Saw another video showing how to do this. I am looking at getting a stinger gt2 or genesis g70 3.3tt so excited I can do this on these as I own a Hyundai genesis coupe 2.0t r-spec and you can do this same exact mod to it as well. Have had it on mine for like 50k+ miles I think and no issues sounds great always. :)

Cheapest mod is the removal of the intake inlets under the bumper to decrease flow restriction and increase power BUT this is close :)

Is this worth it without the snorkel.. but already having Injen intakes? Or is this just best with the stock box?
I would love to see somebody mod on the whistling trumpets from GFB BOVS. The only performance issue that I could think of is on a tuned engine. You could see a little bit of turbo lag between shifts.

Wonder if they make something that covers the 2 holes that are open? Like a screen cover. Something to keep bugs or something out.
If I remember correctly their is a hard plastic mesh built into the flange of the valve.

@@regpeeler5509 I was drunk in the garage and just started looking around at the design and thought pvc caps with a little bit of pipe dope would work but that was too much of a permanent solution then just got to thinking about the chair caps and thought I was brilliant for coming up with it but found out later that people had been doing it for a while 🙃

@@onedadsgarage oh ok nice yeah I did the DIY intakes on mine and sounds good, I’ll give this a try next
yes it sounds really good. keeps same boost but it wont boost quicker. The tubes taken off recirculates the air back to turbo which keeps it spinning thus easier to stay/ get back into boost quicker without waiting too long to build it up again. If your not tracking your car everyday then this wont really matter. the turbos are on the small side so a regular person wont notice. i know i dont lol.

@@onedadsgarage lol yep I don't notice at all. I have the same mod done to mine. Them turbos get going quick even without the recirc air.

Is there a reason why I feel a little bit of a jolting hesitation in the car while driving after doing this? Only in comfort and especially in eco mode. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this as well?

This is a bad idea. Your vehicle (unless professionally tuned) is expecting that air to be recirculated.
The ecu will adjust.
Wrong. This engine uses speed density air metering instead of a mass air flow sensor, so it’s doesn’t matter if it’s recirced or not. 👍🏻
@@onedadsgarage no, my comment is still correct. lol. The ecu will just cut back on all the variables thus decreasing power. Again, and simply, its a bad idea.

It’s a recirculating design, if anything you’re losing power.
