVidia. Try using Displayport, if you can.
not surprised. Knowing intel they focus ai and the production of tech workers like graphic design and machine learning and video editing at the core. Gaming was just the extra thing they added in for these graphics cards. Huge dev team, massive engineer teams, huge company, much funds, constant updates and fixes, great product prices. In my eyes within 11 years intel will be the go to for gaming and freelancers/ tech workers with the best price per performance in the gpu market.
I've had the Arc A770 16GB for almost a year now. I started with the ACER Bifrost at first, but it ran way too hot, thermal-throttling at 89 deg C while running Heaven Benchmark. So, I switched to the AsRock Phantom Gaming one, and have not looked back. I play Halo Infinite now at around 100 FPS on High/Medium settings at 1440p with HDR on. Running the Heaven Benchmark on the latest drivers, I got 363 max FPS in my PC with a Ryzen 7 5800X. Compare that to my other PC with a Ryzen 9 5900X and an RTX 4070 Ti Super, which only got 361 max FPS, I think the Arc card is a real sleeper that can perform as well as the 4070 Ti Super.
I went with intel 13400 with igpu and Arc A770LE 16gb. Recently started to use Da vinci resolve which has worked flawlessy, although my needs are only for 1080p editing at the moment, I cant see any issues with 4k editing, it also works well on all games we play often IE minecraft, forza. Forza had some rendering issues early on, but the drivers are updated all the time and the card gets better and better each time. No issues with Forza since december. To maximise an Intel CPU/GPU combo I would suggest having resizable bar. Alot of bias against arc cards still exists because of early driver issues, but its a solid stable gpu at a comparatively low price.
Currently have a 3070 and it’s been solid at 1440p, but I am definitely looking forward to battle mage. I was hesitant on the arc770, but I’ve seen their improvements with it: might make the switch if battle mage proves to be solid
I just upgraded from the A770 to a 4070TS, yes, the ARC can play games at high res for it just doesnt have the processing power for graphical games without lowering the settings. No point in playing high res if you have to lower settings though.
I built a PC back in March, and encountered issues with my GPU at the time (7600 XT). While I was looking for a replacement, I stumbled across your video, and made the decision to try for Team Blue. My friends were pushing me towards the 4070, but I just didn't want to fork over so much cash if ARC could fulfil my needs at a lesser price. I picked up the ASRock Challenger A770 16GB. I have to say, I've had minimal issues with this card the past 6 months, and I really like the driver support / updates. It handles FFXIV like a dream! It's a shame the card is such a hard sell, given it's launch day stigma, especially since prices have dropped significantly (at least where I am). Yes, it can be a bit finicky with ARC Control, and the end-user will need to have the capacity to troubleshoot issues themselves, but I'd say it's a good card that more people should at least integrate into one of their systems. Looking forward to what Battlemage has to offer!
I have that exact same card & have zero complaints about it. I switched from a 3060ti because I wanted the extra vram for playing some modded games. I would definitely buy again without hesitation.
I have a Arc380 in my OBS Linux server and it seems to do quite well for encoding AV1 and even multi encode at same time. Yet to test it at 4k encoding as waiting on new MB (need faster usb) but it should do fine. As for gaming, well A380 isn't really for gaming and Intels Linux drivers are still being developed for the Vulkan/OGL side of things.
Held off for years as I was on the 1080TI. Every gen of Nvidia since has been over priced gimmicks so I held off. I almost sold up for the RX6700xt and finally decide last month to check what was going and landed on the RX7900GRE. I passed the 1080Ti down to the 6 y/o for his roblox/minecraft/steam pc (mainly to keep it in the family) and paid £480 for the Asrock steel legend version of the 7900GRE. I could not be happier. Amazing GPU. It is good you are happy with the Arc overall and have had the tolerance to adjust it. In your case with streaming and possibly gaming and having a decent workload the overpriced Nvidia would have been solid for your needs but hearing the Arc has worked is superb.
Yeah honestly the Nvidia was great but I don't want to support them as a company and I want to see Intel succeed. Building another rig soon for video editing which will house the ARC and I'll get something else in my main PC, either Intel Battlemage or AMD. Thanks for watching! That 7900GRE is great I hear.
I have an A750 and A770. Little to no issues with the A770. The A750 works great too, but but not as well as the A770. Really need vram to be 12gb or more for any card these days. I can see the vram maxing out at 8gb fairly quickly in games like Hogwarts legacy. No problems with lockups on the A770 or screen blackouts. Occasional audio issues on really old games(10 years or more), but that may not be the card. Hard to verify audio issues
7 months with a Sparkle 770 16GB, 13700K, ASUS Prime Wi-Fi board (Micro Center Combo). Only 2 issues that are not a big deal but are random and no actual fix. 1 Sometimes driver updates don't go right and have to reinstall. No big deal but does make ya pause like WTF. Not sure if it is Windows or card, it loads the Windows default driver 4228 at start up. Reinstall, SHUT DOWN, stat up and it fine, have to reset fans. 2 Have a TCL 4K 60Hz TV/Monitor I use and sometimes the HDMI loses it signal at start up, just unplug from card and plug back in, it's fine after that. Not sure if it's TV or card Great card for the price, just check if there are issue with you game or program before buying. Playing Helldriver 2 1440p "medium" settings at a set 80FPS no problems 65C with custom fan settings. Ran ULTRA setting 1440p got 127FPS but my TV/Monitor didn't like it. Ran 4K ULTRA and got 34 FPS card ran 75-80C but the 240AIO on my 13700K was screaming hitting 96C at 55% utilization.
