@@MMTV Haha I'm always keeping my eye on your Instagram, I'm thinking about getting this product as well as Glory Tale and definitely Gray Ghost when it comes out on the 21st
Hello guys! Thanks so much for checking out my latest review I really hope you guys enjoy it! Also for those interested keep an eye out on the next episode of Slikhaar TV & Friends Ill be making an appearance! :)
I very new to the pomade world. I would always use gel from Target or whatever my wife had (hairspray). My very first "pomade" was Nevermore which I got a few months back. I'm down to my very last few scoops so I went ahead and purchased Arcadian Matte Paste. And I have to say, this matte paste was like Nevermore but on steroids. I just felt it gave double the amount of volume, twice more matte and a little bit more hold. Very dry compared to Nevermore though. I also noticed Arcadian leaves your hair softer and not as oily as Nevermore. Just my thoughts. Thanks, love your videos! I'm hooked.
Great review as usual. I literally JUST picked up O’douds matte paste, which I’ve had my eye on for a while now. But seeing this perform, and a discount code as well is really tempting me to purchase Arcadian’s Matte now.
You need to review the newest refornulations of Arcadian's stuff as well as their new and limited "HOLY SHIITAKE" Texture Paste and their Arcadian Texture Spray both are great. The Texture Spray is actually my favorite prestyling spray by far. And yes the Clay Pomade was reformulated again. They sent me a lab jar tester of their newest recipe and I loved it. This was only about 2 months ago.
@@MMTV l only own two matte pastes, I tried ODouds Matte Paste and Monarch matte paste, and I wanted to try out these three if i can. But something that has an easier application if possible
killer vid Mike. Just wanted to add sth on Cavalier vs this matte paste, which is the wash out. Cavalier is an oil based clay and indeed leaves some “build up” like a typical oil based or waxy pomade, so the wash out is certainly turn some heads around to the Arcadian MP instead. But having tried Cavalier myself, i can see where you’re going with a “sharper” style and definitely seconds this, cause Cavalier gives some crazy stickiness and grit that basically kills a lot of stray hairs and frizz. I’d go for the Arcadian MP personally for the ez wash out alone.
I get it for sure! if you feel like one or the other would work better for you then go for that! For me the washout on Cavalier is just fine tho I actually wore it yesterday and washed it out this morning before beginning an endurance test on Grey Ghost and it was out with shampoo as usual no issues at all. Rinsing with water is nice for me but I never go without shampooing so thats not a big deal to me.
This or Cavalier?? Real though, as soon as I saw the first demo in dry hair, the dryness, defined texture, and even the slight fuzziness all reminded me exactly of Cavalier Clay. Looking forward to trying this one out.
I was debating whether buying this or the Flagship Matte Paste or Northern Lights. But I just ordered a jar of this today Mike, I'm confident I made the right buy
Awesome review! Glad to hear someone’s opinion on this new product. Been waiting for it to drop forever. Question, I saw you did a review on Shear revival northern lights, could you do one on crystal lake? Possibly? Thanks! Really appreciate your amazing reviews.
I will one day do a shear revival brand showcase and ill touch on it then. I havent done a review on it as of now cuz it doesn't work that great for me.
Firstly, loving your reviews! You've helped me tons with my previous purchases so thank you! I am wondering whether I should get this matte paste, wax zero by vilain or clutch or clutch xl. I have stiff, straight, dry asian hair that dries out easily and looking for one that can tame the hair on the sides to stay down. They are all easy to wash off from the reviews I've watched. Thank you again!
Thanks so much! I just ran out of baxter clay pomade and loved it but its a little costly for the price. Is either of those 2 similar in terms of hold? Also, you said the smell is more toned down. I have the first arcadian clay formula but hate how strong it smells. Hopefully those 2 products don't smell in the hair
wyatt breymeymeyer yeah you guys with the curly hair and some with wavy hair are for sure the exception. I was mainly pointing at the folks who have hair like me that still choose to apply on damp hair cuz they just don’t want to blow dry or do dry hair ( lazy ) and then complain about things like texture or volume etc.
Hey Mike... I love the guys and products from Arcadian. They are super nice and I hate it when one of their products doesn’t work well for me. I don’t know if my hair is to long and heavy or is the paste to heavy for my hair. Any tips you can throw my way? I’m not cutting my hair. I’m trying a longer version of the undercut.
