Me too! Simple. Not a lot of long cutting. I need bags to keep my household things in, away from my four Puppy Dogs. And I'll install hooks all over my walls & hang different style bags. So its all fur free.
My 7 year old girlie just popped over my shoulder and said "oh mummy that lady is pretty, oooh mummy are you going to make me one of those bags, I'd so love one". Guees I'm going to be making two of these then. Thanks Jess, great tutorial yet again 😍
You speak my language. I have viewed many sewing tutorials. You are so organized, thorough and personable, no slang and no ah, yeah or ok guys. To be personable and knowledgeable is rare. Thank-you, going to subscribe right now!
Thank you. I’m a new sewer. My measurements weren’t perfect but this was forgiving enough that it didn’t matter. I am so happy with my bag. I used the pattern and your tutorial together to help me understand some things. I ordered to fabric and I can’t wait for it to get there to make another one
I love making this bag! I have started making my drawstring channel a little bigger by like 1/2 inch and i wait to put the seem in so that it makes a ruffle after the whole thing is put together. That way if I have fudged a little on the seem allowance my cord channel doesn't end up too tight. Great tutorial! Its like sewing with a friend.
Thank you! Evendough the bag and the sewing are extraordinary... Thanks for including the end! Makes me feel I am not the only with those days!!! May Jehovah bless you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I love watching a video to go along side a written pattern and this was just perfect - covered everything, and you’re right the bag is so stinkin cute.
You bring me so much joy! One of the best things is how genuine you are, and how fearless about sharing imperfections in your work! SUCH AN INSPIRATION!
I love these bags, I put insulated inside instead of interfacing and they make great lunch bags :) My grand kids love them. Thanks Jess for a great tutorial
LOVE it. It has a special pocket right in the front of my sewing table organizer stand. Sew happy to have it. I can't even tell you how many times I grab it.
This is indeed a great bag. I made two of these for my friend's gran daughters when they went overseas once. I filled them with kids craft things to keep them busy on the plane and help keep everything all together. They were a great success. Now they use them to keep their dolls clothes in.
Thanks Jess, just ordered the pattern, and excited to get started. So happy you showed your drawstring mishap, I’ve never done a project without having to fix something 🤣. Bloopers, crazy funny.
Thanks Katie! I have to say every sentence so many times before I get it right. Hours of footage to dig through! You would think I would be getting better by now.
This bag is so pretty and your explanations so precise,I bought the pattern Yesterday( coupon code much apreciated ,thank to you and the designer) and this morning I have the cutest project bag...Thank you so much to inspire us joy and sewing!
I made this project over the weekend and after posting on instagram, I now have several family members asking for one. 😂😂Lol...I even made a little card holder and tissue holder with the fat quarter scraps to go with it. Thank you so much for the tutorial and for adding the note about adjusting the channel height for the ruffles/ cording.😘😘
Hahaha isn't that how it goes with sewing? Our loved ones are our best customers (though not always the best at paying)! Doesn't that warm your soul, though, to know they love what you make? It's such a great feeling.
I was just getting ready to make this bag from the pattern and I stumbled on your video. Love being able to watch it all come together. Excited to get working on it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Been eyeing project pouches to purchase online but prices have held me back knowing I could make one. BUT couldn’t find a pattern I liked. This is it!!
I finally made this bag. Like Jess says “It’s so stinking’ cute”. What a great pattern. I’m going to make another one, but with 2 handles, to use as a purse.
Thank you so much for this pattern tutorial! I purchased the pattern and made my first one today and it is definitely not perfect but oh my! I'm in love ❤ I will try to upload a picture
OMG lol Jess is my spirit animal! The outtakes at the end are pure gold xD I was hyped all weekend waiting for this video, just picked out my patterns and I can't wait to make the bag!
You rock Jess! I downloaded the pattern and going to start on my first one, made a bag, but sent it to New Jersey... Even ordered some vinyl to use later on! Thank you for keeping up with these tutorials! They are wonderful!!
Laying in bed watching this is nice. It would be NICER if...I could get my own "sew-jo" on! I love the bigger size and made something similar about a month ago with some Kate Spade placemats I had bought at Home Goods last summer. I have LOTS of quilting fabric all in mostly 1 yard increments. I think I need to bring my machine into dining room where I have skylights!! Thank you always for doing FULL LENGTH tutorials! Its what I love most about your videos!
Makes a great bag for hair rollers 👍🏻 or for kids to store their Legos for sure. This bag will be perfect for next to my bed; I like to keep a tube of hand lotion, extra pair of reading glasses, a small notepad and pen, tube of cream for muscle pain relief, miscellaneous hair scrunchies, etc. It's too much for a night table and mine have no drawers. Thank you so much for sharing this perfect storage solution! 💜
Thank you so much. Love the pattern. I did end up making the seams larger on the lining to make the lining fit a little tighter. I love your enthusiasm and I enjoy listening to you explain as you go along.
hey, jess!!! new subbie here, been binge-watching your channel from the first vid, love love them all. quarantine is sew..... good with your tutorials. one request unless I missed it, is a sewing room tour.
I woke up this morning and thought oh it’s Tuesday in Australia, ya it’s Monday for Jess she will have her Monday tutorial out, so I jumped out of bed REALLY early so I could watch it😂. Just love this bag going to go and make it NOW. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING MORE CREATIVITY TO OUR ISOLATED LIVES JESS 😊 stay safe and happy
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just finally decided to be done with masks and I've been waiting to make this and finally did! I love it soooooo much! Its so cute!
Jess, I am SOOO Happy your channel is doing so great! I just wanted to say THANK YOU! Personally I think it helps to see someone like yourself making such beautiful bags/makes on a domestic machine. A lot of people are sewing on Industrial's and if you don't have one...it makes you feel like you won't be successful at making a beautiful product. So thank you!💜 Keep it up LADY!😊
I totally agree about the sewing machines, Sha-Leine! I drool over those machines, but they are so large and a huge investment. You've always been such a bright light on this UA-cam journey, thank you sincerely!
Loving your tutorials! Thank you so much! Just purchased the pattern for this bag. It will make great gifts for fellow crafters and for myself. You can never have enough bags!
@@OklaRoots I've been really enjoying your tutorials. You make everything look so easy and make things very clear and understandable. Thank you! Too bad we are dealing with this virus mess. I'd love to meet up for class or something with you since you're just down the road from where I live. :-)
I have a few serious problems.... One, I am addicted to your videos. Two, every video I watch I want to make. Three, I haven't sewn anything in 20 years. 😂 I LOVE your channel!! Thank you for making these so easy to follow (I just have to decide which one I am starting with!) This one might be it... 🥰
Awesome tutorial! Followed along and made my Mom a nice bag from the scrap fabric that I had (left over from the pillows I made for her). I am hooked and cannot wait to make another one for myself! Thanks so much!
I just found this video, and made the bag. I turned out so good! The only things I did differently was to add to handles, so it looks more balanced to me, and I used a cotton cord for drawstrings.

Thanks for doing this and thank you to Kandau for the discount! I just bought the pattern. I will tag you when I make some. And I love your fruit fabrics! So cheerful and summery!
I don't know much about selling bags, but at this point in time, this is the only type of bag I would be purchasing right now. It's just so stinking cute and useful!
Yes, love the bloopers! Keep it up! The bag is so cute. I have to think about how I would use it and pick the right size. Love how you made 3 sizes. Love that you cross stitch! I used to do that too but ran out of things to make, plus seeing the pattern gets more difficult as you get older!
I agree with cross stitching being difficult to see, that's probably why it takes me years to complete one. I think you'll find unexpected uses for this bag.