i bought A770 LE then moved my pc to other place...bought rtx 3080 10gb builded a pc...then...i gaved pc with rtx 3080 to dad and bring back my A770 LE pc and as a second pc waiting for Battlemage :D but the most funny part rtx build have intel cpu but ARC uh umm...5800X (1CCD) and if comes to computing tasks or upscaling images absolutely no match for that it catches 3080 in computing task but really specific ones actually but it has more vram and pics are in higher quality btw black screens are related to or can be related to displayport especially if pc goes to sleep then it might happen if that was the problem
@@GroundedTech definitely yes 10GB is not enough for all my workloads so i will probably go for 3080 Ti or oh i never thought of that but 3090 secondhand because my local market is not bad at all and also my current 3080 started to artifacting i bet on memory modules but not sure GPU die itself should be fine so i may repair it and put together better gaming pc for dad so upgrade is unavoidable x_X i wanted ARC LE but if i am not mistaken H264 is better on 3080 encode/decode need both so can't wait for Battlemage
I found it fine for H264 tbh. 16gb VRAM. It's 👌🏻 for the price. Battlemage soon and I hope to do better content on that during the first year in particular.
@@GroundedTech well i don't tested it did not compare but if you say so then good more than good, i think they will do a much better job but another issue can be programs which will not support it at full potential like Resolve and it will take some time anyway thank you i will get another ARC really love their drivers i can adjust my monitor brightness color saturation etc directly and i will save some electricity because that TUF 3080 is a freakin' toaster and also as you mentioned 16GB is a huge help
@theanglerfish I'm enjoying using it in Resolve. I'll probably pick up Studio in the near future. AV1 rendering in the free version though is so good to have. Mate of mine is getting the 5090 when it launches but that's too expensive for my tastes lol
Thanks for making the video! I've been torn between an a770 and an rtx 4060 bc everyone keeps telling me the 4060 is better for gaming and video editing/3d modelling. This cleared it all up. Thanks!
I have also the Biforst ARC 770, and it's probably the best value for the work\games that I play. Combined with a Ryzen 7 7700 and 64Gig of DDR5, it's way better than anything I had before. I do everything in QHD and for that it's just perfect
I am really wanting to try the Intel Arc 770 LE however, I am hearing how it is not as strong as other mid-tiered cards. I may wait for the new generation of Intel's GPU.
It is just as strong but it's all down to drivers and Intel have been doing a great job with updates. Like I said in the video if you want a more hassle free experience maybe go for AMD or NVidia.
When I was for my first PC Build, I wanted the best of it, so I went for 13900K with everything else top end. I got confused with GPU options since I was a noob. My only reason to choose A770 LE was that Intel had only 2 options aA750 and A770. Being A770 a top GPU from Intel. I thaught I will get the best of it. And It also saved me from confusion I was getting between a lots of GPUs from amd/nvidia. And here I am after 1 year with zero regrets. I am not a problem gamer. But I have played GTA san Andreas definitive edition (I know), God Of War 4, AoM retold, Resident evil 4 remake, all at high settings and never noticed an issue. It's flawless and beautiful Card for me. And I do get regular driver updates from Intel giving me hopes that the GPU is getting better each update.
The only game I have issues with my a770 is star citizen. Other games, it runs like a champ. Low temps at 2.4ghz. I am upgrading to a 12600k because I can use arc control unless the cpu is 12th gen or newer.
ive been in and out of pcpartpicker trying to think up any potential new builds or upgrades for my current desktop. I've been considering the a750 or a770 but I also want to wait and see how the battlemage gpus are priced. hopefully intel doesnt have an nvidia moment.
@@GroundedTechForget the music. Most people would find it annoying. As to the ARC card... I personally own the A770-16 LE. I love that thing. The output...though not as high overall in fps, is smoother on all of my titles.
@Saabjock yeah I find it annoying myself lol I desperately wanted the LE version but it wasn't really available when I got the Predator Bifrost, but it still has the 16GB of VRAM and looks lovely so I'm happy. My games run very well indeed.
the only thing bugging me is sometime when out focus from game, my screen where the game is on, going flickering randomly, and had to restart the pc or restart the game.
A770 has been on my radar for ages. been on a vega 64 for 6 years now and arc's price has been very compelling. i've been finding used 16GB A770's for around £220 which is pretty hard to argue even with the potential compatibility issues - 3060ti is a little more expensive and only has 8gb! the only other super compelling choice for me would be a 6800 for around £320. really debating pulling the trigger.
@thanatoast4 just for transparency though, I swapped out my Arc A770 last week. I should do a follow up talking head video to talk about it. I'd still give it a go though.
Personally, I've had it for almost 2 years and I'm not disappointed at all. I had problems with it when I updated with beta update on Lethal Company or Left 4 Dead 2, but in normal updating, never had any problems. On the other hand, the thing that bothers me with it is the fact that it doesn't have the VR functionalities for the Quest application even though it works very well in Virtual Desktop on Quest, which means that I I had to buy a cheap RX 590 to fix the problem while Intel fixed it (sorry google trad here, i'm not english-speaker)
Oh don't worry I could understand perfectly. You're not the first to complain about the lack of VR support. Glad you've found it to be great otherwise.
With my a770 16gb from sparkle so far the experience has been really good on windows and linux although once my windows 11 install was borked when installing drivers, linux seems to be more stable than windows in my case
ARC you have to review it with CPU. It is 50/50 on tasks almost with very small waiting time. AMD/Nvidia it is almost 100% on the GPU alone that results almost all the tasks are within GPU and waiting time is broken and long. Your FPS will show lot higher but performance and game play is lot lower. I would go as far as A770 being the better option to 4070ti on 4k with only half the FPS showing. But there is completely different architecture that in my opinion can't be compared with FPS only. Your glitches could be CPU related as AMD is different architecture. Yes works but there is a widening gap between the CPU's now with every driver update. Maybe the CPU takes a little time to catch up. Also check Intel Application Optimization (APO) that will change the game. Still very new but INTEL ARC will get a boost of 10-50% on supported games. I see this why Nvidia is also getting into CPU's as I see the limits of their current architecture and Wattage needed. It is a problem but if you can split the tasks to GPU and CPU you gain an advantage. So when looking at the big picture the A770 will rake the benefits also and age like a fine wine.