Hello, Mike. Thank you so much for your awesome reviews..By the way, if you had to choose one of the two products that you reviewed recently : Arcadian Matte Paste & By Vilain Wax Zero, which product would you recommend purchasing for better volume & better endurance? I would love to hear your point of view on this!
They aren't really in the same ballpark so I would choose both to use since I got different results on either. This one provides more texture and volume while the wax zero provide good solid hold and less in the other areas than this because it is not a clay. id check the demos for each one and see which one looks better to you and then get that one.
I'm confused why you are referring to it as a "clay" when it's marketed as a matte paste? There's been nothing to date that I could compare to cavalier at least in the clay world. Should this be marketed as a clay? I've used quite a few matte pastes and every one has dried my hair out to buggery. Is his a game changer. My next purchase was between the reformulated Arcadian clay pomade or this and went for the clay. Mistake? I'm just massively put off by how matte pastes dry up in my hair.
CloudSurfer821 it’s just the arcadian matte paste. Like I said in the video I don’t add anything else in my hair during the demos so that I can give the best look to you guys of the product and it’s effect in my hair.
my man, did u get a chance to check out the reformulated version of arcadians clay pomade yet? i was wondering if the new formulation makes a real difference in terms of hold. the old version was a bit too much of a medium hold for me. any information from your side?
Is this product a very heavy duty paste ? As you said it’s comparable to cavalier clay but cavalier does weigh my hair down after around 4-5 hours by alot somehow so I’m a little sceptical about this since my hair leans toward the Long and heavy yet in between thin and thick . Their reformulated clay pomade works wonders for my hair type though
As I said in the video it is a good strong product. I think its more hold than dry really but its really not possible for me to predict what it will do in your hair. You gotta decide if you think it will work for you or not. Thanks for watching
I do not want to be that guy but putting some small difference aside cavalier is $20 ish for 2.5 oz and the arcadian paste 17 ish for 4oz, the paste wins in my book XD
@ModernManTV: I don’t know if it’s too late for you to reply to this video, but what is your opinion abt using this product on fine but thick hair (as in fine hair texture, but lots of it). Your help would be greatly appreciated.
How is the new shear revival cream, does it have a good hold like a clay? Is it better than shear revivals other products? Will in work on all hair lengths?
FineResolve its a very different product than the clay Pomade. I don’t deal in what’s “better” I think they are both well made clay products that do what they are designed to do very well. They aren’t comparable and if they were they wouldn’t both be offered so they do different things and each do it very well.
They got the names wrong this and the clay pomade they should be backwards. Seriously the matte paste has more clay than the Clay Pomade wtf But I live both and the new formula for both is great. The matte best is even more like a heavy clay and the Clay Pomade is a lot like whipped high hold very matte clay paste
Nice review!!! Second comment. But When will you review Glory Tale ???
It hasn't arrived yet. Keep an eye on my IG stories I usually post my mail calls there.

Have you purchased? What is the difference in terms of restyling and hold? Smell?
Alexey Shevchenko i have not tried it because I recently found out my hair is thinning/balding. And I’m avoiding hair products. :(
Incorrecte Ingave still losing hair lol. I gave it to a cousin of mine. Never used it lol
Between the Arcadian Matte Paste and Flagship Matte paste, which should suit my thinning hair better?

Hey was the matte paste changed or only the clay?
Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but I get little hold, and not much texture… by end of day my hairy just looks greasy.
Can you do a review of the Shiner Gold Clay? I love the product, and I also wanna see a new review of the clay
On that note ...How would this compare to Anti Gravity by Lockhart's? Or the Flagship Matte Paste
Anthony Cedeno it’s not comparable to AG. And it’s easier to work with than flagship Matte Paste.
@@MMTV Would you prefer this over Northern Lights?
Anthony Cedeno yes I would but I recommend you determine what would be best for your hair

Hey Mike, and works well in thin hair?
Rubén Gómez it should but don’t use too much. To be safe I’d use the clay pomade :)
