    TT:120 is an alternative to N Gauge which I think many people find is too small for their eyesight. It is good that Hornby have introduced this range, and we can only hope that they stay with it and do not lose their nerve about continuing to produce it! Thanks for uploading.

    My dad build me a TT train in the 1970's it was produced in east Germany, but had to leave it behind when we
    escaped communist east Germany in 1979 and moved to the US where I still reside today. Many fond
    memories of my Dad and I working on it. Thanks for the refresher in these memories.

    Hi Simon, I agree it’s a cracking model, just a shame they didn’t make more use of the acres of space inside the body, like fitting a flywheel as per the illustration in the instruction leaflet. I’ve still pre-ordered the other two though 😂

      Yes a great little model, and I do like the look of the DB livery one. Thanks for watching 🚂

    For me Simon, this is the only loco in TT that I would br interested in. Hornby have gone for the past, how do they think the younger generation (I am 62) would want take to a couple of old Kettles A3-4's (stuck in the past) as a in sight to railway modeling is behond me! At one show Milton Keynes my friends son asked Simon about modern locos for TT and was given a very hard shoulder by Simon, not great for his company (Hornby) but also a few people walked away.

      According to the roadmap in the magazines and brochures modern will be catered for. The rollout process was outlined pretty well I thought. My problems just the ridiculous prices these days. I'm hoping Amazon get hold of a load of Hornby stuff and start shifting it on prime, as thats the only way I'll be parting with cash to get my kids a tt120

      100% agree. I asked this question on Saturday in Milton Keynes and the Hornby person tried to ignore me. He didn’t succeed but was useless. These prices are ridiculous.

    Intriguing to see that £80 is considered good value, primarily due to it being £118 RRP... this despite it coming direct from Hornby. i mean it looks great but, no flywheel, and no sprung buffers, youd probably expect more for that money if you're honest. The detail does look great on tt120 but lets not immediately forget that Simons original vision was to allow families with less room to buy into the hobby and at these prices that just doesn't seem to tie up imo.

    Nice model train there. I mostly do N gauge and now back onto OO gauge in limited form as I do now have another loop of Kato UniTrack with the new style controller.

    Ran my 08 for about 9 hours on garden railway with no problem using bachmann dc controller. Only slight problem was i cant put a driver in there as the detail cab kit is stuck in. Mine also stuck on the hornby points on Acton Wells but these not wired up yet so not worried,

    Hi Simon. The layout is looking great. I love the hill and tunnel. As for the Shunter. It does look nice. But I think the price is a bit of a rip off considering it is mostly plastic. I do hope Hornby at some point allow their TT range to be sold at other retailers.

    • @SimonsShed
      @SimonsShed  Рік тому +1

      Yes hope they let the shops stock TT 120 soon 👍

    • @_RandomPea
      @_RandomPea Рік тому

      Wouldn't hold your breath, plus the pricing would be higher in the shops wouldn't it? Or would Hornby just take less profit from each sale 😂?

      @@_RandomPea think they’ve already allowed the retailers to stock it haven’t they? Not sure on the prices 💰

    TT : 120 seems a nice size to model. But I have been OO gauge for over 50 years. N gauge is great too. But OO I go on :o) . Regards Al ...

    One thing about hornby that I bought a week ago and I was not impressed at all. I got refund so it was good for a trial. There is no variety of the steam locos, becuae they have mostly the same body and case just different paint or little modifications one thinggood about hornby that they use tillig issued couplers in contrast to roco.