Thanks. I'll keep all that in mind. I'm not a super PC whizz myself so still learning a lot. Don't think I'm knowledgeable enough to do a review so that's why I just did this general chat about my experience. Thanks for the comment!
I bought the Asrock Challenger A770 16GB 2 fan model about 6 months ago to go into a Lan Party style ITX case and it runs everything I throw at it in 1440P, well over 100FPS in any game I am in. I haven't had any real issues with older games.. I also play tons of older MW games, MOH, Homefront, Diablo 3, Skyrim with mods, and haven't haven't see any strange issues. Perhaps ignorance is bliss as I bought the card for a Lan Party Machine that my daughter was using for Baulder's Gate 3 until we set her up with her own build. I have AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel in my house, with a mix of processors. Comparing it to my RX7800XT 16GB and my 4060 16GB, I wonder why I didn't just buy 3 A770s to be honest. I would have saved myself a ton of money and been just as happy. Since I don't edit videos and such, I really don't see any benefits from that side of the house.
@@GroundedTech Like you, I wasn't ready to take the plunge on the Intel's at the time of buying my AMD and NVIDIA cards. After I had those in place, it was less of an issue to "take the risk" on the A7790 and it worked out for me. I am quietly waiting for Battlemage, if they are half the card I am hoping they are, I will replace the AMD and NVIDIA cards. I would do it now, but I really want to see the Battlemages first.
@lynnjr457 yeah for sure. Shouldn't be too long to wait now. Hopefully I can pick it up and make a similar video to this but maybe with a little more detail. I'm not used to covering PC stuff! Lol
My biggest sadness with my A770 is there's no official VR support. Currently looking after a used Quest or Pico so I can play VR through Virtual Desktop. Otherwise I've enjoyed my experience and look forward to trying future Intel GPUs.
@@GroundedTech I remember back when Alan wake 2 came out the game ran horrible on my a770 but I went back like 2 months ago and they game runs amazing now and I play at 1440p
I have Intel A770 16gb sparkle edition and it’s been nothing but great to me so far better than I expected it depends on what game you play, Certain games are better optimized than others like….I can play Forza horizon 5 and max out my monitor on 1080p high no issues as so CS go2 etc ……ray tracing on the other hand is not that great but it’s better than before but I honestly never use its up scaling it’s pretty awesome it may not give you the super high frame rates at the other ones, but the quality is amazing and buttery smooth and it’s just getting better as the drivers progress.
Glad i went with 7800xt nitro + And Clevo pe60 i9 13900h 4070 140w mobile. Still a 770 is a great 1080p / 1440 card for the price. Also this model is hard to get right now.
oh if ytou want to fix the driver crash, it's related to various programs with really shitty sound paths. Disable hdmi audio output! It's not an intel problem, it's the conflicting programs! Happened with WoW/discord both running on polaris or older amd cards. They did put out a workaround but intel is trying to address it with ms to not allow programs to do that shit. Nvidia has the same issue with another set of programs, named teams and other voice programs that try to take exclusive control.
I'll be doing a new build later this year to replace my aging Alienware Area 51m laptop in my semi truck. Dirching the "supposed to be upgradable" laptop for an MATX/ITX build. I'm just waiting for Arrow lake, since most all the leaks I've seen say it's supposed to be around 30-35% more power efficient, so hopefully cooler running than 13/14th gen. As for GPU I could buy the 5090, but at this point I don't wanna support Nvidia much anymore if all they care about is AI and investors.. I'll probably go for Battlemage off the get go, should still be a decent step up from the RTX 2080 in my laptop. Double the VRAM if not more, depending on the skews. Should be good for 1440p and decent for 4k. Though those WOLED dual mode monitors are intriguing. 4k 240hz and 1080p 480hz all in one.. Depending on the title it offers some flexibility. Still measuring and figuring out how all I want to set it up in the sleeper of my truck. Gotta oder custom VESA mount, need a shock absorbing mounting solution for the MATX tower I ordered, and one of those couch gaming style keyboard/mouse tray/desks. Always interesting figuring out a setup/solution for a relatively confined space lol.
I'm certainly amped to have a build with more "options and upgrade ability" once again. My main concern is just dealing with vibrations and shock from the road. I plan on air cooling, and probably going with the Deepcool Assassin IV. So I'll probably need some support for the cooler tower to prevent it from leveraging in the mobo and socket. I will also probably need a support strut or something on the GPU to prevent it from damaging the PCIe connector. As for the case it's self I'm considering fabricating a custom shock mount similar to what microphones use, just upscaled. Perhaps a metal plate suspended inside a bracket using rubber bands or bungee cord. All a work in progress, I just have to make sure it will all fit handily.
i moved to a770 16gb also. awesome card stable but issues with gaming. came across this video digging for more info with HOLO OS v3 for assetto corsa/ content manager and competizione, civ6 beamNG. for win 11 beta os, i ran reshade 6.1, lossless scaling. for the wierd screen issues, i kinda traced it to th gpu switiching between iGPU and dGPU output even if iGPU is disabled in bios. love the card and its going toage well. it will get better drivers as we go into Intel Arc gen2. Xess works but my games are DX10/11 so not the best for frame rates but i still try to hit 100-160fps for my 3840x1600 160hz monitor LG38n960
I get it. Ya might do more productivity work, plus if its a 4070 nonx ram, then sure. Now if it was a 4070ti super, then id be confused. Honestly, i just grabbed a 770 to see how they run, probably build and sell a pc with it. Theyve got better and im curious.
