Definitely remember watching this game. Plenty of good seats available at the game. Man did their home field advantage disappear with the orange bowl. Stradford had flashes of brilliance.
Ferrell Edmunds had the largest 🖐 🤚 hands in the NFL. 12 inches from palm to tip of middle finger. I learned it from the back of a 1991 football card and for whatever reason never forgot it.
Lawrence Taylor with a 30 day drug suspension and I didn't know Steve bono played for Pittsburgh. Always fun to watch old school games and highlights. Doug flutie should've played qb for us the rest the 88 season
The 1988 Vikings had so much potential. They beat legit NFC powers like Chicago twice (season sweep) and Philadelphia while suffering narrow road losses to eventual SuperBowl champion San Francisco and AFC Championship game runner up Buffalo. But this loss, to what would be a 6-10 Dolphins team, and getting swept by a 3-13 Packers team, dropped the Vikings from what should have been an NFC best 14-2 record and home field advantage in the Metrodome, to an 11-5 record and having to play a peaking 49ers team looking for revenge after a shocking playoff loss to the Vikings a year before. Damn.
@@TheLAGopher IIRC a large number of players came down with food poisoning from something that was served on the team flight when they w ere flying to this game and were definitely not at 100%.
I remember being excited to see my Vikings go up against Dan Marino, my favorite QB. I really thought Minnesota would win this game. I went to my mom's house, since she had a satellite dish, to watch the game. And it was a total dud. The Vikings offense was pathetic.
@ mjs lll do you have any more 1988 nfl season game because i was still look for some like 1988 week5 Kansas city chiefs at new York jets 1988 week5 Phoenix cardinals at los angels rams 1988 week4 san Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks 1988 week5 Detroit lions at san Francisco 49ers on game list am sorry if it to much 1988 week 9 los angels rams at new Orleans saints
And the Vikings thought Herschel walker was their missing piece? How about three of the five offensive lineman? Their o-line was fuckin horrible in the late 80s early 90s

The 88 Viking’s defense was legit and Marino lit them up!!

Marino is the best ever 1st play almost went 85 lol
If that would have been Duper or Clayton with the reception it would have been.

I will don't believe so but will check in the coming days to confirm.
It would be 18 years until the Vikings returned to Miami
1984-1989: defense.... so.... horrible....
But not in this game.
Add 1990-1995. 1996-1999 JJ fixed the defense but it was too late for Marino by then.
Go Fins!
