I think either the A770 or if you want more grunt go for the 7800 XT. Go 4060/4070 if you really need those extra features.

A 4060 maybe as the other option. But I think an A770 with 16gb RAM is the way to go though.

If they try to go after the iPhone/Galaxy crowd they will definitely die off. Having that niche is what kept them going. I have another video coming soon for this phone. I'll be moving on from it even though I like it as a phone.

@@GroundedTech I believe going a bit more mainstream, not necessarily with the specs and features but with the marketing and branding, will do wonders for Sony mobile. They should develop a better auto camera app, but they should keep the pro apps as is for that crowd. No need to throw them out, they're already developed very well! Sony phones have to do with headphones and the 3.5 jack that most phones now ditch. Bring back the Walkman branding for it and release a special black and orange edition. They have the PS division. They should work with them to have certain features to enjoy when paired with a PS console etc. There are myriads of things Sony can do to turn this around, yet they don't. They have customers in other divisions that if their phones were paired with they would be much better in both quality and features which would translate to sales. Sony is the only company not exploiting their strengths properly and why it's a frustrating experience being their customer.

@Ak1r0 that's the thing that irked me most, removing the Pro apps altogether. And honestly I really love using the 1 VI day to day. Just wish they had done more with the telephoto.

The 4070 is obviously going to push much higher frame rates, but the A770 is at 100+ fps in most games. In terms of new games I haven't hit issues. They're much better at getting drivers out on time these days. In terms of older games I play stuff like Supreme Commander and Warzone 2100 without issue. There isn't one game I haven't been able to run that I could run on the 4070.

Because I ran the system with an Nvidia card before and it never happened. Just because I've had these issues doesn't mean others will of course.

It's a good phone other than the overheating issues.

I think it's three years. Not entirely sure so worth checking. So there's at least two to go. In all honesty Android versions don't change that much currently.

I've been in a similar mind tbh. I was thinking about camera and I do already have a Lumix G100, but the thing for me is that when I'm taking pictures it's often at random times when I wouldn't have a camera with me, so I always lean towards phone. The Xperia this year just isn't as good as it should be, partly hardware and software (my review is coming soon). If I were to buy a phone it would be either the Xiaomi 14 Ultra or an import like the Vivo X100 Ultra or Oppo Find X7 Ultra. There should be more options in the next few months so I would maybe wait and see what comes along.

There's an amazing choice with phone's these day's and yes they all have awesome cameras attached to them but a £1k is a lot of money to put down on a phone that'll be outta date in 6 months. I honestly believe I maybe heading towards a compact camera like a Sony rx100 or similar. Easy to pocket and better quality photograph's. Less chance of it going out of date as quick as phones do.. What I'm doing is running something as my daily driver phone like a Pixel or my incoming Moto Razr 50 and then having the other phone in the other pocket for photography. Will be importing something soon to see how that goes 😄

Yeah the rattle is the OIS. Get it on many phones.

It could also be the telephoto because it's a moveable lens.

It's really good is all I can say. Used it in Premiere Pro a lot recently as part of my new job. It has been perfect.

@colibri_studios you can hear it whir up a little bit when you start the render otherwise it's fine. The card does use more power when idle compared to other cards but the fans don't go crazy. Multiple power modes help. Performance has been nothing short of stellar. AV1 encode is excellent. However what I would say is if you want it for AV1 you can get a cheap A380 for that work and it would do nearly as good a job on a fraction of the price. A750 a great option if you want extra chops for gaming. Having the A770 with 16gb RAM is nice though.

Yes, well I hear a lot that 8Gb of VRAM is already not enough for tasks like color grading and noise reduction in Davici Resolve so I thought 16Gb of VRAM is what a video editor must have. Among the 16Gb GPUs A770 has no competitors in its price range for sure. Even way more expensive 4060TI 16Gb shows pretty disappointing performance and 4070 12 Gb I simply can't afford. So I figured that A770 would be a good compromise for my work and some future proof. It's just some part of me is still scared with all those negative comments - people complain about drivers instability and that the product is still raw. So some part of me still wants just to get a 4060 and not to worry about such things. But in the same time I feel a challenge to take a chance and to get more. So having experience with both Nvidia and Intel what would you recommend?

@colibri_studios I would recommend picking up the A770 no problem. The issues people talk about more so are in relation to gaming and tbh I think I've had a minor issue with one game. It's the way to go.

Hi there. Thanks. It was using the S-Cinetone colour profile which does make it look more that way. I'm taking the phone away on a trip soon and will have a more in depth review afterwards including more footage in the standard profile. Hopefully the new camera app update and Android 15 aren't far away.

@@GroundedTech Like you, I wasn't ready to take the plunge on the Intel's at the time of buying my AMD and NVIDIA cards. After I had those in place, it was less of an issue to "take the risk" on the A7790 and it worked out for me. I am quietly waiting for Battlemage, if they are half the card I am hoping they are, I will replace the AMD and NVIDIA cards. I would do it now, but I really want to see the Battlemages first.

They will give me almost nothing for my 2023 even though I bought it in October. The new one has a better hinge and display and some other features. Oh well, I'm okay with this 2023. Take care.

All depends on what you want to prioritise. If you want the best point and shoot camera around with a bunch of AI shenanigans and solid hardware then the Pixel is a great shout. If cameras aren't your thing and you just want a good communicator device that's more compact and fancy looking then something like the Razr 50/50 Ultra are worth looking at. Wouldn't advise the Z Flip series just because the outer screen seems less useful. Razr far nicer to use in general.

Lumia 1520 👑 If you do get a Razr my honest advice would be to get the Razr 40 Ultra or either of the new 50 models. Will be much better and last much longer too.

Yeah it's frustrating, but I at least had a 100W charger to use! It's even more frustrating when it's such a great feature for someone picking one up for the first time. It's a lot of phone for the price.

That's an option for people running two PCs. But that's not most people. Streaming in AV1 works great on UA-cam. Looking forward to trying it on Twitch at some stage.