Yeah that's it. I just sold mine on. I'm going to do a follow up video just to go over why. Great card but the issues I ended up having I couldn't tolerate.
@@GroundedTech i hope i dont have too many issues today considering i might sell it. but if its too unstable then i wont be able to and maybe sell later and grab a battlemage if they turn out to be worth it. i like them getting into the gpus.
Hey, how is Arc A770 in productivity work like 3D animation, Game dev (Unreal Engine 5), video editing compared to RTX 4070? Like 4070 might be better, but which one would be a value for money? (as there's a huge price difference)
I do talk about my video editing experience in the video. Currently trying to learn Premiere Pro and the process is super smooth with the Arc A770. Can't really talk about the other stuff I'm afraid as have no experience.
I've never bought a GPU, haven't messed around PC in over 20 years since I was a teen, just been laptops. Now I am looking to build one and I am seriously considering Intel ARC platform. I am well aware of the issues but I can very much see the DIRECTION it is going, and I feel to be apart of that. I will mostly be doing video editing anyway, some casual gaming IF i have the time, and I what I would play this card already supports.... GTAV, and I want to be ready for GTAVI!!
Let's just hope, the new upcoming battlemage will have great price per Performance which will make a great shift to the GPU Market, i have heard that Intel is really serious about it, which is a good thing for us customer.
Competition is good. There’s literally no reason for corporations to exist if they aren’t being forced to compete against each other. There are positives and negatives to it, just like anything else in the market. It just is what it is.
Instead of using your gaming computer with the a770 , use something else , record in hevc with your cpu , then transfert the recorded file to a computer using the a770 , that will allow you to have high encoding speed without problems However , streaming in av1 might not work , but if i remember well , you can use an other computer to record your main computer screen ? Personaly , as someone that save a lot of anime/tv show , having a 2nd computer with this gpu is amazing , its way faster than a rtx4090 at encoding and it cost 5x less
That's an option for people running two PCs. But that's not most people. Streaming in AV1 works great on UA-cam. Looking forward to trying it on Twitch at some stage.

@@GroundedTech Yes, they rae cheap but my card right now is alot faster then the A770, i will wait for the next cards, should be this year, in september.
im thinking about joining team blue my self the 16 gb A770 is pretty cheap for a 16gb card and i have a feeling the next gen games are going to require 12gb since the ps5 pro mid gen upgrade is 12gb of vram and the ps6 will be faster then the ps5 pro maybe by 30% so it makes sense people are going to be upgrading to 12gb cards. i say get a cheap 16gb card now to future proof for next gen.
Naaah wtf is this for clickbait :P And I think I did see you post about this for a while on twitter right? Solid vid ;) Glad you made a video again! And seems so far, performs well! GG!
@@GroundedTech thank you for the answer! Wow, sounds really good! Can I ask you few more questions? 1. How silent it is? 2. Does it stop the fans when there is no tasks? 3. Are you satisfied with the rendering speed in your work with Premiere Pro? 4. Did you switch to AV1 codec completely for the new projects?
@colibri_studios you can hear it whir up a little bit when you start the render otherwise it's fine. The card does use more power when idle compared to other cards but the fans don't go crazy. Multiple power modes help. Performance has been nothing short of stellar. AV1 encode is excellent. However what I would say is if you want it for AV1 you can get a cheap A380 for that work and it would do nearly as good a job on a fraction of the price. A750 a great option if you want extra chops for gaming. Having the A770 with 16gb RAM is nice though.
@@GroundedTech thank you! Your video and advice are very useful and important! Yes, well I hear a lot that 8Gb of VRAM is already not enough for tasks like color grading and noise reduction in Davici Resolve so I thought 16Gb of VRAM is what a video editor must have. Among the 16Gb GPUs A770 has no competitors in its price range for sure. Even way more expensive 4060TI 16Gb shows pretty disappointing performance and 4070 12 Gb I simply can't afford. So I figured that A770 would be a good compromise for my work and some future proof. It's just some part of me is still scared with all those negative comments - people complain about drivers instability and that the product is still raw. So some part of me still wants just to get a 4060 and not to worry about such things. But in the same time I feel a challenge to take a chance and to get more. So having experience with both Nvidia and Intel what would you recommend?
@colibri_studios I would recommend picking up the A770 no problem. The issues people talk about more so are in relation to gaming and tbh I think I've had a minor issue with one game. It's the way to go.
The 4070 is obviously going to push much higher frame rates, but the A770 is at 100+ fps in most games. In terms of new games I haven't hit issues. They're much better at getting drivers out on time these days. In terms of older games I play stuff like Supreme Commander and Warzone 2100 without issue. There isn't one game I haven't been able to run that I could run on the 4070.
I am building a new pc.i am gonna take i5 14600kf.But should i consider taking ryzen 7 7700? Which would be better overall And which gpu should i take Rtx 4060/rx 7600 / arc 770 / Or should i take rx 7600 xt
@@GroundedTech my friend saying dont take arc it sucks, most people saying the same.Thats why im confused Or should i take take ryzen 5 7600 with rx 7700 xt? I will do other tasks along with gaming
@not_bilai665 I think most people would say it sucks due to the early issues and effectively being a newcomer. All depends on your budget, but that all Intel system will be rather excellent for other creative work in addition to gaming. That's what I would do right now personally but you have to go with what works best for you.
@@GroundedTech in my country I5 14600kf with rtx 4060 I5 14600kf with arc 770 Ryzen 7 7700 with 7700 xt Ryzen 5 7600 with 7700 xt All of these cost the same or similar . 7700 xt is much better gpu but intel's cpu is better( 4060 also has 8 vram which is bad) Which one of these combo should i take according to you? should i wait for battelmage for go with 770? i am doing 4k video editing with some fusion effects, on gaming, sometimes streaming with FHD gaming!!thank you!!
