Can You Beat TimeSplitters 2 Without Picking up Guns?

- The Series that span off from the team that brought us GoldenEye. A fast paced frantic shooter designed with consoles in mind. It’s already difficult, but lets make this harder
Typically you start a level with something mildly rubbish and grab better and better weapons until you have a homing rocket launcher that wreaks havoc on anyone silly enough to stand in your way.
This acts as a Walk through for people to attempt this challenge, with commentary explaining my thought process.
Rules:
1. We can only use the starting Guns
2. We are allowed to pick up Ammo

At the start of Atom Smasher you can access that control panel and turn off the cameras as well lol, luckily it didn't seem to be too much of an issue

It was OK. But I did get quite a few resets because of those cameras!
Getting to see these live was magical and it's hard to appreciate sometimes just how difficult and how much brainstorming had to go into figuring parts of this out without being there.

Found the channel yesterday and have been binging the vids. Amazing work, really enjoying these challenges and the production put behind it. Keep it up :) Also, Timesplitters 2 is just a superb game. Used to love this back in the day and would often set ridiculous split-screen challenges for me and my friends.
Time splitters was such a good multilayer game. I had great fun with it.

Yep! There are 3 games like that. I grabbed anaco da and the spaceship one. Didn't grab the other one.
I used to play anaconda a bunch as a kid when I was fiddling around in the game

Definitely a possibility in the future for sure. Will have to investigate what challenge run I could do. Would be interesting considering FP is the only one I didn't play as a child
@@sirrando In some ways FP is easier as in most levels you have an AI buddy to fight for you. I don't recall him/her being immortal though but could be wrong.

This is a great game,. I have so many memories making maps and running around them playing multiplayer with my friends as a kid
How possible would a run be where you actually dont pick up weapons, opposed to just not using them?
Loved the video. I love everything Timesplitters.
That was my initial plan.
But, the amount of resets, especially when meleeing everyone, would be too much because you often pick up weapo s when you KO someone that close.
I'm not saying it's impossible, it's probably more doable on easy

I need to go back and replay this classic. I gave up at Neotokyo as a kid like many, because Stealth sucks. Would be nice to get to the later levels and experience the rest of it, as well as beat it.
Honestly. If you follow what I did for neotokyo at the beginning. It's fine. Just a bit of waiting around. And the checkpoint is right after finishing the stealth section

Would you be able to use the Homing Launcher in Planet X? You don't technically pick it up, you pick its parts up then build it yourself. Technicality or nah?
You pick the individual parts up.so I classed it as not allowed

I have a few ideas for future runs lined up. I have just started one for MGS3. There is such scope for playing games wrong I'm sure we will find some interesting ones

It might be doable. I might follow up with the easier levels done on hard. That's possible for sure. I do t know if atom smasher is possible on hard though lol. Might be worth investigating

Nope, can't use it as I didn't bring the silenced pistol into the level with me
@@sirrando but, wait..... you didnt bring the timed mines into the Siberia level and you still used them on enemies and not just the objectives

Also, for Wild West, you can just destroy the wooden crates and they blow up, igniting the gunpowder. You know that wooden crate that is destroyed in the picture at 19:19? Yeah...

That is very much a SFX in game, it was an exerpt taken from stream.
Maybe they just share some SFX libraries? Thats a solid possibility
