Thank you for watching my video, I appreciate the support !
I admire the constant positive mood. Seems to me the harder the situation the more positive you get. What a job till the evening dark. Pure exhausted you must be teaching your audience like me. Much obliged, bye from Amsterdam
I cut out all the areas where I was upset and bad talking the bad engineering from chevy lol. This job definitely got frustrating 😑
You covered every step very well. They really didn't make any room for a mechanic to work. And for the starter to fail this early is shameful. Great work.
Yeah, I questioned if putting a oem starter on it is even the right call lol
Dude im learing about cars and you channel has been very helpful bro THnak you ...I'm change the front of my altima. after I saw your video THANK YOU so MUCH!!!!!
You're welcome. Glad you're learning something 👍
2 Mech a Nic videos in less than a week, Christmas came early 🤣
I'm trying to get content out there lol. Next video will be a long one on the crx
I love the cart. Tool storage during a job. I got one that held a tv at a church/school and it has the top shelf and 2 below. Holds plenty of tools and parts for a job.
It's new to me and I'm loving it. It makes tool clean up a breeze because before it was countless trips back n forth picking up tools off the ground. Now I just roll the cart with all my tools on it over to my tool box to put everything away.
That reminded me about when I was asked to change a starter on a 2015 Jeep Grand cherokee. Lol, you can't even see it from the bottom. I looked at some youtube videos and apologized to the customer and referred them to a shop. One guy in a youtube video said, "Don't even waste your time if you don't have a lift lol.
Ha! I've never done one of those but it's nice to know. This camaro is a job I would normally turn down and refer them to a shop but it's my neighbors car and before I knew it they were already dropping it off.
I just don't understand how a starter can fail at 39k miles. Especially when the car is rarely driven. GM quality huh? Smh This is yet another result why people buy Hondas and Toyotas all day long. Great work.
I agree, it's pathetic
6th gen Camaros have an issue with the starters heat soaking from the exhaust manifolds, poor ventilation makes em worst too
Good Job, That Tool Cart Is Cool, But It Would be Cooler If It Could Be Lower To The Ground So When Your Laying on The Ground You Could Still Reach Your tools.
Yeah I'm loving it. It's a new tool and that was my first time using it. I talked more about it in the video but I cut that out because I could see people getting annoyed that it has nothing to do with the repair. A few years ago my wife bought me a low profile tool cart with wheels. Great for putting tools on it while you're under a car . I don't use it often
Hahaha ..Loved the cut to, the catalytic converter with a cut off stud next to it after trying probably 10 different ways to extract them.
F!@#$ engineers.
Just ran into that 2 days ago trying to get my charcoal canister out.
Gotta love it😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮
I tried for a good while trying to extract the studs. It was nothing but a bunch of wasted time. Sometimes the cut off wheel is the only option lol
I hear that. Man's 2nd best friend. Lol
The next person who has go in there will thank me lol
My starter went out on my Mercedes at 194k and it was the original starter
That's damn good. My wife's altima is at 160k on the original starter 💪
@ that’s damn good. That’s why I’m always sticking with Mercedes like a newer model not a brand new
What a pia !! But good job jon ..
I cut out all the clips where I was cursing 🤬 lol
Dude how did you get the converter out? I chopped the studs and everything but i cant even get the space to drop the top part. it hits that sub frame
What tools did you need to replace it
What did you use to cut the cat studs?
Cut off wheel on my grinder.
1st yay 😊
Just take catalytic converter it's a pain but it's easier to get off
fyi bro camaros have a emergency latch as other cars , so if the battery dies all you had to do is pull a strap on the back seat , climb back to the trunk and pull the latch , it even glows in the dark and you can do all of this with no power
and all you have to do is loosen the bolts to the Headers and should allow justtttttt enough play to get the starter off , it’s half the work
Loosening exhaust manifold bolts did not look like less work to me but it seems you know more than I do.
@@themechanic6117 why are you so upset bro lol, just passing advice , and I prob do know more than you , literally EVERY Car made pass 2002 has EMERGENCY TRUNK RELEASE pull tab in the trunk
but here you are telling people they can’t open their trunks if the car has no power
oh and my method doesn’t require damaging a customers parts , that’s embarrassing 😮
I'm not upset, been making youtube videos for years. I've learned to not let comments get to me. You clearly do know more than me because it's sounds like you've done this job before. There was no sarcasm in my statement. It may be faster the way you described but i chose a different approach. Nothing wrong with that. As for the trunk thing , yes I noticed the release latch and I know every car has a release latch but there's no denying my method was faster. When it was time to reconnect the battery I simply opened the trunk, didn't have to climb through the back seats.
If you would have just removed the headers it gives a clear view to the whole starter and it would cut your time down by double
I find that hard to believe but idk, this was my first time
To remove starter, remove engine lol
Exactly 🤣

I still have the OG Honda starters on my efs.. how old are they ? hahaha What a disaster GM is
Yeah it's trash, I questioned even putting on a oem starter.... maybe aftermarket is the way to go ?
The starter on my 2018 Camaro 2SS with 25k just went out 😑😑😑😑 this doesn’t look like fun
That sucks! There's something wrong here if these starters are failing with so little miles. It wasn't a fun job....
That starter job is almost as bad as the mid 2000’s F-150 4x4’s!
Yeah it wasn't fun
I have a 05 f150 that I had to change the starter on. Now that was a nightmare job. I even have a video on that . 😁👍
@@themechanic6117I def watched that video. I had to replace one on my son in laws truck, had me second guessing my life choices! Lol
🤣🤣
Chopping anything on a customers car is never okay! You cut my bolt your replacing the whole damn thing
Ok
It’s an exhaust stud that should have been a bolt or clamp😂😂 go get robbed at a dealership or pay less for the same job minus a few useless threads that will be rusted in 5 years anyway.