Hi, i'm from india building a creator pc for my self with i5 14600k initially thought of ARC A770 but the RX 7600xt 16gb beats A770 in most cases especially in Davinci ( Tech notice review) what do i do ? Go with A770 or should i think of RX 7600xt ???
Cheaper than Nvidia+mostly smooth experience+great gaming is AMD. I get rooting for Intel GPUs but it has been 2 yrs now and the quirkiness in a lot of scenarios is unacceptable
Should be a great upgrade. It's a great 1080p card. If for whatever reason you have issues with the drivers it's easy enough to sell on and get something else, but a lot in the replies to this video seem to be really happy.
@GroundedTech gotcha. I mean, my 2060 is still going strong, and I bought it used 2 years ago from eBay so I'm not like in a rush to upgrade. Just be nice to look at some options since Christmas is around the corner
@mrfluffygamer0 yeah wait if you can. I mean the new cards getting released should hopefully drop the prices of the current lot so more chance of you picking up a bargain.
Much better, over twice as good except maybe in some dx11 and 9 games. But you better run an intel cpu with it, cause it needs rebar to work well, unlike other gpus. If you are on a ryzen gpu, use nvidia or amd (but for nvidia don't go under a 4070 and try to get it for 500 bucks, if u can't find one that cheap, go amd with a 7900gre. These are the cards that run everything well enough and don't break the bank.
In my opinion, that might be not the common believe, are high end gpu´s highly overrated in nowadays gaming environment. People want the biggest and best, and be that just for bragging rights etc. (I mean let´s be honest, people don´t buy a 4090 to be future proof, those will probably grab a 5090 the moment it becomes available and be it just to get 300 fps where they previously "only" had 240) But not everyone needs or wants to play any title at 4k+ with anything maxed out. And for anyone at 1440 or 1080 a mid range gpu is pretty much all you ever need to play the games you want with setting turned to high or above. Add some upscaling and you are set. The A770 can´t really compete on performance level with nvidia or even amd´s high end cards, but it´s quite some value for the price point AND i would bet that for 95% of the playerbase the performance is still more then they actually need. Intel did some great work on the drivers. In a way the a770 seems to be what the rx 580 was back in the day when it came out. Fast enough, good price and just a great value package. I hope they will also enter the laptop market with battlemage. Could really use some shakeup as nvidia has this pretty much fully in it´s grip, sure amd offers "something" there but the options are so limited they might not even be there.
@@GroundedTech The one thing that intel is currently still a bit lacking at is backwards compatibility with older dx titles. As you mentioned you may experience some issues there which for people that mainly play those games is downer. But then again, you could use an older pc or build a very cheap one for those games (it´s not that you would ever be required to upgrade that as the titles aren´t going to increase in hardware demand). I assume supreme commander would even run damn well on a micro pc 8945hs with radeon 780m integrated gpu.
@@GroundedTech yes, it depends on why the driver crashed and how long it takes to recover, if it can at all, sometimes the windows generic driver will take back over. From what I understand the ARC drivers are not mature enough to be fully compatible with all games which is why I haven't bought one of their cards yet. I would suggest trying a prior release driver and see if you can replicate the problem.
@@GroundedTech Another thing I would recommend before going that far is to lower your monitors refresh rate to 60Hz just to eliminate any driver instability due to output frequency from the driver.
@@GroundedTech Glad it seems to have fixed the problem you had. The big question is when intel releases their next gen cards how much support are they going to provide the prior gen. I guess we will see
For what? It wasn't that in depth a video. Was only giving my thoughts on it over the last three months. If I do something more in depth and dare I say it "scientific" then I will do just that.
It comes in black and white. It's on Amazon and other sites including their own. I love it. So simple to set up. Solid dynamic with good enough sound. Looks fantastic too. Can't complain.
I have an A770, and it's been flawless for me. I don't play a big variety of games so I'm sure there are some titles out there with driver issues, but I personally have had nothing but good experiences with it. I look forward to seeing what Battlemage brings to the table.
Yeah same for me essentially. Thanks for the comment. Always good to see more positive experiences.
Have a ARC770 too und same no Problems.
It's honestly one of the most stable platforms I've ever owned.
🔥
Same. Love mine actually.
i don’t like nvidia’s greedy prices. so buying A770 is smart. I like how the 6750XT is only $300
Agreed. We should buy something other than Nvidia where possible. Fortunately the A770 is quite good.
I bought the A770 on day one. It was rough but my god I love it. Does amazing transcoding for my Plex and consistently runs 4k games over 100fps. Make some minor tweaks to my graphics settings in game and I can max my monitor out.
That's great.
Managed to snag a Acer A770 16GB model for $250 which is a steal for the massive amount of VRAM it has!
Now that's a bargain.
Did the same Price but with a game with it!!
Ok well that's even better then! 😅
Same! I'm waiting for it to show up, but having used an a750 prior, I'm stoked.
Nice little upgrade for you then! Haha nice one.bthe Sparkle card looks good.
It's been now 9 months with my ARC A770 16GB at 1440p, i have to say i'm pretty surprised with the performance in gaming, especially with Xess. I didn't really have any problems in my games and it's quite fun to see the evolution of this card with the updates
That's great. You gonna look at getting Battlemage once it releases?
@@GroundedTech Definitely! I just hope they fix the consumption at idle, 40w it's a bit high 🤣
@TheManXL just a tad lol
I have a 3060 12gb, looking to upgrade but not a big fan of the 40s pricing
I'm torn between a 7800xt and a770, I play 1440p what kind of performance do you get?
@n_churches if you can afford to get the 7800 XT I'd go for that as it will perform better and still have less issues.
That's really solid. That A380 is quite the budget champ.
@@GroundedTechis screen blank problem cleared for u or not and arc 770 vs rx 7600xt vs 3060 for video editing. Pls help
I'm interested in trying Intel BMG-10 when that drops. As long as the price to performance stays similar to the alchemist line.
