Growing up a cowboys fan in the DMV in the 80s these were the best two weeks of the year. You couldn’t go anywhere without taking about it. Wish it was still like this!
Thank you for the video. The 1983 week 1 Monday night (31-30) and 2013 week 16 (24-23) games are the best games that I have watched between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. I have one correction: Game 2 (1982 NFC Championship): Jethro Pugh retired back in 1978, 4 years prior to 1982.
That NFC Title Game loss to Washington was such a gut punch as a kid. The Catch had been bad enough the year before but to lose that way to Washington felt even worse!
Growing up in Philly and being a Cowboys fan since 1977 the team I hate the most is the Washington Redskins/Commanders..no matter how good or bad Dallas may be losing to them gets under my skin even to this day
Don Meredith was the original quarterback but enjoyed success with 2 Hall Of Fame Quarterbacks Roger Staubach Navy War Veteran from Vietnam to UCLA Star Troy Aikman .
I was just telling my young buddy the other day that the Redskins with the help of the Cowboys and having the best rivalry in football in the 70's and 80's were a franchise along the same lines as say a Celtics or Lakers. Like the Yankees Dodgers and Canadians. They were on all the time - playing big games with great fans in a great stadium. I mean " you are looking live at RFK" is something you just heard every Sunday. Too bad the franchise has been irrelevant for 30 years while the Cowboys have become a jinxed franchise ! Combined they have been laughing stocks for 50 years
By the way … Great video. I grew up in the 80s in the DMV as a huge Cowboys fan, and you wouldn’t believe the atmosphere during Dallas week. It’s all anyone could talk about. I hoped that it would return to that after RG3’s rookie season, but I suppose Dan Snyder had other ideas
British and a Cowboys fan. The worst thing I've ever heard of. Washington OWNs Dallas in the playoffs remember that 11-1 in RFK all time in the playoffs

It's treason then
Now the stadium gets completely taken over by opposing fans. It's going to take a while to rebuild the fan base in the DMV.
Ain't that the truth.

The rivalry was a reenactment of the old west

I’ve lived in Brazil 🇧🇷 since 1975 but I grew up in Texas, every Redskins game was important!
If you guys have any suggestions for other NFL related top 10 lists then please let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate them
Either game from 1991 would’ve been great on this list. Especially Dallas going to DC and beating the 11-0 Redskins.
1979 week 16 The best Redskins Cowboys game ever 35-34 Cowboys
I still never got over that loss and I’m 59
@@christophermarston4491 me neither...I'm 60
@@christophermarston4491I'm 59, too, but I don't remember that game.
Hated that game lol. I cried I was 11
@christophermarston4491 me too lol

You're team are villains not to mention Jerry is delusional and y'all aren't doing shit again this year.
In Philly??? Do you tell people that you're a Cowboy's fan?
.. If you a Washington fan when was the last time y'all did anything?
@@JuanRamirezJr-e1e Does it matter my squad aren't over hyped villains.

Eddie LeBaron (1960-1961) the original QB?
Can't believe you didn't have Ken Houstons goal linetackle of Walt Garrison on MNF. The 42 -14 game wasn't one of the greatest

2005 and 2006 are glaringly missing
Jethro Pugh was not on the team in 82. You mean John Dutton
Yes! Pugh retired back in 1978.
What about matchups with division rivals?
@@KevinMiller-xn5vu I’m planning on doing a few more similar videos since this one has done well. Stay tuned
Ah, the Redskins. Why I watch.
Didn’t even notice the Aussie accent right away
In Australia, this would have been the Outbacks versus the Aboriginies
Funny
I can’t tell if you’re from Boston or New Zealand
