Yes and wow.. its great for prestyler too thankyou.. its great.. ads volume and hold.. your review is spot on .. try aveda thickening tonic for pre styler.. it adds more movement and separation for more natural look and adds hold and volume / thicken hair too.. in my hair its even greater than this matte paste for the prestyler.. but no doubt for the post styler this Odouds matte paste is one of the best products I ever used.. its so versatile and light also
hey man, sorry for the delayed reply - as always it depends on how long your hair is. Us fine hair guys struggle to maintain volume with longer hair. if your hair is under 5inches you should have no problem. And you can run your hands through your hair
Hello my friend, can i use only that? I dont wanna use a pre styler or use that as a pre styler. Just use only that for my hair, it's enough for make good haircut?
This one is one of my main product beside arcadian clay, but sometimes i like arcadian more , both gave easy application and hold in the same time. But i havent try it as a pre styler lol, and which one you like more , matte paste or mm styling balm?
It depends if you hair is thick or fine. If your hair is fine, regardless of what product you use - you will struggle to maintain volume but if your hair is thick - you might get away with using this product.
Does anyone have any issues with getting white specs when using the matte paste as a post styler? No matter what I do, I keep getting these white specs and my hair doesn't look so good after.
I was told to not emulsify the matte paste too much. I was told to apply it while it's still like a lotion. I just rub through my hands just to spread it then put in my hair.
to be honest I struggle to get nice texture in my fine hair, especially on the day that I have washed it. But daimon barber's texture clay, blumaan's cavalier clay and morris motley styling balm work decently well. I have reviews of all 3 on my channel
thanks:)i cant really figure out what my hair type is, thick, thin or coarse and have a lot of difficulty finding products with texture.hopefully u'll make a vid abt hair types soon!
I have used both and MM Styling Balm is way better IMO. For MM you gotta use a light shampoo and conditioner the day before you use it. I hated O'Douds.
It is expensive but I'd rather have 1 good expensive product versus a bunch of cheaper stuff that isn't good. 1 jar of MM is good enough to last me almost entire year. So it's not too bad. Have you tried Nothern Lights by Shear Revival? It's another Matt Paste...I hope it's better than O'Douds. I just ordered it.

Will this hold fine hair up all day without hair spray? Also can you run your hand through it without ruining the style?

Strand and Thread yeah I plan on getting a short textured quiff, about 3 inches on top, so this should work great. Thanks for your help!

I got Morris Motley after Matte Paste. And I have to say I like Matte Paste a lot more. I have fine hair like you.
Yeah it really works for us brothers with fine hair! Do you use it for pre and post?
Strand and Thread I don't blow dry :p
@@jamesh5496 idiot
How is the application process like? I seem to be the only person who finds it pretty sticky and tacky as a post-styler
Yeah it can be a little tacky as a post styler, hence why I use it more for pre styling
I agree with both of you
Cedar is a type of wood btw. Great review!

duuuude such a tough one but for me Matte Paste is the winner because of price too
wow thanks man, i will stick to my mate paste then
Is the hold higher than morris motley? Also which gives you a softer finish and which is more reworkable throughout the day?
Both have similar hold, maybe Odouds has slightly more - and MM is far more reworkable in my opinion
WHat have been your favore hair products? I have fine hair myself so your recommendations would be awesome
Hey man u use it as a pre styler but does it have heat protection?
To be honest I think the whole heat protection thing is a bit of a marketing ploy. Not sure it actually works? #myopinion
Niceee food for thought!

Comparing with Hybrid Cream Clay, which one would you refer to buy as a post-styler?
Depends what you after? Easy application and style or great hold?
great hold?
Matte Paste has better hold for me ey - also its overall a better product in my opinion
Got it
Does it comparable with Mp beeswax paste?
well they both can be used as prestylers so yes one could compare them
I have pretty long hair will it work well for me?
How long is pretty long mate?
Strand and Thread the front of my hair goes down to my lips and the back gets slightly shorter

which one better the matte paste or the pomade? for sleek high hold style
Does anyone have any issues with getting white specs when using the matte paste as a post styler? No matter what I do, I keep getting these white specs and my hair doesn't look so good after.
really dude? And you are emulsifying properly ey?

I think someone fed you the wrong info my man
Vu Pham yeah that’s definitely the reason why you get white specks
Plot twist: it’s dandruff
hows the texture?
not particularly amazing if I'm honest as it has quite a dry finish
any products to recommend when it comes to texture?

Hi, can this paste be used as a pre styler? Thanks
I have used both and MM Styling Balm is way better IMO. For MM you gotta use a light shampoo and conditioner the day before you use it. I hated O'Douds.
But MM is also way more expensive...that price tag is hard to ignore. IMO Odouds is a good substitute

@@MTN117 my experience with northern its weigh down my hair and low hold

Now I'm thinking twice if I should buy it lol
haha sorry!
from the minimal content of the product actually being applied to the hair and pics of before and after etc, it still doesnt look matte...
Dude i know u maybe hear this alot but as someone that used to have an eating disorder, you need to eat more.