Fingers crossed that it does. I'll be picking it up all being well.
thank you bro! i was really duding if id buy an acer arc a770 and u cleared all my doubts
Let me know how you get on.
Yeah that's a good point. I should try replacing the HDMI cable.
not surprised.
They should be a major player that's for sure.
Bro how dose it perform on Primer pro, Davinci resolve, After effect?
I'm planning to A750 for productivity works
@Moonislam25 it has been flawless in Resolve for me.
@@GroundedTech did you tried after effect?
@Moonislam25 haven't used After Effects.
That's crazy isn't it.
So is the arc 770 a good card for my 1st build? How does it run with games like cyberpunk and starfield
@spaceboytv6. Like I said it depends. Haven't tried those two games I'm afraid but there may be people in the comments that have.
@@GroundedTech ok what u think about the 5090
@spaceboytv6. It's not out yet and it's complete overkill for most people. Not something I'd even consider buying.
I often edit 4K footage and it doesn't skip a beat tbh. Just started using Premiere Pro recently and it might be even smoother in that.
Currently have a 3070 and it’s been solid at 1440p, but I am definitely looking forward to battle mage. I was hesitant on the arc770, but I’ve seen their improvements with it: might make the switch if battle mage proves to be solid
Hopefully that would be a decent upgrade for you. All being well I'll have it at launch.
I just upgraded from the A770 to a 4070TS, yes, the ARC can play games at high res for it just doesnt have the processing power for graphical games without lowering the settings. No point in playing high res if you have to lower settings though.
I bought one back in December, returned it a few days later. It doesn't like older games, even roblox was pretty messed up.
That's a shame. I've had few issues with older games. Can't comment on Roblox as I've never played it.
That's fantastic to hear. Just got to hope Intel keeps pushing on with Arc because I think they could do well with it.
That A380 is such good value.
Great stuff.
I have had my a770 for 9 months or so. 2 big problems for me are lack of occulus support and doesn't work well with switch emulators.
Fair shout. 👍🏻
I have an Intel NUC with A770M and I am really happy with it. I actually play games on Ubuntu and so far pretty solid experience.
I swapped out my ARC yesterday 🫣
i just got the Sparkle Arc A770 Titan OC Edition 16GB what a card so underrated
The Sparkle looks great.
Nvidea making you pay for features? no way!
I honestly can't stand the things they do lol
That might be Da Vinci Software
Possibly
Not sure if it's TV or card
Great card for the price, just check if there are issue with you game or program before buying.
Good info. Yeah it seems to be these little things now but for a super casual with no PC knowledge it could be a problem.
Thanks for the comment.
i bought A770 LE then moved my pc to other place...bought rtx 3080 10gb builded a pc...then...i gaved pc with rtx 3080 to dad and bring back my A770 LE pc and as a second pc waiting for Battlemage :D but the most funny part rtx build have intel cpu but ARC uh umm...5800X (1CCD) and if comes to computing tasks or upscaling images absolutely no match for that it catches 3080 in computing task but really specific ones actually but it has more vram and pics are in higher quality btw black screens are related to or can be related to displayport especially if pc goes to sleep then it might happen if that was the problem
Will you upgrade soon?
Just got the acer a770 for £184 from Currys and it's brilliant! video editing on the a770 is way better than the rtx 3060 12gb card.
That's quite the bargain. Very happy for you 👏🏻
Thanks for making the video! I've been torn between an a770 and an rtx 4060 bc everyone keeps telling me the 4060 is better for gaming and video editing/3d modelling. This cleared it all up. Thanks!
I'm really glad that it helped. All the best.
I have also the Biforst ARC 770, and it's probably the best value for the work\games that I play. Combined with a Ryzen 7 7700 and 64Gig of DDR5, it's way better than anything I had before. I do everything in QHD and for that it's just perfect
Glad to hear that!
Pro* gamer.
That's great. Glad it worked out for you.
@@GroundedTech Yup it did. Infact recently baught a A750 for an budget Build for my office to be paired with 14500.
@techiepets that's great. I unfortunately developed further issues with my A770 so I just had to sell it. Kinda gutted as I liked it otherwise.
The only game I have issues with my a770 is star citizen. Other games, it runs like a champ. Low temps at 2.4ghz. I am upgrading to a 12600k because I can use arc control unless the cpu is 12th gen or newer.
Which CPU you running now?
ive been in and out of pcpartpicker trying to think up any potential new builds or upgrades for my current desktop. I've been considering the a750 or a770 but I also want to wait and see how the battlemage gpus are priced. hopefully intel doesnt have an nvidia moment.
I think Battlemage will need some driver updates initially. I expect more issues again from the start but maybe just not as bad this time round.
good job on trying intel gpus! also, i think your channel would get better views if you put background music in it. anyways great video!
I always mean to but sometimes I'm not too fussed about the music. Find it distracting myself.

Nice. Hope it works well for you.
I'd give it a go. I miss my Vega 56 though! 😁
@@GroundedTech yeah no complaints from me, it's done everything i've asked of it.
Great to hear. The Sparkle card looks nice.
Nvidia has become ridiculous specially with crypto and now AI. $600 for a 4070 and it's only 30% faster than my 3070. No, I'm tryuing Intel next time
Hopefully Battlemage is more stable with less issues.
I have just got myself a A770 too replace my gtx1080 it turns up this week i cant wait.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
That's a nice upgrade.
I am eyeballing the Intel Arc A770. Thanks for this valuable info.
No problem. I've been seeing some silly deals on them lately so keep your eyes peeled 👍🏻
That's interesting. Thanks. I think we have a habit of buying far more than we need. Like you say it does the job quite nicely.
Lol

@lynnjr457 thank you. I'll definitely take that advice into consideration 😄
My biggest sadness with my A770 is there's no official VR support. Currently looking after a used Quest or Pico so I can play VR through Virtual Desktop. Otherwise I've enjoyed my experience and look forward to trying future Intel GPUs.
Let's hope they bring support with Battlemage!
The a770 has really become a powerful card drivers have helped a lot
For sure. For the price it's difficult to beat.
@@GroundedTech I remember back when Alan wake 2 came out the game ran horrible on my a770 but I went back like 2 months ago and they game runs amazing now and I play at 1440p
Awesome. That's really good to hear.
Nice one. I nearly went for the Sparkle.
Running a 7800x3d and arc a770 no regret for the last year
Banging setup.
Glad i went with 7800xt nitro +
And
Clevo pe60 i9 13900h 4070 140w mobile.
Still a 770 is a great 1080p / 1440 card for the price.
Also this model is hard to get right now.
Nice. Honestly the main reason I didn't go AMD was because the 7800XT wasn't available at the time.
At the moment they are around the same price as RTX 3060/4060 on Amazon AU. $470UAD
Bargain price. Can be had cheaper too.
oh if ytou want to fix the driver crash, it's related to various programs with really shitty sound paths.
Interesting. I'll take a look at that. Thanks!
Nvidia really needs to cut their prices in half.
Would be nice, but they'll only cut prices if people stop buying their GPUs.
That sounds like an interesting build!
@Demonoid1990 would love to see it when finished.
i moved to a770 16gb also. awesome card stable but issues with gaming. came across this video digging for more info with HOLO OS v3 for assetto corsa/ content manager and competizione, civ6 beamNG. for win 11 beta os, i ran reshade 6.1, lossless scaling. for the wierd screen issues, i kinda traced it to th gpu switiching between iGPU and dGPU output even if iGPU is disabled in bios. love the card and its going toage well. it will get better drivers as we go into Intel Arc gen2. Xess works but my games are DX10/11 so not the best for frame rates but i still try to hit 100-160fps for my 3840x1600 160hz monitor LG38n960
Excellent comment thanks.
Team blue here as well, I got the A750 Sparkle, works great.
The Sparkle cards are cool looking. Glad it's working out for you.
@nickvirgili2969 yeah it's tricky. Can only try it and see what happens.
Don't fall into Adobe's trap by buying their products, you will regret it@@GroundedTech
Fair play... I'd want to see the performance in Blender before I pull the trigger though...
I've never touched Blender tbh 😅
I've never bought a GPU, haven't messed around PC in over 20 years since I was a teen, just been laptops. Now I am looking to build one and I am seriously considering Intel ARC platform. I am well aware of the issues but I can very much see the DIRECTION it is going, and I feel to be apart of that. I will mostly be doing video editing anyway, some casual gaming IF i have the time, and I what I would play this card already supports.... GTAV, and I want to be ready for GTAVI!!
Sounds ideal. I've no idea how well GTA VI will run but I guess that's a bridge to cross at the end of next year.
Let's just hope, the new upcoming battlemage will have great price per Performance which will make a great shift to the GPU Market, i have heard that Intel is really serious about it, which is a good thing for us customer.
We definitely need more of it.
Competition is good. There’s literally no reason for corporations to exist if they aren’t being forced to compete against each other. There are positives and negatives to it, just like anything else in the market. It just is what it is.
For sure.
8 extra vram from the a770!!! Lets go!!! Im definitely get this card for my first pc build
I think it's a good value card for a first build. Just be wary of occasional driver issues. AMD would be more straightforward.
its successfully being potrayed as if im the one who should wait, which is the biggest sadness
Instead of using your gaming computer with the a770 , use something else , record in hevc with your cpu , then transfert the recorded file to a computer using the a770 , that will allow you to have high encoding speed without problems
However , streaming in av1 might not work , but if i remember well , you can use an other computer to record your main computer screen ?
Personaly , as someone that save a lot of anime/tv show , having a 2nd computer with this gpu is amazing , its way faster than a rtx4090 at encoding and it cost 5x less
That's an option for people running two PCs. But that's not most people.
Streaming in AV1 works great on UA-cam. Looking forward to trying it on Twitch at some stage.
@@GroundedTech what i mean is thzt , while using the inten gpu fpr recoding and no plzying , you xill nd zble to use both av1epencore diving and no lag

If I sold a rtx 4070 super for intel arc a770 would be heart broken till rtx 5070
🥲
I would wait for the next generation arc cards, i think it will come i big performance boost, with the next cards!!
Of course. That will come at a price too though. There are some great deals on these cards right now worth looking at.
@@GroundedTech Yes, they rae cheap but my card right now is alot faster then the A770, i will wait for the next cards, should be this year, in september.
@Nockspielt makes sense to wait if you have something faster anyway. But in all honesty will you NEED to upgrade? 😄
@@GroundedTech I have the RTX 2080Ti, and yes the card handles everthing pretty well, ultra at 2k. But some games ishe strougles a little bit.
@Nockspielt that's fair. Next generation should be a decent time to upgrade.
im thinking about joining team blue my self the 16 gb A770 is pretty cheap for a 16gb card and i have a feeling the next gen games are going to require 12gb since the ps5 pro mid gen upgrade is 12gb of vram and the ps6 will be faster then the ps5 pro maybe by 30% so it makes sense people are going to be upgrading to 12gb cards.
i say get a cheap 16gb card now to future proof for next gen.
16gb will definitely be worth having going forward.
My 3060ti is in my old system..
The a770 16 gb rocks!
Both very good for a solid gaming system!
Naaah wtf is this for clickbait :P And I think I did see you post about this for a while on twitter right? Solid vid ;) Glad you made a video again! And seems so far, performs well! GG!
Yes mate thanks. Finally got something out eh 😅
Well, I'm building my PC with 12600k with DDR5 and I want a graphics card that will age well. Can you recommend one?
I think either the A770 or if you want more grunt go for the 7800 XT.
Go 4060/4070 if you really need those extra features.
@@GroundedTech The thing is that I have 300 dollars and I want to know which is the best option for that price, the ARC 770 or which other one.
A 4060 maybe as the other option. But I think an A770 with 16gb RAM is the way to go though.
@@GroundedTech What do you think about the Rx 7600 xt vs ARC a770, which would you choose?
@eltiopoder I'd still go for the A770 personally, which I did of course.
Predator's BiFrost GPUs look absolutely amazing. Even the RX 7600 from AMD looks great.
It's certainly a looker. Acer is underrated on design.
What is to say that the card was the issue with you lockups, I have had no issues at all
Because I ran the system with an Nvidia card before and it never happened.
Just because I've had these issues doesn't mean others will of course.
Anyone tried ARC A770 in Davinci Resolve or/and Adobe Premiere Pro? What is the actual performance? Does it worth buying for video editing tasks?
It's really good is all I can say. Used it in Premiere Pro a lot recently as part of my new job. It has been perfect.
It's the way to go.
how is the A770 versus the 4070 for gaming? old and new games
@@GroundedTech neat. Thanks for the info. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

I've had that card for three weeks, good so far

And which gpu should i take
Rtx 4060/rx 7600 / arc 770 /
Or should i take rx 7600 xt

@@GroundedTech my friend saying dont take arc it sucks, most people saying the same.Thats why im confused
Or should i take take ryzen 5 7600 with rx 7700 xt?
I will do other tasks along with gaming
@not_bilai665 I think most people would say it sucks due to the early issues and effectively being a newcomer.
All depends on your budget, but that all Intel system will be rather excellent for other creative work in addition to gaming.
That's what I would do right now personally but you have to go with what works best for you.
@@GroundedTech in my country
I5 14600kf with rtx 4060
I5 14600kf with arc 770

Which one of these combo should i take according to you? (I can upgrade my cpu in some years if i take ryzen right cuz of am5 after atleast 5 years)
@not_bilai665 I would probably go 7700 + 7700 XT
Why you have 70 C only on BiFrost Edition ? Mine goes to 80+ degrees on heavy load :( it's 2480MHz
Maybe to do with ambient temperatures etc. Weather wasn't very warm when I recorded this.
I really like the overly 2:50
Yeah it's part of the Predator Bifrost software. The default Intel ARC overlay is not much different.
should i wait for battelmage for go with 770? i am doing 4k video editing with some fusion effects, on gaming, sometimes streaming with FHD gaming!!thank you!!
The A770 will do you nicely. I'm doing all the same other than the Fusion Effects. Will save you time and a lot of money too.
@@GroundedTech thank you so much!!
@user-cx6rg6mr7d you got it 👍🏻
Nvidia drivers sometimes have blackouts.
True. On the Arc it happens a LOT more.
I can't comment on that in all honesty as I haven't looked at the 7600XT much. But AMD will likely be more stable anyway.
Cheaper than Nvidia+mostly smooth experience+great gaming is AMD.
I get rooting for Intel GPUs but it has been 2 yrs now and the quirkiness in a lot of scenarios is unacceptable
This stuff takes time. It's fine if it isn't for you though. I'd be buying AMD otherwise.
Arc a770 is a smart choice when on a budget.
Absolutely.
I'm tempted to switch to arc from my 2060 non super. Would you consider it a good upgrade? My cpu is 5600x and i play 1080p
Should be a great upgrade. It's a great 1080p card. If for whatever reason you have issues with the drivers it's easy enough to sell on and get something else, but a lot in the replies to this video seem to be really happy.
@GroundedTech would it best to wait for the new line ups or go ahead and pull the trigger on a 770? Cause they're still $300 new for 16gb models
You could wait for the new ones tbh. I would expect those to need some issues ironing out early on.

Davinci Resolve great. I have no idea about the rest sorry.
@@GroundedTech Its ok, Thanks 💜
4060 or A770 in competitive fps gaming?
I'd probably go Nvidia just for driver reliability
I'm using AMD RX570 8GB and would love to upgrade to A770. Do you think it is a good upgrade?
Very good upgrade.
@Cenzurat I have Rebar enabled on my system.
I had the 580 with an i7 8700k. The 770 was a major upgrade.
@dannyjackhammers as it should be. Cheers for the comment 👍🏻
Is it worth upgrade from rtx 2070 super to arc 770
I would say so.
Ill buy an ATI Rage 128 for my daily pc before I would ever give Nvidia a dime.
🔥😄
am need advice between a580 and a770. am just play dota 2 with 1080p 60Hz monitor. my main concern is about premiere pro, what the best for it?
You should be fine with either option.
@@GroundedTech thanks. in my country a580 way more cheaper than a770. the price a580 is half a770.
Sounds like a really good deal. It should still work a treat in Premiere Pro.
In my opinion, that might be not the common believe, are high end gpu´s highly overrated in nowadays gaming environment. People want the biggest and best, and be that just for bragging rights etc. (I mean let´s be honest, people don´t buy a 4090 to be future proof, those will probably grab a 5090 the moment it becomes available and be it just to get 300 fps where they previously "only" had 240)
But not everyone needs or wants to play any title at 4k+ with anything maxed out.
Can't disagree on most of that. I'm really hoping Battlemage is decent.
@snakeplissken1754 tbh Supreme Commander runs great. I'm yet to find a game that gives me any major issues.
That black screen and hanging thing is a graphics driver crash
Even if it's momentary? It can happen during a game and the game doesn't crash.
@Bill_1983 good to know. I had an update recently and it hasn't happened again since.
I guess we will see
Free av1 on everything but Nvidia that can't be legal that's discrimination
